A moment later she pulled away. “What is all this? I thought Gustav was having an opening, and I thought you were in New York.”
His million-dollar teeth flashed as he arched a brow. “Girl, that’s what I wanted you to think.”
“So what’s going on?”
He took her hand and led her to the back of the gallery and away from the windows. There, in one of the side galleries stood a beautiful table set with gorgeous china and a silver candelabra resting inside an elaborate centerpiece of pink and yellow roses. “I thought we needed a special night just the two of us.”
“Natron, it’s lovely. But I’m not really following. I mean, couldn’t we go out to dinner or something? I don’t understand why you had to bring me here, why all the subterfuge? Gustav was in on this, wasn’t he?”
Natron nodded his head in affirmation and held her chair for her as she sat down before taking a seat across from her. As if by magic, a waiter popped out from the back and poured them each a glass of champagne.
“Let’s celebrate.” He raised his glass to her.
Carmen clinked her glass against his. “Okay,” she said and took a sip, the bubbles tickling her tongue. “What are we celebrating, your Super Bowl victory? MVP?”
“Nah, we did that in New Orleans. Tonight is about us. I’ve planned a nice catered dinner. I was going to hire a musician or two, I was thinking about the piano player you like, but we can do that another time. I wanted tonight to be very intimate—just you and me without a lot of distractions.”
They did have a lot of distractions in their life, especially recently. And now that Natron’s star was bright again, that wasn’t liable to change any time soon. How thoughtful of him to plan a private dinner for her.
She grinned at him. “Thanks, Daddy. This was sweet of you.”
“You know, I was going to wait until after dinner to do this, but I can’t hold out that long.” Natron fidgeted in his chair.
Carmen narrowed her eyes. “What are you talking about?”
Natron took her hand in his. “Carmen, do you know why I did all this, tricking you into coming here—to this gallery?”
She shook her head.
“Babygirl, this is where we first met.” He smiled tenderly at her. “The first time I ever saw you, you were hiding in Gustav’s office.”
She rolled her eyes, slightly embarrassed remembering how shy she’d been, how green. It blew her mind to think about how far she’d come since then. Now she was established in her career, her own star was rising, and she was miles more confident than she had been the first night she met Natron. She attributed some of that to Natron’s belief in her and her talent.
“But you impressed me. Your talent blew me away and there was something about you that made me know that I needed you in my life. We’ve been through a lot, you and me, and when I broke my knee I couldn’t have asked for any more support and love than you gave me.”
He chuckled. “Now I know I didn’t make it easy on you. With my mamma driving you crazy, the stupid tabloid fiasco… but baby, you stuck by me through all that, and I know it couldn’t have been easy.”
Natron shifted in his chair and suddenly he was on the floor next to her. Kneeling. Her heart beat loud and fast in her throat and a little thrill danced up her spine.
“Carmen, my beloved babygirl, would you do me the great honor of marrying me?” He slipped a box out of his coat pocket and opened it to display the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen.
“Oh, Natron, it’s lovely!” she said, covering her mouth with her hand.
“Try it on then.” He inched the platinum band onto the ring finger of her left hand and she gazed at the enormous, cushion-cut diamond, its brilliance sparkling up at her.
“It’s perfect,” she said, the corners of her mouth strained, she was smiling so big.
Natron pretended to be offended. “Would you expect anything less?” he teased.
“No, Daddy, I wouldn’t.”
He kissed the top of her hand, then stood up and whisked her into his arms. “Now are you going to give me and answer or are you just gonna leave me hanging?”
“Yes!” she said, throwing her arms around his neck and touching her lips to his.
He kissed her back with as much passion as she’d ever felt from him. He claimed her with his mouth the way she knew he’d claim her body later, and the mixture of love and desire she felt for him made her feel unsteady on her feet. He clutched her to him and she knew she could trust him not to let her fall.
She and Natron fit perfectly together, not only their bodies, but also their personalities, and their hopes and dreams. Carmen had never dreamed she’d have a connection like this with anyone, but she had found it with him. And while she had resisted him when he’d asked her to live with him in the past, now it felt right to move forward together.
He released her and motioned for her to sit down. “We do have some delicious food coming out; sorry I just couldn’t wait. I was gonna be too nervous to eat.”
“Nervous?” Carmen asked.
“Yeah, girl. What if you’d have said no?”
She giggled. “Not likely. I love you, Natron, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
He returned to his seat. “You know, my first instinct was to ask you on television, after we won the Super Bowl, or on late night TV. That’s what I would have done, but see… Daddy’s been listening. I knew you wouldn’t like that, making our relationship all public; you’d think it was a publicity stunt. I’d have to tell other people and they’d know before you.” He sighed. “And you’d hate that. This way the only person who knew anything before you was Gustav and I had to tell him to be able to surprise you, I hope you can forgive that.”
Her heart lurched. He
had
been listening, and he’d created a proposal specifically for her, even though it was him who loved the limelight and all the attention, not her. But in this instance he put her above himself and his desires. “Wow, Daddy. I’m impressed. You know, you’ve really changed.”
He straightened the lapels of his jacket. “Thank you for noticing, babygirl. Now we can start talkin’ ‘bout the basketball team.”
She sputtered as a sip of water went down the wrong pipe. When she’d regained her composure, she asked, “Basketball team?”
“Yeah, you know—five little Natrons running around.” He looked around as if someone else might hear. “You know basketball’s my favorite sport, but don’t tell nobody.”
Carmen just shook her head. It was better than eleven little Natrons running around, which was the number it took to field a football team. She pressed two fingers against her temple. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” she said, though she did like the idea of a mini-Natron.
He threw his hands in the air. “Okay, I’m just teasin’ you. The only thing I need is you. You’ve made me the happiest man in the world tonight. I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you, babygirl.”
The waiter came back out with a plate of appetizers. Natron fed Carmen a jumbo shrimp dipped in the mouth-watering sauce that accompanied it, and she was struck by the fact that her life with Natron was just beginning. A peace she’d never felt before settled over her. There was a palpable contentedness she felt, confident in the knowledge that she would belong to her daddy forever.
Filled with unadulterated happiness, she reached across the table and squeezed his hand.

Daddy Morebucks
From the moment she laid eyes upon him, Marley knew in her heart that James was not just another client, and the difference wasn’t even the large sum of money he offered in return for a single night of submission. No, what set him apart was the fact that when she called James “daddy”, it was her own heart which beat faster and her own body which ached with need.
After that night, Marley does her best to put all thought of him behind her, using the huge payday he provided to get on her feet again and start over… until James knocks on her door and walks right back into her life. He makes her a simple offer: if she will live with him and submit to him whenever he wishes, he will provide for her every desire.
Even before she accepts his offer, Marley knows that what she truly wants is not money or clothing or even a fancy new car. What she longs for is a daddy who will give his little girl what she really needs… a daddy who will spank her bare bottom when she is naughty, tie her up and take her any way he pleases, and then cuddle her until she falls asleep in his arms. Can she dare to hope that James will be that daddy?

When Frederica Beauchamp boards a ship for the Americas, she dreams of a life filled with adventure, but she gets more than she bargained for when her passenger ship is attacked by pirates. The heartless men kidnap her and force her to serve their captain—a fate that might be worse than death, since though he does not have his way with her, the captain delights in baring her, shaming her, and thrashing her bare bottom as punishment for every imagined disobedience.
After the pirates bring aboard an injured man found floating in the sea, Frederica tends to his wounds and learns that he is Gaston Galette, a survivor of a shipwrecked vessel. Gaston seeks her help to overthrow the vile captain, but when their plan goes awry he is forced to use all of his wiles to save them. As the naïve girl and the seasoned sailor navigate one perilous situation after another, he informs Frederica that the only way they can survive is if he is in command, and that if she thinks things can be otherwise, she will be taken over his knee for a bare bottom spanking.
As he watches the proud, willful Frederica bow to his authority, however, Gaston worries that her growing hold on his heart will be his downfall. He knows he cannot take a woman with him when he returns to his ship and crew, but when Frederica accepts his lustful dominance completely, submitting to him with grace and beauty no other woman could match, Gaston realizes that he may never be able to let her go.
