“I love you, James, nothing compares to this feeling I get when you are inside me. You just seem to complete me.” Avery breathed into his mouth as she deepened the kiss.

James just lost it at her words, speeding up he pounded into her, continuing to grind down on her clit with every hard downward stroke of his cock. He was nearing the edge of his stamina, he could feel the tingling starting in his balls. He could hardly think, but he knew she had to go over first. Finally, James felt her flutter around his cock with one last plunge into her tight sheath, he felt his balls tighten up and he lost his load. His cum streamed out of him so fast he had a head rush. James thought he must have blacked out for a second. Next thing he knew he was resting on top of Avery, with her small arms wrapped around him. She was petting him wherever her arms could reach and he could feel her tiny kisses on his cheek. James quickly realized that he was too heavy and tried to move. Avery was having none of that, holding him tighter she asked him to stay put.

She loved the feeling of cuddling James, skin to skin. She knew with James, she had to take what she could while his mood was soft and giving.

Chapter Twenty-Three

James walked into the meeting the next morning, with what could only be called a shit-eating grin from ear to ear. He had left Avery curled up still sleeping in bed. He had been greedy and worn her out, reaching for her many times through the night. James had devoured every inch of her.

He should be saturated, but he still had a hard time leaving her alone to come to the meeting. After their last love session, Avery had looked like she had passed out and gave little snores as she slept.

James knew he had to give her a break, after all they had the rest of their lives to devour each other. He didn’t have to gorge himself all the time. He had a long talk to his cock in the shower this morning, as he took himself in hand so he wouldn’t give in to the impulse to wake up Avery. His cock would learn. Laughing at his thoughts, James sat at the long table in the conference room of the office and took the coffee cup that Clay extended to him.

“Get that silly grin off your face, brother.” James hadn’t even notice that Chase was also sitting at the table with the other guys. He had to get his proper head in the game.

“You’re just jealous,” James said with another grin as he sipped his coffee.

“Shit yeah. I think I speak for all the guys here that face of yours tells a story and we get the message loud and clear. Try and not look so happy. It just depresses me.”

Chase changed the subject abruptly. “I got thinking about this case when I got home and blew my Wednesday night date off. She was sure pissed, but I just couldn’t get my head off the problem with Avery and her property. I spent most of the evening going over the details that Grant had found out from the share certificate. I think I might have a solution to her ownership. What do you think, if Grant can pull it off, changing the ownership of the numbered company to Carlos before you let the Feds know?”

“Can we do that legally, Chase?” Clay asked. “If it can be done, I think with your devious mind, you’re in the wrong profession, you should be working with us.”

“Well we can. I have a plan but I have to run it by Grant first. It will take some maneuvering on the computer, and I don’t want to bring in any of my guys from my firm.”

Looking at Grant, Chase outlined the plan that he had spent the night thinking about.

“We will have to change the share ownership of the company, just before the company that is based off shore. From your findings, Avery is the trustee of that company. We want the Feds to stop at Carlos and if you can cover our tracks, they will see no need to go out beyond the States.”

Grant spoke up. “Changing everything should be a piece of cake. I started hacking when I was given my first computer. I was an inquisitive kid, you really don’t want to know what I get up too these days. After I tell you what I found in the notebook, I think we should go into my office and see what we can pull off together.”

That got Clay’s attention. Putting his coffee cup down on the table with a thud, he asked, “What did you find? And please make it good news.”

Grant picked up the computer printouts on the table before him, “I went through the book and found a lot of numbers, symbols and, like Angel said, longitude and latitude, I was right it is a diary of Carlos’s drug pickup and deliveries. It also includes every undercover operation that Carlos has. No wonder he is after Avery. This book is like a road map to all of his holdings. Avery’s father must have gotten in right at the start of Carlos’s business dealings to know all of this. It was probably kept as insurance for her dad, if at any time Carlos would think of turning on him. He kept such good notes that it even tells us where the drugs are being produced and the shipping companies used. If the Feds get their hands on this book, its good-bye to Carlos and some very important businessmen around the country.”

“If it’s that valuable, I don’t like the idea that we got away so easily from those guys yesterday. They could have easily followed us back here.” Clay took a sip of his now-cold coffee.” I’ll have to get on it right away. We’re secure up here, but they probably have something planned.”

James looked at Clay. “I agree, looking back it was too easy. But I think we now have to be even more devious. I like Chase’s idea to change the ownership of the shares and keep it as far away from Avery’s name as possible.

“But, let’s go one step further and really pin it on Carlos. Why don’t we take a trip down to Florida and really make sure that the missing drugs are there. After all, so far it’s just speculation on our part. Let’s make certain. I think we should leave the notebook with the drugs when we find them. And make a nice package for the Feds to discover. If we’re going to sink Carlos let’s go the whole way and make sure we shut down production and delivery. I’m sure the Feds, when they get their hands on that book, they will be so busy looking into all Carlos’s dealings that Avery will be the last thing on their minds.”

Clay looked at James, adding his thoughts. “I agree that we should make a trip down there. We’ll have to scope out the house or cottage to see if we can find the drugs and leave the notebook with them. We want to be able to give the Feds a direct road map to exactly where to find this stuff. Grant can stay here with Chase working out the kinks of getting the shares in Carlos’s name. While that’s being done, Angel and I can go down and have a look.”

“I have to go,” James argued back, “I can’t let you and Angel take that kind of risk for me. She’s my woman and I should be the one risking my neck for her, not you two. Angel can stay here and protect her. I think it should just be me sticking my neck out. But knowing you”—he paused and looked over at Clay—“you’re not going to let me go alone, are you?”

Clay just nodded his head at James, so he continued, “And I would really like the other guys to stay and protect this building, including Chase’s firm and employees.”

Chase looked up from the quiet conversation he was having with Grant. “Why my building? I’m just an everyday investment broker. I don’t think he would hit my building.”

“Yes, he would by association. They now know that you were with us down in Florida, when we got the contents out of the safety deposit box. Carlos would have been given a full detailed report of what went down. So, you might think this is a glamorous business and want in, but you’re forgetting it’s also a very dangerous one. You’re already on their radar being my brother and we have been keeping a close watch on you. But now, by you taking part in this operation, you can’t be considered an innocent bystander. You’ll have to be extra vigilant until we put Carlos away. Shit, all of us have to be extra careful. We have to keep a very close watch on Avery. I still think he will be making his move shortly. By now he will have figured out that we have must have gotten some information from the safety box. He won’t know what we found out, but he’s a smart man, he’s had to have been to get where he is today. So he will put the pieces together and not want to take a chance on us exposing him.”

James didn’t want to scare Chase, but he had to make him aware of the danger he had placed himself in when he decided to get on their plane.

“I know that you think you should be the one going because Avery’s your woman, but we’ve all come to like Avery. Hell, I think of her as a little sister. I don’t think your mind will be totally on the job. You’ll be thinking of Avery back here and wondering if she’s OK. Let me and Angel take care of this.” Clay now stood at the table, looking down at James. “I think the plan’s good, just not the players.”

Trying to make Clay see his reason, he explained, “Look, we all know that Angel has a sixth sense. I think he would be best guard for Avery. He will sense danger before I could even get wind of it. Doing this for me is something that is beyond your job. I can’t ask this of any of you. Since you have made yourself the overseer to our group, I know you won’t let me go alone. I won’t pretend that I’m looking forward to this, but as this is my operation. I’m making the decision.”

Turning to the others, James continued. “I’m going and Clay won’t stay behind. So it’s up to the rest of you to keep Avery, Chase, and each other safe. That’s final.” James didn’t like to pull rank like they were back in the army, but this was the way it had to be.

James looked at the resigned faces of the men surrounding the table. They knew he wouldn’t change his mind once he made it up. For this to work, he needed to match the players in the best places for their abilities. He had gotten them out of tight spots in the past and he knew all their strengths and weakness. This was the best solution. The wild card would be Avery. He hoped he could convince her, too.

“We’ll leave in an hour. Angel, give me half that before you come up.” James rose and headed out of the office to his apartment.

Chapter Twenty-Four

When James arrived back at the apartment Avery was sitting in the kitchen having coffee and toast. “How did the meeting go?” she inquired as he came and sat down at the table across from her.

“Well Grant looked into the shares that we found and he was right, it’s a numbered company that, through an off-shore corporation, owns a property down in Florida. It’s close to where the town was that we found the safety deposit box in. Clay and I are going to leave shortly and scope out the place. I have Angel coming up to keep you company,” James explained

“I think I should go, after all it’s my property at the end of the trail. I really don’t want Angel to have to keep me company. Why don’t you tell me what you’re not saying? Angel is going to be guarding me.” Avery knew James was not telling her everything.

“What else did you find out about the property and my father?” Avery asked James as she put her half-eaten toast down.

Why didn’t they want her with them? After all, they had taken her to the bank and they had made out OK. Well if she didn’t take into consideration the two men following them. But she knew she would be safe with the men. She didn’t know all of them really good, but the ones that she had come to know through working at the office, she trusted. James would only have the best men on his team, men that could be counted on. There had to be something else James was hiding, she wondered to herself.

James leaned over the table and grasped Avery’s hands in his. “Please believe me, that if this wasn’t dangerous I would take you with me. I wouldn’t let you out of my sight. But with what we found out in the notebook, the stakes are even higher. I can’t tell you everything contained in the books, as Grant is still decoding it. But Angel has a feeling that this trip could be very dangerous. I won’t lie. I can’t have the distraction of having you with me. I would spend all my time making sure that you were safe and not having my head totally on the mission. That might put Clay at risk. So please, just stay here with Angel for me. We will be back as soon as possible, after we check out the place.”

“Who else is going with you?” She sat back and picked up her coffee, her appetite for her breakfast gone.

“Just Clay. I trust him completely to have my back and we can move as fast as one man if we have to.”

“I don’t understand. If it’s that dangerous, why aren’t you taking all the guys? Angel can go, too. I will be OK alone for one day.” Avery was now scared for James’s safety, if he only took Clay with him.

“I’m only taking Clay because he won’t stay behind. I wanted to go alone. I don’t want anyone down there to notice our movements like the last time. We can also move faster with only the two of us, if needed. Believe me when I say Clay and I know what we’re doing”

“OK, I won’t argue, but I’m scared. What if something happens to you or Clay? I don’t think I could stand it, if something went wrong.” Avery implored him to understand what she was feeling.

“Trust me baby, now that I have you, I’ll look after my ass even more so,” James tried to reassure her

“You better remember I’m very possessive too and the ass of yours belongs to me.” She tried to lighten the situation, as she was now resigned to James going. Nothing she could say would change his mind.

James got up from the table and wrapped Avery in a tight hug. “It will soon be over.”

Kissing her lips like it was the last time he would do so, James drank in her taste.
God I don’t want her out of my sight for a minute.
A knock at the door made James release Avery with a groan. Angel was here, time to go.

“Angel’s here, I have to go. Do whatever Angel tells you. He has saved our butts too many times to count. So, if he says something, listen. It could mean your life, or his. I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can.” James didn’t want to scare her any more than she was, but she had to take this serious for both of their sakes.

James walked out of the kitchen and let Angel in the door, clasping Angel on one shoulder as he walked in. “Please look after her.”

Angel’s coal-black eyes speared James with a glance and, he replied as he closed the door on James retreating form, “I will watch her like she is part of our family. Now she is yours she is a member of our unit. I will guard her with my life. Don’t worry, just hurry back and watch over both of your butts.”
