They walked outside.  The sun was shining and there was a breeze blowing, but the day was warming up.  Danni ran her hand over a bike that hand belonged to one of the dead Rattlers.  It wasn’t a large bike, perfect for her size.  She claimed it as her own and loved every inch of it.  It belonged just to her, a little piece of the world no one could take from her.

“There’s a lot of work to do.  With the club and with us,” said Mercer.

She put her arms around him and kissed him.

“Yeah.  There is a lot of work that needs to be done, but we’ll figure it out.  We always do.”

Danni got on her bike and started the engine.

“You look good on that,” Mercer said.

She turned to him.  With a wink she said, “I look good on anything.”

Mercer laughed and said, “Yeah you do.  I’ll see you at home tonight.”

Danni took off on her new bike, feeling better than she had in weeks.  She rode through the streets of her new town feeling confident, not knowing she was being followed.  The man in the truck kept his distance so he wasn’t noticed, but made sure she never left his line of sight.  He tailed her all the way to her apartment and watched which door she went in.

Fixer grabbed his gun from the glove compartment and walked up the stairs to Danni’s apartment.  He knocked on the door and waited for his revenge.

T
he motorcycle engines roared up the dirt road after traveling a long time.  They had finally reached their destination and pulled up next to an old log cabin.  The four bikers got all of their motorcycles and pulled their hostage off as well.  She was tied up her hands behind her back, a crude mask over her eyes.

The bikers led her down a small dirt lane, pushing her as they went along. She didn’t know where she was, she only knew that they had been riding for hours.  She had been taken from her home and she wondered how long it was going to take anyone to notice  she was gone.

One of the bikers, a man with black hair big mustache, opened the door to the cabin and pushed her inside. They didn’t follow her and and slammed the door behind her.  She managed to get her hands free of the ropes and tore the mask from her face. It was dark inside the cabin, but there was a little light coming from a bare bulb in the ceiling.  It was a one-room cabin, with dust covering every surface. There was a small bed in the corner and the sink on the other side of the room.   Above the sink there was a piece of wood holding several cans of food. She went to the door and tried the handle, but it wouldn’t budge, she was locked inside.

Danny Endres sat on the corner of the bed and thought about how she got there.

Everything was going to be okay. The Black Ice Motorcycle Club felled their enemies, The Rattlers, and Danny and her boyfriend Mercer were on their way to getting the relationship back on track.

It had been a difficult time for them.  Mercer was emerging as the leader of the new Black Ice and had taken Danni with him from their hometown in Tennessee to Rawlins, Montana.  Danni had spent her time becoming increasing lonely as Mercer was more and more distant with his responsibilities to the club.  She had even started to fall for someone else.  Cruz, the handsome but troubled addition to the MC.

All this came at a time when the Rattlers were pushing back against Black Ice.  Fights had broken out in the streets and more than once Danni herself had been threatened.  It all came to a head when the Rattlers attacked the Black Ice headquarters.  The battle had been bloody and savage, but Black Ice had won, killing most of the Rattlers.  The ones who survived had run away and Danni went home that night thinking everything was going to be OK.

Then came the knock at the door.  She opened it with her guard down, and there stood Fixer, the president of the decimated Rattlers MC.  He had long black hair tied into a ponytail with a big drooping mustache.  He flashed her a greasy grin and shoved a large gun into her ribs.

He ordered her to go with him and she had no choice.  He marched her right down the stairs while another Rattler pulled up.  A fat, ugly man by the name of Roscoe.  He had been a member of Black Ice, but his loyalties had turned and he joined their sworn enemy.

Roscoe grabbed Danni and placed her on Fixer’s bike.  They took off and rode out of town, joined by two more Rattlers.  They were all carrying weapons and Danni knew she couldn’t make a run for it.  The road was flat and the land on either side was completely devoid of trees.  If she tried to make a run for it they would have shot her easily.

They didn’t stop for hours, and then it was only to tie her hands and put the mask over her head.  She couldn’t figure out why they had done this until she was sitting alone in the cabin.  They had obviously gone into the woods which would’ve provided Danni with cover if she had tried to run for it.  They wanted to make sure she couldn’t get away or even figure out where she was.

She got off the bed and tried the door again, but the result was the same.  The door was locked.  She tried the window, but it wouldn’t move.  There was no window either.  Besides the door she came in, there was only one door which lead to a small room with a toilet.  There was no shower, but it was a flushable toilet, not an outhouse.  Thank God for small favors, she thought.

Danni didn’t know where she was, but she figured they had gone south.  The air was a little warmer than in Rawlins and the further they rode the more hilly the land became, she had even seen mountains in the distance.  It was possible she was in Colorado, but that was just a guess.  She hadn’t ever been to Colorado and didn’t know much about it’s geography.

Danni didn’t know where she was or what the Rattlers had planned for her, but she was going to escape, that much she did know.  It would take her a little while to figure things out, but she was good on her feet.  She had run a bar for years and the love her life was in a motorcycle gang.  She could take care of herself.

The door opened and Fixer stepped inside.  He gave her that same greasy grin and pulled out a knife.
