“It’s beautiful in here.” She walked over to one of the doors to see the bathroom revealed behind it. A sly smile appeared.

She gave him a wink and began to take off her clothes, dropping a piece at a time and leaving a trail to the bathroom. When he walked in he was naked and the tub was half full of scented water.

“I’m going to smell like a woman.” His voice held a smile as he hugged her from behind. She could feel his thick erection pressed against her ass as he moved her hair to the side and kissed her neck.

“Maybe we should take that bath later.”

“Maybe or maybe you should sit on the rim of the tub.” He looked at the tub then looked at her before going to sit, spreading his legs wide.

He called to her. She needed to touch him, reaffirm the connection between them. She missed him. Her mind was already slipping in and out of his. She didn’t know how they were going to do it, but they had to find a way to be together more than a day or two before The Darkness or her life traumas pulled them apart again.

For a minute, the fact that the Patron or the Clone Council could find her since she was no longer in the air tightened her throat before she shook off everything except thoughts of Mick.

Mick looked at her and saw the longing in her eyes, but he needed her to know him, see him for both the good and the bad that lived inside of him. He allowed his body to change; it went through several different shifts showing her who he was and what he could become. There were no secrets, no hiding. If she wanted him, then she would know what she was getting.

He looked at her with eyes going a dark shade of blue. She could see the fear of rejection in them. She didn’t care that his body could change forms just like he didn’t care she was a clone. He was beautiful in every form he took and deadly but it didn’t matter because no matter what he looked like on the outside on the inside he was still Mick, her mate.

She walked up to him and leaned over kissing him deeply before she sank to her knees.

“I don’t care what form you wear, Mick, you’re still you and that’s what I’m attracted to, I like who you are on the inside the person you keep hidden from the world.”

“Jaz mine,” his voice came out as a croak as she took her hand and slid it around the tip of his cock.

A drop of pre-cum beaded up; she took her tongue and licked it allowing the small burst of flavor to take over her taste buds. She let out a moan before she licked the head of his cock again.

“Jaz, you don’t have to…”

She took his cock in her mouth stopping his words.

“I don’t have to what? Touch you, lick you, taste you?” Her hand wrapped around his stiff erection slowly pulling up on it.

A gasp came from his lips making her smile. “I used to dream about stuff like this; then shame would send me to the bathroom to scrub at my skin since I couldn’t scrub my mind clean.”

She placed her mouth over his cock and sucked him, allowing her head to move up and down making him slick with her mouth.

She took him in a little further, a little deeper as her cheeks puffed out. She worked harder, wanting him to spill in her mouth.

A deep moan came from him as his hips started thrusting up pushing his cock deeper inside of her mouth. That’s it; she wanted to taste him. She could feel his legs shake. He allowed her to feel the pleasure that was coursing through his body, all coming from her mouth on his cock. The incredible feel of her on his cock making him shake. Then he was setting her away from him, breathing deeply as he got himself back under control.

Why did he stop? Didn’t he want her that way?

“You’re not dirty, Jaz mine.” He stood, and bent over to let the water out the tub. “You don’t need to scrub at your skin for an atonement of a sin you never committed.” He watched as the water spiraled down the drain.

“You can place your sexy mouth on me anytime, but I won’t be spilling in it until you know that it’s not a sin, that you’re not doing something wrong. Until you are so sure about who you are you can shout it to the universe.”

“You’re still, umm, hard.”

He looked down. “So I am. I probably should take care of that.”

He reached down and grabbed his erection in his hand. The muscles in his arm bunched and her eyes widened. Her tongue peeked out between her lips as her breaths came out harsher. He pulled on his cock and her vagina throbbed. She bit her bottom lip to keep from crying out as he moistened his hand and started pumping in earnest.

His eyes were on her, the blue expanding almost as if she could fall into them. Her hips moved just a little keeping up with his movements. Faster, he went faster. She could see his nostrils flare as he gave one last hard pump of his cock and his seed shot out hitting her on her belly.

Her frantic fingers slid down her body looking for relief. Mick picked her up and placed her over his thick cock before he dropped her on it. A squeal of pure bliss left her lips even as she tried to move, to rock on him. He walked her to the wall and held her tightly as he began to pump into her.

She screamed his name even as she wrapped her legs around his waist. She begged for him to move faster, harder. She needed what only her mate could give her.

Mick’s control slipped. He couldn’t control the thrust, couldn’t make it easy and good. He demanded, he took, and still her high keening sounds were coming. She’d be sore when he finished loving her, but he couldn’t make himself stop, he needed this. This oneness. Her body shook violently in his arms when she came around him, squeezing so hard that she took him with her. His knee’s started to give out. He held her tighter and moved her to the bed before they both fell.

Chapter Nineteen

They slipped into Sin City no one the wiser. They were shadows against the wall with the neon lights blazing in the middle of the city.

“Are you sure she’s hiding out here?” the first assassin asked.

“We finally tracked her here. For a while, it was like she left the Earth, although we could find no record or even visual of her having done so. Then she came back online, and the Patron had his lead assassin track her to Sin City. It makes sense, if you wanted to hide somewhere you thought was safe where would you go?”

“I’d come here because I would know the male in charge doesn’t take kindly to anyone being hunted on his property. Which makes me wonder why we are here.”

“We’re here because the Patron and his head assassin are deadlier than Eli.”

They slithered down the side of the wall going towards the residential housing.

Dante and Eli watched from the shadows as the assassins descended the wall before making their way into the city.

“That’s what happens when I let assassins that come into my city live.” He gave the male beside him an accusing look.

Dante shrugged, not too concerned about it.

“Why didn’t you tell me what Mick’s mate was?” Eli asked, still staring in the direction the males went.

“You have something against clones?”

Eli growled at him like an animal. “Keep your secrets but when this is all over, I want an explanation.”

“Agreed.”

“Should we go warn them?”

“And ruin Mick’s fun?” Dante cocked and eyebrow and smiled.

There was a barely noticeable sound when the assassin put his weight on the first step. The second avoided the step altogether. Silently they slipped up the staircase and opened the first door they saw. The bed held two forms that were sleeping peacefully. One of the assassins would slip his knife into her heart while the other cut her throat. She wouldn’t feel a thing.

He brought his knife down over her heart only to be repelled by a shield.

“Honestly, you didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?”

Mick jumped out of the bed as the first assassin ran at him, his knife placed to catch Mick in the mid-section. He went low using a roundhouse kick to knock him off balance and followed through with a punch that sent him staggering backward.

The second assassin flew at Mick tackling him from behind. He brought his knife around to slice Mick’s neck. Mick turned them over and directed his hand into his chest. The look of surprise on the assassin’s face before he died gave Mick a momentary pause before he was up and going after the assassin trying to break through the shielding protecting Jaz.

“Wouldn’t it have been smarter to run?”

“I kill her, or the Patron kills me.”

“Then I guess it’s your lucky day,” Mick called his Symphor and threw it at the male’s chest. His death was easier than anything the Patron would have granted him. Now he just needed to clean up the mess.

*~*~*~*

Jaz opened her eyes looking for Mick. A moment of panic hit her when she didn’t find him in the bed next to her.

“Jaz mine,” his soft voice reached her ears.

Her hand came up to cover her heart that was beating much too fast. Letting go of the fear, she turned to look at him. He was freshly out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. He looked good. The muscles in his chest and arms rippled as he moved. For a minute, she was confused how this could be her life. How could he be her mate? The smile on his lips and the spark in his eyes as he watched her, told her she wasn’t dreaming; it was real.

“Hi, I was worried when I didn’t see you in the bed.”

“I had a hard time sleeping, so I decided to take a shower. That way I would be ready to make breakfast when you got up.”

“Oh no,” she sat up drawing the sheet around her body. “I’m making breakfast today.”

He shot her a dubious look making her laugh.

“See what happens when you go away and leave me alone.”

“I’m going to have to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”

“Please do,” she choked on the words, her heart beating fast again as she thought of him disappearing. She rubbed her chest as he walked over to her.

“I’m here,” he whispered sitting on the bed next to her. “I’m trying, Jaz, like I’ve never tried before because I want to be here for you. I want to…” He let his words trail off because he didn’t think she was ready yet but that wouldn’t change what was in his heart.

“I never want to leave you, Jaz mine,” he whispered in her mind.

Darn stupid heart. It never knows when to be quiet. She cuddled in his arms where she felt safe and secure. Together they could face anything.

“So about this breakfast you’re cooking me.”

She laughed and slid out of his arms. “You, sir, will just have to wait until I have a shower of my own.”

“So that’s how it is. My mate teases me with breakfast then saunters off to take a long slow shower.”

“See, I knew you understood.” She climbed out of the bed, kissed him, and disappeared into the bathroom with a smile on her face.

She took the quickest shower of her life and was looking for clothes before she knew it. Showers were one of the things she now loved to linger in, and when she and Mick finally figured out what would be normal for them, she would indulge again. For now, being away from him too long made her worry.

The laughter coming from the kitchen let her know they had company. Her stomach dropped, she had been looking forward to spending time alone with her mate. She stopped in the door to look in; Mick lit up as he talked to his brothers and they had the same looks on their face. His family was important to him and after spending a week with them, she understood why.

They had become her backbone when she thought she would have a meltdown. Now they were here because they needed to see their brother, know he was okay. They could have come last night, but they didn’t. They knew she needed time alone with her mate. The small bit of jealousy that tried to take root in her heart died, she knew there was room for all of them in Mick’s life.

“Why are there so many people in my kitchen and I don’t see any breakfast?”

“Someone said we have a surprise cook today, so we have all been patiently waiting,” Brook’s warm voice said from the back of the room.

“I didn’t see you sitting there.” Jaz wound her way around the males to give her a hug.

“That’s because when they surround me, I get lost in the crowd.”

“No you don’t,” Damon gave her a quick hug. “We always know where you are.”

Brook’s smile confirmed she knew that to be true. Ash growled at Damon making him and Brook laugh.

“Looks like I’m cooking. Where’s my coach when I need him?” she said, looking around the room.

“I’m right here.” Dante appeared by her side. “You don’t need me, you got this, but we should talk about what you’re making.”

Mick watched as Dante pulled his mate aside and whispered to her as they stuck their heads into the fridge. Seeing her interact with his family, and the love they were showing her made his heart ache. His mate and his brothers interacting, becoming a family, it was more than he dared to hope for.

He spent centuries watching his half-brothers, the Dares, with their mates and knowing he would never receive that gift. Now Jaz was here; he had been given the impossible, and he wasn’t about to let The Darkness or anyone else take it from him.

“Are there any signs of The Darkness around?” his voice was quiet as he asked.

“Lucca and I did a walk thru Sin City to see what we could spot. They look like they’re congregating in the northern corner where there is nothing but fields. They aren’t in use right now, so Eli doesn’t have a reason to demand they leave,” Julian replied keeping his voice low.

“If I confront them now—”

“They will kill you,” Damon interrupted. “Jaz might not see how weak you are but I can see it, and my scanner doesn’t lie.” He held up the mini scanner in the palm of his hand.

Of course, Damon was checking him over; he wanted to know what Mick suffered and how much recovery time he needed. Which meant he could see the lash marks on his back that were healed just enough not to cause Jaz to worry.

“I can fight,” Mick protested He needed to be able to take care of his mate.

“You can fight, that’s why you’re not in a medbed in my medical wing, but…you can’t fight The Darkness. They would tear you apart, and you know it.”
