Ryder would lose his erection if he came in her mouth. She
didn’t want that to happen. Unlike male werewolves, who could keep an erection
for hours after coming several times, Ryder didn’t have that capability. Not
that Wren had any experience with it since she’d only ever been with male
mortals.

She released him and stood. “Make love to me, Ryder. I’m
more than ready to have you inside me.”

“Your eyes are glowing.”

Of course they were. It was a testament to how turned-on she
was. Werewolves’ eyes took on a muted glow when they were very aroused or
angry. She was definitely feeling the first one.

“You did that to me,” she said.

Ryder put his arms around her and gently laid her on the
soft grass. He settled on top of her, his hips wedged between her spread
thighs. Wren moaned as his hard cock brushed against her. He thrust against
her, not going inside, wetting his length in her juices. He did it again and
again until she begged him to take her.

Wren lifted her hips as he slowly worked his cock deep
inside her pussy. He stretched her deliciously, filling her all the way once he
was seated to the hilt. She’d lost count of how many times she’d pictured them
like this, their bodies joined in the act of love.

He lifted himself onto his bent arms, then pulled back only
to thrust deep inside her once more. She squeezed her inner muscles around his
plunging cock, increasing both their pleasure. He kissed her, his tongue
mimicking what his shaft did to her. She matched his strokes, loving the feel
of him taking her over and over again.

Her release slowly built inside her. Ryder stroked faster,
harder, angling his hips so his cock rubbed against her clit as he pushed home.
The smell of their combined scents was intoxicating to her.

“Come for me, baby,” Ryder said huskily. “I want to feel
your pussy come on my cock.”

Wren lifted her legs to either side of his hips, putting him
exactly where she needed him to reach her climax. She closed her eyes to better
focus on the sensations coursing through her body with each of Ryder’s thrusts.
It took only half a dozen strokes to have her orgasm tearing through her. Ryder
pushed inside her and held still as her body fell apart.

Once it was over, Wren realized Ryder hadn’t come yet. He
then surprised her by holding her waist and rolling to his back, taking her
with him so she ended up on top, straddling him. His hard cock remained buried inside
her pussy.

“I want you to ride me,” he said. “Make me come.”

“I can do that.”

Wren lifted up on her knees, then pushed back down. With her
on top, Ryder’s cock rubbed her in different places than it had before. She was
able to take him deeper inside her pussy.

She set a steady up-and-down rhythm and placed her hands
flat on the grass on either side of his head. She leaned over him, brushing her
nipple against his lips until he opened and sucked the taut bud into his mouth.
She watched him suck at her breast, the sight causing her body to clench around
his.

Ryder put his hands on her hips and thrust up to match each
of her strokes. His cock grew harder. Her body coiled tight once more, readying
itself to orgasm again. Wren gently pulled her nipple out of his mouth and sat
up straighter, taking him in faster strokes.

“Just like that,” Ryder panted. “I love the feel of your
pussy wrapped around my cock. I’m so very close.”

She squeezed her inner muscles tighter around him as she
rode him harder. She teetered on the edge of release herself. When she came
this time, she wanted Ryder coming right along with her.

Just as her pussy rhythmically clutched and released his
cock, Ryder moaned and thrust up into her one final time, lifting her knees off
the grass. Wren cried out his name as her climax tore through her. His shaft
pulsed deep inside her pussy, giving her everything he had to give.

Once the last wave of pleasure receded, Wren collapsed onto
Ryder’s chest, panting, fighting to catch her breath. “That was incredible. I
knew it would be good like this for us.”

The sound of clapping had both of them turning their heads
to where the noise came from. At the sight of a man, who was also native,
standing five yards away watching them, Wren jumped off Ryder. From the
stranger’s scent, she knew he was a dark wolf.

He clapped again. “The two of you put on quite a show. I
must say I really enjoyed it.”

Ryder stood, clothes appearing on his body as they did on
Wren’s. “Tanner.”

That single word, the name of the dark wolf leader, had Wren
going into instant alert mode.

Chapter Six

Ryder’s first instinct upon seeing Tanner was to push Wren
behind his back to protect her, but he didn’t do it. For one thing, she was far
stronger and more able to defend herself against Tanner than he was.

Tanner closed some of the distance between them. “Aren’t you
going to ask how I got inside your dream, Ryder? Just so you know, I’m not a
figment of your imagination. It really is me here.” He glanced at Wren. “As it
would appear your girlfriend is too.”

Wren growled loudly. “Oh I’m really here. You’ll stay the
hell away from Ryder.”

The leader of the dark wolves laughed. “She’s a tough one.”
He sniffed the air. “And she’s different. By her scent, I’m picking up werewolf
and what the wolf brothers and their mates smell like. So one of the sentinels
turned a female werewolf who isn’t their mate. Interesting.”

“What do you want?” Ryder asked.

“Nothing really. This was supposed to only be a test to see
if I could actually get into your dreams in the first place. But seeing you and
your girlfriend go at it, I couldn’t resist saying hello. And asking you to
pass on a little message to the wolf brothers. You can tell them I’m coming for
them. I’m done hiding. They took a couple of members from my pack. I want them
returned to me. If they aren’t, someone is going to end up paying the price.”

“Leave, Tanner. The sentinels aren’t afraid of the likes of
you. They were created to defeat the dark wolves. You won’t stand a chance
against them.”

Tanner growled and took a threatening step toward Ryder.
Wren shifted to her hybrid dire wolf form and stood in front of Ryder,
growling.

The dark wolf leader didn’t come any closer. “She is a
hybrid. But the question is, is she any stronger for it?”

“Oh she’s strong. The wolf brothers have been training her.
She knows how to take down a dark wolf.”

“Let’s test that theory.”

Before Tanner could go on the attack, Ryder’s ancestor
appeared behind the leader of the dark wolves. He grabbed Tanner by the back of
his neck, appearing to easily hold him in place.

“You don’t belong here, evil one,” the first shaman said.
“You will leave this place and never return to my descendant’s dreams. He is
under my protection.”

Tanner let out a howl of rage just before he disappeared from
sight. Ryder’s ancestor then came to stand before Ryder and Wren, who shifted
back to human form. “He will not be able to come back,” he said. “I’ve made it
so the spell he used will no longer work.”

“Thank you,” Ryder said.

“It’s time to awaken the rest of your powers, my grandson. I
had hoped to break it up into two more stages, but the dark wolves have grown
too powerful. The wolf brothers need you at full strength.” He looked at Wren.
“I know you worried the last time, but don’t. I’m always watching over Ryder,
and have been since the day he was born. I’ll make sure no harm will come to
him during his transition.”

That was all the warning his ancestor gave him before he put
his hand on the center of Ryder’s chest. Same as the first time, it glowed, sending
waves of pain through his entire body. And he passed out as he’d done before.

* * * * *

Unlike the last time, Wren didn’t wake up to find herself in
a day-lit room. It was still night. She immediately sat up and turned in
Ryder’s direction. She shook him, but he didn’t wake up. A quick check of his
forehead showed he had a fever as well. At least she had Ryder’s ancestor’s
word that Ryder would be okay.

But that didn’t stop her from staying awake for the rest of
the night, watching Ryder. During the hours she waited for morning to come,
Wren thought over what had happened in the dream. Having Tanner arrive was more
than a little worrisome. She would have to tell Edensaw what the leader of the
dark wolves had said, but she wasn’t going to wake him up to do so. It could
wait until he was awake.

Wren curled up next to Ryder and lovingly traced his
features with her fingertip. Making love to him in his dream was something she
would always remember. The only thing that could top it was doing it in the
real world where the sensations were sure to be stronger, more pleasurable.

For better or worse, Ryder was going to be forever hers.
There was only one thing that could throw a wrench into it—his mortality. She
had no idea if he’d remain mortal after he gained his full powers or not. If he
didn’t become immortal, she didn’t know what she’d do. It wasn’t as if she
could cut her own life short if he were to die of old age. As a true immortal,
she could put a gun to her head, pull the trigger and survive it. The idea of
having to live the rest of eternity without the man she loved at her side… She
didn’t even want to go there.

“If you end up staying mortal,” she said out loud, even
though he couldn’t hear her, “you’re going to have to let one of the wolf
brothers bite you. I refuse to lose you. Do you hear me?” She then spoke to the
room at large. “And if you’re out there and can hear me, Ryder’s ancestor,
maybe you can do something about it too. You were powerful enough to create the
first werewolves. You should be able to manage this one little thing.”

Of course there was no response to her plea, not that Wren
expected to get one. The only time she’d seen the first shaman was in Ryder’s
dreams. She had no idea if he could appear here in the real world.

Wren must have drifted off to sleep shortly after dawn
because she jerked awake thinking there was an earthquake since the bed shook
so much. Knowing it had to be caused by Ryder, she looked at him, expecting to
find his eyes open and him no longer unconscious. That wasn’t the case. He lay
on the bed, not aware of anything around him, as his body took on a glow. The
bed shook harder, jostling both of them.

“Ryder, wake up,” she said loudly as she pushed at his
shoulder. She got no response. His eyes didn’t even flutter.

The entire household arrived inside Ryder’s bedroom. “It
happened again, didn’t it?” Edensaw asked.

She nodded, unable to pull her gaze off Ryder as his body
glowed brighter. “Yes.”

“This is nothing like yesterday.”

“I know.” Wren looked at Edensaw. “Tanner used some kind of
spell to get inside Ryder’s dream as well. He told us to tell you and the other
sentinels that he wants his pack members returned to him and that he’s done
hiding from you. He would have attacked us, but your first shaman arrived and sent
him away. Ryder’s ancestor then said he had to awaken the rest of Ryder’s
powers all at once, even though he hadn’t wanted to do it that way. The dark
wolves are too strong now for the delay.”

Suddenly, the glow around Ryder’s body disappeared. He arched
his back and stiffened. He let out a groan as if he were in a lot of pain. It
lasted all of ten seconds before he slumped on the bed, which finally stopped
shaking.

More scared for him than she’d ever been, Wren shook him.
“Ryder? Ryder, wake up.” His head flopped from side to side. “Ryder, wake up,”
Wren said louder, hysteria tingeing her voice.

Wachei put his arms around her from behind and stilled her
movements. “Shh, Wren. It’s okay. Listen. You can hear his heartbeat. It’s
strong. He’s all right. I have a feeling his full powers aren’t finished coming
awake. That was just part of it.”

Wren took a deep breath and did as Wachei said. Sure enough,
now that she wasn’t letting her fear for Ryder run away with her, she heard the
steady beat of his heart. She relaxed some and nodded.

Wachei kissed the top of her head. “Good girl. Everything is
going to be all right. You’ll see.”

She hoped so. It scared the shit out of her to see Ryder
like this, no matter that his ancestor told her not to worry. It wasn’t as if
she had anything to fall back on. Ryder was the only person to go through this.
At least when Capac had turned her, they’d known what to expect and had told
her up front what would happen to her.

That crisis seemingly over for now, the others left her alone
with Ryder to wait out what would happen next. Wren stayed by his side, only
leaving to take brief trips to the bathroom and hurriedly get something to eat
and drink. Cassidy had insisted on the latter.

It was approaching evening when Ryder showed signs of coming
awake. His eyes blinked open and he looked around the room until his gaze
landed on Wren. He sat up and cupped the back of her neck as he kissed her.

Once it ended, Wren wrapped her arms around Ryder and held
him tight. “Are you okay? You were out for a very long time.”

He hugged her back. “I think so.” He let her go. “Maybe I’m
not going to get hit as bad as I did yesterday.”

She gave him a small smile. “You did once while you were out
cold. You made the whole bed shake and your entire body glowed. That was hours
ago.”

His brows drew together. “What time is it?”

“It’s around seven in the evening.”

“I’ve been out that long?”

“Yes.”

“Did you worry?”

“Of course. It’s hard to see the man you love lying there,
not moving, and not sure what will happen to him.”

Ryder grew very still. “Did you just say you love me?”

Wren met his gaze. “Yes.” He opened his mouth as if to say
something, but she cut in before he got a word out. “I know it might seem a
little fast to you, but I’ve known right from the start that I’d give you my
heart. You don’t have to say it in return if you aren’t ready. I can wait.”

“What I feel for you isn’t a crush. I—”

At Ryder’s sudden silence, Wren looked at him closely. His
body had taken on a slight glow. It was going to happen again. “Ryder?”

“Oh shit.”

Not only did the bed shake, but everything on a flat surface
shook as well. As expected, everyone came running again. Ryder’s body glowed
brighter, a look of strain on his face as he gritted his teeth. Remembering how
her touch had helped him regain control of his powers, Wren reached over and
took his hand. It had no effect, but she didn’t let go.

“It isn’t working,” Ryder said. “It’s too much. I don’t
think I can control it.”

The bed shook harder. A stack of books Ryder had on a shelf
that hung on the wall crashed to the floor with a loud
thud
. The others
in the room fought to keep their balance as the tremors increased.

If Ryder didn’t stop, there was a good chance he’d bring the
house down around them. Wren took his other hand in hers, squeezing tight.
Still the house shook and the glow didn’t dissipate.

Desperate to do something to help Ryder, Wren did the first
thing that came to mind. Her touch had helped him the first time—maybe he only
needed more of it. She let go of his hands and cupped his face while she
brought her mouth to his. She kissed him with all the love she had for him. The
shaking stopped as suddenly as it had started.

Wren pulled away and smiled at Ryder. “That worked.”

The smile he’d started to give her quickly faded. The glow
around his body surged to life, as did the tremors. “More,” Ryder said. “I need
more.”

Wren didn’t hesitate. She wrapped her arms around him and
kissed Ryder for all she was worth. Ryder returned her embrace with the same
amount of heat. She vaguely heard Kajakti say, “I think that’s our cue to
leave.” The others left the room, the door shutting behind the last one to step
out into the hallway.

Wren and Ryder rose onto their knees and pressed their upper
bodies together. Wren’s taut nipples rubbed against Ryder’s bare, hard chest,
causing them to tighten more. Arousal pounded through her. If making love was
what Ryder needed to regain control of his powers, she was more than happy to
oblige. Her body ached for his.

“I have to have you,” Ryder said between kisses as he shoved
his hands up the back of her shirt and undid her bra.

“Yes,” she gasped. “Now.”

He tore her top off over her head, taking her bra with it,
then returned to plundering her mouth. She undid the tie to his pajama bottoms
before she shoved her hand down the front of them, wrapping it around his hard
cock. This lovemaking was going to be hard and fast. Not that she wanted it any
differently. Her body was already on fire, her pussy growing wetter by the
second.

“I have to get inside you. I can’t wait.”

“You don’t have to. Hurry.”

They tore at each other’s clothes. Since Wren had on more
than Ryder, she helped shed her jeans and panties. Once she was completely
naked, he pulled her tight against him and took her down to the bed on her
back. She opened her legs and lifted her hips in invitation as his cock pushed
inside her pussy. She was so turned-on he met no resistance as he seated
himself to the hilt.

She’d been right. Making love in the real world increased
the delicious sensations Ryder caused in her body. He pulled back before
pushing his shaft all the way inside her once again. He then set a quick pace,
which she matched, squeezing her inner muscles around him.

Ryder buried his face in the crook of her neck as he reached
under her to cup her bottom, angling it for him to take her deeper. Wren put
her legs around his waist, locking her ankles at the base of his spine. The
pleasure built and built inside her. His cock grew even harder. He moaned
against her skin, the sound causing her to growl.

The bed had stopped shaking, but now they were making it
bang against the wall with the force of their lovemaking. Wren didn’t give a
crap what the others thought about the sound. All that mattered was having
Ryder’s cock plunging inside her pussy, pushing her closer to climax.

His hips pistoned faster, his thrusts became more forceful.
She wrapped her arms around his back and held on, getting lost in the pleasure
that swamped her body. Her orgasm didn’t just creep up on her. It slammed into
her like a freight train.

Wren howled like the werewolf she was. Ryder thrust into her
one final time, then held her tighter against him as he came. His cock pulsed
deep inside her as he climaxed right along with her.
