“Hey, so your staying for a while right?”  Nancy looked up at him, a smile on her face, she'd known he'd be a good partner sexually.

“Sure I got several hours to waste.”  He leaned down and kissed her, he started to get hard again.  Damn this nurse was one hot woman, he could get used to this type of thing going on.

On the other side of town Jeff was sitting across the table from a still upset Jenna.  “I'm really sorry that he had to work.”  Jeff told her one more time.  “But come on Jenna this is me, we can have a fun time.”

“I just have a feeling something is up.  You know a bit before you got to my house I called the hospital to page Mike and let him know we were going out, but he didn't answer.”  I just have an odd feeling about this.

“You think he's cheating on you?”  Jeff asked, his face got red from anger, if Mike was cheating on Jenna he'd pound him.

“I don't know, well I've never had sex with him.”  Jenna admitted.

“That doesn't mean he should go out and find it somewhere else.”  Jeff said.

“You did when we were younger.”  Jenna said looking straight at Jeff.

“Jenna that's not fair, I was in high school, he's an adult, he should know better.  If it was now I wouldn't do that to you.  I would wait now, your special, and you need to be treated that way.  If you want to wait for sex, he should be willing to wait, if not he should tell you and allow you to move on.”  Jeff told her.

“I'm sorry Jeff, this isn't really your problem, it's mine.”  Jenna said.  “I don't know if he's seeing anyone, but there have been a few things that have made me wonder before.”  She admitted.

“Like what?”  Jeff asked.

“Just well, he used to try and have sex once in a while, you know kiss me intimately and stuff, but now he's stopped doing that.  I guess it's not something I should complain about, since I did tell him to stop pressuring me, but I didn't say stop all together either.”  Jenna said.

“Well I can't say too much about that, you could have confused him though.  Jenna I know you have your beliefs and all about having sex.  However, well I don't know you can't expect a man not to get excited seeing you, and to try something.  Mike is your boyfriend and has been for three years, maybe he thought you wouldn't last this long with waiting?  However, I'm not saying it means he should go out and see other women either.”  Jeff told her.

“Jeff who's side are you on?”  Jenna asked.

“Look, you know I'm honest with you, I've always been honest with you even in high school when I was a cad.  I told you straight forward, I'm a football star, I can get pussy, if you don't want to give it up, I'll go get it somewhere else.  It was being thrown at me, but again, I was in high school.  Mike isn't in high school he is an adult and he shouldn't be even looking at another woman in a way that exudes sex.  So for your answer, I can understand his thought process, and that's what scares me that you may be right.  However, just because I can understand what he might be thinking, it means in no way that I condone such behavior.  If it was me I'd wait for you.”  Jeff said.

“But you didn't, did you.”  Jenna said quietly.

“No your right Jenna, and because of that I feel like a total heel even saying that Mike should be strung up.  However, if it was now and I was with you, well I would wait.  I can only tell you how I feel right now.”  Jeff stated.

“It's no use really Jeff, I know how I feel and well, it's like Mike just tosses me to the side, even if he isn't cheating, the hospital seems to always come first all the time.  I know I sound horrible, he's a doctor and he saves lives, so I shouldn't be so upset.  But this isn't the first time he's missed a date with me, and an important one.”  Jenna said.

“He saved my mom's life last year, so I think he's a great doctor.  But now when you think of if he's a good boyfriend, well I can't say he's a good one for you.  Of course that's because I still want you madly.”  Jeff said, no smile on his face, he was completely serious.

“Stop teasing me Jeff.”  Jenna said.

“I'm not and you know it.  I've made no doubt about my feelings, maybe I've backed off a bit since you've been dating Mike.  However, that doesn't mean I don't still want you.  Jenna if you would give me another chance I would never give you any reason to wonder how I felt about you.”  Jeff finished.

Jenna looked flustered, true enough Jeff had stated three years ago how he'd felt, but she never dreamed he was still holding a candle for her.  She really didn't know what to say, right now her mind was just so wracked wondering why Mike always put in extra hours, but yet would swear he wanted to live his life with her.  “Jeff, I don't really know what to say.  I didn't know you still felt this way.”

“I'm just waiting for you to decide to give me another chance that's it.”  Jeff said.

“What about that girl Elaine you were dating for a while?”  Jenna asked.

“Oh she was nothing serious, just a pawn while I waited for you.  She didn't want me, she had another g everything okay?”  Jeff auy in mind, she was only using me to make him jealous.  It worked, they are getting married next year.”  Jeff explained.

“Wow, really?”  Jenna was shocked.

“Yeah, I know hard to imagine me not really wanting or never mind Jenna I don't want to explain anymore.  Your with Mike still and I shouldn't really even be talking to you about my feelings right now.”  Jeff stopped short of saying something important, Jenna could just tell.

“Your right Jeff.  I don't know how much fun I'm going to be the rest of the night either.  But would you mind if we went up to the hospital so I can tell Mike in person that I'm out with you, so that if we do decide to go somewhere else he won't worry.”  Jenna asked.

“Couldn't you just call him?”  Jeff asked.

“I've tried it a couple of times, but he's not answering his phone or pager.  I guess I could call the hospital though, I never did consider that option.”  Jenna admitted.

She went outside to use her cell phone instead of using it in the restaurant, she always hated when other people did that, so why would she do it.  Calling the number of the hospital, she asked for the ER, “Can I please speak with Dr. Mike Davis please?”  She asked the nurse who answered the phone.

“Dr. Davis isn't working tonight, can someone else help you?”  The nurse asked.

“He's not working tonight?”  Jenna asked.  “Are you sure?”

“Ma'am I'm positive, we only have two doctors on tonight, and neither of them is Dr. Davis.  I'll ask to see if anyone else saw him.”  She placed Jenna on hold.

Jenna didn't like the feeling she was getting in her stomach.  But maybe Mike had gotten off after all and had gone home, so she waited for the nurse to come back with the news.  “I'm sorry ma'am he's been off for a while according to one of the other nurses.”

“Okay, thank you, I must have misunderstood.”  Jenna hung up, and pulled up the number to Mike's cell phone, dialing it, she knew this had to be something very simple.

The phone rang and his voice mail picked up, “hey Mike it's Jenna, called the hospital to let you know I went out to eat, and found out you got off anyway.  Hope your not sitting at the apartment wondering where I am.  Give me a call back, love ya.”  She clicked the phone off, maybe he was in the shower?  She wasn't sure, so she walked back into the restaurant.

“Hey everything okay?”  Jeff asked as Jenna walked in, he could tell by the look on her face she was perplexed.

“Well he wasn't working, so I tried his phone, he didn't answer.  Would you mind if we cut it short and went back to the apartment.  He could be sitting there wondering where I am, I know I left him a message, but hell if he's off, I would enjoy spending our anniversary with him.”  Jenna explained.

“I get it, Jeff's not good enough.”  He laughed.  “Yeah, I'll pay and we can go.”  He said, signaling the water to come for the check.

They left about fifteen minutes later, Jeff had opened the door for Jenna, making her remember the days when Mike had been nice enough to do that as well.  It hadn't been something he'd done lately, in fact there were a lot of things he used to do that he didn't do anymore.  As they pulled up to the apartment, she didn't see Mike's car, so she tried to call his phone again as she walked to the apartment.

“Maybe he left a note, I'll go check.”  Jenna said as she got out of the car.  “You can come in too Jeff.”  She said as an after thought.

Jeff got out of the car and walked a few feet behind her, something about this whole situation just didn't seem quite right to him.  He looked at his phone and wondered if he called Mike's number the man would answer, maybe he had a special plan for Jenna.

“Nothing.”  Jenna turned around and said as she hung up the phone.  Opening the door she somewhat suspected to find a note telling her to meet him at a bar or something.  Jenna had no clue what Jeff was doing, she just saw him with his phone to his ear, so she went about her search.

******

“Mike, your phone's ringing again.”  Nancy Jenkins yelled to him in the bathroom.  It had been placed on vibrate, but it was making quite the racket on the table beside the bed.

“Leave it alone, dear.”  Mike yelled back.

Nancy looked it was her calling again, damn she really wanted to answer the phone and tell her to stop calling.  She looked picked it up and thought about it, but the voice mail must have clicked on because it stopped ringing.

“Who was it?”  Mike called out, wondering if maybe the hospital was really trying to reach him.

“Her.”  Nancy said with a venom that even Mike could hear.

Mike just shook his head in the other room, knowing that Nancy would never understand.  Jenna was an attorney, so she was a much better connection for him as far as a wife.  Hell if he could marry anyone else it would be a judge, or maybe even another doctor, but a nurse, never.

As she held the phone it vibrated again, looking down she saw it was a man named Jeff.  Nancy had no clue who Jeff was, but figured fuck it, she was answering it and telling this guy that Mike was very busy.

“He's busy.”  She picked up the phone, not even saying hello, keeping her voice down so Mike didn't know she answered it either.

“Who's this?”  Jeff asked on the other side of the phone, shocked that he had gotten an answer only a few seconds after Jenna had hung her phone up.  But more in shock because it was the voice of a female who answered.

“Nancy.”  She said.

“Where's Mike?”  He asked her.

“In the bathroom, why?”  She got a bit snotty.

“Because his girlfriend is wondering where the hell he is?”  Jeff got a bit loud.

“He's with me.”  She clicked the phone and hung up as she heard Mike stirring and coming out of the bathroom.

“What are you doing?”  Mike asked as he walked out of the other room and saw Nancy holding his phone.

“Nothing.”  She smiled and put his phone back on the dresser.  “Come here and let me see that hard tool you carry between your legs.”

Mike gladly went over to her and allowed her to put him into her mouth.  She was great at giving blow jobs that's for sure.  Quickly he completely forgot about her holding his phone looking guilty when he came out of the bathroom.

Jenna came into the living room from the bedroom and looked at Jeff, his face was red and he was mad, she could tell.  “What's wrong Jeff?”

“Call Mike's number.”  He told her.  “No not with your phone, use mine.”

Jenna had no idea why she had to use his, but she grabbed the phone, and dialed Mike's number.  It rang and finally went to voice mail.  “Nothing, why?”

“I just called it, look at the log, and a Nancy answered the phone, she said Mike was with her.”  Jeff stated.

“Okay so was it a nurse maybe?”  Jenna asked.
