Surely not. I wasn’t that lucky. He’d get his groove soon. It’s probably the fact that I was in the room that had him off his game. That’d make me nervous. You know, performing with another partner in front of the person you had been sleeping with for the past week straight.

Yes, that’s it. Rachel will touch him in the right spot soon and he’ll fall back into the act, paying no mind that I’m here.

He grabbed and pushed it away. “I’m sure. That’ll be all.”

She looks more than shocked and I know he’s not sticking to the script.

Rachel then dropped to her knees in one last attempt. “But, Mr. Storm…”

“I said that was all,” he boomed. “Your job here is done, Rach.” He pointed toward the door.

Silence filled the room as everyone wondered what was going on. Brent and I locked eyes as he strutted my way. He grabbed my chair and spun it toward him. I stood up, ready for what was to come. He palmed my cheek, letting his thumb skate across my cheekbone.

“The only woman I want to fuck off and on the job is you.” He pulled my face to his and kissed me with an ownership I had yet to feel from him. He was marking his territory and I was willing to put up a sold sign if needed. He wrapped his hand around my back and held me close to him. I could feel his hard cock pressing against my stomach and I wanted him bad. He grabbed me by the hips, turning to sit me on the conference desk.

“Are you ready for your promotion, Lotus Raine?” The things he was saying were questions and pleas that only I’d understand. He just made sure for tapping purposes that they blended with the whole boss/assistant/office theme.

I stood up, and stripped Brent down. I didn’t take my time as I did so. I let my hands trail down his naked torso, as I bent down to push his pants fully off. As I began to push his boxers down, I gasped before looking up at him…then back down. Right below where the band of his boxers sat, was a tattoo. It was new. I traced the smooth, pink puckered lips with the tip of my finger, before doing the same with my tongue. It was the same print I kissed onto the invitation I had Reggie give him. His disappearance at the tattoo parlor made sense in that moment. I was too in the moment when he ravaged me against the bathroom door the previous night to notice…and the same when we went to bed afterwards. The lights stayed off as we took as much in as we could of each other. He was sneaky.

He was a porn star and he was mine.

His breath caught before saying, “Your lips are the only ones I want on me.”

I stood up, pressing my lips to his. I scooted myself back up onto the table, more than ready for what was to come…ME.

Brent leaned in, grabbing my face. “I'm tired of faking it with these other women when it's real with you,” he whispered in my ear, only loud enough for me to hear. He pulled back, holding my face between his magic hands.

“Are you okay with this?” he mouthed, carefully eyeing me.

“I'm okay with you.” I wrapped my hands around his wrists, reassuring him.

“Good, because I’m going to make you scream, baby.”

“I thought you didn’t like screamers,” I moaned as his hips worked their way between my legs, pressing against where I craved him most.

“I like you.”

“Well, aren’t I lucky,” I moaned even more as he began kissing his way down my neck. He pushed the straps of my sundress over my shoulders baring more and more of me as he pushed the fabric down. With each new kiss, the further my body was exposed.

“That’s where you’re wrong.” He sat in the chair I had been in and grabbed my legs, pulling himself closer. “I’m the lucky one.”

That day Brent chose me and I chose him. We came to a happy compromise as we showed each other just how much we didn’t want to end what had started between us. I didn’t know where the road I had just jumped on would lead me, but I was confident that Brent would make it worth the ride.

As I laid back on that conference table while Brent spread my legs wide and pushed his way inside me, I didn’t feel ashamed. The way his eyes always cherished my body, and he praised me, I could never feel dirty about anything that happened between us. Brent showed me the beauty in things—even things people see as ugly. He didn’t bring the grey into my black and white world. He brought the whole damn color spectrum.

I FLIP AROUND in my chair, crossing my legs as I rub my hands back and forth against the scratchy fabric. “So, there you have it, Shepard. That’s my story. It was never planned or something I ever could have foreseen. It just happened. That’s how I became Lotus Raine, the porn star.”

I SHUT THE book that has the picture of a gorgeous woman on it in black and white. She looks sexy, yet innocent as she wraps her arms around herself, looking off to the side. They had me wear a lacey top with the hint of a cross necklace showing and my blonde hair down in waves, resembling how I had dressed for the interview. I smile at the woman I’ve become—the one this cover captures completely. It’s almost hard to believe that it’s even me. I hug it to my chest and smile brightly. Brent looks over at me from his canvas he has been spinning around painting for the past thirty minutes.

“I take it by that smile of yours that you’re pleased with how it turned out.”

I nod. “I’m more than happy. And for more reasons than one.”

“That good, huh?” He spins his canvas one last time and I gasp loudly when it comes to a stop.

I stand up and make my way to where he stands. I hold out the book I’m holding up against the still damp painting and stare in awe that he was able to recreate the gorgeous cover that quickly and without my knowledge. I smile at the yellow swatch my name is painted in and the gorgeous pink lips that are a close match to the ones Brent has tattooed on him.

“It’s amazing. You’re amazing.” I grab his shirt in my hands and pull him into me, kissing him with a wild passion that he’s to blame for. I pull his lip in between my teeth before lightly biting it, getting him riled up with want.

“Better watch it,” he breathes against my mouth. “We’re supposed to be meeting with Shepard soon. I’d hate for you to ruin his painting by forcing me to press you up against it and ravage your body.”

“Fine,” I huff. “But maybe that can be the next video we do.” He cocks a brow at me. “You know, sexy, naked artist who’s sexually frustrated in need of some desperate inspiration,” I tease.

“Oh, I’ll show you inspiration.” He cups my face as he looks lovingly into my eyes. The things this man does to me.

“You already have.” I pull my crinkled list out of my back pocket and unfold it. I see the recognition in his eyes, knowing exactly what it is. I hand it over, showing him that the last thing has finally been crossed off.

THIS IS THE hardest damn part about writing a book. There are so many people I want to thank, and no way I can get away without letting one vital person slip by. So, I’m going to avoid that.

I’ve had so many people by my side as I wrote this book. I’ve had my friends I’ve had from the beginning and I have new ones I’ve made very recently. I value each and every one of you and wouldn’t be where I am without you guys.

Nacole—You’ve been my bff from the get go, and you will always be. Thanks for always having my back when I want to sing with joy or rant with frustration. You’re support means the world and I love you always.

Sommer—I’m not sure Lotus would be what she is today without your genius mind. I came to you out of the blue with another idea and you blew me away…as always. Thank you for making her gorgeous and captivating the perfect look. I appreciate all you do!

Brooke- I’m glad we’ve became friends. You’re my late night chat buddy and I get to run all my crazy stuff by you when no one else is up…or chat about stupid crap instead of actually writing. It’s the M that binds us!! You’ve taught me a lot, and I truly value our friendship! Thank you!

For all the readers who hooked me up with questions to use in the interview—thank you! I’d name you guys, but I lost my list…so sorry!!

For all the bloggers who still take a chance on me and my books, reading them and pimping them—I bow at your feet. It’s extremely hard to get seen these days, and I can never express enough gratitude at what you each do. I know it’s not easy. I know it takes away from your life and family. I know you don’t always get to read what you want. But know that us authors truly appreciate it.
