She’s gotten more protective of me lately… they all have actually.

“Why is she here again?” I whisper to Clara.

Camara smirks at the comment she’s not supposed to hear, and she continues glaring at Melissa

who is slinking down under the pale blue swirling eyes she can’t fully appreciate with her mortal

eyes. I stifle a laugh as Clara whispers back.

“She’s Henry’s sister. I’m sorry,” she sighs.

“It’s fine. Camara might scratch her eyes out before the end of the night though,” I playfully

warn.

“Yeah, I see that. You two are pretty close now. Should I feel cheated on?” she jokes.

Camara’s deadly gaze ends as she’s caught off guard by the humorous question, and she covers

her mouth to hide her smile.

“Sorry. I have been cheating on you, but you’ll always be my first love,” I tease.

She elbows me in the ribs and then grabs the aching limb in complete shock.

“Wow. Since when do you have a rock hard core?” she gasps.

I laugh a little, and Camara can’t hold back the laughter she’s been restraining any longer.

“I work out these days,” I lie with a shrug.

“That’s an understatement,” she growls as she continues rubbing her throbbing elbow.

“We’re here,” I say with a chuckle to distract her from her new fascination as she continues

cautiously poking my firm body with her finger.

We step out, and I tilt my head curiously.

“When did they rename it?”

Camara grins as though she has a secret, but Clara joins me in the discovery.

“Aphrodite’s Passion. That’s a hot name,” she muses.

“It’s an ironic coincidence,” I accidentally blurt out.

“Huh?” Clara quizzically offers.

“I mean, it’s just odd. Let’s go in. Devin should have us on the list,” I subtly add.

She shrugs and the bouncer pulls up his list as we approach.

“Name?” he barks without even looking up.

“Aphrodisia Titan. Devin Cole was supposed to have us put on the list,” I murmur with a little bit

of uneasiness.

His eyes widen when he finally looks at me, and he rushes to remove the velvet rope that’s

blocking our path.

“Yes ma’am. You ladies head on in, and have a wonderful night,” the brawny man says with

fearful excitement.

“Okay… Thanks,” I mutter with a touch of confusion.

Camara laughs a little more, and then she takes my hand to start dancing the moment we walk in.

Her body sways with the grace of a swan and finesses of a prowling cat. I laugh a little as I

attempt to mimic her motions, and suddenly eyes begin turning their attention to us.

“Whoa,” I gasp.

“Holy smoking hot female,” Clara scoffs. “When did you learn to dance like that?”

“Like what?” I ask in complete bewilderment.

“Your hips were just moving like a sexy wave crashing against a smoldering hot beach. I feel like

I barely know this new Adisia,” she pouts.

“Sorry. I swear I haven’t been working on any new moves. I was just trying to blend in,” I

murmur apologetically.

“I’m just jealous. Don’t apologize. It’s as if you’ve taken a dip in the coveted seduction pool and

came out hotter, spicier, and sexier than hell. I need to find that pool myself.”

“Clara, don’t be ridiculous. You’re one of the sexiest women I know. Let’s have a good time.”

“I could use a drink,” Camara says with a leading tone.

I smirk at the silent request, and a guy walks over to us with a too-big-for-his-face smile.

“We need drinks. Vodka for us, and cosmos for the rest,” I instruct with my green-eyed force.

“Got it,” he says with a happy-to-please tone.

He darts over to the bar, and Clara’s mouth pops open in gaping disbelief.

“Who the hell ordered you a strong dose of confidence, and where can I get double?” she rumbles.

I laugh a little harder, and the guy promptly returns with two other guys helping him deliver our

drinks.

“Thanks, now go dance with someone,” I order, and they all do as I say.

“Wow. I need you to teach me,” Jane gasps in a graveling tone.

“She’s just a pretty face,” Melissa murmurs to herself, but I still hear it. “It’s not like she’s going

to be hot forever,” she continues in a disgruntled whisper.

Camara sputters her drink to the floor, and I hold back my roaring laughter at yet another private

joke. Perhaps I should visit Melissa in a few decades to show her what I look like then.

“Let’s move this party to the VIP lounge,” Camara insists. “It’s seriously loud down here.”

I follow her up the stairs, and the others ride our heels. The man at the door speaks to Camara,

and she points to me.

“That’s Aphrodisia Titan. Devin Cole put her on the list,” she adds.

He doesn’t even check the list before opening the door with haste. I smirk as we walk in, and I

almost lose my breath when I see the pictures of Devin and me hanging on the wall. He must have had

someone put them up for tonight.

“Ms. Titan?” a timid girl asks.

“Yes,” I answer.

“Mr. Cole instructed us to make sure you had everything you needed for tonight, and the lounge is

solely yours. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do,” she eagerly responds.

“We could use a lot of vodka, and keep it coming,” Camara chimes in. “And keep the other girls

loaded with their drinks as well,” she adds.

“Yes ma’am,” she quickly replies, and then she scurries over to the bar to fill our request.

“Since when do you drink straight vodka?” Clara ponders aloud.

“I’ve acquired a taste for it. My tolerance has gotten a little bigger, and it takes a bit more to get

me drunk.”

“You look like you’ve lost weight. How does it take more to get you drunk?”

“I don’t know. Let’s go dance. I don’t know why, but I really want to,” I say to distract her.

“Okay,” she giggles out.

“I’m good with that,” Camara chirps, though I know she really doesn’t want to since we just left

the obnoxious music below.

The floor is loaded with people, but I don’t feel as nervous as usual. Aphrodite’s confidence is

offering me courage as my body sways to the beat, and I feel the sizzle of seduction dripping from me.

My eyes flash green to silently command the flocks around me, and they all fall back before

attempting their foolish feat.

“Everyone is looking at you,” Jane murmurs with envious intrigue.

“They can look. They just can’t touch,” I smolder out, and the music flows through me as if it’s

intoxicating me.

This is Aphrodite’s niche apparently, and she’s reveling in her opportunity to enjoy a moment.

“Can I touch?” a familiar voice brazenly questions.

I turn with a smile to find Jace, and Camara rolls her eyes at the Aussie stalker.

“A little, but keep it within reason,” I caution.

“I can manage that,” he seduces, and his hands pull me against his body with a little too much

eagerness.

“That’s too much,” I laugh out, and I pull my hips away from his until they’re just barely not

touching.

“That’s just a tease,” he dares.

“That’s what I do,” I playfully retort.

“Oh, I love it when you let your true goddess ring free,” he sizzles out.

“She’s the only one I have left. I let Theia block Asteria and Kaos so I didn’t have to be

Emperian anymore, and so I didn’t have to worry about going nuclear all the time. I feel the

difference with only her awake.”

“I can see that,” he provocatively murmurs as he tilts my chin up. “I was just talking about your

goddess though. Not Aphrodite. You’re a goddess, Adisia. A hell of a goddess.”

“Who is this?” Jane gasps as she stares dreamily at the Australian masterpiece, and I’m so

thankful for the interruption.

I laugh as I step out of Jace’s grasp and introduce the eager receptionist to the bounty hunting

immortal.

“This is Jace. He’s a friend of mine.”

“And Devin’s?” Clara asks suspiciously.

“Not exactly,” Jace says with a menacing smirk.

“He needs to be,” I caution. “I met him when I was in Ireland, and he just kind of stuck around.”

“If I was Devin, I wouldn’t want him
sticking
around,” Clara whispers, and Jace smiles

immediately upon hearing her remark.

“Devin doesn’t have to worry about anything,” Camara growls. “Jace has tried and failed to lure

Adisia into his bed numerous times,” she crudely taunts.

Jace scowls at her, and then he pulls me back to him to resume our interrupted dance. I laugh a

little more at his attempts to capitalize on Devin’s absence, but I withdraw from the intimate contact

to offer a new dance partner a chance.

“Jane loves to dance,” I entice, and Jace narrows his eyes at me for my obvious ploy.

She leaps into the opportunity, and he huffs as he concedes to the dance to keep from hurting her

fragile feelings.

“You need to be careful,” Clara whispers. “That guy has it bad.”

“You have no idea,” Camara scoffs.

I smirk a little, and return to my solo dancing. Jace is trapped in Jane’s sudden infatuation, and I

continue to revel in his misery.

Melissa is acting like a puffed up blowfish, and Clara is giggling wildly as she dances beside me.

Camara’s eyes glow, but the mortals can’t see them as she feels the music with wild passion.

Then I feel something consuming my attention. A devious smirk spreads on my face, and Clara

questions it.

“What?”

“Devin,” I answer vaguely, and then I feel his heat against my body as he pulls my back to meet

his front.

His body sways with mine, and I smile foolishly as his hot breath seduces the chills on my neck.

His lips lightly graze my cheek as he dares to reveal himself, and his scent engulfs me.

“Devin!” Clara scolds. “You promised.”

“I couldn’t stay away,” he murmurs without a trace of an apologetic tone.

“You guys are supposed to be having a bachelor party,” Camara admonishes, but she can’t

suppress her grin when Deacon wraps his arms around her waist.

“Devin wouldn’t go to the strip club, and this is the hottest dance club in town. Besides, he was

whining about Adisia being gone for two nights, and we were sick of hearing it.”

I smile a little as I turn to face the glorious man, but his eyes have turned to find Jace.

“What are you doing here?” Devin growls.

“I just came to party. I didn’t know she was going to be here,” he lies, and he doesn’t even try to

sound convincing.

Devin just rolls his eyes. “I’m glad I showed up now,” he grumbles.

“Well, as you can see, I’ve already provided him with a suitable replacement,” I whisper, so as

not to hurt Jane’s feelings.

Devin lets a smirk escape, and now Jace is the one doing the eye rolling. Camara grins, but Clara

is still upset.

“So no strip clubs?” I ask suspiciously.

“They don’t have a whole lot to offer considering the goddess I’m about to marry,” he teases.

I laugh a little at his oddly complimenting remark. His hands sizzle through the dress, and I’m

worried it might actually start to burn off me.

“Easy, baby,” he smolders with a bit of excitement.

“We can’t get too carried away. There are mortals here, and I can’t help but feel incredibly

aroused when you’re around,” I huff.

“I like hearing that, but I’m not leaving, especially not with him here,” he rumbles as his eyes

point to the Aussie stalker.

I smirk a little at his flavor of jealousy, and then I pull him down to my lips. My body presses

against his so close that air can’t squeeze through, and I begin the slow, saucy moves Aphrodite

wishes to set free to the music.

“You’ve learned a thing or two with Aphrodite running on her own,” he muses.

“I’m sure I’ve learned more than I know. Theia just blocked me three days ago, and already I feel

completely different,” I say while running my hands through my hair.

It’s as though I can feel the seduction running off me as I move back to give him a view of my

newly acquired confidence, and Kry’s eyes widen when they fall on my curvy waves of temptation.

The provocative dance leaves Devin’s wanting eyes preying on me, and my eyes burn into them

fearlessly.

“Oh my goddess. Yeah, we’re going to have some problems keeping the runoff at the wedding to

a minimum. I’m already sweating, and I’m immortal. I’m not supposed to sweat,” Kry gripes in a

near whisper.

Devin smirks as he stalks toward me, and I take one step back for each step he takes forward. I

feel the heat between our distanced bodies growing as the air smolders around us.

A girl steps up to try and dance with my incredible man, but he doesn’t even acknowledge her as

he continues his slow prowl.

I feel the vibrations as the electricity threatens to surge, and Devin lets a half cocked grin smugly

play on his face before he flashes to me despite the eyes in the room on us.

His lips claim mine, and the fire between us is only from Aphrodite’s passion, not Kao’s wildfire

too strong for my control.

“Let’s head up to the VIP room. You two are going to bring the place down if you continue to

stay in this seductive atmosphere,” Kry cautions.

Devin pulls my hand in his and nods to Jace.

“Can you clean that up? I’m not sure how many saw it.”
