“Are you all right?” he asked.
A smile tugged at her lips. “Yes.”
His heart swelled larger still. God, he couldn’t believe such an angel had been under his nose all along. He’d been drawn to Amanda, but he’d had no idea how sweet she was. Sweet with a touch of naughty. The ideal woman, as far as he was concerned. Her shyness intrigued him, and he looked forward to getting to know her better, to peeling back the layers of her shell.
Though it pained him to release Amanda, Ivan broke away and disposed of the condom. He zipped up his pants and attempted to smooth out his wrinkled suit.
“Why, Mr. Mizenov, you look like you slept in your fancy schmancy suit last night.” She grinned, and her teasing surprised him.
“Mocking the boss is against the rules,” he said, his stern mask falling into place.
“Oh really?” She hopped off the desk and retrieved her panties from the floor, slipping them back on before searching for her heels. At some point, they’d fallen off as he pounded into her.
“Really,” he said firmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Well, who am I to argue with the boss?” She smoothed her hands over her skirt and combed her fingers through her messed up hair.
“Arguing with the boss is also against the rules.” He stalked toward her, pinning her against the desk. His cock twitched, threatening to come to life already. “And do you know what happens when you break a rule, young lady?”
Her eyes widened and she inhaled deeply, staring up at him with that innocent, shy expression of hers that had been tempting him for the last six months. “Um . . . I . . .” She fumbled for words and her cheeks flushed.
He tilted her chin up with one finger and leaned closer, thrusting his hips against her center. “Tell me what happens when you break a rule. I want to hear you say it.”
“I – I get a spanking.” Her cheeks reddened further, and her breathing sounded labored.
“That’s right, young lady. When you break the rules, I’ll bend you over my desk and spank your bare bottom. Do you understand?”
“Y – yes, Mr. Mizenov. I – I understand.” She blinked rapidly and tried to avoid his gaze, but he grabbed her chin between two fingers, giving her no choice but to peer into his eyes.
“From now on, you’ll also be subject to random temperature checks. I want to make sure my favorite employee stays healthy.”
She gasped, but said nothing.
“I also expect you to be honest with me, always. I won’t tolerate dishonesty in a relationship.” He thought of his last girlfriend, The Cheater, and cringed. He trusted Amanda, but it needed to be said.
“Relationship? Mr. Mizenov, I don’t think we’re in a relationship. I mean, yeah, we had sex. But that doesn’t mean we’re in a relationship.” Sadness colored her features, and her shoulders slumped under his hands.
“I don’t randomly fuck women, Amanda. I’ve wanted you for so goddamn long I couldn’t stand it one more day. We. Are. In. A. Relationship. Starting now.”
“No offence, but this is the strangest beginning of a relationship. Ever.” Humor infused her voice, and most of the sadness left her eyes.
He smiled. “No offence taken. Now get your naughty little behind out to the sales floor. If those display cases aren’t wiped clean, your bottom will pay the price.” He pulled her closer and reached around to squeeze her ass, prompting her squeal.
“Ouch!” she said. “I’m sore!”
He chuckled and squeezed her other cheek, ignoring her protests. He released her and watched as she headed for the door. Strangest beginning of a relationship, eh? He was fine with that.
“Wait,” he said.
She turned with her hand still on the doorknob. “Yes, Mr. Mizenov?”
He nodded at her waist. “I forgot to tell you about my most important rule.”
“What?” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and peered up at him, her full lips slightly parted. Lips he anticipated putting to use in the near future. His life had just gotten a whole lot more interesting, thanks to Amanda and her penchant for naughty books.
“My rule about panties,” he finally said. “Take them off. You aren’t allowed to wear panties to work anymore.”
She batted her eyelashes and twirled a lock of hair around her finger, all the while backing out the door. “Come and get them, Mr. Boss Man.”
