I get off the bed to find my clothes when he grabbed me by my wrist
to stop me.
“Cassie
wait! Please,” he said.
“What do you want?” I said annoyingly. It was too late for him to try to spare my feelings. The damage was done.
“I’m out of here.”
“Cassie
wait a fucking second, please. Just listen for a minute,” he demanded. “First of all, you’re not leaving my side tonight.” His words were stern, but his tone was soft. He let go of my wrist and gently grabbed my hand. “I want you here with me. And second, I’m sorry that I brought that out of you to pour your heart out like that,” He took his thumb and wiped the tears from my eyes. “I just feel something with you I can’t explain it. I know we just met, but there’s something.”
I lie back down and got under the covers next to him. He had a way of comforting
a woman.
“Listen, I woke you up because I wanted to talk to you about something.” If he was going to kick me out, he would’ve done so already, this was something else. “I’m starting a small two week tour
tomorrow. Doing spot dates in a few of the metropolitan cities.”
“Oh that’s pretty cool.” I had no idea where this was going.
“It gets pretty lonely on tour and well, I want you to go with me.”
Go
with
him? I couldn’t fix my ears to comprehend his question. He really wanted me to go with him? I barely knew him. This is crazy. Go on some tour with a musician I barely know? Who does he think I am?
I blinked and woke up in a posh hotel in Miami.
