She was falling for him. As unlikely as it seemed, having known him for only a few hours, it was true. And he’d let her go today, or tomorrow, at the latest. But before he did, she wanted to show him why she was the only woman he’d ever need to love him again. Forever.

She gripped him tightly and he tried to thrust in her hands until she placed one of her own hands on his stomach. He stopped moving and she repositioned herself to run her tongue along the underside of his cock. An almost animalistic growl escaped him when she bit the tip, and she plunged down on him.

One hand remained on his stomach while she placed the other on his thigh. The rhythmic motion of her head moved his cock in and out of her mouth. The tension in his muscles was immense. He was on the edge, ready to explode any moment. His breath came in rasps.

She pulled up only to plunge down on him again. This time, she let her teeth rake his skin until he was completely inside her mouth, and his control broke. The roar pierced her ears and he thrust into her mouth. If she hadn’t been expecting it, he might have choked her, but she did, and it was what she wanted him to do. To lose a little control with her like she’d lost with him. He bucked a few more time, each thrust spilling more of his seed.

Then when his body slowed, she moved her hands down to his balls, and started massaging him. His muscles tensed again, and his cock stayed firm inside her mouth as she swirled her tongue around the tip.

He twisted under her. “Sara, I can’t. It’s too soon,” he said.

She ignored him and squeezed his balls again. A tremble moved through his body. Laurent edged closer to another orgasm, and she knew exactly how she wanted to make him come. She stood and pivoted to the nightstand next to his bed and opened the drawer. A box of condoms sat inside next to a few books. She unwrapped one and rolled it onto him.

“My hands,” said Laurent. She smiled and straddled him, sliding his cock slowly into her pussy. A wave of pleasure shot straight up her spine as he pierced her and she dropped her chest over his face, pushing one her breast into his mouth.

He sucked on her nipple and pulled hard at his restraints. Her body moved up and down on his shaft to match his own thrusting. Pressure built inside her body and she held back the rising tide of pleasure. His hips bucked strongly and she moved her hands up over his head to undo the knot holding him.

The second his hand were free, he grabbed her hips and flipped her over so she was on her back. He surged into her. Sweat dripped from his forehead onto her breasts and the fire in his eyes seared her skin. She pulled him in for a kiss and then with one final, powerful thrust they came apart. He bucked into her, two, three, four times, and then went still. They held onto their kiss a minute more until he rolled off to her side, both of their chests heaving, their bodies spent.

Laurent stared at the ceiling. The spasms in his muscles hadn’t subsided as he pulled Sara into his arms, nestling her head on his chest. She snuggled against him, like it was the most natural place for her to be, and closed her eyes. Her breathing slowed and the quakes in his body slowly ended.

He had brought her back to his home for sex, but never in all his years had any woman ever done that to him before. Multiple orgasms weren’t new to him, but one coming so fast on the heels of the one before had never happened. On a good night he needed at least ten to fifteen minutes before he felt confident enough to preform again. But Sara had ignored what he thought was the basic recuperation needs of any man, and drove him into two consecutive orgasms more intense than any he had had since he was a teen looking for his first pussy.

Then the light bondage and show she’d put on for him. At the restaurant, when he pegged her as a bit repressed, he never expected that she would come at him like she did. Even as she danced, and he held back his urge to tear out of his binding, he saw the doubt and fear etched in her face. Dancing for him had been incredibly difficult for her, and he loved how she moved past that insecurity for him.

She really was an angel sent to him, and he intended to do everything he could to show that to her. He didn’t want her to leave. Somehow he needed to convince her that staying with him in New Orleans was the right thing to do. He stroked her hair and watched as her breathing quieted further and he knew she had fallen asleep. As gently as he could, he pulled the covers over both of them. For all the show of her being a businesswoman, and for all the crazy sex they’d had, something weighed her down emotionally. She needed this rest as much as anything. He let her sleep and he closed his eyes while keeping her nestled against his chest.

Chapter 17

Warmth wrapped around her. A hard mass lay against her back and her eyes fluttered open to the view of Laurent’s bedroom. Memories came flooding back as she remembered what happened after she went to see him at his restaurant. Mind blowing sex and then she’d fallen asleep.

Her body lay curled up against him. She felt his breath tickle the back of her neck. His arm draped across her stomach, holding her gently. He hadn’t moved or disturbed her since she went to sleep. She tried moving his arm to get out of bed, but she stopped when he stirred.

Everything that had happened shocked and frightened her. How had she lost control so quickly and easily with him? The idea that she had started falling in love with him was so self-destructive, but she had. She could talk it out with herself later. Now she had to leave before he woke and she ended up falling deeper. As long as he slept, then he couldn’t charm her with his rich voice and disarming manner. She could get up, get dressed, and get back to the hotel before he ever realized that she’d left. Then he couldn’t break her heart. She’d do it to herself.

There was still the matter of dinner tonight, when he could corner her again, and with her sisters as witnesses, but she could solve that too. It was never going to happen. Whatever protests Alicia gave, she’d ignore, and they’d just go somewhere else to eat for their first sister’s night out together.

She needed to be quick or he’d wake. One. Two…

“Gumbo,” he said and her blood froze. His hand moved from her stomach, cupped a breast and she relaxed into his chest.

“What?” she asked.

“Tonight for dinner with your sisters. You should have our gumbo. I make the best in New Orleans,” he said and then he moved her around to face him.

She looked up in his eyes, warm and caring, and she realized that she could never leave his home because she was home. In a single afternoon he’d snuck past every fence that she had erected and stolen her heart. She was the fool for allowing it, because he’d toss her aside when he was done with her.

“Gumbo sounds great,” she said, knowing she had lost her battle to resist him. “I should probably get back to my sisters so they know I’ve made dinner plans.”

Laurent moved his body over her and kissed her. “Of course,” he said. “But not just yet.” And then his slid down under the covers and she arched her back with a moan the instant his tongue lapped at her sex.

Laurent hustled into

with Sara at his side. She hadn’t had time to actually go back to the hotel. When they had finished their third round of lovemaking, they had checked the time. They had slept over six hours and it was already early evening. Sara had called both her sisters, but neither of them picked up. So she did the next best thing, she left messages for each of them, and prayed that they had taken the initiative to come to the restaurant on their own.

He blamed himself. His overriding goal to keep Sara with him for the day had delayed her attempts to contact her sisters and give them dinner details.

A small crowd had already formed at the restaurant and the host greeted him as he entered. “Hey boss. Jullian’s looking for you in the kitchen.”

Laurent forced a smile. He expected that. When he met Sara, he had gotten out of the restaurant so quickly that he’d left his phone in the office. No one had any idea how to reach him without it. While he was with Sara, he preferred it that way, but now he had to catch up with anything he missed over the last few hours.

“I’ll get right back there,” he said, motioning to Sara. “This is Sara Canning. She’ll be in room two tonight with two guests. But I’m going to give her a kitchen tour first.”

The host and Sara shook hands, Sara looking slightly embarrassed. “I’ll get the room ready right away,” said the host grabbing some menus and heading off.

“I thought we agreed that we would eat in the main dining area since there are three of us,” she said.

Laurent smiled and touched his hand to her back. The questioning look on her face melted away and they headed to the kitchen.

“I think you’ll like my staff,” he said, holding the door open for her.

“Jullian,” he called out, and his sous chef popped his head out from behind a counter. Jullian wiped his hands clean, and then walked up to Sara. “Are you the reason my boss has been AWOL all day?” he asked, a bigger smile on his face than Laurent cared to see.

“Sorry if I kept him from important work,” she said.

“Nothing I couldn’t handle on my own,” he said. Then he looked over at Laurent, before adding. “Except the tourist bureau.”

Laurent’s eyebrows went up a notch. “What have they been calling for?”

Jullian snorted. “Pictures. What else? I’m surprised they aren’t here by now.”

Laurent felt Sara tense up beside him. “Do we really have to do the photos?” she asked.

“The tourist bureau likes to take photos of all the contest winners for their monthly newsletter,” he said. He cursed himself for not reminding her and not giving her time to get some clothes that were less formal. “I hope it’s not a problem for you or your sisters.”

“No, it’ll be fine. I should have remembered,” she said.

Jullian moved an inch closer to Sara. “For a beautiful woman like you, the camera will fall in love. But if you have any problems, then I’m sure Laurent will deal with them for you,” he said and then smiled again. “And if he doesn’t then you just come to me and I’ll will and show you how a woman like you should be treated.”

Sara gave a forced laugh. Laurent felt the air from the room suck out; Jullian looked quickly back and forth between the Sara and Laurent.

“Or maybe I should just get back to my order before Laurent decides love is greater than friendship and fires me,” he said.

“It is,” said Laurent, lips thin.

Jullian threw his hands up. “Don’t worry about me boss, I’ve always got your back,” he said walking back to his station. The other chefs in the room looked on in shock and Jullian waved them all back to work, then he looked back to Sara. “I never got your name,” he said.

“Sara,” said Laurent.

“I’m sure they’ll be here any minute,” said Sara to the photographer. Sara checked her phone for the tenth time in five minutes, but no new messages, from either Alicia or Erica, had shown up. Normally she would be worried that neither of her sisters were answering her calls. But once she finally got ahold of them, they’d call her out on her own behavior, disappearing for an entire day. She wanted to delay that conversation for as long as possible.

She sipped on some lemon water and sat uncomfortably while the photographer finished setting up her camera. The private rooms were more spacious than she expected. They almost had the feel of a residential dining room with a large table centered under a chandelier. Leather chairs sat in the corners for guests to relax more comfortably as they socialized in between courses. A faux fireplace completed the ambiance. A closable serving window separated this room from the kitchen, but it blended in well with the other decor.

Laurent had surprised her again with his insistence on keeping with the original prize of a private dining room. She supposed, in his mind, this upgrade from their deal compensated her for the sex, but then she remembered how he reacted in the kitchen. In high school she had seen only a few fistfights between boys over a girl, and the look on Laurent’s face when Jullian hit on her, had floored her. If they were all still in school, she had no doubt it would have come to blows between the two friends.

Her mouth ticked up. She’d never been fought over. Her past with boys, and now men, didn’t have anyone who wanted to fight for her. More often than she cared to admit, she’d been used then cast aside.

Laurent had proudly walked with her in town, and then shut down his number two when he tried cozying up to her. As much as he had acted differently than any other man in her past, Sara knew it wouldn’t last. Great, amazing, wonderful men, that also sizzled in bed, just didn’t go for a woman like her. The time when she would get hurt by him got closer every moment they spent together, but she couldn’t bring herself to break free and leave. He’d gotten inside her faster than any man, and now she wanted him around. For as long as he’d have her.

She checked her phone again. “Maybe I should leave another message,” she said, and started dialing.

The door opened and Laurent walked in. “Still no luck reaching them?” he asked.

She hung up when the voicemail answered and shook her head.

“So are we taking any pictures or not?” asked the photographer.

Sara hated being in the spotlight and she rubbed her hands together. “Well I guess I could just order for myself…” she said, looking from the photographer to Laurent.

Laurent turned to the photographer. “Can you take your photos on the move?” he asked.

“Of course, but we’re in a small room. The tripod works better,” she said.

“I’m not talking about in here,” said Laurent. “I have a better idea.” Then he turned to Sara. “You up to getting your hands a little dirty?” he asked.

She nodded.

“Then let’s turn this dinner prize into another cooking lesson. We’ll make something together and the bureau can photograph that instead of you eating alone,” he said. He took one of her hands. Warmth flowed into her body and pushed out all the doubts she had been having.
