OUT FROM THE OTHER SIDE

We were both dazed and confused from our last relationship. Dust settled on the horizon of our grief, and we returned to the war front to sweat again. Humanity has a way of wrangling up the forfeiters and potential suicidal and gets us to laugh at the irony of it all. I was a distant soldier, who had stories of chaos, blended with bright moments of light, then weeks of dark despair. You had crawled into the womb of your mother Goddess and awaited the universe to shift. It was perfect how we met, unplanned and whimsical and nothing mattered. We had lost everything already, we thought, until we began building something ourselves. We remained on the sidelines, awaiting for the other to lose control, cheat, or practice any other human flaw. With nothing but the ordinary tiff, we began building an empire of subtleties, cozy candle-lit evenings, harboring two cats that took turns going outside to act as security, and our Sunday drives and Monday workouts in the next town. I still had moments where I reveled in the past of intoxication and selfish outbursts, when you would softly remind me of the limitless potential of our steadfast approach to health and enrichment. We played the Lottery and published our musings and released music on the internet and avoided a normal 8 to 5 job as much as possible. If you got down on yourself, I would smile and lay out all the positives we were doing, everything was evolving whether we were ready or not. The endless Winter turned into eighty degree weather and the roads were lit with gold and the tires hummed and the hot air rushed through our hair and it was chapter two. What a trip. Now, we love as much as love can take. Another day, another month, another year. Love reigns.

EPILOGUE

Of course, life goes on and many more ideas and thoughts will pass our minds. This is just a sample of one man’s mind. If it inspired, offended, excited or saddened you, that’s better than flatline, deadpan and numb!
