“Styx?” Ty asked.

Styx looked at Mira, who nodded. “I can handle it.”

“Very well.”

“Does that mean you are officially taking the position?” Tabitha came to stand next to Ty, who wrapped his arm around her waist.

“I guess it does.” She glanced around the room until she turned to face Carran. “I believe in what you’re doing here. You have the right to live without hiding what you are. If you’re going to come out, then you need to get your house in order.”

“When you came into my life, I wondered about having a mate with such a backbone. The cop in you wants to fight and stand for justice and I want to protect you from anything that might hurt you.” He cupped the side of her face. “You came to me when I needed you the most. My sweet Brooklynn…I love you.”

“Here I thought I was the one who needed you.” She wrapped her arms around his waist. “You opened a new world to me. One that was both terrifying and exciting. Life will never be the same again. As long as you’re by my side…I don’t want it to be.”

As if realizing they wanted to be alone, everyone quietly stepped out, leaving the newly mated couple to embrace alone. After her father had died, she never felt like she really belonged. But here with him…that’s where she belonged.

orn and raised
in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, Marissa Dobson now resides about an hour from Washington, D.C. She’s a lady who likes to keep busy, and is always busy doing something. With two different college degrees, she believes you’re never done learning.

Being the first daughter to an avid reader, this gave her the advantage of learning to read at a young age. Since learning to read she has always had her nose in a book. It wasn't until she was a teenager that she started writing down the stories she came up with.

Marissa is blessed with a wonderful supportive husband, Thomas. He’s her other half and allows her to stay home and pursue her writing. He puts up with all her quirks and listens to her brainstorm in the middle of the night.

Her writing buddy Pup Cameron, a cocker spaniel, who is always around to listen to her bounce ideas off him. He might not be able to answer, but he’s helpful in his own ways.
