He frees his hands and places them on my hips, gripping lightly. “I don’t know what to say. I’m fucking over the moon with this, but having a baby doesn’t mean you have to give up your job.”

“If it happens, I want to be home for a while. This will allow for more flexibility. I’d like to try it. I may be wrong, but it’s worth a shot. It’s hard leaving you and Brayden the weeks we have him and I’m scheduled to work. And we split custody.”

I squeal in surprise when he flips us, me flying to my back as his hand comes to my cheek.

“I really like your plan.” His eyes start to smolder with lust, transforming from green to honeyed topaz.

“Thanks,” I say, feeling the love pouring out of him.

“Anything else on your mind?”

“Not right now.” My insides stir alive, tingling with what’s coming.

“Good, because we’re going to start working on that baby, right now.” He leans down, sealing his mouth over mine in a passionate kiss.

The only thought that races through my mind is how incredibly lucky I am to have the love that Crenshaw Bennett gives me.

Every day, I grow more infatuated than that fourteen-year old girl could have ever imagined.

Acknowledgements

It’s no lie that when I get to the acknowledgments, I’m mentally drained. There are always too many people to thank and not enough ways to say it.

So this time, I’m going to
‘try’
and go with short and sweet.

None of this would be possible without the endless encouragement and support from my family. Hotshot took on a mind of its own towards the middle, which meant longer hours, less patience, and tons of time locked away with only my computer. Thank you for helping me make this possible. I love you.

Beta Readers, once again, you helped me more than words can say. I appreciate your time and honesty. Hopefully, you will enjoy the end product.

There’s a small group of women who keep me going everyday. Through thick and thin, you find a way to lift my spirits, make me laugh, and push me to keep trying. At the same time, you prove how awesome we all can be through support and praise.

Amy, you are such a dear friend of mine and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for everything you did to get me straightened out. Hope to one day return the favor.

Lisa, I know you’ve wanted to strangle me so many times, but hopefully this puts a smile on your face. Thank you for all that you do.

Kendra and Becky, thank you for your expertise.

FTN Girls~ I appreciate you all for always keeping it real.

Bloggers, you have so many choices who you promote, read, review, and support. This indie community wouldn’t be what it is without your help and hard work. Thank you for taking a chance on me and introducing others to my books.

And finally, to the readers. You have endless options where you spend your time and your money, and I am honored you choose me. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kind words, reviews, teasers, and emails. Please keep them coming my way!

For anyone I missed, I say this often… I suck! ”

About the Author

Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing. They have one amazing daughter.

Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach, which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand.
