I would also be remiss if I failed to mention the dedicated cold case team I work with in Multnomah County—Bob Boertien, Karl Hutchison, John Ingram, Jim McNelly, Lane Sawyer, Quinton Smith, Piete VanDyke, and Kathy Allen, who keeps us all organized. These individuals donate countless hours of what would otherwise be their own free time to re-examining old cases that have remained unsolved, sometimes for decades. I am perpetually awed by your dedication and determination to uncover the truth, to find those who have evaded justice too long, and to at last bring closure to family members who have lost loved ones.
