Gavin moved aside and roughly flipped her onto her belly. Putting his arm under her hips he lifted her slightly so she was on her knees. Amy’s hands stretched out above her head, her chest still on the bed. He had her in a very compromising position.

“I asked you a question!”

Gavin slapped the cheek just enough for it to sting. Then he rubbed it away, leaning down to kiss it. Amy felt her pussy clench. She squeezed her eyes, knowing she was on the brink of a bone-melting orgasm.

“Do you want me to eat you or fuck you?” Gavin demanded.

“I don’t care! Just do something!” Amy pulled against the restraints.

Gavin slapped her again, on the other cheek, repeating the same actions as before.

“Choose!” Gavin demanded. Amy moaned. “And I want you to be specific. You know what I want to hear.” He rubbed her ass again.

Amy couldn’t speak.

“Amy…” Gavin leaned closer to her. “Choose! Damn it! Or I’ll choose.” Gavin ran his hand over her cheek once more. “In this position, you might not get it where you think you should.”

Amy’s eyes flew open and to reiterate his point, Gavin put his finger deep into Amy’s slick pussy and pulled out. He pressed his finger against the bud of her ass.

“You’ve got two seconds.” Gavin pressed his finger a little harder against her bud. “One…”

“Fuck me!” Amy screamed.

“Where?”

“In my pussy! Gavin! Please!”

“Do you want my cock inside you?”

“Yes!”

“Say it!” Gavin rubbed himself against her slit.

“Fuck my pussy with your cock.”

“Oh yeah, my little hottie, I’m going to fuck you, all right. Be prepared, baby. It’ll be like nothing we’ve ever done,” Gavin snarled.

Gavin rubbed the head of his cock against her slit once more. He rubbed her back lovingly with his free hand and Amy felt herself clench. She squeezed her eyes shut and grabbed the restraints. She was doing everything she could to keep from coming.

“Oh, baby, you’re so juicy. You’re soaking my cock. I think you liked this little game.” Gavin plowed into her.

Amy cried out in relief.

“Did you?” Gavin slammed into her again.

“Yes!” Amy screamed.

Amy clenched again. This time there was no hiding it from Gavin. He smacked her again.

“Did I tell you to come?” Gavin thrust into her faster and harder.

Gavin wrapped his hand around her long hair and pulled back. It changed the pressure of his thrust, making it more intense.

“No,” Amy whimpered.

Gavin was unforgiving as he pumped hard and fast.

“Gavin! Please! I can’t wait anymore.”

Gavin reached around and played with Amy’s clit.

“Now, honey. Come for me,” Gavin commanded.

Amy screamed at the sensation. Her body convulsed and every muscle locked as she hit her intense climax. She couldn’t move as her muscles relaxed and tightened again. She bucked against him as her body released the pent-up sensual stress she had been forced to suppress. The climax she experienced was like nothing she had ever known.

“That’s it, baby, squeeze my cock.”

Gavin released her hair and moved his fingers from Amy. He grabbed her hips, thrusting into her as he started his own violent descent. As the storm passed, he relaxed over her body. He was panting as he moved his hands up and down her body.

“Amy, honey,” Gavin breathed against her skin.

Gavin reached up and with one hand released her restraints. Amy collapsed as he slid off her. She couldn’t speak. He pulled her to him and held her close. Now able to use her hands, she weakly put her hand on his chest as she fought to catch her breath. He kissed her forehead and pulled her closer. She was still trembling from the experience she had just had.

“I’ve got another surprise for you,” Gavin said with a smile.

“Oh my God, Gavin! I don’t think I can survive another surprise like that,” Amy lamented.

Gavin laughed that sensual laugh that gave her butterflies.

“Get dressed for our sleigh ride. I’ll give it to you then,” Gavin said.

They walked through the shops in Colonial Williamsburg. The snow on the ground turned the town magical with all the soft night lighting. Amy marveled at how much it looked like a Christmas village come to life. He had promised her a sleigh ride before they left, so they walked through the town, waiting their turn. They boarded the sleigh and covered up. As they got underway he pulled her close, and she snuggled against him.

“How do you like your trip?” Gavin asked.

“Oh, Gavin! It’s been amazing. This is the best little vacation I’ve ever been on.”

“You look happy and I love seeing you happy.”

Amy kissed him lightly.

“Baby, did I hurt you earlier? That got really intense for me. I didn’t want to hurt you or scare you. I had a reason for doing what I did,” Gavin said seriously.

Amy smiled shyly at the recollection of the events that afternoon. Gavin had managed to strip away so many barriers that held her back from living life. He gave her the security to be herself and made her explore and accept things about herself she would have never done otherwise. He was constantly challenging her limits and making her live her life to the fullest.

“That got pretty intense for me, too. But no, you didn’t hurt me. I trust you and I know if I would’ve asked you to stop, you would’ve.”

Gavin lifted her chin to his face and kissed her. “Are you sure? I love you, Amy, and I don’t want you to leave me. I mean it. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. I don’t know how I’ve lived this long without you.”

Amy snuggled closer. “I love you, too, and no, I’m not going anywhere. At this point you’ll have to chase me away.”

“You know I’m no prince charming and I’m far from perfect. Do you mean what you say?”

“No, you’re better than a prince. You’re my knight in shining armor. I can’t count the ways you’ve rescued me. And
I
mean that. I never thought I could be this content and happy. Now stop, you’re about to make me cry.”

Gavin placed a box in her lap. She picked up and looked at him, puzzled.

“What’s this?” Amy asked.

“Open it, honey,” Gavin said softly.

Amy opened the box and gasped. Inside the box was a ring with an emerald stone and
diamonds contouring the ring’s shank
. The emerald was his birthstone.

“I know it’s not a typical engagement ring, but I wanted you to have something different,” Gavin explained. Amy looked at Gavin, stunned. “Marry me, Amy. I can’t live without you and I don’t want to try.” Tears started silently falling down her stunned face. “I know you might not be ready. I’ll wait as long as you want me to. You tell me when and I’ll be there.”

Amy wrapped her arms around Gavin and finally managed to find her voice.

“Yes!” Amy whispered.

Gavin put the ring on her finger and kissed her. This time there was no question in her mind that she was ready to bind herself to a man. Irene and Amy had talked for days after Tim had proposed to her. She had to talk herself into marrying Tim.

This wasn’t the case with Gavin. This was magic and it was right. She knew what a fairy-tale princess felt like when her prince finally came to rescue her. Gavin would never abuse her the way Tim had.
Gavin
cherished her and made her
feel
cherished. He loved her and that love flowed from him every time he wrapped his arms around her. After all she had been through with Tim, she had never envisioned her life taking this direction. Gavin had healed her, making her life whole and complete.

“Don’t do that. I didn’t mean to upset you.” Gavin wiped away Amy’s tears.

“I’m not upset. I’m emotional. I’m happy,” Amy said, looking down at her finger.

Amy couldn’t believe how different her life was since meeting Gavin. She had gone from being an empty shell to being fulfilled and happy. The freedom Gavin gave her by gently challenging her never ceased to amaze her. She found herself experiencing life as never before. He gave her security, comfort and a sense of peace. He had told her how she had eased his restlessness. Amy felt as long as they were together, they could conquer anything.

“Then don’t cry. You can show me how happy you are later.” Gavin kissed Amy and pulled her close. “I can’t wait to see you in
nothing
but that ring.” He growled in her ear.

Amy giggled.

Chapter 18

1510 Blythe Road

Victoria, Texas

February 3, 2008/0019 Zulu

Amy and Gavin arrived Sunday evening in Corpus Christi. She felt refreshed. She couldn’t wait to show everyone her ring. He had asked her to drive to Corpus Christi and leave her car at airport parking so they could drive home. He seemed to be on the phone the whole way home catching up with Jimmy. They got home in time to prepare for Monday and go to bed.

They jumped back into their routine just as smoothly as they left it. Lynn was the first to see Amy’s ring and insisted they start planning the wedding immediately. Amy called Irene later in the week and asked if they could have a quiet dinner alone. Irene agreed and they met after she got off work.

“How was your trip?” Irene asked.

“Great. I had a wonderful time and I came back with a little present,” Amy said, beaming.

“Oh?”

Amy held out her left hand and showed Irene the ring Gavin had given her. Irene smiled. “Does this mean what I think it means?”

“Yes, it does. Gavin asked me to marry him and I said yes,” Amy said as her look turned serious. “I know David doesn’t like us seeing each other, but Irene, I love Gavin. I didn’t know what that meant until now. I’ve never been so happy. I know it’s soon and Gavin said he would wait as long as he had to, but
I
don’t want to wait.”

“It is very soon.
But
I do think you’re ready to move on, Amy, and I can tell you’re happy with Gavin and he’s happy with you. He’s a good man, mi hija, that’s all I can ask for.”

“Gavin offered to talk to David, Tía. I don’t know if I want him doing that. David acts as if he doesn’t like Gavin sometimes.”

“Mi hija, he’ll never like anyone for you, especially after what you went through with Tim.”

“Gavin isn’t Tim, Tía.”

Irene walked into the house and could hear the TV playing in the front room. David was home. She took a deep breath and released it. She and Amy had decided Irene would test the waters with David first. She would nonchalantly mention the fact that Amy had a new ring. She would also mention that planning the wedding that Amy wanted this time would take a while. Amy had decided she wanted a Caribbean wedding in St. Thomas.

“Irene?” David called.

“How was your day?” Irene asked as she came into the family room.

“Where’s Amy? Is she okay?” David asked.

“Oh, she’s fine,” Irene said. David grunted. “In fact, she’s positively glowing.”

“I don’t want to know.”

“David, I need to know what exactly your problem is with Gavin seeing Amy.”

“He’s not for her. How many times do I have to say that?”

“Amy doesn’t feel that way and neither does Gavin. How would you handle this if he asked Amy to marry him?”

“Motherfucker better not ask her to marry him. I won’t allow it.”

“It’s not up to you, David,” Irene said simply.

“I’ll send him back to fucking Virginia where he came from. I don’t need the fucking FBI screwing up my department
or
my family,” David retorted.

“You send him back to Virginia you’ll be sending Amy there, too. She’ll follow him, David.”

“The hell she will.”

“David, you need to accept that Amy and Gavin will be together with or without you. And, if you make things difficult you will drive Amy away. I don’t understand what the problem is. He’s good to her.”

“For now.”

“Why do you keep saying things like that? Please be specific, because your worst fear has come to pass. Gavin gave Amy a ring and asked her to marry him.”

What
?” David yelled, jumping out of his seat. “Are you fucking serious? She can’t marry him, Irene!”

“Yes, she can, and she’s planning on it. And unless you know something the rest of us don’t about Gavin Walsh, you need to tell me now while she can still get out,” Irene said calmly. David stared at her in mute hostility. “David, I need to know what the big deal is with Gavin, because I don’t want Amy hurt either, and if we need to talk with her, I need to know the plan.”

“This is all your fault, Irene! She wouldn’t be in this situation if it weren’t for you fucking interfering!” David roared.

“David, tell me what you know.”

“Why the fuck should I? You won’t listen anyway!” David walked out the door.

Irene watched David stalk down the walkway and into his car. He slammed the door shut and hastily pulled out of the driveway. She knew exactly what David was up to and was comfortable with the idea that Gavin would handle him easily. She had cautioned Amy about David possibly coming to see her when he heard the news. She hoped Amy would stay firm and do exactly what Irene had told her to do.

“I need to talk to you,” David said calmly.

“Okay, Chief, what’s up?” Gavin asked.

“Meet me at my office as soon as you can.”

“Call me when you get here, I’m at the station.”

David ended the call and drove. He was beside himself with rage and worry right now. This was the worst possible thing that could have happened to Amy. Tim was a psycho bastard and Gavin wasn’t much better. He had read Gavin’s declassified military file. The file was sparse, detailing only the first four years of Gavin’s military career. For twenty-four years in the military and most of that in the SEALs, his file should have read like a novel. The FBI wasn’t forthcoming with information regarding Walsh and his exact purpose here, either.
