The instant the head of his lubed cock penetrated
her tight sphincter, Eve gasped. She bit her lower lip and buried her face
deeper into the pillow. The pressure was like nothing she’d ever
felt—blissfully agonizing and painfully divine.

Buried to the hilt now, Donavan’s lean hips
rested flush against her cheeks while his solid length throbbed inside her ass.
He didn’t move for a long time. He didn’t have to. Just feeling his thick cock
inside her ass drove Eve wild. In combination with the bullet vibrating inside
her pussy, the man could breathe on her and she might very well burst into
orgasm.

But it wasn’t only the sensations that turned her
on, Eve realized now. It was the lack of control and the vulnerability such a
position brought on. Being at the mercy of a man nearly twice her size excited
her. It demanded a certain amount of trust—trust she had never given before. Strangely
enough, she couldn’t imagine giving herself this way to anyone other than
Donavan.

He leaned over her and the well-muscled wall of
his abs settled over her back as he hugged her against him. Then he began to
rock forward, but he didn’t draw back his hips and thrust. He rocked her body
in time with his, barely letting his cock slide out an inch before arching
forward and filling her again. His thighs trembled against hers and his short
bursts of breath tingled between her shoulder blades. There he was again,
trying not to hurt her. Enough was enough. She wasn’t some fragile doll in need
of coddling.

“Fuck me, Donavan.” Eve curled her fingers back
and scraped her nails hard over the wall of his abs.

“Christ, woman.” His harsh whisper became
gasoline on a bonfire, fueling the inferno taking her body. He gripped a
handful of her hair and jerked her head back. “Is that what you want? You want me
to fuck the hell out of this tight little ass?”

“Yes! Yes,” she screamed.

Not a second more and he drew back and slammed
his cock into her ass so hard the impact made her teeth rattle. Her knees
wobbled as a tremor rolled through her and she barely had time to catch her
breath before he pulled back and sank into her again.

“Is this what you want?” he demanded, fucking her
harder.

A cry of passion bubbled in her throat and she
couldn’t get out a full word to answer. Her body had suddenly gone from hot to cold
and then back to hot. Just when she thought the sensation couldn’t get any more
intense, he reached between her legs. Two strong fingers pushed between her
pussy lips and strummed up and down her slippery cleft. The moment he flicked
the tips of his fingers over her clit, she was lost. Flecks of white light
exploded in front of her eyes while every muscle in her body snapped taut,
including her anus.

“Oh God!” She dropped her face down against the
pillow and continued to heave shattered breaths. As her sphincter erratically
pulsated and throbbed around his cock, Donavan sank his fingers deeper into the
soft swell of her hips and he slammed into her one last time. His ragged curse
was like music to her ears—deep, rumbling, primal. Even though his shaft was
incased in a thin lining of latex, she knew the exact moment the searing gush
of semen burst free from his cock. His thighs vibrated against hers as his hips
bucked forward in short, uneven thrusts. Eve closed her eyes. Silently, she
savored the violent palpitations of both their bodies in the peak of ecstasy.

Except for the sound of ragged breathing, all was
quiet. Not even the soft hum of the vibrator existed any longer. Sometime
between her orgasm and his, Donavan had clicked it off and removed it. She hadn’t
even noticed.

Was it like this every time, she wondered as the
haze inside her head began clearing. Would submitting to a man always leave her
trembling in orgasm and glowing like a hundred watt bulb? No, Eve thought,
answering her own question. It was submitting to Donavan that made her feel
this way. After tonight, when she obtained the key and walked out the door, she
would never feel this way again. Her chest constricted and she stirred beneath
the weight of his body stretched atop hers, suddenly needing to put some
distance between them.

“Don’t. Move.” he growled.

“I think I should go clean myself up a little,”
she said deciding the excuse was as good as any.

“I think you think too much.”

Eve felt his smile spread against her shoulder
and couldn’t help but soften to it. Maybe he was right. Maybe she did think too
much. Had there ever been a time in her life when she lived for the moment
without worrying about consequences or the aftermath of her actions?

Donavan eased them into a spooning position and
draped one of his muscular thighs over her legs, locking her in place.
Apparently the decision was made. She wasn’t going anywhere. Placated, Eve nestled
back against his sweat, slick chest and closed her eyes tighter.

For now, she wouldn’t think about the repercussions
of her actions or how she would have to somehow manage a professional working
relationship with a man who had fucked her in the most dominating position she
knew existed. No, she would enjoy the strong beat of his heart pounding between
her shoulder blades in time with her own rapid pulse. She would enjoy the way
his arms fit so perfectly around her. It might not have been a good idea to
share such an intimate gesture with a man she planned on deserting in less than
twenty-four hours. Regardless, Eve let him hold her.

Chapter
Five

Donavan stood alone in the hallway outside the
door of studio seven, toying with the room’s lone key between his fingers. He
would only be gone a few minutes. Fifteen at most. However, if Eve decided to
end their agreement prematurely even after the pleasure they’d shared, fifteen
minutes was plenty of time to make a quick getaway.

No. He couldn’t risk it. He was nowhere near
finished with her.

On the wall behind him, a pewter wall sconce
omitted the light necessary to locate the keyhole beneath the doorknob. With
precision, Donavan slid the key inside and turned. When the deadbolt slammed
into place, he paused with his hand still on the key and fell into limbo with
his thoughts.

Why not hire an armed guard to
watch the door? Or better yet, go back inside and chain her to the armoire!
Now, that doesn’t sound insane at all, does it?

Donavan swore softly and leaned his forehead to
the door.

Oh yeah, it sounded insane all right. It didn’t
sound anything like his style at all. Normally after a few rounds of gratifying
sex with a woman, it was him searching for an escape route. Not the other way
around.

Sighing, he roughly dragged a hand through his
hair. Something was happening to him. Eve was happening to him. He couldn’t
deny they were good together. Her submissive nature sang to his dominant
disposition like no woman before her. She frustrated him, challenged him, and
kept him on his toes. She was passionate and cunning yet possessed a strong
sense of vulnerability. And, she had secrets. That just made her more
interesting to him. Eve Morgan was like a complex puzzle he was dying to solve.
One he was determined to solve. Finding mutual pleasure in the process, well, that
was a bonus.

Donavan started down the hall toward Eden’s sex
toy and lingerie boutique. He put one shoulder into a set of double doors and
entered inside the toyshop. The fragrance of rosehips and lavender drifted
through the elegantly styled store from a few small sticks of incense burning
in a jar on top of the glass service counter. Behind it, a woman sat perched on
a tall leather stool. At least he assumed it was a woman from the freshly
manicured nails tapping against the tabloid magazine she held in front of her
face. She didn’t greet him or offer her assistance, but he didn’t need her to.
He knew exactly what he was looking for and headed straight for it.

If Eve was to accept her true nature and call him
Master by the end of the gala, there was no room for error. He needed to
discover her trigger, the root of all that fueled the submissive in her.
Although he had an inkling of what that might be, if he was wrong it could
drive her back inside her defensive shell. Maybe forever, he thought making his
way around the store, collecting the items he needed and stacking them in his
arms.

Apparently engrossed in the lifestyle of the rich
and famous, the woman behind the counter didn’t hear his approach. Irritated
and on a time limit, Donavan set his items on the counter and loudly cleared
his throat. The woman jumped and the magazine flew out of her hands, landing
smack dab on top of his merchandise with a thud.

The instant Donavan saw her face, he narrowed his
eyes.

“I should’ve known it was you when I saw that
slime magazine. You’re the only woman I know who’s still enthralled with the
plights of Brangelina and their collection of children.” He braced his palms on
the glass counter and pinned his best friend’s wife with a pointed stare.
Seemingly flustered, Caitlyn fumbled to pick up her magazine and sat up
straighter on her stool.

“Uh…Donavan, what a nice surprise,” she said, and
then cleared her throat. “I didn’t think Evan or I would be seeing you this
weekend.”

As Eve’s best friend, Donavan knew Caitlyn would
be aware of his and Eve’s childish bet. She would also know Eve cheated to win
and didn’t tell him.

“You mean, you didn’t think you’d be seeing me
without a collar around my throat?” He arched an eyebrow and Caitlyn’s cheeks
flushed as she began fidgeting with her pale blonde hair.

“I—I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“You’re about as poor a liar as Eve. I already
know the truth. Eve confessed everything. Not without a little persuasion of
course, but she eventually broke.” He shook his head, annoyed she didn’t warn
him about the bet being fixed even when it would land him on his knees. “Christ,
I gave the toast at your wedding, Cait.”

“I know. I know. Look, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t
have lied but I was only doing it to protect Eve.”

Protect Eve? From a stupid bet?

“Protect her from…me?”

“Yes, of course from you.”

Donavan was silent a moment. He didn’t think of
himself as the type of man a woman needed protecting from, let alone a woman he
cared for and respected as much as Eve.

“Well, not only from you.” Caitlyn winced. “When
we made up the little lie, Eve didn’t want to risk her professional reputation
on any Dom especially ones notorious for loving em’ and leaving em’. It just
made sense to let everyone believe she was a Mistress.”

Finally. The truth.

“Oh Caitlyn,” Donavan smiled, “I could kiss you
right now but because your husband is freakishly large and has a horrible
temper, I’ll restrain myself.”

“What? Wait—Oh my God, you didn’t know.” Caitlyn
gasped. “You were talking about Eve confessing about the bet—shit, she is going
to kill me.”

“Calm down.” He set his hand on the two of hers
twisting and wrenching her magazine into a tattered mess. “It’s not as if I
didn’t already know Eve wasn’t a real Mistress. I just didn’t know
why
she
was lying about it.”

“Please. Please don’t tell her I told you,” she
pleaded.

“Relax,” he soothed. “I won’t tell her but I
still don’t understand why you would think she needs protection from me. You’re
a perceptive woman, you must know I care about her.”

“Of course I know. I’m not blind.”

“Well then?”

“Whether you care about her or not, you have no
idea what she’s been through in her life or the things that have made her who
she is. Yes, she puts up a strong front but deep down whether she looks it or
not, Eve is vulnerable.” Caitlyn sighed and shook her head. “I shouldn’t be
telling you this but by the rumpled condition of your clothing, I see things
between you and Eve have already escalated past the point of no return.”

Donavan glanced down at the wrinkled shirt only
half tucked into his slacks. Point taken.

Caitlyn leaned across the counter and gestured a
hand for him to come closer.

“Do you know that Eve’s mother, Madylin, is an
alcoholic?”

“She mentioned it. Yes.”

“Well when Eve was growing up, Madylin rarely
held a job for more than a few weeks at a time, which led to a series of
eviction notices, unpaid bills, and moving around a lot. Eve took on
responsibilities that no child should have to take on. In order to survive she
was forced to step into the shoes her mother left empty and learn how to cope.
But that’s not the worst part, there were times Madylin was so hard up for
money to pay for her habit she would bring men home…clients rather.”

A knot formed in Donavan’s gut and his knuckles
went stark white. He did not like where this was heading.

“Eve would lock herself in her room at night but
she told me, she could still hear what was going on. Thankfully instead of
falling into the pattern her mother set out before her, Eve was determined to
make a better life for herself, no matter what it took. So if Eve’s a bit of a
control freak it’s because she feels she has to be in order to stay safe.”
