“Impressive,” Lorias smirked holding the bag in his hand

“But not good enough,” He laughed. Reaching for the bag in his hands, he shimmered out of the field as Peggy began to wake.

“Shit!” I sighed rubbing my forehead in annoyance. Punching the air Peggy nudge me her nose.

“At least your ok,” I smiled kissing her mane. Now Lorias had all of the crystals, this is so bad. We have a fight on our hands now. He won’t give up until he gets the diamond stone and puts it in the holder at the church in Icarus. In order to open the gate. How could I be so stupid and take the crystal out of the castle without protection. Slapping my forehead I felt someone behind me. Turning faster than I had turned before, I froze Logan in mid air. Letting him go he landed on his feet arms length away from me.

“Where did you go?” I shrieked pushing him in the chest.

“Whoa, wait he transported me away,” He yelled grabbing hold of my arms. Struggling against his strong grip, I sighed in defeat.

“It doesn’t matter anyway, you wouldn’t of help” sighing I loosened my fists.

“Yes I would of,” He sighed releasing the grip he had on my arms.

“I’m actually screwed,” I cried collapsing to sit on the ground. Wrapping my arms around my knees, Logan sat beside me. Despite the grunting noises from Peggy who had regained her former position grazing. She didn’t seem fazed by the attack on her which was a good sign.

“Yes you are,” he sighed. Scowling at him I let go of my knees and laid down on the grass.

“Cheers for that,” I sighed covering my eyes to shut out the sunlight.

“I need to tell you something,” He sighed. Taking my hands from my eyes, I sat up to look at him. His eyes were covered by his hair so I couldn’t see the extent of his facial expression.

“This doesn’t seem good,” I frowned.

“It’s not. I think you need to brace yourself for this news flash,” He sighed not looking in my direction but to the open field.

“To tell you the truth. I’m feeling the pressure and would really like to close my eyes and shut out the crap that’s going on. So unless its life and death, can we do it another time,” I asked rubbing my temples. Now I had to face the others and tell them I had been robbed of the remaining crystal. That in its self was filling me with total dread. Never mind facing the wrath of hell when an unknown gate was opened. This is not a good year for me.

“Life and death is exactly what this is Elle,” He exclaimed staring at me intently.

“In that case hit me with it. It can’t possibly be worse than having the devils gate open,” I sighed returning his stare.

“Actually…”

“Oh come on Logan,” I cried placing my head in my hands.

“It’s not like I like seeing you in distress” he sighed tucking my hair behind my ears.

“Don’t,” I muttered pulling away from his touch. I can’t deal with my feelings towards him and everything else. I had to priorities the thoughts in my head. The devils gate had to come first above my insane crush on him.

“Sorry. I found out something from that book I told you about. It says that in order for someone to open up the devils gate they need more than the crystals…”

“Yeah they need a diamond shaped key,” I sighed. I might as well tell him about the diamond as nothing else could possibly go wrong.

“That’s not all, they need a person. Well a magical being,” He explained. Of course,  that’s not all they need. Why did I think it would be over that quickly. Let me guess they need a unicorn because of their pure good magic or even a leprechaun for their luck.

“What do they need a pure blood?” I asked.

“No, A being who is half and half. Half evil and half good,”

“Me?” I gulped. I was the key to opening up a gate way to hell. That’s impossible, why would I do that. They couldn’t make me.

“Are you serious?”

“No,  this is the face I pull when I’m joking.” Searching his face for a hint of humour I wished I could find, I found nothing but his dark blue eyes.

My stomach knotted at the thought of being the person that turns the door handle to every demon that has been killed or taken into hell and releasing them into this realm and all the others.

“They are going to use the portals to get through the other realms,” I exclaimed. A light bulb flashed on in my head as the images all clicked. The elves in the woods that night when they yelled at me in their pink and green outfits, they were trying to tell me. This big showdown was going to happen in Icarus that’s why the elves were so scared.

“What big event is coming up?” I asked Logan who was staring at me in shock.

“You did just hear what I Said right?” He asked raising his eyebrow in the sexy way he does. Concentrate Elle.

“Yes I heard and I’m freaked out, but I have an Idea when and where it’s going to happen,” I breathed.

“When?” He asked.

“Ok so I’m still working on the When, but it’s going to happen in Icarus. I sort of had a vision, but that doesn’t matter now. The diamond fits in the chest in the church,” I paused for a moment taking in all of what I had said. Everything was clicking into place, lifting a weight off the headache that had been forming for the last week.

“So,” He sighed scrunching his face, so his forehead wrinkled.

“Sorry I’m not explaining this very well am I,” I apologised. Shifting my body I faced him as he continued to look confused.

“First you have to swear you are not in on this with Lorias. If you are then I’d make your life a living hell…Wait I’ll make your life like heaven,” I smiled sweetly.

“I swear on my life which by the way, I value very much,” He laughed

“That I am not part of this insane plan to awaken something that even my father is afraid of,” He sighed zipping up his brown leather jacket as a gust of wind blew past us. Peggy quivered in the cold air as it ruffled her mane.

This offering I give to you

One body with the mind of two

Break the seal to reveal

The darkness that is within

Take away the ultimate power

Breathe in life to what once was

Break the cage and free the soul

Release the demon from its hole

The wind spoke in a light breathless voice as it whipped around us. Blowing through our hair and fluttering through the grass.

“Is that back?” I asked pulling myself up from the ground.

This offering I give to you

One body with the mind of two

Break the seal to reveal

The darkness that is within

Take away the ultimate power

Breathe in life to what once was

Break the cage and free the soul

Release the demon from its hole

Listening this time I tried to pick up what it was saying. This offering I give to you one body with the mind of two. Where have I heard that before, now that was really going to bug me. Break the seal to reveal the darkness that is within. That was the writing on the Diamond. What is the wind trying to tell me and why was I even listening to it.

“Do you know this wind?” Logan asked standing beside me

“That might be the weirdest thing I’ve ever said,” He laughed as I tried to concentrate.

I defiantly heard it all that time. It was the writing written on the diamond which was going to be a part of the key the other half being me. I really need to contemplate that a little more. It was a very big deal after all.  One thing at a time and that is the talking wind that I need to look up a little more.

“No, , but the words it's saying are the words written on the Diamonds metal case,” I croaked.

“This offering I give to you, one body with the mind of two,” I mumbled.

“Which means…?” He asked scratching his head. My head is alive with thoughts. I should have known he wouldn’t be on the same page I was. My mind was soaring with images and words flying around and piecing themselves together, like my own personal puzzle.

“One body with the mind of two, means evil and good in one body aka mine,” I explained. The vibration in my pocket took my mind off the puzzle for a second. Looking at the caller Id Alex’s name flashed on the screen. My mind was too busy figuring things out to answer her. Passing the phone to Logan I asked him to answer it.

“Hello,” He answered. “No,  she’s a bit busy at the moment, babbling about a diamond key whilst listening to the wind. Is that normal?” He chuckled with the phone to his ear.

“Completely,” Alex laughed appearing next to us. Stroking Peggy’s face she smiled at me and then at Logan. Whatever she was thinking, it was so not the time.

“Logan,” She smirked.

“Alex,” He replied smiling whilst giving me back my phone.

“Ok then, so we all know each other. Awesome” I sighed, placing the phone back into my jacket pocket.

The wind whispered again. It was persistent ill give it that, but I knew what it was saying. It didn’t need to keep repeating itself.

“I’m on it!” I yelled feeling like a fool yet again talking to thin air, literally.

“Awesome, so what are we on then?” Alex asked putting her arm around me.

“Well apparently I’m the key to opening up the Devil’s gate. One body with the mind of two…”

“Not apparently, you are,” Logan interrupted.

“Fine.  Now the next lines are, break the seal to reveal the darkness within then, take away the ultimate power breath in life to what once was.” I paused. They want to take away my powers and give them to someone or something that is dead in hell. Now that fills me with dread.

“I think I’m going to faint,” I sighed. My body felt limp, and I fell to the ground. Logan pulled me back up again.

“Steady their gorgeous. I know I’m handsome, but no need to swoon,” He mocked as my body regained its normal bone structure.

“You’re so funny,” I moaned leaning on him to stable myself further.

“So they want to take away your power and what?” Alex asked.

“Give it to someone from down under,” Logan replied taking my arm from leaning on him, to wrapping it around his neck.

“Well done stud,” I replied. It felt comfortable to be so close to him which scared me a lot. I shouldn’t want to be this close to him. Taking my arm from around his neck, I stood up straight and walked over to Peggy.

“So what’s the rest of it?” Alex asked, trying to fix the awkwardness that had developed between us all.

“Break the cage and free the soul, release the demon from its hole,” I replied. We know that we are releasing something but who and why.

“There’s me thinking one sentence couldn’t fill me with total dread,” Alex sighed.

“Any idea Mr. Stud?” I asked biting my lip as he glanced over to me.

“One and you’re not going to like it,” He smiled mockingly whilst sitting on the ground. I’m not going to like it, well I don’t like the whole situation. So it doesn’t make a difference to the way I feel.

“Hit me with it,” I replied walking back over to sit beside him. Alex stepped over us and sat next to me.  Looking over at us Peggy grunted whilst moving closer to where we were sat.

“I think they may be trying to bring back Demetri. He was a servant of Satan and a serious bad ass demon. Trust me, if they are bringing him back. You’re going to want to stop them,” He fretted. His forehead began to crinkle with worry.

“That’s the plan,” I smiled. He stared at me with his deep blue eyes. I wanted to run my fingers through his hair, but that would have been entirely inappropriate. Sticking my hands into the pockets of my jacket, the silk lining served as a cage. Keeping my wandering hands locked down. Elle stop being hormonal and keep your crush on Logan in check.

“So this Demetri Guy what’s his deal?” Alex asked breaking the staring contest me and Logan had going on. I turned away from him and turned my head to face her instead. She smiled at me cockily as I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t really know a lot about him. Just that he raised a lot of hell when he was alive…”

“Another night in the library for us Al,” I interrupted Logan.

“I wished I could help further girls, but I have to go. I have this thing, and it needs walking and shrinking,” He mumbled standing up.
