“Do you think that whatever he is taking could be what we they found in our system?”

He nodded. “Might be, but we don’t know. What about you guys? Check around and see
if you can find him. And I will hold off on this for a while.”

“Sure thing,” Collin said.

Nathan clapped him on the back. “You’re going to be a poster boy for my new movement.”

“How about you check the doors over there,” Leslie told Patrick. “Collin, you check
around outside.” She looked up. “I will check upstairs.”

“Be careful,” Nathan said kissing her forehead, gaining a few surprised looks from
the weres around them.

“I’ll be good,” she said and started for the stairs. She climbed halfway up and noticed
how old and rickety they were, and it made her a tad nervous.
Big scary blood witch all afraid of some old stairs,
she told herself.

She made it to the catwalk and looked down her eyes swept over the crowd a few times.
No Jonathan. She started down the catwalk and tried the first door. It opened easily,
the room empty and dark. She moved on down the walkway and looked down, once again
scanning the warehouse floor hoping to see in spots she didn’t see before. She turned
to the door in the middle. At first the knob wouldn’t turn, but it finally gave way
and she pushed it open. This room had empty cans and trash on the floor and crates
stacked up around the room. She walked in, her nose wrinkled from the smell of old
alcohol and mold. No Jonathan.

She left the room and walked down to the end where the last door stood. She reached
out and touched the knob. She could feel the rust flake off in her hand as she gripped
it to turn it. It didn’t move far. She tried with some more pressure, but still it
wouldn’t budge. She stared at the door and brought up the magic. It came up reluctantly,
like it was hibernating and it didn’t want to be bothered. But it did as she bid without
a fight and she felt the inside room, and there it picked up a being. The power tasted
were.

She pulled back the magic and placed her hand on the door. She closed her eyes and
her magic searched the door. She found the lock. Willing her magic to work on it and
it did. She called it back and let it sleep. She opened the door and the smell hit
her first urine and feces. Her nose bunched up as she walked into the room. Her eyes
searched the messy room, and finally fell on an old gross mattress beside the only
window in the room. Jonathan lay on the nasty mattress; she walked over and saw the
needle sticking out of his arm. Her eyes took in the new tattoo on his arm briefly.

“Jonathan,” she whispered. He made no move and she said his name louder. Nothing.
She shook him, nothing.

“Well hell,” she said standing up she looked down at him. Shaking her head she pulled
out her cell phone and called Collin and told him where they were and what she needed.

Ten minutes later he walked through the door with a bottle of water. She handed the
needle to him. “I bet this is the same stuff you guys found the other night with my
blood.”

“How do you know?”

“What else can make a were do this?”

He looked down at Jonathan. “Yeah.”

She shook her head undoing the top of the bottle and turned it over all over Jonathan’s
head. He woke with a snarl. “Oh, grandmother, what big teeth you have.”

He blinked at her and then to Collin and then back to her. “The better to eat you
with my dear. What’s going on?” he asked groggily.

“You tell us? How long have you been using the stuff in said needle?”

“What needle?” his eyes scanned the bed and the floor.

“This one?” Collin said holding it out.

“What are you taking?” she asked.

He looked at her. “Rumor is you are no longer a Supervisor. If you want your old job
back, it’s yours. Otherwise I don’t have to tell you anything.” Leslie’s mind flashed
to days with him and the wolf pack and a knot of unease formed in her stomach, making
her nauseated.

“She might not be, but I am still a Supervisor and this will be going into evidence.”

“You have an appointment, your highness,” Leslie said, rolling her eyes at the scruffy
looking man. He looked like your average junky. Within the last couple weeks he looked
like he lost over fifty pounds, his skin was thin and covered in blemishes; his eyes
were sunken in and had lost the fire. Now they were just dull orbs.

“Oh yeah, must bow down and all kiss your boyfriend’s ass,” he said struggling to
get up. She reached out and helped him get up.

“What happened to you, Jonathan? I know we didn’t end on good terms-”

He snorted. “Putting it mildly.”

“But this ain’t you.”

He stumbled, his face hit her shoulder. She heard him sniff her. “You smell good even
under bear funk.”

“Eck,” she said and pushed him toward Collin. “Let’s get him downstairs.”

She walked out to the catwalk and felt Nathan’s eyes on her. She searched the crowd
at the top of the stairs and sure enough there he was staring at her. She gave him
a small smile, and he winked flashing her a smile. As she walked down the stairs her
thoughts went to earlier. She started to feel warm all over.

“Boy she smells good when she is aroused. She would have made an awesome bitch,” Jonathan
said.

“Shut up,” Collin said as he helped drag him down the stairs.

“I bet that smell has made you play with yourself,” he laughed.

Affronted Leslie turned around and slapped him hard in the face. It made him laugh
harder which led to a shaking cough. “I do love me some tough foreplay.”

“Leslie,” Collin said in a low voice, “He is baiting you.”

Nathan met her at the stairs. “Everything okay?” he asked her but shot daggers at
Jonathan.

“Fine. He is doped up on something,” she murmured. Nathan reached out and touched
her cheek gently. “You have a show to put on, Papa Bear.”

“Yes,” he took over for Collin helping Jonathan. “Come on, it’ll be over as soon as
we get up there.”

“Whatever.”

Leslie and Collin walked up through the crowd to where Patrick and Jorge were standing.
“Jonathan looks tweaked out like a Normal,” Jorge said.

Collin nodded. “Yeah. I wonder if a drug could kill us. Do you think we can overdose?”

She shrugged. “The way he is going he is going to.”

“Won’t say I’ll miss him,” Patrick said.

“Nor I,” a thick Spanish accent said behind them.

“Fredrico,” Leslie said.

“Nina, always a pleasure to see you and your bewitching eyes.”

Fredrico’s gaze made her a bit nervous. It seemed too intense. She stepped closer
to Patrick and Jorge. They must have noticed Jorge put his arm around her shoulder
in a brotherly protective way. “So I see you have no issues with your pack leader
overdosing?”

His eyes went to Jonathan on the stage. “He is doing this to his self. Being a greedy
pack master; putting his wants in front of our needs. He does not deserve us.”

“Interesting,” she said and was hushed by Collin.

“Okay, sorry for that. So back to the last bit of business,” Nathan spoke out hushing
the crowd. Leslie looked around at the weres. Every one of them stared, captivated
by him. She looked at him, trying to see what they saw and did. He held a force that
demanded respect.

“Tonight, we come together to create one pack. A treaty,” he said and someone handed
him some papers. “These here hold a treaty we have been working up.” A mumble went
through the crowd.

“Did you know about this?” Patrick asked her leaning in.

“No.”

“No one really knew about it,” Fredrico said, anger clear in his voice.

“So what this means is that we are going to unite the packs and groups into one pack.”
The crowd whispering got louder. “We will start a council in where all pack and group
leaders will meet and exchange news. This is very beneficial to all of our well being.
Time is changing, and we can no longer rely on the Supervisors to keep things in order.”

“Ouch,” Collin said.

“Hey now,” Mark said from behind him. “We are still the ruling force here. This contract
has nothing to do with us.”

“Mark, step back, please,” Nathan said.

“Damn,” Patrick whispered, “This is going to get us in trouble.”

“Ha! Not me,” Leslie whispered back.

“Now we haven’t clarified all the details yet. But one thing is sure,” Nathan turned
to look at Mark. “We will slowly pull away from Supervisor rules and live a decent
life based on pack and family.”

Mark stared angrily at Nathan. “If looks could kill,” Collin whispered.

“This is going to have some nasty repercussions for us all,” Fredrico spoke up. Leslie
had almost forgotten he was still hanging about.

They all watched as all the leaders signed the contract. Jonathan signed then left
the stage quickly. Even Mark signed it. A loud cheer filled the warehouse and the
party started. The rest of the night was full of laughing, dancing and eating.

“So, how did I do,” Nathan asked Leslie grabbing her and pulling her to him.

She smiled up at him. “You did great.”

He cocked an eyebrow. “Just great?”

“Wow, your ego is so big right now,” she said and laughed.

“I say we do some dancing.”

“I don’t dance,” she said quickly, but not quick enough, he already had her moving
to the music.

Groovy rhythmic music made bodies move as they danced off their frustrations. Warm
friendly bodies touched and moved and Leslie got carried away into the music. After
a while Nathan excused himself. She continued to be swept away in the music, it spoke
to her beast. She could feel it slither inside her moving to the tunes. A body pressed
up against her and she was too enthralled in the music to really care who it was.

Not until a hand snaked into her shirt and squeezed her breast. Bad breath breathed
into her ear making her stop dead. “You always had the best tits,” the bad breath
breathed along her neck. She could hear him smell her.

“Get your hand off me,” she said.

“Oh, you smell so good,” he whispered.

“Just leave now.”

His hand squeezed her breast once more. “Why would I do that? You smell so good. I
remember how you tasted, you tasted so good. Remember how I made you come eating your
pussy. You were crazy ripping my hair out screaming for my dick. But one wasn’t enough
for you.”

She grabbed his hand and pulled it out of her shirt and turned around. “Jonathan,
leave me the hell alone.”

“I can’t.” He grabbed her using his super strength to hold her to him. She struggled
but then felt his mouth clamp onto her shoulder. She screamed, but his hand clamped
over her mouth as he tore skin and cloth away.

“I need you Leslie,” he said eating her flesh. “I need your blood, it tastes so good.”
He locked his lips onto the wound which felt on fire and he started to suck at it.
The slurping sounds made her sick and made her struggle harder. But he had her against
him so tight. She could feel hard dick rubbing against her hip.

A great roar sounded making time almost stop as Nathan grabbed Jonathan pulling him
away from Leslie. She looked at her ruined shoulder and at Jonathan who licked the
rest of her blood on his face slowly almost teasing Nathan with it. Nathan’s bear
eyes looked at Leslie tears of pain streaked her face and his anger rode the air.
All the other were moved, well aware. Nathan grabbed Jonathan’s hair in one hand and
in the other he grabbed the back of his jeans. He walked him outside and threw him
head first out in the parking lot.

He got to his feet. “You think I am scared of you!” Jonathan shouted. “Fuck you and
this stupid were-coalition. You’re fucking delusional. Just like that fucking cunt
in there. But I will have her again. I will fucking drain that bitch dry after I shove
my dick in every opening and possibly make some more.”

Nathan roared and charged at him knocking the man on his back. He bunched up his fist
and punched Jonathan in the face he was in the fifth punch as Jorge, Patrick and Albert
pulled their King off the bleeding wolf. James was helping Jonathan to his feet but
he pushed him away. He spit on the ground between him and Nathan and turned off limping
into the night.

Nathan shook himself and turned to the crowd looking for Leslie. She had been watching
as Collin held a rag to her shoulder. He walked to her. “You okay?”

She nodded. “As good as anyone can be having their shoulder almost eaten off.”

“Let me see,” he said and Collin pulled the cloth off. “I am going to fucking kill
him. But first we have to get this cleaned up.” He picked her up and walked off leaving
everyone staring at them.

“I could walk.”

“I want to hold you. I just saw some douche bag take a chunk out of my girlfriend’s
shoulder.”

She looked up at him. “Girlfriend?”

He put her down and used his keys to beep open his car. He opened the door for her.
“I do know that when I am around you I want to protect you, make love to you, hold
you. Maybe not in that order. But I don’t want to be without you.”
