They danced another song, their feet shuffling against cards of some kind that littered the dance floor. Finally she looked down to see what their guests had gotten all over the floor.

“Doug,” she gasped. “They’re pictures.”

They stopped and moved apart, both staring at the floor.

Dozens of photographs lay on the dance floor. When she peered closer, she realized she recognized the couple in the photo closest to her toe. She bent to retrieve it at the same time Doug picked one up and said, “It’s Lisa and Lance.

Morgan looked the photo of Doug’s sister and her husband, dancing and grinning at the camera.

She gathered more photos and, flipping through, realized that she knew everyone in the pictures. And they were all dancing and smiling.

The date in the corner of the pictures said that they’d been taken that night.

Looking around the room and taking in more details now, she made her way to one of the tables. Lying on the table in front of each chair was a photo of the person who would have been seated there. Some photos were of their guests smiling into the camera, others they were eating cake or toasting with champagne glasses.

Her eyes filled. They’d recreated the reception for them with photos.

“Someone thought of this, got everyone in on it and then took the cameras in to a one hour developer.” She was amazed even as she said it. “This took some planning.”

“They all look really happy,” Doug said, coming up and sliding his arms around her waist.

She nodded. “They do.”

“What’s this?” Doug turned one of the photos over. “Morg, look.”

He handed it to her and she saw that they’d written on the back as well. “We love you”, “Here’s to many long years”, “Congratulations” and many other messages covered the backs of the photos.

Morgan felt her eyes sting with tears. “Wow.”

“Mr. Miller?” A waitress had approached behind them.

Doug turned. “Yes?”

“We have cake and champagne for you over here.” She gave them a big smile as she gestured toward the head table.

There were more photos there, people doing the hokey pokey, Morgan’s parents kissing, Doug’s niece, Molly, dancing with Drew, Kevin’s little brother.

There were also two pieces of cake and two champagne flutes.

Morgan smiled at Doug. “Amazing.”

“Definitely.”

“Well, there are some traditions we should uphold. Here.” She broke off a piece of cake and held it up for him to eat.

Heat flared in his eyes and he wrapped his long fingers around her wrist and tugged her closer. “I love when you put things in my mouth, Sugar.” He opened his mouth, his gaze intent on hers, his lips closing around her fingers and dragging slowly along the length, catching the cake and frosting. He swallowed, still holding her wrist, and then licked his tongue along each of her fingers, not letting any frosting escape.

She wondered if there would ever be a time when the touch of his mouth didn’t sent a riot of hot butterflies dancing through her stomach.

“Your turn,” he said huskily.

He offered a small piece of cake to her and she made sure to give him the same treatment, adding a little suction at the end of his middle finger.

“You missed some,” he said softly, leaning in and dragging the tip of his tongue along her bottom lip.

“Yum,” she whispered.

Then he really kissed her. One hand slid into her hair at the back of her head, while the other settled on her hip, bringing her up against him.

She arched close, holding his head in both hands, opening her lips under his with a moan.

His tongue stroked deep, his fingers curling into her hip, his erection hard against her belly.

When he finally pulled in a long breath, resting his forehead against hers, he said, “I had the bakery give me a container of just the cake frosting.”

She smiled. “Why?”

He lifted his head. “You really have no idea?”

Her eyes widened. “Did
they
ask why?”

“Nope.” He gave her a sexy grin. “But I would have told them.”

Which reminded her… “There’s another tradition we didn’t get to tonight.”

“Yeah?” He reached for a photo. “Josie caught your bouquet.” Sure enough, another of his nieces was grinning triumphantly into the camera, holding the flowers high.

“Not that one,” Morgan told him. “I had to be here for this one to work.”

“Now I’m really curious.”

Morgan nudged him back and pulled a chair out from the table. “You have to take my garter off.” She took a seat and crossed her right leg over her left leg.

“You have it on now?” he asked, immediately dropping to one knee in front of her.

“I was going to eventually pull you into a supply closet at the hospital if I had to,” she admitted.

“Oh, I really like this tradition.” Doug put his hand against her bare ankle and slowly ran it up and down her calf.

She shivered, but certainly not from being cold.

He didn’t move higher than her knee for several strokes and she was wiggling by the time he slid up to her thigh, inching the hem of her skirt up her leg. He watched his hand move against her skin as if he’d never seen it before.

“Doug,” she said softly.

He lifted his eyes to hers. “You’re my wife,” he said simply.

She nodded. “I know.”

“I get to see this skin, touch it, kiss it…” He leaned in a put his lips against the top of her thigh. He took a deep breath. “I get to do this every day for the rest of my life.”

Morgan threaded her fingers through his hair. “I know.”

“Thank you.”

She frowned and smiled at the same time. “For what?”

“For saying yes to all of this. For taking me with you to Chicago for that business trip. For finding me after the fundraiser. Hell, for even coming to the fundraiser.” He stroked his hand higher. “I sometimes think about the fact that I wasn’t even supposed to be there that night. I got those tickets from Ben. What if one of us hadn’t been there?”

She leaned closer to him and said sincerely, “Then we would have met somewhere else. Because I know that we were supposed to meet. I feel it in my bones every single time I look at you.”

He swallowed and gave a little shake of his head. “See, I’m trying to be romantic and sweet and then you say stuff like that and all I want to do is hike this skirt up right here and now.”

She laughed. “What I said was romantic.”

“Yeah, I guess you saying anything at this point is gonna make me want to hike this skirt up.” His hand slid higher, taking the hem with it.

His fingers found the garter, but he brushed past it to the edge of her panties.

“So, I could even say ‘shoe’ and it would make you want to hike my skirt up?”

“Shoe makes me think of heels which makes me think of how sexy your legs look in heels, which makes me want to prop your feet up on my shoulders and do you deep and hard.”

She sucked in a quick breath. “Wow.”

“Any other questions?” he asked with a sexy grin.

“What about ‘car’?”

“Makes me want to do you in the backseat of the car,” he said unapologetically.

“Pencil?”

He thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. “Yep, still want to do you.”

She laughed, but then his hand slid along the edge of her panties, the tip of her index finger slipping under the elastic. “That’s not the garter.”

“No kidding.”

She uncrossed her legs and he slid closer to her center, her skirt hiking even higher.

“We’re not totally alone, you know,” she said, her breath catching as his finger brushed over her mound.

“Do you really care?”

They’d had sex in the elevator at a charity fundraiser the first time.

“Well, I guess…” She gasped as his finger slipped between her hot folds and slid over her clit. She gripped the edge of the chair and opened her knees even further.

“That’s what I thought.” He whisked the garter off her leg and stretched to his feet.

She stared up at him. “Seriously?”

“I was going to keep this going for awhile and I love teasing you, Sugar, but I need you. Now.”

One of the things she loved about Doug and their sex life was how
real
it was. He told her exactly what he was thinking and feeling. The sweet romantic words were few and far between. They were wonderfully sincere when they were spoken, but she didn’t need them to know she was loved and cherished and wanted.

“Want to go to the B & B?” There were certainly advantages to owning a bed and breakfast. She got to her feet, glad she’d changed shoes too. Her knees were a little wobbly for three-inch heels.

“I can’t wait that long,” he said, grabbing her hand. “I’m gonna need you to lose your panties somewhere between here and the limo.”

She giggled. They’d had some fun in a limo before. She tried to pull to a stop, fully intending to take the panties off for him right in the middle of the nearly deserted ballroom.

“No stopping, keep it moving, let’s go,” he said, nearly pulling her off her feet.

“Hey. I can’t lose the underwear while I’m moving.”

“You’ll have to think of something.”

She rolled her eyes and kept walking.

They approached the limo and the driver’s door swung open as Thomas, the drive, got out.

“Hey, Thomas, you’re not a smoker are you?” Doug asked.

“Nope, Mr. Miller.” Thomas held the back door open.

“I don’t suppose you’d be willing to pretend you’re a smoker for a half hour or so? Go for a walk? Hang out?”

Thomas frowned. “Everything okay?”

“Everything is wonderful.”

He looked from one of them to the other, then nodded. “You got it.”

He ambled off, hands in his pockets, and Doug wrenched the back door open and nudged Morgan inside. He was right behind her and locked the doors as soon as it slammed shut.

He turned to her and immediately reached behind her, pulling her zipper down and slipping the straps of her bra off her shoulders in one slick move.

“I mentioned the nipples and champagne right?” he asked, his eyes on her breasts as he pulled his T-shirt over his head and tossed it on the floor.

“You did.” Her nipples beaded at even the thought of him licking champagne off of her.

“Great. Maybe later.”

She grinned and reached under her skirt, skimming her panties off. “I’m good with that.”

“Come here, Sugar.”

She climbed onto his lap, settling over his erection and eliciting a heartfelt groan.

“Unzip me, babe.” Then he lowered his head and took a nipple into his mouth.

For a second she let herself bask in the feelings zinging between her breast and her core that grew warmer and wetter and achy with need. Finally her brain reengaged and she reached between them, first palming his hard shaft, enjoying the rumble of his groan against her breast, then working on the button and zipper.

As the metal teeth parted she pulled aside denim and cotton, careful not to shift too far and risk losing the delicious suction on her nipple. Then she stroked him skin on skin and lost that suction as his head came up and he sucked in air.

“Damn, they were right.”

“They?” she asked, still sliding up and down his hot length.

“The guys said this feels even better when your
wife
does it.”

She smiled and circled his shaft with her hand, pumping up and down, even as she said, “Nice sentiment, but I know those guys don’t talk about their wives like that.”

Doug’s jaw was tight, but he didn’t try to move her hand. “Well, they imply things.”

With her other hand, Morgan lifted her skirt and moved forward, positioning him where she needed him. “So do the girls,” she whispered as she lowered herself onto him, taking him deep.

They groaned together as his thickness filled her and her heat welcomed him.

Doug’s fingers gripped her hips as they paused, feeling their connection through and through. But then it was time to
move
.

Morgan lifted, feeling the decadent slide of his cock against her inner walls, sensation rippling out in all directions. She closed her eyes and let her head fall back.

Doug cupped one breast, his thumb flicking over her nipple. “Fuck, Morgan. You feel so good.”

“The quickie at the hospital wasn’t enough,” she panted.

They hadn’t had sex. She knew everyone thought they had, but really it had only been her generous husband giving her a quick orgasm in exam room six. He swore he couldn’t keep his hands off of her another minute, but she knew that he truly loved giving her pleasure whenever and however he could. That much intimacy at that moment had been enough, but now, with him stretching and filling her, she knew her body had been humming for him ever since.

“It’s never enough with you,” he told her. “I want you even when you’re doing stuff like filing your nails.”
