“Yes…yes…mmm…”

He pushed himself another inch deeper, and another, grabbing mounds of sweaty flesh from her back to steady himself.  Nothing else in sight to grab, she began hammering down on the ground, and pulling grass from its roots, howling with all her power.

“Don’t ever forget who you belong to.”

“Uh huh!  You!  You…oh Gawdd it’s so huge…”

“Now.  Clench together.  Do it.”

“Ohhh ohhh ohhh” she panted, squeezing her inner walls shut and gripping his already thick and expanded penis and making for a tighter squeeze.

“Oh God, I can’t…”

“Hold it.  Hold it.  Just another second.”

“UGnnhhh!” she screamed, tensing her vaginal squeeze with all her might.

“Now let go, now!”

“Ahhhhh!” she screamed, letting go, only to feel more of his monstrous shaft enter her, reaching beyond the G-spot and stimulating another sensitive spot.  “Oh right there…yes!”

“Now take it, show me how much you want it,” he said, thrusting harder.

“Yes!  Oh John, right there—right there!”

He penetrated her hard and fast, working towards a rhythm and ready her for the elusive simultaneous orgasm that he had worked so long to perfect.  He grabbed her by the hair, using the leverage to fuck her with more fury.

They were both dripping in sweat, and inside it was a deluge.  She drenched his shaft so good he felt her wetness all the way out to his scrotum.  She loved when he started losing control.  It was always that moment, right before he announced he was ready to come—that soul-wrenching moment when she could hear his testicles smacking hard against her cheeks.  She creamed him so many layers she could hear every wet popping entry, and that in addition to his violent, angry grunts was too much to bear.

Bear—she giggled, even on the verge of orgasm.  Whatever John Brown was, it wasn’t normal and that’s why she couldn’t bring herself to ever forget him.

John’s orgasm started building and he struggled to grab onto something.  But her back was dripping wet and even her hair was soaked.  He grabbed onto her breasts and held on tight, even while rolling over and putting her on top of him—never stopping his penetration, which seemed to be on auto-pilot, given how fast he was thrusting and how little he even thought about it.

Just on the verge of coming herself, Marionne turned her head to take in John’s sweating, desperate aura.  She loved the feeling of his locks dripping all over her shoulder, his teeth biting her neck in agony.  His smell, his steamy breaths and his imploding voice chanting her name was enough to send Marionne into a full body spasming orgasm.  It rocked her and she responded by clenching down on John’s weakening penis, forcing him to explode, shooting his seed all over her inner walls and streaming all over her wet pubic hair when she released his still-aching hard penis.

“Oh John…why…why does this always happen…” she moaned, still dizzy from one of those parnanormal-quality orgasms he always managed to give her—usually against her will when she was mad as hell and wanting to hate him.

“Why what?”

“I decide I want to leave you and then you bang me silly until I shut up.”

“’Cause that’s the only way you do shut up.”

Too tired and wet to even reach over and smack him one, Marionne took a deep breath and soaked in the afterglow.  Sex with strangers.  Sex with your ex that you hate.  Her love life was far from normal.  But maybe that’s why normal sex with a normal guy isn’t nearly as good.

“I just want it all, JB.  You know me.”

“Yeah?”

“I want you like this.  And I want you to grow up and be a man about it.”

He sighed.  “You know it’s more complicated than that.  I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Hurt me?  You didn’t hurt me.  I’ll take ten more of those any day.”

“You know what I mean!” he said harshly.  “I can’t control it, Marionne.  I don’t know.  I can’t predict when I’m me and when I totally lose it.  You caught me on a damned good night.  That’s all.”

“Maybe sex is what you need to control it.”

“I wish it were that simple,” he said.

So did Jaroth who was still watching from behind the bushes in disbelief.  Oh yeah he watched everything all right, from Marionne’s screaming orgasm to the part about how he’s pretty much nothing compared to her ex—and even the part about John Brown turning back into a bear and mauling someone to death.  Jaroth didn’t take any of that news too well, nope, not at all.

*****

Jaroth was livid and knew no other way of coping with the distressing news than making a big scene right in front of everybody.

“I challenge John Brown to a duel!” he screamed out, making sure everybody in town heard his rousing call to action.  He went from store to store making the announcement heard, and repeating John Brown’s name.

“I know the secret.  John Brown isn’t dead.  He’s alive and he’s in bed with my woman.  His woman, technically, but hell, I’m pretty sure being DEAD invalidates the marital contract.  So John Brown, get your bear ass out here because I’m going to whoop it!”

Some of the townsfolk were laughing hard.  They couldn’t tell if Jaroth was flipping out or if it was some performance art show.  But nothing this big ever happened around little Comanche, so they listened with great interest, probably hoping John Brown showed up at least for the entertainment value.

“John Brown is not a man!  He’s not even human as far as I can see.  And I’m tired of being afraid.  People want to talk about me, and say I’m a coward, well let John Brown come out here and prove it to me face to face.”

News travels fast in a small town and within an hour an old friend called John Brown and let him know some crazy SOB was screaming his name, calling him a bear and wanting to duel him to the death.

John Brown sighed, never really one to fight over a disagreement.  And hell, in this case, Jaroth had a point.  He did kind of screw his ex-wife when he knew she was with a new man.  Is all really fair in love and war?

John Brown looked at his beautiful bride-that-was, she every bit as naked as himself, sitting on campground and enjoying their reconciliation.  Always brief, always, but worth it every time.

“Seems Jaroth is in town claiming he wants to kick my bear ass.”

              “Oh for God’s sakes.”

John Brown laughed, quite unusual to see him smiling again after so many months of somber mood.  “I guess I got to go over and give him what he wants.”

“Come on, John.  You don’t got nothing to prove.  He’s a boy.  And he’s just a man compared to you, whatever you are.”

“Relax, my demon-angel,” he said with a soft and quiet laugh.  “I’m not going to hurt him.  If anything, this gives me the chance to put this chapter behind me once and for all.  I’ll let him think he’s won.  Give his pride a little healing.”

“And what about that, John?  Am I chapter to put behind you too?”

He stared at her, unsure of how to answer that one.

“John Brown is a bear, make no mistake about it,” Jaroth screamed to the small group of bored townsfolk that were hopping around time, just as excited as if the WWE Network came to town.

Another half hour of Jaroth’s increasingly strange taunts, and John Brown and Marionne showed up, driving a less flashy truck than Jaroth, that’s for sure.  But John wasn’t much for style or prestige.  He was humble about his Ford Pickup and didn’t care what anyone thought of it, at least it got him to and from the store, which is all a truck is really supposed to do.

Applause broke out and some townsfolk welcomed back a ghost—a living and breathing John Brown.

Even the local sheriff showed up and walked up to John.

“Well, I’ll be.  You don’t look like no ghost to me, JB.”

“What can I say, Bill?  I go hibernating sometimes.  Being a bear and all.”

A few local townsfolk laughed.

“Well,” Sheriff Bill laughed.  “If you ask me this guy’s just asking for trouble.  I always say I don’t care what a person’s sexual preferences are.  And if he thinks you engage in consensual sex with other men, ain’t nobody’s business but your own.  In fact, I kinda get why you wanted to fake your own death.”

John and Marionne stared at each other.  “I think he means that I’m a werebear.  Like a werewolf?  But a bear.”

“Say what?” the sheriff asked in bewilderment.  “He thinks you’re a werewolf?  Well that kid’s just off his rocker.”

“Yeah, most likely.”

John Brown walked up to Jaroth amid a spattering of applause.

“There you are.  You’re a warlock, John Brown.  I’ve seen it with my own eyes.  You transform yourself into a bear.  I know your secret.”

“Now, just relax, Jaroth,” John said, raising his hand and keeping his tone calm.  “It’s true, everybody, I did fake my own death.  But that’s for my own reasons.  But none of what Jaroth is saying is true.  He’s just upset that I have been fooling around with my wife.”

A few people laughed.

“That is to say, his girlfriend.  It’s true.  When I decided to die, I revoked my claim to her.  And it was wrong of me that I did what I did.  Not just because I hurt Jaroth, but because I hurt Marionne.”

He looked at Marionne in regret, a soft expression, the likes of which he rarely gave anyone these days.  “And I will and always have loved Marionne.  The truth is, maybe she deserves something better than me.  Someone who will treat her right.”

John Brown extended his hand to Jaroth.  But Jaroth slapped it away.

“Naw, naw, I came out here to duel.  Draw your weapon, John Brown!”

“I got no weapon, Jaroth.”

“Well I do!”  Jaroth whipped out his pocket knife and stabbed John Brown in the stomach.  The townsfolk hollered and caused quite a scene, one that culminated in Jaroth’s arrest.

Marionne ran over to a fallen John Brown, ignoring Jaroth’s nonsensical yelling about killing the bear-wolf.  Marionne knew John probably wasn’t going to die from such a small wound.  All it would take for him to heal is one full moon’s worth of rest and regeneration.

But she couldn’t help but feel emotional at the idea of John’s dying again—each and every time he did it, it was as if one step closer to leaving her behind for good.

“John Brown…looks like this time you’re really dying,” she said without any tears, but with melancholy on her face.

“Maybe this time…I should stay that way.   Maybe it’s better for everybody,” he said with sadness.

The sheriff hauled off Jaroth and came over to see the damages.  “I don’t think he stabbed you too deep.  I think if you go to a doctor he’ll stitch you right up.  That boy isn’t right in the head.  We ought to lock him up for good.”

“No,” John said firmly.  “Don’t press charges.  Just let him think he killed me.  He’s delusional.  They only stop when they get what they want.  But since you asked sheriff, I really do think it’s time for me to move on.  Maybe you should just tell people I’m dead.  Again.”

“I never understood, John.  Why is it that you feel the need to run away?  What is going on inside your head that you can’t just confide with friends?”

“Because I’m a monster, Bill.  Just like they say.”

“Oh.  I see…” he said, not quite getting the metaphor.

“Sometimes monsters don’t have monstrous faces or bodies.  Sometimes the monster is just inside a person’s head.  That’s all.  A new start in life might be what I need to get things right.”

*****

It was dawn at everyone had gone home, leaving a flesh-wounded John Brown to recover on his own after a few good stitches.  Jaroth’s tall tales didn’t do much damage and he never really stopped talking about it either, people just stopped listening.  But towards the end, it’s quite possible he knew the truth.  Especially when Marionne let him in on the secret.

“I don’t think it’s going to work out between us, J.”

“You going to be with John Brown?”

“He’s dead.  You killed him, right?”

“I’m not an idiot.  I know you can’t kill a werebear that easily.  I just never knew anything like him really existed.”

“I’m sorry, Jaroth.  I don’t expect you to understand.”

“No, I don’t understand, sweetheart.  I don’t think I will.  At least not about the bear shifting part.  But the whole, in love with your ex thing?  Yeah, I understand that.  No explanation needed.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I just gotta know…why him over me?  I thought I played my cards pretty good.”

“You did, sugar.  You did.”

“Then what?”

“You’re just a nice guy, Jaroth.  You’re a charmer, a good man, and a man bound to do some good in this world.  But me…well, I like a bit of a wild man.  I guess you could say that I like a little danger in my life.”

She winked at him.  “Sometimes it’s hard to get a girl’s attention.  A man like John Brown, well, he doesn’t have to try too hard, you know?”

She kissed him goodbye, a tender kiss for a tender fellow.
