“No promises, baby.” He had a wicked gleam in his eyes.

Max stepped away from me and slowly removed his tuxedo jacket, laying it neatly on top of one of the boxes to the side of us. He reached forward and billowed up the fabric of my dress until he was able to feel around and find my thong. With one swift tug he ripped them off me. I gasped as arousal pooled between my thighs.

“When I look at you giving your speech tonight, I’ll know these are safely in my pocket.” He crumpled them up and shoved them into his pants pocket. “I like knowing that pussy is bare, ready, and waiting for me to take again whenever I please.”

“Those were my favorite pair. They matched my dress,” I pretend pouted.

“I’ll make sure they’re replaced.” With that, he undid his pants and pushed them down to his ankles, along with his boxer briefs. His shaft was rigid and straining. I wanted nothing more in that moment than to have him in my mouth. I dropped to my knees and before he could reject the idea, I grabbed the base and swallowed him deep into my throat.

“Oh, fuck.” Max put his arms out to the side to brace himself.

I feverishly worked his cock with my mouth, up and down, dragging my tongue up the underside until I was swirling the tip around and around. I cupped his sac in my one hand, gently massaging as I continued my ministrations.

Max panted above me and, when I looked up, his eyes bore into mine with such intensity it was almost disconcerting.

“Enough,” he croaked out, his voice cracking. He reached for both of my upper arms and hauled me up off the floor. Without a word, he lifted me up around his waist and slammed my back against the wall.

I reached down and gathered up the material of my dress, pushing it to the side of us so that he had access to my center. Without delay he pummelled into me, until every inch of his length was inside of me. He thrust hard, holding himself there for a moment before doing it again.

I moaned as his entry and exit excited every one of the nerve endings in my core. “Oh, Max. God, Max.” I flung my head from side-to-side, unable to handle the intense feelings building inside of me.

He jackhammered into me, taking me hard and without regret. He was wild, and the best part? He was wild for me. I was the one doing this to him.

“Fuck, yeah, Chloe. You feel so fucking good, baby.”

His words brought me to the brink of an orgasm. “I love having you inside me.” I couldn’t help verbalizing what I was feeling.

Max thrust hard into me, and bit the base of my neck. I screamed out his name as I came, and Max’s hand came down to cover my mouth as he jerked inside of me with one short thrust and found his own release.

We stay there, both panting and trying to catch our breath for a minute.

“Shit. That was intense,” he said when he could finally speak.

I leaned my head back against the wall and nodded in agreement. Eventually, I unwrapped my legs from around his waist, and he gingerly set me down, making sure I had my balance before letting me go.

He reached around me and grabbed a towel, handing it to me and taking one for himself.

God, I was cleaning up the remnants of sex, in a supply closet, before hosting a charity gala. Classy.

When I was finished, I shoved the towel behind one of the boxes and Max followed suit. I felt guilty, but what was I going to do? Carry it to the bathroom to toss it and risk running into someone? Um, no.

Max tucked his shirt back into his pants, zipped up, and fastened his belt before reaching for his jacket on the nearby box. I smoothed my dress out. Lucky for me, it wasn’t too wrinkled.

“How’s my hair?” I asked.

Max looked up from buttoning his jacket. “Not a hair out of place.”

“Great,” I said, smoothing it back. Looked like the half a can of hairspray the hairdresser used had come in handy.

Max leaned in and gave me a chaste kiss. When he pulled back, I noticed my lip gloss had smeared on his face so I reached out and rubbed it off.

“I’m guessing I need to reapply my lip gloss?”

He smiled at me, those blue irises of his shining in amusement. “Not quite yet.” He leaned forward again and kissed me leisurely, like we had all the time in the world, but I wasn’t complaining.

“I’ll see you out there?” he asked.

I put on a pout that a two year old would wear when they weren’t getting their way. “See is about it. Stupid boss.”

He chuckled, squeezed my hand, and then turned to open the door a smidge to peek through the crack. A few moments later, he exited the supply room and closed the door softly behind him.

I’d have to wait a few minutes before I left, which was a shame. I had to make up for lost time. Not that I was complaining—I’d take an orgasm courtesy of Max any day.

Chloe

The gala was in full swing, and everyone had arrived when I spotted her walking through the doors to the ballroom. Tears instantly pricked the back of my eyes as Jess’ gaze met mine across the room. I excused myself from my conversation with the mayor and made my way to her as fast as I could.

She was dressed in a cute bright blue cocktail dress, her long blonde hair curled and flowing over her shoulders. When I reached her, she enveloped me in a huge hug. I had no idea what she was doing here, or how she’d gotten here from California, but I wasn’t going to question it yet. I was just grateful to have her in my arms again.

She pulled away, but I didn’t want to break the contact yet, so I held her by her upper arms. “What’re you doing here?” I asked, excitement ringing in my voice.

She leaned in closer to speak directly into my ear. “Your boyfriend flew me out.”

My boyfriend?

I gasped. “Max did this?” A lump formed in my throat. Why would he do that?

She nodded. “Yep. And you should’ve seen what he sent to get me, Chlo. It was a private plane! Like the ones you see on TV. It had a bedroom in it and everything.” She was beaming, and I wasn’t sure whether she was more excited to be home, or for her experience on the plane.

“I can’t believe he did that,” I breathed, still in shock. “How did he know where to find you?”

She shrugged. “I dunno. He’s rich. Those people can probably find out almost anything.”

True story. And really, I didn’t care. I grabbed her one more time, squeezing her tight. “I’m so happy you’re here. You look beautiful.” Pulling away, I held her hands out to her side to take her entire look in.

“So do you.” She tipped her head toward me with a smile, then glanced down at her dress. “This was waiting for me on the plane, and after I landed, I went home to do my hair real quick.”

I glanced behind us, at the party in full swing. “I’m not sure how much fun you’ll have here tonight. It’s not really a party fit for a college kid.”

She laughed. “I’m just happy to be home. I’ll make do.”

A tray covered in champagne flutes appeared between us. Jess went to reach for one, and I gave her a stern look. “Nice try, kiddo.”

“Jess. You’re home.”

It wasn’t until then that I looked over to see exactly who was holding the tray. Jess’ high school friend, Kurt, who worked next door at the hotel, was standing there, wearing a white button up shirt and black pants, smiling intently at my sister.

“Kurt! I should’ve known I’d see you here. I totally forgot about you working at the Harborside.” They hugged somewhat awkwardly, given that Kurt was holding a tray of drinks. The country club was located right beside The Harborside Hotel, and since they were all under the umbrella of the same corporation it wasn’t uncommon for employees to work at both.

“How long are you home for?” he asked.

I was about to ask the same thing. Good job, Kurt.

She wrinkled her nose. “I leave tomorrow. I have to get back for work on Monday morning.”

The smile on his face fell a little. “That sucks. I was hoping we could hang out.”

“Sorry.” She patted his shoulder. “Next time for sure. This visit is all about my big sis.”

Kurt’s face grew a tinge red, probably a little embarrassed about being turned down, and I felt momentarily bad for him. It was clear to me now that he did have a crush on Jess.

He swallowed and cleared his throat. “Okay, well I have to go get rid of the rest of these, but let’s catch up later.”

“For sure,” Jess said. Kurt walked away, his gaze reluctantly leaving my sister, and she turned her attention back to me. “So. When do I get to meet this Casanova so I can say thanks for getting me here?”

I bit my lip. “I can point him out to you, but I can’t introduce you two for obvious reasons.” I searched for Max, slowly scanning the ballroom, and finally spotted him across the way. The bottom button of his tuxedo was undone and both his hands were in his pockets as he spoke to another gentleman. It took a minute, but I caught his eye. “Thank you,” I mouthed silently, placing my hand over my heart.

He smiled back at me and nodded in my direction before turning back to continue his conversation.

“Holy shit, Chlo. He is H-O-T.”

I snapped my head back around. “Language, Jess,” I scolded.

Her jaw was hanging open. “I’m sorry. But, wow.”

I laughed. Wow indeed.

She looked over my shoulder again, and I brought my hand to her arm. “Okay, enough ogling,” I said in a hushed tone. “My boss is here somewhere, and he can’t suspect anything.”

Speaking of, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen were making their way up to me right now.

“Be cool,” I whispered out of the corner of my mouth. “Mr. and Mrs. Cullen, so good to see you.” I smiled wide and leaned in for the pseudo double cheek kiss that everyone seemed to do at these events. Mrs. Cullen smiled warmly at me, but Mr. Cullen looked a little uptight. I gestured to Jess. “You remember my younger sister, Jess.”

Jess stuck her hand out to shake both of theirs. “Nice to see you again,” she said pleasantly. “Well, I’m going to see if I can get a drink of the non-alcoholic variety, so I’ll catch up with you in a bit, Chlo.”

I nodded and watched her glide away as relief swept through me. Not that I didn’t want to spend every second I could with my sister while she was visiting, but with her gone I didn’t have to worry about her accidentally mentioning something about Max and I in front of the Cullens.

“Your sister has grown so much, Chloe,” Mrs. Cullen said with a warm smile. She was in her early sixties, with grey chin length hair that she’d curled tonight, and a little too much weight around her middle. I’d always enjoyed working with her. She may be extremely wealthy, but you would never know it from how she treated everyone around her.

“Thank you. I’m very proud of her. She’s starting college in California this fall.”

“How wonderful,” she said, genuinely pleased. “It seems you’ve gotten a good turnout again this year.”

I nodded out at the full room. “We did. Everyone’s hard work seems to have paid off.”

“I heard that bastard Richfield will be here tonight,” Mr. Cullen interjected. His jaw was clenched hard.

I had to assume he was referring to Max’s dad since he was already aware of Max’s involvement tonight. “As far as I know, that is the case, yes.”

He took a long sip from his drink. “What interest does he even have in some charity here in Bar Harbor, anyway? It’s completely obvious he’s just doing it for local PR.”

Mrs. Cullen placed a hand on his arm, rubbing up and down in a soothing gesture. “Now honey, relax. His company is building in town, and the fact that he’s coming only means more publicity and funds raised for the charity. Isn’t that right, Chloe.” She tilted her head in my direction.

Shit. Why was she dragging me into this? “Um…it would seem that way.”

Mr. Cullen crossed his arms over his chest, his mouth forming a straight line.

“See, it’s wonderful news for the charity, and that’s really why we’re all here tonight. Isn’t it, dear?” She levelled her husband with a look that challenged him to argue with her.

His jaw twitched, but he managed to bite his tongue. “I’m going to leave you two to chat while I go speak to the mayor. Excuse me.” He sulked off like a child, and Mrs. Cullen turned her attention to me.

“You’ll have to forgive my husband. This thing between him and Winston Richfield has being going on for decades.” She frowned after him, but I felt more relaxed now that Mr. Cullen was gone.
