“Interesting,” Sherwood replied.

“It most definitely is,” Seals said, as she
still read the comments. “The picture got a lot of likes on it —
more than the one of him kissing Audrey — but people in the
comments section are even saying that Felicity is a fuck girl and
that Reamer needed to stay away from her. And it’s obvious that
everyone found out that he quit Audrey for Felicity and are saying
that Felicity told him to do it, but it’s like now she won’t talk
to him and still wasn’t at the time she was assaulted. They’re
making fun of him and everything on social media — saying shit like
he got played by a fuck girl.”

“And with that alone can make someone very
embarrassed, mad, depressed, and even suicidal, and as a result, he
would want her dead because of what she did, and what she did was
cause fuckery to him by forcing him to quit his girlfriend and then
not talking to him after he did it, therefore, making him look like
a fool,” Sherwood said.

“Yeah, and now we have
another suspect.
Damn
! Just how many suspects are we gonna have when it comes to
this case?”

Sherwood sighed. “I don’t even wanna think
about it!”

Seals laughed. “And neither
do I! Well, let’s see if I can contact Reamer,” she said. She sent
him a private message on one of his social media pages. No more
than a minute later,
he
responded
! “I don’t believe
this!”

“What?” Sherwood asked, as he put down his
cheeseburger.

“Reamer Miller just responded to me!” Seals
said with excitement.

“I don’t believe it, either!” Sherwood
replied. “What did he say?”

“He’s agreed to meet with us to talk about
her,” Seals informed him.

“Damn, that was painless! When did he wanna
meet?” Sherwood asked.

Seals wrote him back to ask him this. Reamer
responded seconds later. “He said right now at his home!”

“Are you serious?!” Sherwood said, somewhat
in a disbelief.

“Yeah, I am! He even gave me his address,
see!” Seals said, and gave her phone to him so he could see that
she wasn’t making this up.

“Let’s go,” Sherwood said.

They got up and left the restaurant.

“Oh, did you tell him who we wanted to talk
to him about?” Sherwood asked, as they got into the car.

“No, I didn’t. He’s got two choices on who
he wants to talk about — either Audrey or Felicity, but Audrey’s
not the one laying up in the hospital,” Seals replied.

“Exactly, so he’s gotta know that you wanna
talk about Felicity.”

“Yeah, exactly, unless he wants to tell me
something about Audrey that we don’t know about and it has to do
with what happened to Felicity.”

“Good point. And that would make Audrey
another suspect, which unbeknownst to her, she is,” Sherwood
replied, and then started the car and headed to Reamer’s house.

About fifteen minutes later, they arrived at
Reamer’s house to him standing in the driveway. It was obvious that
he was waiting for them.

Sherwood and Seals got out of the car.

“Reamer Miller?” Seals asked.

“Yeah, I’m Reamer,” Reamer replied.

“I’m Detective Genevieve Seals and this is
my partner Detective Roland Sherwood,” Seals said, and showed him
her badge; Sherwood did the same. “I’m the one who sent you a
private message on your social media page.”

Reamer looked a little intimidated when he
saw their badges, and knew right away how serious this was that he
agreed to talk to them. “Okay.”

“Is there anyone else here besides you?”
Sherwood asked.

“No, I’m here alone,” Reamer replied.

“Can we go inside and talk?” Seals
asked.

“Yeah, of course. Come on in,” Reamer said,
and led them up the driveway and inside the house.

They all settled in the family room area and
all sat on the same couch. Reamer turned off the TV.

“First of all, thanks for agreeing to meet
with us on such short notice,” Seals said.

“No problem,” Reamer replied.

“So, since you know why we’re here, can you
tell us what kind of relationship you had with Felicity Gains?”
Sherwood asked.

Reamer sighed. “Well, I really like her and
I know she liked me; she just didn’t wanna show it that much
because I don’t think she was really over Sloan — she seemed really
confused about her true feelings for him.”

“So her being confused about him meant what
to you?” Seals asked.

“Well, I think it meant that she would say
one thing to me and then say something else to him. I think she was
torn between the two of us, and didn’t know how to tell Sloan that
she didn’t want anything to do with him,” Reamer replied.

“How long have you and Felicity been seeing
each other?” Sherwood asked.

“For just a few weeks,” Reamer lied.

Sherwood and Sloan looked at each other.

“Were you seeing her when you were still
with Audrey Gold?” Seals asked.

Reamer sighed. “Yeah, I was, and Felicity
gave me an ultimatum. She told me to quit Audrey or she didn’t
wanna see me ever again,” he lied.

“So you did what she told you to do, we take
it?” Seals asked.

“Yeah, I did, because I didn’t wanna lose
her since she wasn’t with Sloan anymore and I didn’t want her to go
back to him or to someone else. I had a chance of being with her
and I wasn’t gonna blow that chance. Felicity and I had something
special, despite people saying that she was a fuck girl; I just
said that she was misunderstood.”

“How was she misunderstood?” Sherwood
asked.

“She’s overconfident and people see that as
being conceited. She likes to have fun and loves attention, and who
am I to say anything about it? She’s young and beautiful — people
are just haters. I saw Felicity different from how most see her and
I don’t feel bad about that,” Reamer said.

“And how do you feel about what people are
saying about you on social media? Because they’re saying that you
were a fool for quitting Audrey for her and that she totally played
you by not talking to you after you did,” Seals said.

Reamer sighed as he looked down at the
floor. “People are always gonna talk shit because like I said
before, they’re haters. Felicity wanted me to quit Audrey so I did,
but now because of what happened to her happened, she’ll probably
never be my girlfriend.”

Sherwood and Seals looked at each other, as
they tried to determine whether or not he was showing legitimate
grief.

“Reamer, were you ever sexually involved
with Felicity?” Seals asked.

Reamer looked at her. “Why do you ask?”

“Because it’s just something we need to
know. Because a lot of the comments I’ve been looking at on social
media that are talking about you and Felicity are saying that the
two of you did more than just kiss out in that parking lot that
night,” Seals informed him.

“Yeah, we had sex, but only once. I really
haven’t been looking at the comments that much, so I really don’t
know what they’ve been saying,” Reamer said.

“Well, some of the comments have been saying
that she never had sex with you and that she insulted your size —
and you know what I mean about that. Is that true?” Seals
asked.

“Absolutely not!” Reamer replied with anger.
He tried to calm himself down since he’d heard it for himself that
this was in fact true when he was on a three-way call with Felicity
and Sloan, unbeknownst to her, and he knew that the only way that
this got to social media was through Sloan.

“Well, we know how mad that’ll make any guy
to do the unthinkable, so we just wanted to see if you knew about
it,” Sherwood said.

Reamer sat back on the couch as he stared at
the turned-off TV.

“So, moving along, here. Where were you on
Friday? Not today, of course, but last week Friday?” Seals
asked.

“I was at Moves with Joe,” Reamer
replied.

“What about last week Saturday?” Sherwood
asked.

“At Joe’s. I remember it was raining really
hard so we decided to just stay at his place,” Reamer replied.

“For the whole night?” Sherwood asked.

“Yeah, for the whole night,” Reamer let them
know.

“Okay,” Sherwood replied. “Oh, how well do
you know Sloan Avery, Felicity’s ex?”

“Not that well because we’re not friends, if
that’s what you wanna know,” Reamer said.

“How much had you and Felicity talked before
you two decided to see each other?” Seals asked.

“Once in a while. I don’t see her at school
that much, but when we do see each other we would talk,” Reamer
replied.

“I see,” Seals said. She wrote a few notes
in her notepad and then closed it. She and Sherwood stood up.
“Well, Reamer, thanks for seeing us on such short notice. Here’s
our cards.” She gave her card to him as Sherwood did the same.
“Please let us know if you hear anything around about what’s going
on in Felicity’s case. We’ve talked to a lot of people and have a
lot to sort out, so don’t be afraid to tell us anything that you
might see or hear about her on social media.”

“I won’t,” Reamer said. “Is she gonna be
okay?”

Sherwood and Seals looked at each other.

“We don’t know, Reamer, that’s why we need
to find the person or persons responsible for what happened to her
before it’s too late,” Sherwood replied.

Reamer nodded as he lowered his head.

Several minutes later, Sherwood and Seals
drove down the street back to the station.

“You know that he’s the only one that’s
asked about Felicity?” Seals said.

“I know. It shocked me, too,” Sherwood
replied. “But do you think he was really seeing her?”

Seals sighed with a slight grin. “No.”

Sherwood chuckled. “Me neither. With all of
the shit that people talk on social media and all, I believe a lot
of it is true about certain people, and I believe that he was
played for a fool by Felicity, he’s just too ashamed to admit
it.”

“Most definitely, and not only that, but he
wanted it to seem like he cares about her so much that there’s no
way in this world that he would hurt her. I don’t know what it is,
but I don’t believe Felicity told him to quit Audrey for her.”

Sherwood looked at her. “Really? Why
not?”

“Reamer is a nice kid and also very nice
looking, but you can tell that he’s not one of those popular kids,
and he’s probably the type who has always had a weakness for girls
like Felicity, despite her being a fuck girl and him knowing that
she is. He’s really in denial about her, and him calling her
misunderstood is one way of showing his denial. Felicity seemed to
be like a dream girl to a guy like him, and when she gave him some
attention that night by kissing him while he sat in his car, well,
I think he just lost his mind — he was in love, despite still being
with Audrey, and I have to believe that he was still with her when
that picture was taken of him and Felicity kissing. I just think he
wants people to think Felicity told him to break up with Audrey for
her because he wants people to believe that he was really wanted by
a girl that he’s probably always liked but never liked him. The
fuckery that he showed us in there was astounding, but I believe
Felicity showed him the most fuckery!”

“It really was! Felicity was known for
fucking with guys and not being serious about them, and he was just
one who didn’t wanna believe that he was a victim of it. I think he
thought that he could change her or something,” Sherwood said.

“There’s always one who thinks that they
can, and I believe that he’s that one. He really tried very hard to
make us believe that there’s no way in this world that he hurt her,
but only he knows if did, because when I read that shit on social
media about what she said about his dick size, I know he was
nothing nice about that, even though he tried not to show it.”

“And as a man, no guy in his right mind
would take someone insulting their size lightly!” Sherwood said,
with a slight chuckle.

“I know y’all wouldn’t!” Seals said with a
laugh.

Meanwhile, back inside Reamer’s house, he
continued to sit on the couch and stare at the turned-off TV.

“Hey. How come you didn’t tell me that they
were gone?” Joe said! He was up in Reamer’s bedroom the whole time
while Seals and Sherwood spoke to Reamer.

Reamer shook his head. “Sorry, man. I was
just thinking.”

“About what, dude?”

Reamer looked at him. “If anyone asks you
where I was last week Saturday, say I was at your house, okay?”

Joe looked confused. “Okay, since you were
over at my house. But why?”

Reamer looked at him, but refused to say
another word.

Chapter 28

“H
ey, I was wondering since it’s close to midnight, if you wanna
make an unexpected stop at Moves. You never know, Carson might be
there,” Seals asked Sherwood.

Sherwood looked at her with a slight grin.
“Sure, why not? Since he still refuses to talk to us, this time
he’ll be forced to if he’s there,” he replied. He then made a right
on a major street and headed to Moves.

Ten minutes later, they arrived at Moves and
drove through the parking lot.

“Damn, it’s crowded as hell here tonight!
Don’t any of these kids seventeen and under have a curfew?” Seals
said.

“Probably not,” Sherwood replied. “But we’re
not here to bust them for it. I’m gonna park in the back and maybe
we can have someone let us in the back way. If someone recognizes
us and knows that we’re cops, I don’t want someone tipping Carson
off and he sneaks out of the back and we end up missing him
again.”

“Good idea,” Seals replied.

Sherwood drove around to the back of the
club and noticed that Carmine’s car was here, along with a few
other cars that belonged to the employees. “Well, we know that
Carmine is here.”
