“Anton, you know that I’m a pretty good judge of people, right?”
“Usually, yes.”
“Well, I get a real bad feeling about her.
Something about her just isn’t right.
I just don’t know what it is.”
The nagging at the back of her head refused to be silent.
“I know exactly what it is.”
Anton answered.
“It’s you being way too overprotective, again.
I thought I was the big brother?”
“You are.”
She smiled.
“I just don’t want to see you get hurt or used.”
Before he could respond, there was a large crash from the kitchen.
“What the hell was that?”
Anton jumped up and darted into the kitchen to find Dazzy standing hunched over amongst a pile of broken dishes.
“Oh my God!
Are you okay?”
“Water…broke.”
Dazzy could barely speak as she held her tightening belly from the contraction.
“Oh shit!
Are you serious?”
He asked as he led her out of the shards of glass.
She looked up at him with an annoyed stare.
“No, I’m just joking around.
Yes, I’m serious!”
“I’ll get her bag!
Where is it?”
Jamelah asked.
“It’s in our bedroom by the door.”
Anton replied as he slowly led Dazzy towards the door.
“This is it.
You ready?”
Dazzy asked Anton with a smile.
He kissed her hand.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.”
Romeo awoke to the warmth of the sun peeking through the curtains on his face.
He took a moment to adjust his eyes before he looked over beside him at the sleeping woman next to him.
Usually, this is the point where he would roll over, wake her up and try to go at it again, but he just wasn’t interested.
Instead he stood up and went into the bathroom.
He washed his face and looked at himself in the mirror for a moment.
“What the hell is wrong with me?”
He thought to himself.
His mind was stuck on the same thing (or person) that it has been for a while…Krystal.
What was it this girl had over him?
He had no idea why she was always on his mind or why he always seemed to find some reason to go past the IHOP she worked at almost every day.
“Good morning.”
Said the voluptuously shaped woman as she entered the bathroom totally naked.
“Morning.”
He said with a smile as she walked over to him and pressed her warm body against his.
“Why did you get up?
I was looking forward to a replay of last night.”
She stood on her tip toes to give him a kiss.
He slid his hands down and cupped the smooth curves of her perfectly shaped ass.
“Trust me, I would love to, but…”
She put her finger over his lips, interrupting him.
“It wasn’t a request.”
She smiled devilishly as she looked him in his eyes and kissed him softly on his lips and along his neck.
Just as he began to kiss her back, his phone vibrated on the sink.
He looked down in the corner of his eye to see that it was an Anton and he had 8 missed calls.
“Hold on, baby.”
He said as he pulled himself away to grab his phone.
“Hello?”
“Man, I have been trying to get hold of you all damn morning!”
Anton said through the phone.
“Well, I was busy.”
He said as he looked down at the busty woman kissing him down his chest and getting lower.
“What’s up?
Something wrong?”
“No.
Dazzy went into labor earlier this morning.”
The woman slowly made her way down to Romeo’s dick and began to suck on it.
“Oh shit!”
Romeo put his hand out on the sink to brace himself from falling over.
“I know.
It’s amazing, right?”
Anton answered totally unaware Romeo’s answer was not related to him.
“I just can’t believe that I’m going to be a father before the day is over.”
“Oh my God, that is unbelievable!”
Romeo bit his bottom lip as he grabbed a big handful of her hair and guided her mouth back and forth on him.
“Wow, man, I didn’t think you’d be this excited about this.
Frankly, I thought you wouldn’t care at all.”
“Uh huh.”
Romeo moaned.
“Romeo, what the hell are you doing?”
Anton asked once it started to don on him what was going on, on the other end of the line.
“Romeo!”
“Oh shit, take that shit!”
Romeo said as he held her hair and pushed himself in just far enough for her to gag slightly.
“You sick asshole!
Why didn’t you just say something or hang up the phone?”
Anton yelled into the phone.
Romeo just chuckled.
“I thought you needed to hear how it was supposed to sound.”
“You are one sick fucker.
I’m gone.”
Romeo smiled as he hung up the phone.
“Damn girl, if this is how you greet folks in the morning, I need to have you over more often!”
Chapter 5
Anton smiled ear-to-ear as he sat in the chair holding his baby girl.
She was beautiful.
He was speechless the moment the nurse placed her in his arms.
The first thing he thought of was how much his mom would have loved to have seen her.
The fact that she may not be his was way at the back of his mind, but he didn’t care; frankly, he knew from the moment she wrapped her little hand around his finger, she was his little girl.
That’s why they came up with the name Angel for her.
“Hello?
Earth to Anton?”
Dazzy said snapping her fingers.
“I’m sorry, babe.
She is just the most precious thing I have ever seen.
I can’t take my eyes off her.”
“Well, unless you have some things you are hiding from me under that shirt of yours, I need to feed her.”
She laughed.
He stood up and handed Angel over to Dazzy and the waiting lactation nurse.
“It looks like somebody is getting spoiled already!”
The nurse smiled.
“What can I say?
I mean look at her, she’s breathtaking!”
He popped his collar.
“Much like her father.”
“Yes, she is.”
The nurse laughed as she left the room.
“I’ll be right back and we can get started okay.”
“Okay.”
Anton laughed.
“What the hell was that?”
Dazzy glared at him frowning.
“What?”
“Did you really just flirt with her right in my face?”
Anton’s eyes darted from side-to-side.
“Huh?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about, Anton!”
“I’m not acting because I don’t know what you’re talking about!
I wasn’t flirting with her!”
He said with agitation at her accusations.
“Yes, you were!
All that ‘Oh, I’m so cute look at me’ crap!”
Anton scrunched his nose in disbelief of what he was hearing.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes, I’m serious!
How could you do that right in front of me?”
Her eyes began to well.
Anton was speechless.
He didn’t want her to cry, but he also didn’t know what to say or apologize for, for that matter.
“Okay, are we ready?”
The nurse said as she came back into the room.
“Is everything okay?”
She noticed Dazzy was upset.
“I’m fine, just post-partum stuff.
Just ignore me.”
Dazzy said as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m fine.”
She said with a forced smile.
Anton was silent.
Mostly because he was afraid to say anything.
“Look, I will let you two take care of this.
I need something to drink.”
He kissed Dazzy on the cheek and headed out to the lounge for a soda.
He tried to make sense of what just happened as he walked to the lounge.
He finally just attributed it to hormones or something.
“What’s up, dad!”
Said Romeo’s voice from behind him.
“Hey man.
I didn’t think you would come.”
Anton said as he gave Romeo dap.
“Why would you think that?’
Anton took a sip of his soda.
“Well, maybe the fact that you called me an idiot for even giving her the time of day?”
“You still my boy, regardless of how dumb I think you are.”
Romeo laughed as he patted Anton on the shoulder.
“Gee, thanks.”
Anton smiled.
“So, when can I see the little one?”
Anton sat down in one of the chairs.
“In a little while, she’s feeding her right now.”
“Oh, ok.
You alright?
I thought you were bursting at the seams?”
“Yeah man, I’m alright.
She just flipped out on me for a minute.
It kinda pissed me off.”
“Aww man.
Get used to it.
After they have babies it’s like something in their brains shakes loose with all that pushing.
She’ll probably be trying to snuggle up to you later apologizing.”
Anton took the last sip of his soda.
“I know.
I know.
It just agitated me.”
“What did she get upset about?”
“She said I was flirting with the lactation nurse!”
Romeo laughed.
“Were you?”
“No!”
“I’m just asking!”
Romeo laughed.
“Was she cute?”
“I suppose.
She was kinda cute.”
“Well, can I flirt with her?” Romeo smiled.
Anton just rolled his eyes in his head as he stood up and threw the soda can in the trash.
“Come on, she may be done by now.”
He signaled for Romeo to follow him.
“So what time was the bugger born?”
Romeo asked .
“Not as late as we expected, actually.
We all got here around 8 a.m. and Angel was here by noon.
Jamelah left not too long after the baby was born to get to her conference.”
“Wait, Jamelah’s here?”
Romeo said with an “oh shit!”
look on his face.
