Abel, almost choked to death with all the noise about Jean, couldn’t resist taking a look at this beauty queen so he jumped into Steve Bateman’s mind that day. He visited Steve in his sleep that night, and found out that Steve was quite right. Jean was truly lovely; she had a very beautiful smile and she was blessed with a gorgeously curved figure.

Abel remembered the first time he took Jean on one of his sexual fantasies; he had gotten into her dreams and told her they were going to a fancy dress party. Steve was dressed as Batman and Jean went as Wonder Woman. In Jean’s dream, Abel was dressed as Robin, and he had told Jean that he was Steve’s friend Joe. All the men in the party were dressed up as Batman and all the women were dressed as Robin. Curiously, Abel (or Joe) was the only man Jean could recognize, for all the other men had the same identical Batman masks on.

In that particular dream, Joe had orchestrated a situation where he lured Jean to an empty room in a case of mistaken identity and she began to make out with one of the guests dressed as Batman. Jean let him undress her while she hurriedly undressed him. Joe had her naked before she could pull down his tight pants. When she eventually managed to get them off, she fell back on the bed in shock at the size of his manhood.

“You are not my Steve,” Jean said to the stranger, as she stared at his erection. The stranger answered, “We are all your Steve tonight.” and he fell on top of her. Joe winked at her and told her that Batman would be along soon but until then, she should enjoy the moment. Jean did, and Abel had her under his spell: another willing and happy client.

Abel was still in her dreams when the alarm clock went off for Steve to go to work the next morning, waking her from her beautiful dream. Jean tried to tell Steve about her weird, sexy dream and about him being dressed up as Batman, and her being dressed as Wonder Woman. She also mentioned that his friend from work, Joe was dressed as Robin. Steve told her he didn’t know anyone at work named Joe, and it must have been just a silly dream. Steve tried to explain to her why he thought she had dreamt about Batman and Robin: he had previously told her that the boys he worked with in the prison called him Batman instead of Bateman and whoever was working with him was called Robin.

Jean tried hard to convince him that the dream was real, and that Joe in her dreams must be working with him. Steve told her to go back to sleep, and Joe whispered in her subconscious mind for Jean to come back to sleep for there were a lot of Batmen running around looking for Wonder Woman. Jean liked that thought, and Joe had her under his spell once again, and back in the same dream, as if she had never left the party.

Jean answered the next knock on the door and there were two men in Batman costumes standing there. “Which one of you is my husband?” Jean asked. They took her to the bed and asked her to watch them and pay attention. She watched them both undress, leaving just their masks on, and again they were too big in the love department to be her Steve. She looked over to Joe, who was with his girlfriend on another bed. The only thing they both had on were their masks and so they could pass for a pair of naked bank robbers.

“Joe what should I do, I don’t know which one is my Steve.”Abel was in Jean’s mind and he could feel her excitement for she badly wanted to be bedded by these two imposters with big pricks.

Abel knew then that Jean was a willing dream lover and he’d have to come back to her again. “It’s just a dream,” he whispered to her. “Take them both. Steve will never find out if you keep it a secret. It will be a fantasy that only I and you will remember.”

Jean blushed in her dream. “But Joe, they got such huge erections…”

“It wouldn’t be much of a sexual adventure if all the men had small cocks now would it? And if you want to go on another adventure anywhere I’ll take you. I’ll be your secret lover and we’ll go on many adventures together”.

Those thoughts planted by Abel in Jean’s subconscious mind worked perfectly. They worked partly because he was good at convincing people and partly because Jean had a dormant, fiery sexuality that was waiting to be unlocked. Joe and Jean had been on a few adventures since then and Jean hadn’t told her boyfriend Steve about any of her new silly dreams. Not like he would believe her, anyway.

So Abel visited Jean on most nights and didn’t erase her memory of the dreams, knowing she loved them and wanted more.

As a child, Jean Thornton was quite the shy girl and liked to keep to herself. She remained on the short and plump side until she was about 11, and then she shot up beautifully, filling out in all the right places. She didn’t have much of an education and at the age of 17, she had gotten her first job stacking shelves at the local drugstore.

Pam was her only true friend and she had known her since they were kids. Pam was also one of the very few people she trusted and listened to, so when Pam suggested Jean enter a beauty contest, Jean considered it thoroughly.

She told Pam that it was a great idea but that she was too shy to walk across the stage and have so many people staring at her. Pam replied that Jean loved to go to the beach and while there, scores of men watched her strut around in her tight bikini, whistling and hailing. Pam reasoned that since Jean hadn’t died from the attention she received and the fright she felt, she might as well go ahead and enter the contest.

Before she had time to contest that line of reasoning, Pam informed her that she had entered her name and pictures in the contest already and she might as well not waste the opportunity.

Jean, terrified of the whole thing, managed to go through with it and she ended up winning. It was the scariest moment of her life: being in the last three and waiting for them to announce the winner. Jean was so pleased she had won and mighty grateful to Pam but she vowed to herself never to try something so crazy again.

By the time Jean was 19,
she had gotten her second job. The owner of a roadside café offered her a job as a waitress, saying that her looks would help his trade and that there was always a chance a film director may come in, see her and make a big film star out of her like Marilyn Monroe. It didn’t seem like so much of a bad idea at the time and Jean took the job, reasoning that if she ever developed cold feet when eventually offered a movie role, she could just turn it down.

Plenty of men came to the cafe
and offered to take her away, but no film director ever did and she began to doubt if it would ever happen.
Not like I can ever get over my stage fright, so what the hell?
she said to herself.

Then one day, a tall, skinny 21 year old came in looking for work. His name was Steve Bateman and he wowed Jean with his smart mouth. He confidently told Jean that he was going to be a prison officer; he had already filled in all the forms and he was waiting to hear from the prison service. Until their reply came in though, he was actively searching for work like the hardworking American male he was.

Jean fell for him in the midst of all their conversations and they started dating. One year later, Steve had started working for the prison service and he and Jean had gotten an apartment together. There was even talk of getting married now that Steve had a full-time job.

Jean adored Steve but she found her nightly thoughts were constantly revolving round Joe. She usually fell asleep with high levels of anticipation, asking herself,
Will I dream of Joe tonight? Where will Joe take me tonight?

She hadn’t told Steve about her latest dreams. She had tried telling him about her first dream about Joe and since he had dismissed them as just silly dreams, she had decided to keep her silly, sexy dreams to herself.

Jean believed they were only dreams but they were so real to her that when she woke up, it would take her a few seconds to realize she was back in her bed and not in some far-off land. The characters in her dreams were so real and loveable that when she did wake up, she couldn’t wait for the next night. She didn’t know how but she knew she could get back into the same dream where she left it the night before. She had pondered the possibility for weeks then finally accepted it as a gift.

Jean would usually read until Steve was asleep then she would settle down and leave her mind open, wondering where she would appear next, as she whispered. “Joe, are you there?” before drifting off to sleep. Abel didn’t erase the memories of Jean’s dreams like he normally did for other people. He didn’t exactly know why but he figured it had to something to do with her innocence and willingness to get dirty with him.

On the night of the day Kahn was gunned down mercilessly, Abel Lazarus visited Jean Thornton in her dreams. He was convinced it was something he had to do.

Jean heard a crow squawk and looked up to see it fly past and then stop to rest on a branch of the nearest tree.

She knew she was in a dream and she looked around in search of Joe. “Joe is late,” she whispered to herself. “He should be here by now.”

Jean looked around again and jumped, for now, Steve was sitting with her on a rock. “We’re too early. Don’t worry, he’ll be here shortly,” Steve said in a reassuring tone.

Jean thought hard but she couldn’t remember why they were waiting for Joe. She looked closely at Steve and saw he was dressed in baggy breeches, a torn shirt and shabby boots.

“We’ll miss him when he joins up,” Steve said in an accent that Jean recognized as an old English accent.

Suddenly, Jean remembered they were going to town for Joe to join King Henry the VIII’s army.

“Aye that we will, he was a right old laugh,” Jean said in reply to Steve, wiping her nose with the back of her hand.

Poking her feet in the dirt, she added, “He might back out before we get there.”

“Maybe,” Steve said, simply.

Jean looked around at the green rolling hills surrounding them with an odd oak tree a short distance away. They were in a valley with a dirt road running beside the small river that went through the valley. She heard a familiar whistle and she and Steve jerked their heads up at once.

“That be him alright,” they both said in unison as they got off the rock and looked up the valley.

“Look at him! He’s as happy as a pig in shit,” Steve said jovially. “You wouldn’t think he’s off to war.”

“I heard that!” shouted Joe, “There be no war when those Yorkies see our army.”

“Our army?!” Jean yelled incredulously. “And there’s me thinking it was King Henry’s army.”

The banter felt familiar to Jean, enjoyable even.

“You’ve had your hair cut,” Steve said, laughing and pointing his finger at Joe’s short hair.

“Aye, Ma says I can’t go looking like a girl.”

Jean played along. She was half-aware that this was only a dream and nothing more but it felt too real to do anything but live in the moment and become part of the adventure.

“He’s even got his Sunday best on,” Jean remarked to Steve.

It was the first time she had seen Joe as a young man in her dreams and it was thoroughly exciting. Her subconscious told her she was an English farm girl and Jean gladly fell into character. In this dream, Joe wasn’t as tall as Steve but Jean knew the boys were the same age: nineteen, while she was eighteen and aching for an adventure.

“And I will have my Sunday best on for you two tomorrow,” Joe said with a wink.

“We’ll all have our Sunday best on tomorrow, won’t we, Jean?” Steve put his arm around her. “You will be Mrs. Jean Bateman, this time tomorrow.”

“Oh, aye. Mrs. Bateman; that’s who I’ll be from tomorrow on.”

“And I’ll be your best man,” Joe said with a big grin, “and next week I will be Commander Joe Wiggins, off to war to sort those rebels out up in Yorkshire.”

The intended couple laughed heartily and Jean said, “Don’t be silly, Joe. Nobody’s ever made Commander on their first day.

“They may not even sign you up, Joe. Don’t you think you might be a wee bit too short?” Steve asked, teasingly.

“Let’s go find out, friends,” Joe said with utmost confidence. “I believe I’m as tall as the next man.”

“Oh, let’s do that,” Steve said, smiling and putting his arm around his friend and his would-be bride. “Come on Jean girl, we are going to town to make a soldier out of our friend Joe.”

Calcot town was three miles down the valley, but in Jean’s dream it only took two short breaths and they were there amongst the crowd. They could hear drums and the tin whistles of the soldiers as they marched up to the market square. There was a sergeant in front with six soldiers behind him. Two of them were beating the drums furiously and the other four were trying to play some kind of tune on the whistles. They stopped abruptly and the sergeant began to read out the writings on the scroll.

He read to them that the rebellious citizens of York had taken over the city of York and its castle; that King Henry wanted it back and he was going to take it by force. King Henry also expected that the young men of England would march with him to take back the castle and hang the heads of those rebels on spikes outside the gates of the castle. The sergeant declared at some point that every young man should be extremely proud to be asked to join the King’s army.

Jean didn’t make much out of the sergeant’s reading for he spoke in a very thick accent. She didn’t mind though, for she was too busy looking around as she had never seen so many people in the town.

The sergeant finished his speech by saying, “All those who think they man enough to be soldiers in the King’s Army, come forward and sign up. Follow me to the Fox and Hounds Inn where I will take your names.”

The band started playing again and Jean could feel the excitement running through the crowd as they all cheered. The three of them marched behind the soldiers, with the younger kids running ahead and the older kids trying to march like the soldiers.

The next thing Jean knew, they were going home, walking back up the valley. “Well you’ve gone and done it now,” Steve said, patting Joe on the head. “You daft bat,” – he shook his head – “you’re a Kingsman now.”
