I gasped as he pushed into me harder, my hips rising to meet his, grinding against his as my body shook with the intensity of my orgasm.

My fingers dug into the bedding while my other hand worked faster, ignoring the cramp that was overcoming it, to play with myself. I gasped. My hips lifting again as pleasure surged from my head to my toes.

Suddenly I was tired. My body fell down on the bed as I took several deep breaths, and I forced my eyes open to see Dom grinning down at me.

He slipped out of me, took the condom off and opened his mouth, but nothing came out. His lips curled into a smile and he lifted a finger to me, letting me know he’d be back in a minute. I gave a single weak nod and closed my eyes as he left the room.

I wasn’t sure how long he was gone for, but my eyes snapped open as he came back into the room.

“Here,” he handed me a bottle of water that was already half empty.

“Thanks.” I reached out, took it and drained it in a matter of seconds.

“Just put it on the ground.”

I nodded, doing as I was told. Dom crawled into bed with me, his arms circling around my body and drawing me back down onto the bed. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath. “I can leave if you would like me to,” I offered, praying he would say no.

“You don’t have to,” he whispered. “I’d like it if you would stay for the night.”

My heart pounded in my chest. “If that’s what you want.” I grinned.

I held her tight in my arms as I closed my eyes.

There was nothing I wanted more than to just lay there. And that wasn’t a good thing with what was about to happen, but I was willing to risk it. I was willing to take that risk for her. I just wasn’t sure if she was going to accept me for who I was when I finally told her the truth.

Well, it’s a risk you’re going to have to take,
I told myself as I pulled her closer to me. Yes. Yes, a risk I was more than willing to take.

Chapter Five

I lay there in his arms for several seconds before forcing myself to roll away from him and slipping out of the bed. His eyes opened. “Hey.” He pushed himself up to a sitting position and threw the blankets off himself as he slipped out of the bed. “Do you want to stay for breakfast?”

I smiled. “Are you sure you want that? I mean is this the kind of relationship you want? It could mean commitment.” I gave a mocking gasp.

Dom laughed as I closed the distance between us. He drew me into his arms and placed a single kiss on my stomach.

A soft moan escaped me as my fingers curled in his hair and then pulling away from him I placed a kiss on his forehead. “So, you want to make me breakfast or be my breakfast?”

Dom laughed.

“I was honestly just thinking I would make you something, but maybe later we can come back in here and have a little more fun.” He glanced at the clock. “I don’t start my shift until 1:00. We’ve got lots of time to have some fun if you want.”

“You’re always fun.” I grinned, giving him another quick kiss; nipping his lower lip gently as I drew away from him. “But first, let’s get something to eat so we have energy.” I pulled away from him, reached for the button-up shirt that he wore last night and slipped into it as he pushed himself up from the bed.

My eyes traced over his body. His arms, his chest, his abs … the small trail of hair that led to his cock. A cock I’d enjoyed so much last night. I took his hand in mine and led the way to the kitchen.

He put some toaster waffles into the toaster while I put a pot of coffee on for us and then we worked in silence until the waffles popped and the coffee was ready. Then we made our way over to the couch with the syrup and butter. I sat down cross-legged and gobbled my food in a matter of seconds.

“Are you in a rush to leave me or something?” He gave me a fake pout.

“No, I just thought you might like a little time to yourself before you have to go to work.” I watched as he finished his waffles and downed his coffee in a matter of seconds, then grinned as he got to his feet and took the empty plate from my hand.

I watched as he put the plate on the counter, poured a glass of water and headed back over to me.

Pausing as he reached the couch, he smiled softly. “Kat, there is something that I have got to tell you.”

I raised an eyebrow. He stared at me, his eyes locking on mine with an intensity that I couldn’t place.

“Uh oh, I know that look. This can’t be any good.” I swallowed dryly as I felt the hair on my arms raise a little. The soft chill of goose bumps. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s about … It’s about why I didn’t want to even start this whole relationship … or whatever this is that we have.”

My heart skipped a beat. Please tell me he doesn’t have a wife or something.
That would explain why this place is so empty.

“You know how I told you that I introduced Becky to someone … a boyfriend.”

“Yes.” I nodded.

“Well, she died because of him, and I was the reason they met in the first place.”

My jaw dropped, I couldn’t help it. “Dom, I’m so sorry.” No wonder he was so weird about all of this.

“I was the reason they met,” he repeated.

“But you weren’t the reason that she died.”

“No. He was.” I opened my mouth, but I couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to say. “He … When she tried to break things off with him he …” I reached out and touched his arm. He paused, closed his eyes and took several deep breaths.

“Kat, I really like you and I’m sorry to say this but … I’m not going to be around much longer. Within the next couple weeks, I’m going to kill someone.”
