Trent was fucking me out of my mind and though I didn’t like the cause, the act itself drove me insane. It made me feel I had a case, catching him sweet-talking a bronzed beauty, carrying on with her with a familiarity that I wanted reserved for just me. I also understood he was communicating a deeper familiarity and intimacy that he swore he’d only shared with me by nailing me in the back of a condo where a
Kings
celebration was happening. But that glaring fact only turned me on more. His argument, in what I was sure was going to be a knockout battle, was just as impending as my incoming orgasm. His dick plowed into my quivering core, his balls smacked against my sex, the impact rippling against my swollen clit. After swallowing hard, I squeezed my eyes to prepare for the inevitable.

“Uhhhhhhh!” I cried, my spine arching, head rearing back as I howled my pleasure at being tossed into a stratosphere of bliss again.

Trent grabbed my ponytail, yanking my head back even farther. His arm snaked around my belly and pulled me up without breaking the rhythm of his thrust.

“I wanna hear it all!” he growled in my ear, vocals filled with sinister.

I moaned helplessly as his one hand pulled at my nipple, thrumming it while my body vibrated in his arms.

“Trent…
tin
!” poured from my sloughing lungs, helplessly.

“You damn right…” he taunted, hips pounding at an accelerated rate.

He bucked into me feverishly. His reckless and imposing virility crowned me. This was when I was his equal, when there were no measures for safety considering our height differential. When he went deeper, I felt taller. Here was when Trent put it all on me and I took it with unrelenting enthusiasm. The length of him thickened and I knew he was prepared to climax. I squeezed around him, moaned my passion for his lack of control. He shot into me and I gripped his arm as I pushed back, taking him deeper.

When he let me go, we both fell on the mattress, breathless and sweating. I swallowed on a dry mouth, my body still trembling. My shoulders and thighs throbbing from his fierce grip.

“You gotta stop that shit, Jade!” he panted with bite in his tone.

“You spend about forty-five minutes demonstrating that, all to reiterate it vocally?”

“Yeah, but you still don’t get it. I’m not up here wildin’ out. I don’t wild out. I don’t have a reason to!” His bite sharpened.

My emotions shot up to my throat, but my stubborn spirit prevailed as my mouth balled bitterly.

He sat up on his elbow. “I mean… I don’t know how to prove to you that I don’t have a need to ass-chase—”

“Or catch?” I challenged. “I saw that floozy all up in your face! She loved that attention from the new
Kings
QB!”

Trent fell back on the mattress in heavy laughter. “I can’t believe you, man. You gonna have us out there looking crazy to my peoples.”

“What peoples?”

“Management. Cole is my boss’ daughter. She works for the
Kings
.”

“So?” I snapped my neck. “That mean she doesn’t have eyes for all of…” I waved my hand over his glorious nude body, still sweaty and heaving. “…this?”

Trent turned to me with a beam of humor in his eyes. One similar to Cole’s out there earlier. “That’s exactly what it means, seeing she belongs to my man—” he staggered. “Or will be…soon,” he tried to correct.

“Well, which is it?”

Trent shrugged casually. “I don’t know, honestly. It ain’t my business.” His eyes appeared on me, turning hard. “My business is here; and you flexin’ at innocent people!”

“Innocent? Puh!” I huffed. “That’s debatable!”

“But your flexin’ ain’t, Jade. I mean… I get you ridin’ for me with my moms and all. But you can’t be running up on people when you can’t fight.”

I jumped to my knees. “Can’t fight? You think I can’t?” I bucked at him.

With curving lips, he softly answered, “Nah. You know you ain’t about that life, Ms. West Orange Preparatory Academy.”

“I may not be practiced, but I can’t be held responsible for the damage I’ll do if I find you with another woman.”

“Aaaaaargh!” he growled covering his face with his palms. “That’s the thing, Jade! I don’t want another woman. I’m good with just you!” He leaped rapidly in the air, clearly struck with a thought. “Is the reason you wild out the way you do because dude, Ryshon, cheated on you a lot?”

I took a moment to consider his question before answering honestly.

“Yeah, he cheated a lot. And yeah, I spazzed out. A lot.”

“And are you wildin’ out to keep me from cheating on you like he did?”

“No.”

“Well, why do you do that with me?”

“There’s a difference. I spazzed with Ryshon and his chicken-heads because I wanted to fit in,” I explained with so much ease in that revelation. “I didn’t want to be a punk. The girls he dealt with were hood, and I didn’t want them or him thinking they could walk over me because I wasn’t as naturally brolic. I wouldn’t back down.”

“Why do you do it with me when I told you I don’t wanna be with anybody else? Look how long it took us to get here. You think it’ll be easy for the next?”

I shook my head, frustrated by his inability to understand me. His underlying accusation.

“It’s just different!”

“What’s different about it?”

My neck snapped to face him. “Do you really want me to answer that? We know you don’t like for me to talk real feelings for you,” I hissed.

“Explain, Jade,” he demanded with flared nostrils.

I let out a hard exhale. “I came up here to celebrate your first win with hot sex and a cute costume, not to be picked apart after punitive hot sex—”

“Jade!”

“Fine! With Ryshon, I did it to fit in. Plain and simple. And with you, I do it for survival! I don’t want to be without you! It may have been only a year, but I don’t want to recall or know what life is like without you! Okay?” I covered my face in shame, fighting back the tears.

I can’t believe I went overboard with Jordan’s girlfriend! Now, his friends will hate me…

Trent’s big hand pulled my two from my face. When I was able to focus on him, I found one of his brows peaked.

“Sex in costume? I’mma have to cash that in,” his tone was suggestive.

I sighed. “You’re such a fiend!”

“And you are, too. Now, let’s try this again. Go change while I dismiss my party. I’ll be back in two minutes.”

He was leaving the bed, in search for his shorts. I watched as he hopped on one leg, putting them on.

“Go! Let’s move it, Jelly!”

Before I could ask if he was serious, Trent was out the door and slammed it shut behind him. I lifted from the mattress feeling weighted from my ceremonious arrival, unnecessary confrontation, punishing sex, and enduring Trent once again swerving my unreciprocated feelings for him. I sighed again, wobbling into the bathroom. I needed to relieve my bladder before doing anything else. My mind ran with the most haunting question. How long would this last?
My insecurities and his inability to trust
. We were a train wreck waiting to happen, but my feelings for him were too anchored at this point for me to get off the ride. Trent’s world was changing and at a rapid speed too advanced to keep him in the circle Kyree and I absorbed him into. I wouldn’t be an ideal girlfriend for a celebrity. I was too jealous and would drive myself crazy along with the man.

I showered quickly before slipping into the gray bikini I didn’t know if I could still fit. It didn’t matter; I’d only wear it a few seconds before Trent tore it off. He was a sex animal. With the intensity he played on the field tonight, it was unbelievable that he could go another round of sex. However, it wasn’t unheard of for me. All Trent had to do was breathe on me and I’d be revved up and ready for him.

I stepped out of the bathroom, fingering my hair while in search of my prop: his football. When I picked it up, I heard rumbling from behind me. It was Trent in the closet. He turned to glance at me, doing a double take. I watched the way his classically carved jaw dropped as he drank in my bikini clad body. Getting into character, I held the football with familiarity between my waist and left arm as I rested my right palm on the wall next to me.

“I came to cheer for the quarterback,” I breathed out huskily. “Game on.”

Trent sucked in a breath and backed against the wall, collapsing his head. “Goddamn, Jelly…”

I sputtered a gut-filled laugh. “That was so corny, and you fell for it?”

“Totally,” his chords were thick, Trent was caught up. I saw his cock thickening beneath his shorts.  C’mere, baby…”

I dropped the giggles and obeyed.

“She’s saying what?” I spoke into the phone with gritted teeth.

“She’s saying if you don’t contact her with an explanation, she’s going to release the video,” Elle exhaled.

“And what’s Brielle’s camp saying?” Their first instinct was to ignore and keep quiet.

“I’m waiting to hear back from them now. They’re so tight lipped over there…really solid, but I’m sure they’ll address this with me. Brielle’s supposedly naked with you in the video.”

I remembered that night so well. I was released in March and instead of being easy about my freedom, I’d gotten caught up with Brielle again. Never mind the fact that she didn’t come see me when I was up. She didn’t write either. She’d only send messages through JJ like he was the damn pole between her princess persona and me, the murky pond where fun had fallen into. The chick even had the nerve to shout me out in one of her rare interviews where she was asked, ‘
what would you say to Trent Bailey, your once close acquaintance, now that he is in federal prison
. It was a joke and so was Brielle. And that’s why I could kick myself for getting caught up in her bullshit as soon as I was released. Of course, she was ready for me—spent two weeks at my crib because I couldn’t travel yet due to my restrictions.

Brielle was a larger than life pop star. She was gorgeous, talented, and sexy as hell. She’d been in the industry since a teen and had garnered the title “queen of pop.” She won countless Grammys, starred in major Hollywood films, and was a household name. Hers also happened to be one I effectively buried in the back of my mine. The only time I thought of Brielle was when Jade would blast her music while cleaning the house, or when one of her tracks was played on the radio.

We dated on the low—at her PR team’s advisory—on and off for years before I got locked up. I liked her because she was fun and carefree when with me, but to the public, she was more reserved and responsible with her image. I thought her tendency to let go and have a ball, be it comically or sensually, with me was an act of my chemistry with her. I wasn’t in love with her, but we were definitely solid to the point of me caring for her. Brielle was with me when I sat down with the builders to design my house in Alpine. Her house warming gift to me was having it decorated. Her style wasn’t mine, but if left up to me, the house would have remained bare…until Jade.

Jade came with a level of class and elegance that you would miss if you focused on her setback in housing. She was actually the classiest woman I’d ever dated—far more than Brielle’s posing ass. Truth of the matter was Brielle was a lot of the reason why it had taken me so long to trust Jade. The sneaking around after dark and sexual aggression concerned me for months because that was similar to what Brielle had done with me for years. She would creep with me behind the scenes, but claim me as just a “cool” friend to the public when we’d been seen out at events. The difference between the two women, that I now understood, was Jade only crept until I gave her an in. Then she was all over me, showering me with affection and untainted desire in front of the world. Jade wanted me, shielded me for my protection and her peace. I had meant that to her. Not some ploy like I’d been for Brielle for years.
