“Love me? What the hell do you know about love,
Kelly Storm
?” As if a light bulb had turned on in his head, his mouth twitched into a wicked grin. “I think I know what you want from me. You’re here for a fuck job, aren’t you? Then by all means, I’ll give you one good fuck!”

“Parker . . . I—”

“You don’t want it? I can practically feel your body buzzing with want, my dear Kelly. Tell me you don’t want it!”

“I want you, but not this way. You have to believe—”

Parker grabbed her arm and pulled her into his spare bedroom. She flinched from the pain but gritted her teeth to keep from crying out.
I deserve this
, she reminded herself.

“Safeword!” he demanded, dragging her to the massage table. The room was dark, the blinds drawn tight. “Get on the table!”

Kelly stumbled backward, inching toward the table, not taking her eyes off him. She scrambled up, feeling her way in the darkness.

“Parker . . . I—”

“Safeword!”

He turned on the lights. Kelly blinked, adjusting to the sudden glare. His lips twitched into a harsh smile. She wanted to say something, anything to diffuse his anger, but nothing came out. Hunger burned in his eyes when he gazed in her direction. Her breath hitched as he removed his shirt to reveal his muscular torso. Then he shed his pants, revealing powerful thighs that rippled with each movement.

She reached out, aching to run her fingers over every taut muscle and commit each hard line to memory. He licked his lips. As if he’d read her mind, he stopped short of pulling his boxers down. Parker was deliberate, forcing her to watch his every movement. She couldn’t peel her eyes away, because the thought of not seeing him anymore was unbearable. Despite the crippling fear, her body responded to him, her stomach tightening with arousal. Kelly gasped when he pulled down his underwear and taunted her with his proud erection. Her gaze traveled up and down his magnificent body.
What sweet torture!

“Can’t come up with a safeword? Let me give you one.” Parker moved toward her like a predator after its prey, his eyes flashing with the same fury she’d seen out in the hallway. He circled the table, his muscles flexing. “Fraud. Repeat it, Kelly. Say it.”

His accusation bit into her as tears of guilt slid down her cheeks. “No . . .”

She sounded meek. “I won’t use it. I’m not a fraud. I left some things out because I wanted to protect you, even if you don’t believe me. But all the time we were together, everything was real. Every act was me, and every single word was true.” She paused to catch her breath. “Forgive. Forgive is my safeword.”

He smirked. “So it is,” he said with enough sarcasm to make her flinch.

After snatching a condom from the drawer, he made a big production of sheathing himself in front of her, taking his time and showing her every bit of the process. She wrapped her arms around her body in a useless attempt to hold herself together. Feeling terrified, yet aroused in a sick way, Kelly realized the right thing to do would be to get out of the room, but all this had been her doing. There was a steep price for her intentional omissions, and this was it. Parker flicked off the lights and turned to her, his eyes narrowing. He tugged on her blouse.

“I’m going to fuck you more than once because I know you like it. You have the option of leaving now if you think you can’t take it. Do it while I still have some control left. Once I begin, I expect nothing from you. I don’t want to hear any explanations or apologies. You’re only allowed to utter your safeword. After this night, we’re going our separate ways and forget we ever met.”

Parker worked at yanking her blouse open, one button after the other. She shivered, not from the draft in the room but from the coldness of his words.

Kelly bit her lip, trying to stifle her cries.
How can someone so beautiful turn so ugly?
The whole night was morphing into a nightmare. When the last button was undone, he pulled her blouse free and threw it on the floor. She covered her breasts with her hands, feeling vulnerable and outright exposed.

“Lie down, spread your arms and legs,” he commanded while mounting the table.

She followed his orders, stretching her legs apart and raising her arms over her head. Parker pulled a strap from each corner.

“I’m going to tie you up while I show you what I really am in the bedroom.” He hesitated. “Now is the time to leave.”

“No . . . I’m staying.” She tried to keep the nervousness from her voice.

He started restraining her wrists and sneered. “You’re gonna love this.”

Parker fitted and checked the straps on her ankles, cinching each one tight, making it impossible to touch him or to wrap her legs around his body. Each click of a buckle added to her unspoken terror. He moved away for a moment, and then produced a mask. Kelly shrank back and suppressed the urge to cry out, fighting the hysteria coursing through her.

“This is for you.” Parker taunted her, dangling the mask over her face.

She understood his pain, his loss, and the sting of her betrayal. He’d trusted her, and she had lied to him. It was her doing that he’d turned into this unfeeling man before her—vengeful and on the verge of blind rage. Parker had let her behind his guarded walls, and she’d crumbled them to pieces, breaking him apart.

How ironic could it be? Kelly had hid beneath disguises while seeking obscurity. Now that she was baring herself to him, he shoved a mask on her, as if to tell himself she’d been a different person all along. She shivered, and another wave of panic shot through her when he fitted the mask on her face.

“You’re getting excited. I can feel it,” he whispered.

Kelly began taking shallow breaths as soon as the mask was in place. It felt cold, isolating, and impersonal. She kept her emotions in check, not wanting to fuel his rage by her cries of weakness.

With the small eyeholes restricting her view, she couldn’t see what Parker was about to do next. Cold air brushed her bare skin when he shoved her skirt up around her waist. She trembled, chills racing across her body. His rough and demanding touch traced every contour, so different from his usual feather light caresses. A ripple of anxiety mixed with a strange sense of anticipation wreaked havoc with her emotions as he hovered over her center.

“You’re already hot for me,” he said beneath his breath.

With one powerful stroke, Parker yanked her lacy thong and ripped it away from her body, shredding her heart and hope into a million pieces. Then he stopped.

Kelly smothered a moan when Parker’s mouth grazed her center and teased her folds. The velvet touch of his tongue licking, flicking her clit, made her scream with pleasure. Even with the harsh words he’d said earlier, flames of lust still flickered inside her, igniting her. Shivering with want despite her fear, she arched her body upward to allow his tongue to drift further inside, but he shifted his position and appeared in her line of vision.

She focused on his mouth and yearned for his soft kisses, his tongue sucking and nibbling hers. Kelly wanted the damned mask off. If she could kiss him, she’d be able to redeem herself in some small way and show him just how much he meant to her. Of course, he’d never kiss her, not now, not ever. Instead, he reached around her back and unsnapped her bra. Her breasts spilled out of its confines like hot lava, burning and ready. Parker yanked the bra down across her chest, low enough to leave her exposed. He braced his body and moved down to her chest. She shuddered when his tongue toyed with one nipple, brushing the other tip once before sucking it hard enough to send a delicious thrill mixed with discomfort through her. She quivered as he applied more pressure by drawing in the apex with his teeth. She cried out as he bit each tip, climbing to the peak of delicious arousal as he played with each one.

Parker grunted with satisfaction at her response and sheathed his dick inside her. Kelly jerked forward, and her walls felt like they were ready to tear while accommodating his sheer size. Moaning with the mix of pleasure and pain, her body adjusted to his invasion. She suppressed the urge to scream at the confusing thoughts searing inside her. He paused yet again and brought his face closer to her.

“I’m going to fuck you real hard. I’m going to make you scream with pleasure and pain.” It wasn’t a threat. It sounded more like a promise.

Parker began pounding into her, imposing his will upon her. If he was rubbing her faults in her face, then he was getting his explicit message across. If he wanted to humiliate her as payback, he was succeeding.

His promise became reality—she screamed at the painful friction of his dick against her walls while he slashed in and out of her with punishing determination. With his body pinning her down, he didn’t let up until all emotions but humiliation drained out of her.

Kelly couldn’t help but think of what Parker had gone through in the past few days. He had always been gentle, reassuring, and careful. She couldn’t even begin to fathom the hurt and embarrassment she’d caused him with her dishonesty, making him more conscious of his disability. The woman dying on his table had added to his misery and vulnerability. What man would want his weakness shoved in his face?

The small table shook with each hard thrust, grinding and punishing until their bodies were drenched in sweat. Parker bellowed as his first release came. Seeming pleased with himself, he jumped off the table and walked around. His footsteps, aside from her thudding heart, were the only sound she could hear.

“That’s your first fuck for the night.”

Breathing hard, Kelly tried to follow his movement, but the mask restricted her vision. After a few minutes, he was back on top of her.

“Remember your safeword,” he whispered before spearing his engorged dick inside her again. True to his words, Parker fucked her one more time. Rough, hurried, and filled with unconcealed loathing, he ground his body against hers, plunging himself deep into her with each thrust. “I trusted you, Ann. I loved you. How could you not tell me? Is it because I’m blind? I thought you were different. I expected more from you.” His voice was low but reproachful.

Loved? The weight of each accusation he hurled at her was like knife to her heart. With crystal clarity, a realization hit her with full force. Her betrayal had triggered something he’d been concealing from everyone. Somewhere in his past, he had been hurt, rejected. Her lies had magnified his deepest fears and uncertainties.

“Parker, I love you—”

“Not a word. No more lies, Ann. No more.” He called her by the name he’d known her by, and it wasn’t the first time. Was it an indication there could still be hope for them?

Parker continued his rough thrusting. The unspoken answer was clear.
No
. There was no hope for them. His formidable jaw clenched, and his eyes closed, effective in shutting her out. Kelly ached for him and felt useless to help heal his hurt. She wished she could wipe away the deep-seated inadequacies her lies had awakened in him. He groaned as he pummeled into her, mindless of her distress. Parker didn’t ease up. He kept hammering away at a steady pace. She was ashamed and angry at herself. It was too late.

“I had wicked dreams of you, Ann. Now all I see is your deceit and how you used me to quench your appetite for sex. Are you happy now?” He panted, trying to catch his breath. “This is the fucking you wanted, right?”

In the glow from the corner nightlight, she saw the hard lines and the dreadful expression on his face.
I deserve to hear this,
she thought, miserable and unable to control the flood of tears.

“No . . . I wanted to tell you, but you told me it could wait. I know it’s a bit late now. Can’t you give me a chance?”

Parker muttered an oath before thrusting harder and deeper into her. She gasped at his violent response, but in spite of it all, every inch of him left her breathless, making her ache for more.

“You’re wasting your breath,” he said, and his ragged breathing rang in her ear. “There is no
us
.” His fingers dug into her shoulders, his pounding turning more intense. “If that one night managed to produce a child, I
will
stand as its father, but there is no us.”

She cried out at the cruelty of his words. The world as she knew it crumbled around her, killing even the tiniest of hope.

His words slashed deep, puncturing her already wounded soul. Oblivious to her misery, he kept his pace. Parker was relentless, rough, and furious, and all she could hear was the angered thumping of their bodies coming together. The rasping of her back scraping the leather table burned her skin. She was a mere ragdoll, and her body was his playground. He pummeled her until he screamed his release, and hers shattered soon after. Kelly’s muffled cries echoed beneath the stifling mask as a he appeared in her line of vision. If vengeance had a face, it was looking down on her now.

Kelly raised her head and spoke as clearly as she could from the confines of the mask. Not seeing him anymore would be unbearable, but there was no telling how deep his issues were and if he could ever get over them. This was about more than just her lies, she realized. Parker had been harboring insecurities and anger long before her deceit.
