CHAPTER
ELEVEN
When she returned before she could say anything Damian threw her up against the wall and whispered, “You don’t know how much I think about you. I keep making these elaborate plans and promises to myself to go slow with you
, to draw out the pleasure, then as soon as I lay eyes on you - or get within two feet of you - ”
“Things explode - we explode.”
“Exactly.”
Jillian smiled, “Fast and furious works for me, too, but first I must talk to you
- ”
Damian cut Jillian off by planting his lips on hers and passionately kissing her. He didn’t let her up for air for the next ten minutes. But after that she said, “Seriously, Damian, we
have to talk.”
“Wait
, before you say anything. This is only my flight school ring, but I promise to get you a nicer one if you accept this one. Marry me.”
Jillian’s eyes grew wide. She hesitated, what she had to say would no doubt kill the mood.
“Don’t answer that.
” Damian said. “Come back later, tonight in my quarters, we’ll have dinner. And I’ll do this the right way.”
Jillian arrived at Damian’s cabin at six sharp. He opened the door and when they saw each other, Jillian took in a sharp breath and Damian’s mouth hung open. Jillian had on a red slinky dress with very low cleavage and her blond hair hung soft and loose around her face. Damian’s face was shaved and he wore his uniform. Each was stunned at the other’s appearance.
Damian appeared flabbergasted. “You look
- ”
“Hot?” Jillian put her hands on her waist and tipped her hips to one side.
“I was going to say feminine.”
“Well, that works too.”
“But hot? Hell, yes.” He gave her his roguish smile.
“And you look
- ” Jillian’s gaze raked over him appreciatively.
“Devilishly handsome?”
“I was going to say professional, but devilishly handsome works too.”
Damian continued to look her up and down, unable to take his eyes off her. “You know this is the first time I’ve seen you out of uniform.”
“Well, that’s not strictly true.” Jillian smirked and batted her eyelashes at him.
Damian came towards her with a leering look. Laughing she backed up a few steps until she couldn’t go any further. He leaned against the wall with one arm and played with the hem of her dress. His fingers pulling the edge up slowly, giving her a sexy smile. She expected him to go for her breasts first, men being predictable. But instead he kneeled down in front of her, his eyes never leaving hers. He lifted up her skirt slowly and ran a hand up her thigh.
Jillian
couldn’t cover her surprise. Damian lifted her leg, placing it over his shoulder as he brought his lips to her body. Jillian was amazed at his self-control, his inventiveness, and his selflessness. She ran her fingers through Damian’s hair as his hands were stroking and gripping her behind. Overwhelmingly incredible sensations flowed through her. She tried to grip the wall as her breaths came faster.
Much later, after wine and dinner, Damian knelt before her
again. “Jillian, will you marry me?” His smile turned to disappointment, his face hardening in anger as the long, silent pause continued.
“We have to talk.”
CHAPTER TWELVE
“I thought you said you wanted to be with me?” Damian was angry. And justifiably so.
“I d
o.” Jillian held his hands as he sat next to her.
“Then quit him. Just be with me.”
The ring was still in his hands.
“There are unusual circumstances,” Jillian began and explained the whole soul mate thing.
“He will die if he doesn’t have you?”
“Most likely, but even if he lives, he’ll never have anyone else. He can never love another, or have children. If I am not with him then he’s alone for the rest of his life, however short that probably will be. I can’t help but feel incredibly guilty. His choice was made for him by me I took away any chance of him meeting someone else. He could have had some Antarean woman to live his life with if it wasn’t for my stupidity.” She paused letting it sink in. “He says he’s willing to share.”
“That makes him a better man than me? I want you for myself, no, I won’t share and you shouldn’t ask me. What kind of wimp agrees to sharing? I’ll kick his ass. That’s being a man, let’s just fight it out.”
Jillian quieted her voice in an attempt to calm him. “Stop
, just for a moment. Think for one minute.”
“I don’t want to
, I want to punch something.”
“Listen, honey, put yourself in his shoes
for two seconds, if it’s share or have nothing at all you can understand why he is willing. It’s also why I don’t want to hurt him or abandon him. I did this to him it was my foolish choice to do what I did.”
“You thought you were helping.”
“Doesn’t change the fact I am his one and only whether I stay with him or not. What if it was you and we had only this and I was going to walk away because he wouldn’t share?
Is that what you’re going to do to him?”
Damian looked down, hands on his hips, “This is impossible.” Then without warning, he punched a fist into the wall. He jumped back holding his hand and grimacing in severe pain.
“You’re so stupid, are you happy now?”
“Actually, I do feel a little better.”
Jillian hugged him. “I’m sorry this is so complicated. I wish it w
ere easier, but this is what it is, I can’t wish it away.”
“I’m not going to be sitting around waiting for you while you’re
gone for you knows how long. Thinking about you being away from me for days at a time will drive me mad.”
“Well
, you wouldn’t lose any time with me. Within Antares time passes much slower. It’s almost like time travel. I could go there and return to you with virtually no time lost. And you wouldn’t have to know or hear anything about him, I promise. Is what we have worth saving? To me it is.”
He looked like steam could conceivably come out his ears. “Wait
, are you saying you are going to marry me?”
“Yes.”
She grinned
“And him?”
“We’re sort of already.”
“What? When did this happen?”
“I guess the first time we- I - you know.” She shrugged. “They call it being matched up. Apparently there’s no undoing it.”
He shook his head, “what a woman.”
“You agree?”
Damian threw his hands in the air. “Okay, I’ll give it a shot.”
“Oh, I love you so much
! Let’s have the oral sex!”
“What?”
Damian asked. But Jillian was already on her knees unzipping, unbuckling and pulling down his pants.
“Well, if I knew it was going to get this response
- ” His comments were cut off as Jillian took his full length in her mouth. He was unable to speak at all for the next fifteen minutes, but after that time he managed to squeak out a thank you.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
A year later both men were with Jillian, one on each side of her, having arrived at an uneasy
, but important truce as she gave birth to twin boys - one Antarean, one human. The boys were named Patrick, after Damian’s father and Shuldray after Tae’s father. Both boys were raised together with her and Damian. And then at times Jillian and Dray would join Tae in his world, but always returning with no time lost.
