Grayson and Paige glared daggers at each
other. Their heated argument was worse than ever and for the last
few weeks they seemed to be escalating. She felt like punching him
in the arm as hard as she could, but lately he’d been painfully
blocking her strikes with his forearm and he was inflicting more
injury than she could deliver. Slowly, she was getting over her old
habit of hitting him with a vicious temper.

“You act like this is all my fault,” he
blared loudly, because they were locked in her dorm room with no
one around. “How was I supposed to know someone from our old school
would see us here together, and tell everyone we were brother and
sister? It wasn’t me who told, and it wasn’t me who decided to see
other people to hide what we’re doing.”

She narrowed her eyes on him even more.
“Yeah, well you sure found Kimmy real fast, you asshole! You were
hanging all over her last night at that frat party.”

“She’s blonde! I hang out with her, and only
her, because you know I don’t like blondes! And I wasn’t all over
her. Leaning in to talk to someone over loud music isn’t doing
anything. I can’t say that about you! That fucker was kissing your
neck all fucking night—
right in front of me
!”

If Paige wasn’t so upset, she’d have to
suppress a smile. She’d been striving to get Grayson jealous for
weeks. She’d been hoping if she drove him nuts by seeing her with
other men he’d just ask her out already, and they could secretly
date with the security of knowing they’d never cheat. But they had
no such title. Yet he had no problem driving her all around town to
stop in abandoned parking lots or deserted roads late at night so
they could fuck in the bed of his truck. And lately she’d been
thinking that maybe she should have never suggested they pretend to
date other people to save their image. It hurt her to see other
girls flirt with him, and no matter how many times she tried to
think the guys hanging on her were Grayson, they simply weren’t.
But he wasn’t demanding to have her, and she didn’t know what that
meant.

“Don’t look so smug, Paige. This isn’t any
of my idea. You’re the one calling all the shots. I still don’t
have my picture. I don’t have you. What in the fuck are we even
doing because I’m running around in circles trying to figure you
out?”

“I don’t know, Grayson. You tell me! Don’t
pretend you’re not constantly telling me what to do any time we’re
naked, so what’s the difference if my clothes are on?”

“Are…are you saying I can have whatever I
want—whatever it is?” She tilted her head to the side, too annoyed
to answer that question. He knew damn well she was putting him on
the spot, and she never wanted to push him. She wanted him to
choose her willingly, but it was about time he made up his mind
about her. They couldn’t keep fighting as they were or they’d tear
each other apart, or worse, never speak again. “Swear I can have
whatever I want!”

“Yes, just tell me what we’re doing because
I don’t even know anymore. You’re the man. You’re the one who’s
supposed to tell me.”

“Fine!” he growled, but she swore she saw a
fleeting, triumphant smile. “Come over to my dorm tonight. Seven
o’clock. And don’t keep me waiting. You know I hate that.”

“What kind of fucking answer is that? That’s
not even an answer! Shit—this is so complicated. I think we screwed
this up, Gray. I don’t think we can fix this. I don’t know what to
do about us.”

“Let’s not fight then.” He seemed to flip
off his anger like a switch, because his entire body slackened and
he came to her, finally backing away from her dorm door to enter
her room. He quickly put his arms around her, which only confused
her more. He hugged her, and buried his nose in her hair. “You
smell so good. I’d have my way with you here, but I know you’d
never let me.”

“I would if the entire campus didn’t know
who you are and that we’re related. I hate that girl for ever
mentioning it. I hate her!”

“Why do you care so much anyway? We’re not
blood related.”

“They don’t know that. We both have dark
hair and eyes, and both share the same last name.”

“Yeah, and that’s the end of the world,” he
said sarcastically, and when she pushed him away, not thrilled with
his light humor, he spun on his heel back toward the door. “Fine.
I’m leaving before we fight again. See you tonight at seven.”

“Another party?”

“Yeah, but who cares. Later.”

PAIGE ARRIVED EARLY, ONLY because she knew
Grayson was in no mood for her to be difficult. She was trying not
to upset him, and striving hard to make them work. She just didn’t
know how to fix their problems, not if he wasn’t asking to date
her. She wished he’d simply demand his desires, as he did in bed,
and she’d deal with it, even if all he wanted was to fool around.
She certainly wasn’t about to give up their amazing sex anytime
soon.

She thought his growly temper would be
haunting her all night, but when she got to his dorm, he was
waiting outside for her and looking pleased to see her. But then
she was wearing a tiny, jean skirt and a pink shirt that dipped low
enough he could see her black lace bra and ample cleavage. Grayson
was a hot blooded man, and seeing so much of her skin always made
him strive to great lengths to get her naked, including putting
their jealousy on hold, which was the point of her attire. No
matter what happened that night, she wanted him to take her home
and stop along some dusty, out-of-the-way hill to discover she wore
no panties.

“Hey you.”

“Hey.” She looked down to her hand because
Grayson chose to take it, when she met him on the top step. She
glanced at a group of smokers a few feet away, but despite Grayson
noticing her discomfort he tightened his grip. “What are you
doing?”

“I’m waiting for you. We’re going
upstairs.”

“No I mean,” she glanced at his locked
fingers, “
that
.”

“You said I can have whatever I want. You
promised. I’m making it happen. Get over it.” He grinned, and
shrugged a shoulder as if their public display was no big deal.

She tried shaking his hand away, and
whispered, “Gray, seriously. That girl is in my calculus class. Let
go.” She once again attempted to make him release his possessive
grip, but he wouldn’t.

“You promised, Paige. I get what I want, and
this is it. We’re coming out of the closet. We’re publically
dating.” He grinned. “I’m going to make sure everyone knows you’re
all mine—have been for months.”

“Can we talk about this somewhere else?” she
asked in a hushed whisper. She tugged his arm to move him away from
the onlookers, but he only followed to take a few long strides
until she was backed against the wall.

“What’s wrong, babe?” he asked, and took
another step toward her until his lips were so close, she swore
he’d kiss her—right out in the open. She wasn’t mistaken.

He brought his mouth to her earlobe, and
licked just under her diamond stud. He knew how teasing caresses
along her neck, kisses on her jaw, and hot breaths filling her
canal made her panties wet within seconds. She swore she could
orgasm simply by him licking her throat if he lingered long
enough.

Grayson then breathed out while he traced
his mouth along the arch of her ear before circling down to his
starting point. “I dare you to tell me you don’t want me. Tell me
you have no desire to date me Paige,” he sent his hot breath down
her neck as he demanded her to fess up if she wasn’t
interested.

“No, I do,” she said quickly, sounding
breathless by his daring. There was a shocked gasp by some of the
people nearby and she flushed pink. She pinched her eyes closed,
wishing to hide.

“Then what’s wrong?” He lightly brushed his
lips along her cheek, nearing her mouth. She wished he’d stop or
could halt him, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that if she
didn’t accept his offer, he would never make another. And that
scared her more than rumors.

Before she was sure or even ready, he
pressed his mouth to hers and parted his lips to lick hers. She
tried to ignore all her insecurities of everyone watching, which
was easier with her eyes tightly shut. She reluctantly met his
tongue, letting him leisurely lick in slow, small circles around
her tip. She hated herself for moaning, and after that she was
aware of the whispers around her. They distracted her so much that
she refused to continue, dropped her forehead to his shoulder, and
hoped he wouldn’t pursue her again.

Grayson kissed the top of her head, and put
his arms around her. “Was that so bad?”

“Can we not talk about this here? Let’s go
up to your dorm. Your roommate is gone, right? Or you can ask him
to give us a second?”

“He won’t be bothering us all night. I
already told him I want the room all to myself because you’re
coming over. We’re not sneaking off for sex anymore. We’ve done
that for seven months now, and I’m sick of hiding.”

“But you didn’t tell him why though, right?”
she asked stupidly. Surely his roommate pieced together why Grayson
didn’t want him around with a girl in his room.

“Hell yeah I did. Said it right in front of
that fucker, too, because if I had to watch him put his hands all
over you one more time I was going to kick his ass and he wouldn’t
even know why I was so pissed.”
