“Don’t look now – but your sugar mama may have just arrived” Serena joked, motioning with her head in their direction. He looked across very subtly and back to her.

“Nah – far too posh for me – and a little bit odd looking if you want my opinion!  Besides, I’ve got my sights on a little red headed hottie two tables behind you. We made eye contact when she came in. I think I’m in there! She’s with a cute friend – perhaps the both of them might be interested in a little piece of me tonight… ” Adam smirked.

“Adam Green, shut up will you!” She said. Sometimes she got a little exasperated with his blatant ego sex tripping.

She looked around the restaurant at all the wealthy looking couples and parties of people.

“Ad…I’m feeling a bit of a fraud sitting here in such expensive company. I feel like we don’t belong here at all.”

“No, we’re fine – some of these people are probably like us – you know, average folk – actually we’re kinda wealthy anyway aren’t we, by association anyway. Mum and dad are not exactly poor are they! This is how you move up in the world – moving in the right circles, being seen in the right places – just relax Serry – enjoy it please, for me…”

The food arrived and she certainly did enjoy that part. Serena was starving and managed to polish off her divine, if rather small sirloin, potatoes and dressed salad in just a few minutes. As she finished she looked across to the very wealthy looking table of six beautiful people.

One of the men had really caught her eye. He had very shiny slightly wavy dark hair which just brushed his collar. He looked rather self-assured, perhaps a little solemn in expression, but was very good looking nonetheless. He sat at the end of the table prodding and flicking his phone silently whilst the others were quite avidly chatting amongst themselves. They were drinking champagne and had a couple of bottles on ice next to their table. Perhaps it was a celebration for them too. She wondered just how much a bottle of Champers would cost in here … an arm and a leg at least – maybe a torso too! She tried to imagine what it would be like, to be so wealthy that you could walk into one of the most expensive restaurants in town and order a couple of bottles on a whim… just like spending loose change, she supposed…

Still smiling to herself, she was interrupted from her champagne reverie by the fact that the object of her interest was looking in her direction. He had the most gorgeous golden-brown eyes that seemed to burn right through her and she was immediately captivated and fascinated, very much to her surprise! She gulped and looked away quickly, sipping at her glass of wine. She swept her eyes briefly across the room again to find him still looking, with the tiniest hint of a smile on his solemn face. She looked down and smiled her own tiny little smile and then looked his way again.

My goodness, she thought. That was a first! Was she actually flirting a little?

“Serry, what are you doing!” Adam cut through her eye contact game with a chuckle.

“What?” She said, rather distracted.

“All that eye fluttering and coy looking over there… leave the poor bloke to eat his dinner in peace.”

“He’s not eating actually, he’s just drinking Champagne and he doesn’t seem particularly interested in his friends. He’s looking at his phone mostly…” she replied in a very quiet voice  “Anyway, you can talk, what about the ‘hottie’ two tables behind…?”

“Ah, well that was just one look. That’s all it takes for me to hook a girl. I don’t play flirty eye sex across restaurants”

“You don’t? Oh, yes you do Adam! You just don’t like my choice of guy in this instance, do you?”

“Well no. Not really. They are all a bit weirdo sis. Look at them closely. Perfect hair, all in matching perfect clothes, all perfectly beautiful – they all look the same, like a designer waved a magic wand over them. You want a nice normal chap to have fun with, not a primped up male model. I’ve got one in mind. He’s coming later…”

“Oh, I see now! You’ve lined me up with a mate of yours already and I’m spoiling your plan, am I?”

“No Serry, of course not! Look it’s up to you. I haven’t asked him to pull you or anything like that. I know he likes you already. He told me, like, months ago…” he said dangling the bait.

She bit. “Ad, who is it, tell me? – It’s not that strange Matthew is it?”

“No, not Matthew, he and I don’t get on anymore, not since I borrowed his sister….”

“Is it one of BillBob the geeky twins?” She persisted. “I’ve noticed them both staring at me before…”

“No, BillBob are not coming tonight they have a hot gaming event on. What they find so fascinating in that League of Legends is beyond me!  They’re always at it! D’you know what I think? I reckon they’re really having cybersex or something and it’s all just a cover…  Anyway, look Serry – stop guessing ‘cos I’m not gonna tell ya anyway. Just try to keep an open mind tonight, eh?  I’m gonna pay the bill and then we can go in the club to wait for the other peeps, okay?”

Adam called the waiter over who presented them with their bill almost instantly.

“Are they trying to get rid of us, being such modest diners?” Serena said laughing as Adam picked up the bill from the little silver platter.

“Most probably…  Jeeeesus ! Take a guess at the bill Serry… to the nearest tenner… go on!”

“I really don’t have any idea…!  Ummm… £100?”

“Not a bad first guess… try again…”

“£120?”

“Almost… it’s £130! Un-fucking-believable…  this is serious… got any cash on you?” he asked in a worried tone.

“Adam no… Of course not!  I haven’t started my job yet! Where could I get cash like that from, I think I have perhaps £50 in the bank and that’s about all… Oh my God! We’ll have to go and wash the dishes in the kitchen!” She started to fret in earnest.

“Ha ha! Serena love, I am just kidding! But it is a bit steep for two steaks, salad and a bottle of unspectacular wine. Remind me to swerve dinner here from now on! “Adam said as he placed his credit card on the table. The waiter swooped in with a card machine a nano second later.

They paid and got up to leave. She couldn’t help glancing across the way and noticed Mr nice eyes having a
not so subtle
look at her long legs and see through short skirt as she stood up and she smiled to herself again. It was nice to know she had ‘it’, whatever ‘it’ was… she may even find out one day!

She sashayed off between the tables feeling like a model on the catwalk trailing seductively behind Adam the male god. She could feel those golden eyes boring into her back. She flicked her silky waist length blond hair back over her shoulders for added drama as she left the restaurant.  This was all quite harmless fun she admitted to herself…She was enjoying it. She hoped she would see him in the club later for more flirty eye sex.

Chapter 5

From the foyer of the club they were guided downstairs to the club itself by the club staff. It was still early and the club was less than half full, most were in the bar area which spanned the whole of one side. It gave them the opportunity to see how impressive it was and just how large! It seemed to stretch on forever. A large DJ station was situated in the centre of the dance floor with twisted glistening pillars and spot-lit platforms dotted in clusters around it. Many small, intimate alcoves were set with dark leather seating and zebra striped trim. The tables were chrome and smoked glass and the floor was a beautiful glossy slate throughout apart from the massive dance area. That sparkled like dew drops under the wonderful blue laser lights now playing upon it. No expense spared here, she thought dryly. It felt rather cool at the moment. The air conditioning system seemed to be very effective, they’d appreciate that fact later on when things heated up on the dance floor.

A rousing Rihanna dance track poured from the speakers providing pure honey to her ears and stirring her up a little.  She could just imagine this place later and felt very excited by the prospect of the evening ahead. The whole place would be alive and humming and everyone out there dancing wildly, intoxicated and free… even herself perhaps!

“What d’ya think sis? Is this a cool club or what?” said Adam gazing around whilst simultaneously eyeing up a group of rather young looking girls nearby.

“It is! I’m really glad you chose it … it definitely looks like it will be far more classy than those other cattle markets you go to. They’re almost pornographic! I never know where to look. This is really nice and upmarket. When are the others coming d’you know?”

“We’ve got another half hour, I guess.  Let’s get a drink from the bar whilst the rounds are cheap!” Adam said and strode off towards the bar, straight across the empty dance floor.  He really liked being the centre of attraction… She didn’t.

She wandered around the table route, quietly checking out the people inside the alcoves. She didn’t notice that she turned quite a few heads when she walked past. She was very unaware of her ability to attract. She reached the bar just as Adam was ordering a bottle of wine.

“I’ll get this one” Serena said taking out her bank card from the tiny black satin purse hanging across her body.

“Let’s get two bottles then!” he joked.

“What about you get one and I’ll get one.” She suggested…  “that should get us well on the way with our hang over plan plus some fun dancing too!”

“You’re on doll!” he agreed, “But I’m paying for everything tonight.” he beckoned to the bartender. “Make it two bottles please. Plus four straws… don’t bother with the glasses.”

“Adam what are you doing?” She shrieked with laughter as he squashed the end of a straw inside another, popped it in the bottle and handed it to her. “That is just so vulgar!”

“Start sucking kiddo – it’s a race!” he laughed. “Hey, but hold on there a sec, first I propose a toast.… to my extremely clever little sister who has made bank with her new job! Way to go Serry – you deserve it!” he clinked his wine bottle against hers. Bottles in hand they wandered off to their chosen spot in the club. “Ok then – are you ready? – GO!” Adam started to suck at his wine straw and the irresistible lure of a challenge jumped into her head and she joined in the game.

After a few minutes of the
‘game’
she was definitely feeling more than a little light headed.

“I can’t Adam!” she said and stopped slurping the wine down. The room started to spin a little around her.  She looked at her bottle… there was a lot left…  in fact most of it! She really couldn’t drink to save her life!

“Lightweight!” he replied. “I am the winner then…’cos I’ve finished. Look…” He turned the bottle upside down in his mouth for the last drip.

“I feel more than a bit blasted Ad….” She admitted.

“Yeah, I’m a little bit wobbly myself. What with the one we had with dinner… What a blast though.. eh? That will do for quite a while, I think…Wanna sit down? There’s a free table over there.” he suggested pointing.

They made their way over to the table and Serena flopped down in an ungainly giggly heap.

“Itsdastrawswhatdidit…!”  She giggled mindlessly.

He put his hand over hers and patted it.

“Err… Serena? I wanna ask you something, seriously… now that you’re a bit plastered and you might actually tell me and not thump me… are you really still a virgin?”

“Well..no..yeah..kinda..I s’pose.  Whadya..wanna..know..for?”   She replied in a long slur of words.

“No reason really. Just thinking y’know… we’re like two ends of the sex spectrum.  You’re a pure snow maiden and I’m an oversexed dog…!”

“Woof… naughty dog – down boy!” She giggled. He smiled at her silly remark.

“Should I tone it down a bit Serry… perhaps start dating someone instead of all these one night stands – what do you think, seriously?”

“Good idea. Girlfriend, yeah! Good f’ya!” She agreed.

“Aww, you’re so sweet when you’re a bit drunk Serry – you know that? Your face is all pink – it matches your eyes! Come on let’s dance, it’ll make you feel better if you move about – look, there’s a few people on the floor now…”

If there was one thing that Adam loved almost as much as getting girls it was dancing. He was the a great mover on the floor and he knew it. He could keep it up for hours and not break into much of a sweat. He could easily do three consecutive advanced aerobics classes at the health club and not be even vaguely tired, so dancing all night was a breeze! Some men looked out of place dancing but he certainly didn’t, he was made for it and loved it with a passion. His movements were just so ‘right’ which all came down to being so in tune with himself.

Serena loved to watch him. That’s how he got a lot of his women, out there on the floor. Saturday night was prime pulling time for Adam. They literally did shamelessly throw themselves at him. Young women had no self respect these days Serena had thought rather sadly on her past outings with her brother. What with clubs and the ever expanding numbers of adoring women on his private list at the health club, he had it all covered on the love life front!

The Saturdays were belting out loudly as he took her hand and they made their way down the few steps and he was off. She was in the right mood and a more than a little uninhibited herself tonight, thanks to the wine fest. She didn’t have a care in the world! She floated around the floor with him matching a little of his crazy stuff and laughing her head off at how outrageous she thought she was being. She couldn’t remember enjoying dancing so much, ever!  She was just shaking her little chiffon and shorts covered backside for the hundredth time when Adam’s friends finally arrived.  They gathered around them like a flock of colourful birds… congratulating her on her new job and kissing her cheek. They all looked particularly smart tonight; really dressed up. Even the guys had made an effort!

Fair haired slightly overweight Tony took her hand, drawing her to him, his eyes locked onto hers in admiration. Tony! Oh no – it wasn’t Tony who liked her…? She suddenly remembered their earlier conversation in the restaurant.  Her heart felt heavy with disappointment. She didn’t fancy Tony at all.  In fact there was really no one here for her.

David was a very vague maybe; Phil was Ad’s best friend so it was kind of no-go there in her mind; Dean was an annoying know it all and a little too short for her. And, top of the list of no’s was Tony.
