I stood there looking at him trying to figure
out why he was really insisting I go, but it seemed he was sincere;
plus, the thought of getting out of my tiny house and around people
again sounded great. I also knew that Devi was worried about me,
and that her new nanny, Ash was going to help with Jaks and Cait.
She’s told me more than once adding Quinn to the mix wouldn’t be a
problem. So I may in fact get some sleep; I guess I was going to
Seattle.

“Fine, I’ll go,” I snarked then turned around
to get dressed and get a bag for me and Quinn packed.

“I already packed the princess; just get your
stuff together. We're leaving in fifteen minutes.”

“How do you know what she needs?”

“I have packed for more than one baby in my
life, remember? I know what to get, she’s got tons of clothes,
diapers, and all the other crap that goes with a newborn. You have
the same type of car seat as Devi so a base is already in my truck
for it. She’s fed, she’s dry and napping, now we're waiting on
you.”

“Fine I am going; I’ll be out in a few.”

“About damn time she agreed, Princess, your
mama is stubborn.” I heard him telling Quinn as I walked down the
hall.

I snorted, like I am the only stubborn person
in this house, and what the hell did he do to my baby, she never
sleeps this much?

Drake

After finally getting the women and children
on the plane and strapped in, we were finally able to leave Dallas
and head to Seattle. The flight was interesting, between a
constantly talking Jaks, a screaming Quinn, which of course set off
Cait; I was ready to be out of the damn plane. I never knew I would
be so happy to see a rainy, grey Seattle.

“They cry a lot,” said Jaks as I was helping
him from the plane.

“Well, that’s what babies do.”

“I know, I have a headache now.”

I snorted, I loved this kid.

“Well, what do you think we need to do for
that?”

“I need a beer.”

“You and me both, kid.”

“Let’s go get a beer then, Uncle Drake.”

“All right, but we have to get your mom and
Aunt Mags first.”

“Naw, let them do it.” He pointed over at a
waiting Seth and Sam.

“That works for me, Taz.” I walked over to
where they stood on the tarmac of the small private airport “Go
help the women, were getting a beer.”

Both Seth and Sam shook their heads at me,
and then went to help Devi and Mags with the babies, while Jaks and
I climbed into the waiting limo and popped open two root beers.

“Here ya go, Jaks.”

“Thanks, Uncle Drake.”

I watched him chug down half the can then let
out a burp that would have had Devi cringing.

“That’s good,” he said.

I laughed. “Yes it is, Jaks.”

At a newly turned five years old, Jaks had
become a lot more fun to be around, and was amusing as hell to
watch. A few minutes later, Seth climbed in carrying Cait’s car
seat with a flustered Devi behind.

“Where’s Sam and Mags?”

“Arguing,” replied Devi with a huff.

“What about?”

“Hell if I know,” said Seth.

I sighed, damn that woman. I climbed back out
of the car to find a screaming Quinn, a pissed off Sam, and a, I
had to look again, a crying Mags—ah hell.

“What’s going on?”

“Hell if I know,” replied Sam.

“Put Quinn in the car, we’ll be there in a
minute,” I told Sam.

I walked up to Mags. “What’s the matter,
darling?”

She sniffed.
“Nothing”—sniff—“is”—sniff—“wrong.”

“Mags, what’s up, and don’t tell me nothing,”
I said, pulling her into a hug.

“Just a text that upset me, okay,” she
replied in a huff.

“Want to talk about it?”

“No, not really; I will deal with it.”

“Okay, you okay? Can we go now?”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

I finally got her in the car and we left to
go to the hotel. This was going to be a long four days.

Chapter 3

Mags

The entire drive to the hotel Devi was
shooting me concerned glances. I knew she wanted to know what was
going on, but I wouldn’t burden her with more of my crap. I also
wouldn’t put her in that position. I hadn’t told anyone who Quinn’s
father was, and I knew it would make things awkward if they knew. I
really didn’t know what the fall out of that would be if they found
out who her father was, and didn’t really want to find out. I was
perfectly fine raising my daughter on my own. I didn’t want or need
his help, so when he sent me a text threatening me about disclosing
his name as the father of my child, it pissed me off, and as per
usual with me, set off the tears. Stupid hormones.

When we got to the hotel, I tried my best to
dodge Devi, but knew it was useless.

“What’s up?” she asked.

“Nothing, just normal crap.”

“Uh huh, not buying that.”

“Devi, it’s nothing really; now go off with
your husband, you haven’t seen him in over a month.”

“Nuh uh, you’re not getting rid of me that
easily.”

“Hey sis, your husband needs help, and Mags,
I think Quinn needs to be changed.” I was saved by Drake.

“We will talk later,” she hissed and headed
off towards Seth.

“Thanks,” I said towards Drake who was
carrying Quinn’s car seat.

“No problem, let’s get Princess up to your
room.”

“Okay.”

“So you, Princess and I are sharing a suite.
We're next door to Seth, Dev and the kids; the other guys are
upstairs in a suite together.”

I stopped and stared at his back until he
glanced back. “Why are we sharing a room?”

“We're not sharing a room, we're sharing a
suite. There are two suites on the floors we're on, same for the
floor above. They are trying to keep everyone together to make it
easier on the bodyguards.”

He said this like it made sense or
something.

“Uhm didn’t explain why we’re sharing.”

“Well, my suite was the only one with extra
room, therefore we're sharing.”

“I knew we shouldn’t have come.”

He reached over and grabbed my hand, tugging
me into following him. “Yes you should have come, and it’s not a
big deal. Seth, Devi had three rooms in their suite; they get a
room, Jaks gets a room, Ash and Cait are getting a room. The guys
are sharing another room. The other room on their floor is being
used for the security and others that work for the band; that
leaves my suite with extra room.”

“Oh, I guess that makes sense.”

He snorted. “Ya think?”

“Shut up,” I replied smacking him in the arm.
I realized that he was still holding my hand, and it felt natural
like it belonged—oh hell.

Drake

I got Mags and Quinn situated in our rooms,
both down for a much needed nap. I flopped down on the couch,
scrubbing my hands over my face—I am in so much trouble. I had
always liked Mags, she was a pain in the ass, but she was a fun
pain in the ass, but I had always put any other feeling towards her
in the back of my head and left it there. I couldn’t go there; I
couldn’t give her anything more than a friends with benefits
relationship. My career was the only thing in my life I had time
for. Being one of two A&R guys for an indie label didn’t leave
much time for anything else. I made time for my baby sister and
Jaks, but now with Seth in the picture, I had put even more time
towards work. I didn’t have the time or want to do more than sleep
with a woman, except with Mags, always Mags. Mags was unlike the
girls I slept with, she was…well Mags, and she was gorgeous. Long
sable hair, clear blue eyes that changed with her mood, a 50’s
pin-up body that had given me more than one hard on. She was the
only girl I could ever love. Now she was hurting, and she wouldn’t
let me help.

My phone beeped knocking me out of my
thoughts, which was a good thing. I glanced down and saw it was
from Sam.

SAM: Seth’s room now

I sighed…great, more drama. I hauled my ass
up and went across the room to Seth’s and knocked, the door was
opened instantly by Xavier.

“What’s up, X?” I asked.

“Hey Drake, not much, just got here,” he said
then turned away and walked toward the pandemonium that awaited
me.

I walked into the living
room to find total chaos. Jaks was crying while Devi was trying to
calm him down, shooting hate eyes at a bleeding Brent. Seth was
being restrained by a bodyguard and Sam was…what the hell
was
Sam doing.

“Sam, what the fuck are you doing?”

“Making popcorn.”

“Uhm why?”

“Because I like to eat popcorn while watching
a good drama.”

I shook my head and looked towards my
brother-in-law.

“Okay Seth, what’s going on?”

“That bastard hurt my kid, and I am going to
kill him.”

“Uhm, who hurt which kid?” I asked getting
pissed myself.

“Ah shit,” I heard X mutter.

“Our ex-manager hurt Jaks.”

I lunged for the bleeding prick but X grabbed
me before my fist could make contact.

“Let me go X so I can kill him.” I
yelled.

“Uhm looks to me someone’s already hit him,”
came Eli’s reply while walking in the door.

“Yeah, Devi has a great right hook,” said
Sam.

“Uhm okay, why is Devi punching people?”
asked Eli.

“Sam grab Eli, before someone does, in fact,
kill him.” replied X.

“Hell no, I think someone should kill him,
why do you think I am not helping?”

“What the fuck people? I can hear the yelling
in our room, you guys woke up Quinn. Now what’s so important that
you had to wake up my kid?” came Mags walking in beside Eli, she
looked around the room saw Brent then went white. What the hell was
that about?

“Can someone please explain what’s going on?”
asked Eli again.

“Brent came in and started yelling at Jaks,
grabbed him by the arm and shook him, then tossed him to the side
while yelling for Seth to get out here because they needed to talk.
We walked in just as he tossed him to the side and he hit the
table. I punched him in the face and got Jaks. Mike grabbed Seth
before he could do anything else, and I guess Sam called the rest
of you,” replied Devi still holding a whimpering Jaks.

“So you think we can all discuss this now,
without anyone trying to kill anyone else?” asked Mike the head of
the security team.

“Devi, get the kids and you and Mags go over
to my room,” I barked out.

She nodded, scooped up Jaks then went to get
Ash and Cait. A minute later, they all came out and went across the
hall with Devi still glaring at Brent.

“Okay, so Brent, want to tell us what was so
important you had to manhandle a five year old over?” asked a very
pissed off X.

One thing I do have to say about Seth and his
band members is that family is important to them, and you don’t
fuck with family.

“I had to make sure that bitch didn’t go
telling everyone her lies, so I wanted to talk to Seth and tell him
my side of the story.”

“Okay, now which bitch, as you put it, are we
talking about?” asked a very quiet and pissed off Sam.

“Mags, she keeps on about how that bastard of
hers is mine.”

CRACK

Xavier had let me go, now he and Eli were
pulling off an even bloodier Brent, but not before I got a couple
of more punches in.

“You’re fired, get your shit and get out
Brent.” said Sam.

“He hit me, I am pressing charges. You and
your whore of a sister can share a cell,” was his reply as he tried
to stand and leave. Mike had grabbed ahold of Seth again or he
would, in fact, be a very dead man.

He finally got to his feet and walked out of
the room, slamming the doors. We all looked around at each other
and Eli and X let go of me, Mike let go of Seth.

Sam sighed. “Guess we should make sure we
have enough for bail.”

Fifteen minutes later, the police showed up
and we told them what happened; they took pictures of Jaks’ bruised
arm and the knot on his head. Seth and Devi filed charges against
Brent, and afterwards they handcuffed me and my sister for assault;
all the while Devi gave last minute instructions to a very freaked
out nanny, and tried to calm down a very pissed off Seth.

What a fucking fantastic day this had
been.

Chapter 4

Mags

I had stepped out in the hall just in time to
see a handcuffed Drake and Devi being brought out of the room by
two police officers. Damn, this was going to be a long fucking
night. Drake glared at me when he walked past and I knew he now
knew who Quinn’s father was. Devi just smiled at me and gave me a
finger wave behind her back. Devi or Drake in handcuffs was not a
new scene for me, except I was usually the one handcuffed standing
beside Dev, and we called Drake to come get us, or us following
Drake out of a bar after he had been arrested to bail him out. I
looked over and saw a very pissed off Seth on the phone with who I
am guessing would be a lawyer by the way he was talking. Xavier was
laughing his ass off at a still smiling Devi even when the doors
closed on the elevator. Of course, she wouldn’t be upset by this,
she was protecting her child, because of a situation I put them
in.

I was thinking of packing Quinn and myself up
to get the hell out of there before we caused even more trouble
when I glanced up and saw Eli staring at me.

“Don’t,” Eli said.

“I wasn’t—” He cut me off mid-sentence.

“You will not leave; this is not your fault,
and we will all talk later after we get them out of jail.”

I nodded, especially since I had four angry
eyes on me. I knew they weren’t angry at me yet; they were upset by
being arrested.

I went back into the room and closed the door
to help Ash with the kids and let them handle the rest. The best
thing I could do was make sure the kids were okay and help ease
Devi and Seth’s minds that way.
