Hurrying to get into position, Kade rearranged himself until in the modified presentation position Deacon preferred. He lowered his head and focused on Deacon’s feet. He’d never really thought much of feet until Deacon, but his Dom kept the nails well-trimmed, and the light dusting of hair and the strength evident even there made being at Deacon’s feet pleasant.

After a few minutes, Deacon finally broke the silence. “What had you so distressed when you arrived, boy? And do not lie to me. You already admitted something upset you yesterday and still had you scared today.”

The command in Deacon’s tone made his cock try to harden; it couldn’t in its cage, but that didn’t change how his voice always affected Kade. “I’m sorry, Sir. I shouldn’t have yelled at you earlier or disrespected your father’s offering.”

“The only person you hurt was yourself, boy.”

Kade closed his eyes as he fought the nerves threatening again. “I wanted to ask you something and have been, um, concerned with your answer.”

“I would say getting you to answer me is like pulling teeth, but I think that’s slightly off considering your occupation,” Deacon said, humor clear in his voice. “What did you wish to ask? I cannot imagine what it could be to warrant your actions earlier.”

“Will… would you go to Fierce with me sometime?” Kade forced out, his words running together until it sounded like one long word.

at Kade, dumbfounded. All this freaking out over going to a club? “Huh. And you thought I would be angry with you?” The idea that he would be upset with his boy over such a huge step was ludicrous.

Kade nodded and took a shuddering breath. “I know it’s probably stupid, but if we go, together, others might… I don’t know. I remember how things were when I did try early on after I wound up in the chair. I do not want to humiliate you in front of the other Doms,” he continued, his voice cracking at the end.

Considering everything from the evening—the shudders, trembling, and the stories of how Kade had been treated by others—Deacon turned over different thoughts on how to answer his boy. Taking Kade to the club? Showing off his delicious sub sounded like a great idea, but the level of fear Kade was expressing worried him. He reached out, threading his fingers through Kade’s hair, tugging on the longer top strands a moment. “And what happened yesterday to make you panic about a question you hadn’t even asked yet, boy?”

“I talked to Jake and told him what I was going to do. He was thrilled and wanted to tell Sam.” Kade leaned into Deacon’s touch, a soft sigh escaping. “I made him promise not to, not until I asked you.”

“Okay, I can understand you wanting to be the first to mention your wish to me, but instead of panicking, you should have talked to me. I would like to take you to the club.”

Kade’s head snapped up, but he looked no higher than midchest. “Really? You, you would?”

The longing in Kade’s voice, mixed with the hope, broke Deacon’s heart all over again. He could not understand why someone as devoted and loving as Kade hadn’t been claimed already but was thankful. “Of course, I would. Taking you some place where we can be who we truly are without concern of others would make me very happy, boy.”

When Kade suddenly bent forward, Deacon reached for him but stopped when Kade caught himself, then lowered his head to first Deacon’s left, and then right foot, placing a soft kiss on the top of each in turn. “Thank you, Sir.”

Deacon stared for a moment in shock. While other boys he’d had over the years had often done such as that, he’d never expected Kade to. When Kade pushed to right himself, Deacon helped him back to his position, then bent and brushed a soft kiss against Kade’s lips. “We will go tomorrow night, but I believe I would like to decorate your beautiful back prior to then.”

The sharply indrawn breath and soft whimper from Kade made Deacon even harder. “Please, Sir. Will—can—um,” Kade stumbled over his words before cutting himself off and biting his bottom lip.

“Can you what?”

“I know it won’t be very visible, but part of my back is exposed above the low back of my chair.” Kade paused again. His hands flexed and grasped tighter repeatedly even as he maintained his form, hands clasped on to the opposite elbows, arms folded behind his back.

“Hmm?” He wasn’t about to make this part easy. Kade had to learn to voice his wishes instead of fearing or being ashamed of them.

“No shirt. When we go inside the club. Will you allow me to show the welts you said you wanted to give me?” Kade whispered, his face flushing red from the tip of his ears to the neckline of his button-down.

“That you wish to wear my marks proudly pleases me greatly, boy. Yes, once inside Fierce, you will wear your bracelet, cage, and pants only. Everything else will be removed. But for now, I wish to work on those decorations I mentioned.” Tipping Kade’s head up, Deacon pressed his lips against Kade’s, demanding entrance. Sweeping inside as soon as Kade opened, Deacon took possession of every part he could taste as he bit and devoured those luscious lips of his boy’s.

Eventually, he pulled back, both of them panting. “When we get upstairs, you are to strip, choose which implements I will use on your lovely back, and then get into position.” Deacon leaned in, putting his lips next to Kade’s ear and adding, “You will scream for me before you find any release, boy. I want to hear your cries and taste your need.”

next to Deacon in his car, nearly vibrating with nerves, feeling both scared and excited. Kade could already see the front of Club Fierce ahead and knew Jake waited inside to help him and lead them to Sam and his table. As he’d gotten ready, Kade had taken the time to admire his back, loving how heavy-handed Deacon had been the night before. The flogger marks had mostly faded, but the welts from the caning were still quite pronounced. Kade did not know if anyone else would care, but he did, and he knew Jake, and probably Sam, would admire his Dom’s work.

“Something wrong, boy?” Deacon asked from behind the wheel. “You whimpered.”

“No, no, Sir. Was just thinking about last night,” Kade explained, smiling. Even better, maybe, than the way Deacon had bound and tormented him was how he’d cared for him after. As he’d come back to himself from the bliss of nothingness, Deacon had been massaging some kind of lotion into his back, soothing, yet causing small bites of pain to flare at the same time. Deacon had even brought him hot tea for his throat—he had screamed like Deacon promised—before holding him tight as they fell asleep.

Deacon chuckled as he turned into the reserved parking spot marked for special guests. “I’ll get your chair. Once inside, you know what I expect.”

“Yes, Sir. Pants, cage, and jewelry only.” It didn’t take long for him to transfer to his wheelchair and for them to enter the club.

Jake waited inside, grinning when they approached. “Welcome back to Club Fierce, Deacon, Kade. Sam is awaiting you at our table, if you wish to go ahead. I’ll help Kade; then we’ll join you.”

“Thank you, Jake. Boy, be good. Do not make me wait too long.” Deacon pressed a kiss to the top of Kade’s head, then headed the rest of the way inside.

“Come on,” Jake said, shaking Kade out of his staring.

Kade wasn’t scared Deacon had left, he just wanted to be with him. They moved to a side area for coats and removed his T-shirt and shoes, leaving him in only the low-rise jeans Deacon had picked out, and his accessories.

“Oh, those are lovely.” Jake’s fingers lightly traced one of the welts on Kade’s back. “No wonder he wants you to show off your back.”

Kade nodded, happier than he could remember being. “Actually, I asked if I could go without a shirt and that’s what he gave me in return.” Looking around, Kade leaned in, pulling Jake down so no one could overhear them. “Thank you for encouraging me to come back here.”

“You’re welcome, but come on. Let’s get to our Sirs and see what they’re up to, shall we?”

Entering the main part of Club Fierce was a bit surreal for Kade. In many ways, the club was the same: the stage, the corridors leading to the semiprivate and private room, the dance floor and bar. But in others it was very different: brighter, not smoky, and bouncers wandering inside, not just at the door. Kade even recognized a few of the faces, well, of the ones not masked. Even in a safe place like this, many didn’t wish to reveal who they were for fear of reprisals in the outside world.

As they approached the table, Kade noticed more and more people looking his way, but he was determined not only to enjoy the evening but to make Deacon proud. He kept his head down mostly, carefully maneuvering through the crowd, happy when they finally reached Deacon and Sam. He parked his chair next to Deacon, then shifted forward, folding his arms behind his back, clasping opposite elbows.

Deacon rested his hand on Kade’s shoulder a moment before slipping up to pet and toy with his hair. Deacon and Sam chatted about the club and their visit.

“Kade?” Sam said after a little while. “I wish to see Deacon’s handiwork.”

Kade raised his head, looking to Deacon, though not meeting his eyes. At Deacon’s nod, Kade turned his chair around and backed up so Sam could look. He bit back a moan when Deacon pressed on the welts.

“Next time we get together,” Sam said, his voice deeper, smoother somehow, “I think we should decorate our pets together. What do you think, Deacon?”

“Would you like that, boy?” Deacon pushed on the welts again, smiling when Kade moaned aloud. “To share with Jake and Jake with you? Sam’s more preferential to the crop, but I’m willing to bet you would love how the bite of the cane feels after the burn of the crop.”

Unable to speak, Kade nodded, his gaze flicking to Jake. Jake was in his own world right then as Sam took the chance to pinch and twist Jake’s nipples, hard.

Once they’d been allowed to settle down some, and Kade was back beside Deacon, a few Doms stopped by to visit. Each, for the most part, ignored Kade, and even Jake to a point, except for one he didn’t know the name of.

“Master Deacon?” the man said. “Would you object if I looked at your marks on the boy here?”

“Hmm? Oh, no, go ahead. No touching anywhere there’s clothing, though.”

Deacon watched as the unnamed Dom said, “Shift forward a little and move your arms.”

Kade did as requested, mildly confused but pleased someone had noticed his stripes.

“Excellent control you have, and such a beautiful boy you have to wear them,” the man said to Deacon. Kade’s heart swelled a bit at the praise. He knew his Sir was skilled, but he loved hearing others compliment his work—and his boy.

A little later, a Dom named Rave stopped and asked to speak directly to Kade. “It’s good to see you back at the club. You were missed by many when you dropped out of the scene.”

Startled, Kade looked up, not thinking about protocol. “What?” Dropping his eyes but not taking his gaze of the man, Kade added, “Master Rave.”

“I remember you well from a few years ago, but then you disappeared. A few of us wondered where you’d gone, but then we heard you’d been hurt.”

Kade nodded, swallowing hard.
Rave, Master Rave
, remembered? “I, um,” he stuttered, gesturing to his chair.

“I know, boy. Do not worry; I’m only disappointed you never came back. Deacon’s a lucky man,” Rave added before he excused himself.

Kade stared after Rave, confused.
Deacon was lucky?
That made no sense. Kade was the lucky one, lucky to find a Dom who was willing to be with him, accepting his limitations but constantly pushing Kade to find ways around them. Allowing Kade to serve as he craved to do.

If Kade was honest with himself, he knew he was falling for his Dom and lover, and things like the night before and the outing to the club gave Kade hope he wasn’t the only one on this free fall.

“What’s wrong?” Deacon asked a short time later. “Did Rave upset you?”

Shaking his head, he replied, “No. I just don’t understand what he said. But it wasn’t bad.”

“Okay. If you want to talk about it, I’ll listen, but I won’t demand.”

Kade thanked him, needing time to think about the idea that there were other Doms, other Masters, that might have wanted him. He looked back to Deacon, but the only Dom he wanted was his Sir. He’d liked playing with Sam the one time, and looked forward to the earlier mentioned playtime, but he realized he didn’t want anyone but Deacon. His Sir was whom he craved. Shaking off the strange revelations, Kade tried to pay better attention to their visitors.

“I’m going to get us another round of drinks,” Deacon said, standing. “Stay here with Jake.” Deacon gave Kade another kiss to his temple, as he had off and on all night, and then strode away. Sam had stepped away a few minutes before, something about an issue at the door.

“Having fun?” Jake asked. He was still kneeling where Sam had left him and seemed perfectly content to wait.

Kade nodded. “I am. Much more than I would have expected, actually. Thank you for this.”

“I didn’t do anything but invite you. And I saw Master Rave talking with you. He’s one of the ones who’d asked about you before.”
