“I love you, Mrs. Vasso.”

I snuggle against him, feeling safer and happier than I’ve
been in a long time. “I love you too, Mr. Vasso.”

I press my ear against his chest and listen to his heartbeat
as it slows down. Just as I think he has fallen asleep, the rumble of his voice
starts in his chest. “You should really try to get some sleep. You know I’m
going to be waking you up again in a few hours.”

I laugh, swinging one of my legs up and over his body. When
I lean down to bring my face closer to his, he grins up at me. “Why wait until
then?”

He nips the end of my nose. “Bring it, my opal.”

I do.

Chapter Twenty-Two

“Are your bags all packed?” Harper calls from the living
room while I power up my cellphone for the last time before we hit the road.
“We have to be at the airport in thirty minutes if you’re going to make your
meeting.”

“Coming, I just want to check one last thing.” I shout back.
He goes back to loading the rest of our bags in the car.

I can’t help but smile as I load up the latest gossip rag
websites. They’re claiming all kinds of crazy things about Harper and me. It’s
what I’ve come to expect and it doesn’t even make me mad any more.

But it’s the comments that I love the most. Where before
they were dismissive and uneducated, more and more readers are speaking out
against the lies and slander being posted about me. It is much easier for me to
read what is being said when I get to see the responses finally reflecting more
of the truth.

It was more than I expected a year ago and I knew it would
only get better as time went on. These shows of support are exactly what I need
as I make my way through my most recent ambitions. But more than that, they are
a symbol of what I have overcome.

I am no longer the girl they thought they knew. I am no
longer someone who can be pushed around. The right people know they want me in
their corner and the wrong people stay far away from me.

I look back over my shoulder to where Harper has vanished
and smile again. I think about the people who have dismissed me, the ones who
have underestimated me. No matter what my haters might think now, they at least
know that I am a force to be reckoned with.

I check my stocks and the various business reports that are
waiting for my approval. My email, which I haven’t checked since the wedding, is
full of invitations and requests for appearances. I don’t respond to any of
them, just mark a few for follow-up and forward them to my casting managers.

Harper comes up behind me while I am working and wraps his
arms around me. “Working hard, I see.”

I tilt my head back so that I can get a better look at him.
Just looking into his eyes makes my body tingle with awareness. The things he
can do to me are so much more than I ever hoped for. He is every twisted, hot
fantasy I have ever been too afraid to let myself have.

I would wear every bruise with pride.

“I just have a few more things to check.”

He tsks. “You said that ten minutes ago. We’re going to be
late at this rate.”

I put my phone back in my pocket and turn in his arms. He
immediately gathers me up and pulls me in close. Close to his heart. “Does it
matter if we’re late? You own the plane, don’t you?”

This time he laughs and I get caught up in the absurdity of
our lives. I’m blessed in so many ways and this man is the beginning of
everything. He fits in my life in the most honest way possible and I do the
same for him.

We will be the power couple of the century.

He kisses me and I feel the aggression behind the action.
The promise. He has stopped holding back and I love every moment of it. No one else
could take his intensity better than I do and no one ever will.

“Come on,” he says again. “Before I make us very,
very
late.”

Just like that, I am wet and ready for him. But he’s right,
we have to get going. The rich and powerful are an impatient lot, and the mayor
will take offense if I miss our meeting.

“Okay, I’m ready.” I walk away from Harper and head toward
the door. Before I step out into the sunshine, I call over my shoulder. “But
that doesn’t mean I won’t expect all the things you could be doing now, once we
get on the plane.”

Harper laughs. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Neither would I.

About Farrah Abraham

At the tender age of 16, Abraham evolved from high school
cheerleader and aspiring model to teenage mom-to-be as documented in the MTV
series 16 and Pregnant. Abraham faced single motherhood head-on as she dealt
with the passing of her baby’s father two months prior to her daughter Sophia’s
birth. The young star’s story would eventually captivate international
audiences and make her a fan favorite, creating the opportunity for Abraham to
star in MTV’s spin-off series, Teen Mom. After several seasons on MTV, Abraham
pursued higher education and has continued to build her brand.

Over the span of her blossoming career, Abraham has graced
the covers of top magazines, such as Us Weekly and Life & Style. The
reality star has been featured on dozens of commercials and networks, including
HLN, ABC, VH1, MTV, Bravo, E!, FOX, NBC and many more.

The top reality television personality, Abraham has used her
star power for advocacy projects making history in social issues. In August
2012, the brunette beauty released her first New York Times Bestselling
autobiography, My Teenage Dream Ended, which sold over 500,000 copies and won
best inspirational literature award by the EOTM Awards. Abraham’s personal
account of being a teen mother allowed her to reach fans on an international
scale, which led to the release of her collection of therapeutic music singles.

Through personal appearances, Abraham has become the main
attraction at nightlife venues and exclusive events around the world, which
leverages her wide range of endorsements. The entrepreneur works with beverage
companies and lifestyle brands, as well as with parenting and education
companies to spread positive messages about their organizations and products.
Additional upcoming projects include a second novel, music singles, novelty
toys, and additional consumer products inspired by her personal lifestyle.
