Callen was thrilled too. “Cat has a
sister.”

The man handed them the pictures and rushed out of the room
, obviously trying to escape.

It made Elizabeth snicker. “You two scared him
shitless,” she said, winking.

“Next time
, we’ll be a little calmer,” Callen stated.

“Yeah,” added Blackhawk.
“For the next baby, I’ll be happy with whatever we get.”

“What?” she stated, incredulously. “What next time?”

“For baby number five,” Callen added. “It’s my turn next,” he said, rubbing his hands together.

“Uh, news flash, we’re done
after this.”

They stared at her.

Ethan disagreed. “We can’t be done. We need a tie breaker. I do believe I warned you that I wanted a brood.”

She
stared at them like they had lost their minds. “What tie is there to break?”

“We have two boys,” Callen said.

“And now two girls,” Ethan added.

They had to be kidding. “You two are out of your damn minds!” she replied.

Out in the parking lot, Ethan Blackhawk swung her up into his arms and kissed her wildly. Once he released her, he stared into her eyes. “I’m crazy about you.”

Then
, he tossed her without any warning.

She shrieked.

Callen caught her and grinned wickedly as people walking around them stared at the spectacle they were creating. Apparently, two large Native men, playing catch with a woman, was something to behold. “I’m out of my mind and in love with you.”

“No more kids!” she repeated, as they
continued taking turns tossing her back and forth.

“We’ll talk about it in six months,” Blackhawk reassured.

“Ethan!”

He just laughed.

Not only was he back, but he had his fondest wished granted. “Thank you, Granddad!” he said, believing that the man had something to do with it.

When the chimes sounded, they all stopped and looked around.

Then…

They laughed.

The Blackhawk boys and their babe were back on track.

Nothing could stop them now.

Meanwhile….

Handling the dead was a solemn job.

It was one that he took very serious. There was nothing more important than sending the dead to meet their maker. Like so many cultures before
them, death was a sacred thing.

It took patience.

It took perseverance.

It took skill.

When one handled the dead, there couldn’t be a rush to get them into the ground. There should be some sort of respect as each corpse was lovingly wrapped and prepared. This was a skill that took years to perfect.

You know what they say about practice making perfect. Well, this was case in point. When he first gave them the gift of death, it was his job to follow it up with the gift of a decent burial. There couldn’t be one without the other.

Right?

Some might look at him as a reaper, or a stealer of souls, but he saw the truth. He was balancing the scales of justice, when no one else would take on the task.

This was his calling.

In life
, his victims had been above reproach, or so they said, but in death he made them saints. In the years to come, they would unearth his treasures and tell the tale of what his chosen ones were truly like.

Maybe the glory wouldn’t be his for now, but one day it would shine on him. He knew it to be true.

He was special.

It was burned into his soul.

When he embalmed them, he was careful to do it perfectly and with just enough tender loving care. After all, everyone deserved dignity in life, even if they didn't deserve it in death.

For now, he would speak for the dead
, and hopefully, the living would one day understand.

He saw it clearly.

Before they died, he made them see it too.

Pulling her heart from her chest, he dropped it into the jar and shoved it violently back between her ribs.

Here is where it would stay, locked away from the world until centuries from now.

As he stared down at her face, he felt no remorse, since his body was empty of all emotion. To be the reaper, one had to let it all go.

“Go to your maker,” he said, dropping a kiss to her forehead.

With that
, he wrapped her body in the fragrant strips of linen that he had so meticulously prepared.

It was time to say his goodbye.

“What’s that?” he asked, talking to no one in particular as he continued to work.

In his mind he heard her speaking,

“Why do you ask?”

His laughter filled his little work room as he contemplated the best answer to give her.

Finally, he had it.

“That’s easy to answer
. It’s simply time, because your
Redemption is Here
…”

Dear Reader,

Thank you for joining me on this journey! I hope that you enjoyed Chris and Cyra’s love story. Don’t worry. There’s more to come. I love Doctor Leonard and plan on keeping him in the story line for the rest of the series.

Every day, I get emails from you the reader asking about the new characters and my other books, so I’m taking this time to tell you what’s on the horizon.

In the coming books, we’re going to meet Doctor Zane Legend and a few more interesting characters. Tony Magnus is going to get his girl, and she’s going to be a handful… As for Ethan, Elizabeth, and Callen, there’s more coming too. In fact, you’re going to get a little more Gabriel Rothschild and Livy, while we touch on Elizabeth’s past. Everyone always asks for more backstory on them, and I’m going to give you what you want.

In this book, I’ve introduced you to Doctor Callista Gaines, and if you’re the least bit curious where she came from, you can read her story this year when I release
Sinner Repent
. It’ll give you her backstory and be the first book in the Carter Chronicles trilogy.

I think you’ll like her, and her love interest Quin
ton.

I loved her so much
that she was given her own set of stories. That doesn’t happen often with me. Although, I also gave Julian and Tori Littlemoon their own series too, and they’re story is continued in
Blood Red Rage.

Last, but not least, I get asked a great deal about Christina and what happened to her. Well, if you read
the second book in the Littlemoon Investigations series,
Lost & Broken
, you’ll have your answer.

Recently, I was talked into releasing the deleted sex scenes from the books. It took a great deal of consideration before I finally agreed. Now, these won’t add or detract from the storylines, so fear not. If the sex in my books is just right for you, by all means skip the anthologies. BUT, if you really want to read about the fantasies and sexual scenarios that often come up in my books, please read them. The first volume will be dedicated to fantasies. It will have the nine couples from my books, and their ‘interludes’. Like what you ask? Well, for example Elizabeth and her ‘ravage the savage’ fantasy, but with a twist. There will be Julian and Tori in an on the job meeting that may raise your blood pressure. These compilations are just little snippets of stories that didn't make the main
storylines. There won’t be suspense, only a look behind closed doors. So, if you’re intrigued then look for
Illegal Fantasies- Behind Closed Doors
(Volume one) later this spring.

Thank you for your dedication, emails, and comments. I appreciate all of them. Please head on out to Amazon and leave a review
for this book. If you want the stories to keep coming, I need your feedback, as do my editors and proof readers. Take a few minutes to review all the books that you’ve read.

Elizabeth would love you for it, and so will I.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
