Chloe clapped with glee. “Thank you!” she cried.

“Don't mention it,” said Morris's daddy. “Now, after so much excitement, I think we all deserve a treat.”

“Treat! Treat!” Morris cried.

“We shall have a picnic,” Morris's daddy declared, and all the other mice started to cheer. “And, Chloe, you must be our very special guest.”

Chloe was so happy she thought she might burst. What a magical day it had been! She might not have found any lions, but she had certainly found plenty of new friends.

It was lovely living in Misty Wood.
