Their orgasms faded and they collapsed onto the bed together. His softening cock was still buried inside her. They laid there, joined.

Jake started to chuckle.

“What?” she said as she too giggled.

“You,” he said.

“What about me?”

“You’re...something,” he said. “Wow.”

He snuggled up to her and they pulled the covers over themselves.

“You know,” he said, “we’re going to have to explain this to our parents.”

Lisa laughed. “God, I know. Is it weird?”

“No. They met before us. What’s the big deal?”

“You know, my mom is talking about the four of us taking a vacation together,” she said.

Jake kissed her on the neck. “Sounds like fun, but first, we should go off together. Just the two of us.”

“Yeah, right,” Lisa said.

“No, I’m serious. Where would you want to go? If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Paris? Sydney? Venice? Cairo?”

“Um, Jake, you know I’m a college student, right? Yeah, that means I have a college budget.”

He turned her face to his and looked her in the eyes. “Lisa, I just became the Light Heavyweight Champion of the world. You do understand what that means, right? I had a point and a half on the PPV. I made three million dollars last night.”

Lisa’s jaw dropped. She stared at him in silence.

“Like I said, where do you want to go?”

Lisa had a goofy smile on her face. “Seriously?”

“Yes, I’m totally serious. We could go anywhere. Prague? Milan?”

“You know school starts back up in a couple of weeks.”

“School? How will you have time for school when you are in the middle of your new career as a supermodel?”

“Oh, please. Stop it,” she said.

“I’m serious,” he said. He kissed her on the mouth. “You’re the most beautiful woman I know.”

She felt him hardening inside of her.

“Are you...?”

He smiled. “They don’t call me Bull for nothing.”

Epilogue

“I’ve known him since I was your age. And now he holds the record for title defenses and title reign. No one before him had held the belt for more than a year and our man Jake’s had it for four.

“He wasn’t always a champion, though. He was once just like you. We used to wrestle in this exact gym. But enough about that. Without further ado, I give you my best friend. The Light Heavyweight Champion of the world, Jake Mata!”

Cole clapped and the small group of kids joined with him.

They had returned to Gino’s gym, where it had all started for Jake so many years ago. Throughout his reign, Jake had held court with politicians, crowds of thousands, movie stars. Tonight he spoke to twelve kids from the same streets he grew up on. Tonight was about giving back. The last time Lisa had been here with Jake he had been too modest to tell them who he really was. Now he was ready.

He walked onto the mats with his title belt draped over the right shoulder. He towered over the coaches in the room, and his own friend Cole. He looked like a giant next to the kids.

“I’m a mixed martial arts fighter,” he said to the kids. “Some people think that makes me an animal, a brute. It doesn’t. I respect my opponents, and they respect me. They bring the best out of me, and when I try to defeat them I’m bringing the best out in them.

“My fights have shown me what I am made of. They’ve shown me the meaning of hard work, dedication, and grit. They’ve taught me never to give up. I’ve had to master many martial arts. It all started for me with wrestling, just as you young men are doing here.

“Your coach told me one of you just lost at state. Who was it?” he said.

A kid of about 13 raised his hand. He was a tough-looking kid. Scrappy. But he had an air of defeat about him.

Jake looked at the boy for a few seconds.

“I was about your size when I was your age. I also lost that year at state.”

The boy nodded.

“Oh, they told you that, did they?” Jake chuckled. “It sucks doesn’t it.”

Again the boy nodded.

“What’s your name young man?” Jake asked.

“Tony,” the boy said.

“No kidding? My Pops was named Tony,” Jake said. “That’s a good sign. My Pops was a hell of a wrestler and hell of a man. I want to tell you something, Tony. Do you remember Iron Mike, the boxer?

The kid nodded.

“Yeah, well he got laid out cold in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. It was terrible. He went back to his room. Laid in bed. But he picked himself up. Do you know what he realized?”

Tony shook his head.

“He realized God doesn’t pick on the small animals. He said lightning only strikes the biggest animals because they’re the ones that vex God. He has to keep them in check so they don’t get lofty on their thrones. Do you understand?”

Tony shrugged his shoulders.

“It means if you ever find yourself really tested, then you must be one the big animals. Inside of you must be a great warrior. You’re already vexing God at 13 years old. Do you understand?”

Tony nodded.

It was as if Jake had inflated Tony with air. The kid stood an inch taller. He pulled his shoulders back and puffed his chest out.

Lisa reflected on her years with Jake. Even now Jake was building people up, just as he had built her up. His methods were unconventional, but they worked. If you were lucky enough to be around Jake, you found yourself achieving your full potential. He helped you to become the best you.

He was going to make a great father.

As Jake talked to the kids one of the coaches came up next to her. “You’re a lucky woman, Ms. Mata. He’s one hell of a man.”

“Thank you, and yes, I couldn’t agree more,” Lisa said.

The coach hesitated for a moment but finally said, “I, uh, I saw your work. Um, in the swimsuit edition, I mean. It was...pretty amazing.”

“Oh, that, thank you. That’s nice of you to say. Yeah, you know, I liked those shots too. I thought it was some of my best work,” Lisa said.

“Do you think you will get back to modeling?” he asked. “I mean, after.” He motioned to her tummy.

When he asked she felt a kick inside her and she put a hand on her tummy to quiet it. Get back to modeling? Maybe. Who could say? But she would soon have her hands full, that much she knew.

There was a fighter in there.
