A long breath hissed from Cody, but she didn’t stop or look up. She squeezed gently, then drew her hand up and down. His cock responded, hardening and lengthening.

Then she moved, sliding down his torso until her lips were close to the broad head.

She flicked out her tongue, barely brushing the tip.

“Fuck.” Cody’s voice sounded pained.

But she knew better.

She knew this man. She loved this man. Giving him pleasure was addictive.

She licked again, like licking an ice cream cone, swirling around the end. He tasted better than any ice cream she’d ever had in her life.

She felt his fingers tangle in her hair, and it turned her on immensely. She opened her mouth, taking more of him. Her hand stroked the length that she couldn’t fully take in her mouth.

“Holy… Liv… Jesus…” Cody chanted.

She slid her mouth up and down, then sucked hard.

His hips bucked and his grip on her hair tightened almost painfully.

“I can’t take it,” he rasped. “I can’t believe it, but I need you again, already.”

She lifted her head, loving the look of his cock, now hard and shiny from her mouth. “Let me do this.”

“No. Now.”

Without warning, he sat up, turning her onto her stomach.

His hand rubbed over her ass as he moved behind her, then pulled her onto her hands and knees.

The way he took charge surprised her and made her hot. Cody was easygoing with her. He was sweet, considerate, always let her make the decisions. But now he was commanding, handling her possessively, talking to her with pure emotion.

“I will never get enough of you,” he muttered, pressing his belly against her butt.

He reached around with one hand to find her clit, while his knees moved hers farther apart. He rubbed over her clit, then dipped into her. She was wet and hot and excited and a bit nervous about this position.

“I can’t wait to lick you after you come again,” he told her.

She felt him moving behind her and heard the sound of a condom wrapper tearing. Should she tell him she hadn’t come the first time?

Then he was back in position, one hand on her hip and one guiding his cock into her.

Talking was overrated.

When he thrust into her, all she could think was nothing mattered but this. Him being a part of her, him wanting her so much, him claiming her. She would never have guessed that Cody could be so dominating—or that she’d like it so much.

“Heaven,” he said, stroking deep and sure. “Absolute heaven.”

He ran a hand up and down her back, squeezing her ass, then trailing around to pinch her nipples.

Olivia felt the familiar clenching start, the tightening deep inside where she wanted to hold Cody forever. But the climb was again slow. His strokes were steady, hitting her spot perfectly each time, moving her higher and closer to climax, but it felt too far off. She really wanted to come this time. She wanted to suck him in. She wanted to clamp down on him so he could barely move in and out.

She knew exactly how to get there. She dropped her head, her hair falling forward, and reached between her legs to circle her clit. Cody was right there, thrusting, and she quickly felt the spiraling of an orgasm.

“God, Liv,” he groaned. “Yes, that makes you tighten up even more.” He thrust a few more times. “Taste yourself,” he encouraged breathlessly.

His words made heat wash over her, and she lifted her hand to her mouth.

“Suck on your fingers.”

She did, tasting herself, imagining Cody’s tongue on her.

“Cody,” she gasped, dropping her hand to the floor to brace herself as he thrust faster.

“I’ve wanted you like this for so long, but I never imagined how hot it would really be,” he told her, gathering her hair in one hand and tipping her head back. “I want to do you all night, in every position. I want to break a table and knock over a lamp.”

It wasn’t even specifically hot or sexy phrases or words, but the images he put into her mind made her drop her upper body to the floor, her ass up higher to take him.

“Holy…
Liv
.”

And he came, hard and fast, driving into her like he was possessed.

He slumped forward over her back, then tucked her to his stomach and rolled, spooning with her on the floor.

She worked to take deep breaths, her whole body tingling.

Cody’s orgasms with her were almost as good as having one of her own.

They lay together for several minutes. Cody absently stroked her hip, his breathing slowing.

Finally he said, “So maybe we should try out the bed.”

She chuckled. “There’s a bed?”

He rolled to his back and stretched, groaning in satisfaction. “I might have to check in for a couple of days to recover.”

She rolled to face him. He was gorgeous. His dark hair was rumpled now and he wore a goofy, relaxed smile.

She was in love.

But there was a problem.

She couldn’t seem to have an orgasm.

Her phone started to ring.

She glanced around for a clock and finally located one over the desk.

“You need to get that?”

“It’s Emma calling to save me.”

“Save you?” He propped up on one elbow.

“From my blind date. We had a deal that if she didn’t get a text from me by eight, she’d call with a reason for me to escape.”

He grinned and reached out, twirling a strand of her hair around his finger. “You gonna tell her that you’re fine?”

She was more than fine. But… “I hadn’t planned on staying out all night even if the date was going well,” she said. Definitely not with her Perfect Pick date, no matter if he was a ninety-eight percent match or not. “It’s sister slumber party tonight.” She pushed to her feet and headed for her clothes.

Right now he was feeling good and cocky, but if she stayed around, he’d eventually figure out that she wasn’t quite
there.
Or she’d have to start faking it. She wasn’t sure she could pull that off. She needed some sisterly advice. She needed to decide if she needed to do something different or tell Cody about it or…

“Sister slumber party?”

She paused in pulling her clothes on, glancing at him and feeling desire hit her again hard. What were they talking about? “It’s rare when all the guys are working at night, but once in a while it happens and we do a slumber party. Shane’s got the night shift tonight at the police station, Ryan agreed to cover a couple of the guys on Sam Bradford’s crew and Nate got called in for an emergency surgery that’s going to take several hours.”

“But
I’m
not working tonight.”

The sexy tone in his voice made her tingle. He was grinning at her, and she was so tempted to strip down and do it all again.

But no. She needed to figure out what was she was doing wrong. Because, dammit, sex with her and Cody was supposed to be perfect. Like everything else.

And if it wasn’t…what did that mean? Sex was a big deal in a relationship. She couldn’t fake it forever, and she didn’t
want
to fake it forever. If she and Cody couldn’t set off the fireworks she knew were possible, did that mean he really wasn’t the perfect guy for her?

She slipped her shoes on, carefully not looking at that grin or that body or, most of all, those eyes—those beautiful, espresso-brown eyes. He’d know something was wrong and she’d never get out of here. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow,” she said.

She pulled the door open and started to step through when Cody said, “Liv?”

She steeled herself and turned back. “Yeah?”

“I’m becoming a big fan of destiny.”

She sucked in a quick breath. Destiny. Could he be her destiny without fireworks?

Looking at him now, she couldn’t imagine him
not
being the one. She was just going to have to do something about the fireworks. And she had three very good resources to help her. If she could get out of here.

Forcing a smile, she nodded. “Destiny is a big deal.”

He smiled tenderly. “I’m glad you’re mine.”

She stumbled over some silly words like “later” and “had fun”, then turned and fled.

“Maybe I’ve been using my vibrators
too
much,” Olivia mused.

Amanda choked on her drink. “What?”

Olivia looked over at her, completely serious. “It’s not the same kind of thing, you know? Maybe my body and brain are so used to
that
kind of orgasm that the other kinds are too hard.”

“Honey, you and Cody have known each other a long time, but not like this. It takes time to learn another person, to figure out what make them tick. Even in the bedroom,” Isabelle said.

“So you had problems having orgasms with Shane in the beginning?” Olivia asked, knowing that was not at all the case.

“Well, um…” Isabelle looked at the other girls. “No. But…”

“Shane was better at it than Cody?” Olivia asked. “You think Shane is a better lover?” She was aware that she sounded incredibly defensive. And
she
was the one who had told them that things hadn’t worked.

Isabelle gave her a wide-eyed look. “That’s not what I’m saying at all.”

“Then what are you saying?” Olivia knew she was riled up, but this was a big deal. Wasn’t it? Maybe not. Maybe her sisters could convince her this was going to be okay.

“I’m simply saying maybe you need more time together,” Isabelle said.

“More sex?” Olivia asked.

“Maybe.” Isabelle didn’t look entirely sure on that though.

Olivia turned to Emma. “What do you think?”

“I think I’m feeling really sorry for Cody.” Emma was sitting in the chair perpendicular to them, with her feet up on the coffee table.

“Why Cody?” Olivia asked. “
He
had a great time.”

Emma grinned. “I’m sure. I’m saying that you had really high expectations.”

“My vibrator is too big?”

This time Amanda did spit some of her mojito out. She covered her mouth. “Sorry.”

Emma’s grin grew. “I wasn’t talking about the size of things, Liv. I was talking about the fireworks thing you keep mentioning. You had sex built up to be this amazing thing. You had Cody built up to be this amazing thing. You put them together expecting…dynamite. It’s going to be
really
hard for anything to measure up to that, you know?”

“Sex isn’t amazing?” Olivia demanded. Emma had been the most active of them all before she got together with Nate, and now, whenever the two of them were within five feet of each other, the temperature in the room went up.

“Sex is amazing,” her sister said with a nod.

“And having sex with the person you love and trust most isn’t amazing?”

“Sex with the right person
is
amazing.”

“So Cody’s not the right person?”

Emma rolled her eyes. “You’re not the dramatic one, Liv. You’re the sweet, quiet, optimist.”

Suddenly all of her indignation left her. Olivia slumped back into the love seat. “I know.”

“Don’t overreact,” Isabelle said. She stood and went to Olivia’s desk, grabbing her laptop. “You can have orgasms with a vibrator. So use it
with
Cody.”

“Toys with a partner can be really fun,” Emma agreed. “He won’t mind.”

“You sure?” Olivia asked. “What if he’s offended that he can’t be…enough?”

Emma shrugged. “I think he’ll want you to have a good time, and he wants it to be with him. I’m sure he’ll go for whatever it takes.”

Olivia sat up a little straighter. “Hey, that’s true. It might be me. I’ve never tried this with anyone else. Maybe I can’t have an orgasm with
anyone.

Isabelle looked up from where she was typing on the laptop. “You sound almost excited about that possibility.”

She was, Olivia acknowledged. “If it’s
me
, if I can’t do that with
anyone
, then that doesn’t mean Cody’s not my soul mate. There’s no other guy out there who’s more my match, because I wouldn’t be able to do that with anyone.”

It was a strange thing to be relieved over the possibility that she might never be able to have an orgasm with a partner.

“Okay, it says here that some people feel you can become desensitized to other stimulation by using a vibrator a lot,” Isabelle said. “Apparently, your brain can become trained to react to a specific stimulation and it dulls the ability to react to others.” She looked up. “Not everyone agrees that it can happen, but some sex counselors say that it’s possible.”

“Does it say what to do about it?” Olivia asked, leaning forward. Her optimism was returning.

“Stop using it for a while,” Isabelle read. “Or yes, use it with him. Or use it to show him what you like.”

“No man can reproduce those vibrations,” Emma said. “No matter who he is.”

“There are cock rings,” Isabelle said.

Olivia looked at her. “Huh?”
