No, I mean it. I

kill
him.”

But how? You can’t attack him
outright, maybe poisoning would work, but you can’t risk yourself
for me.”

“
I can and I will. I’ll poison
the bastard’s foo
d. NO! I’ll put it in his drink; he won’t know what hit
him.”

“
You will do that for
me
?”

“
Of course!” She grabbed Jagger
and kissed him all over his face, then climbed on top of him.
Jagger let out a pained yelp. She pulled back. “I’m so sorry; you
just make me go crazy. I don’t think when I’m with you.”

“
It’s not your fault.” He
winced, rubbing himself below. “I wish I could make love to you,
but I’m too damaged. Can you come back another time? I need time to
heal. Everything hurts.”

“
Oh, you poor darling.
S
ì
, I will come back—but only after I kill
Alberto.”

Jagger smiled sadly. “I wish you meant
that.”

“
I do
. Then I will hire mercenaries to get
you out of here.”

“
I will owe you my life if you
do. Then we can finally leave this damn island.”

She smiled wide, then
started kissing him
again. Jagger made another pained sound. She pulled back, looking
upset. “I want to stay, but I am hurting you with my touch. I will
go now; they didn’t give me much time to be in here anyway, I just
needed to see you.”

“
I’m happy you
came.”

She let out a little laugh, then kissed
him on the forehead and got off the bed. “The next time I see you,
Jagger, I will be a widow.”

“
Just as long as I see
you.”

Smiling
, she blew him a kiss, then turned
and knocked on the door, asking to be let out. The door opened and
she left with one last wave, the door closing behind
her.

Jagger turned to me with a wicked smile.
“Was that an Academy Award performance?”

I nodded. “You are a master manipulator.
But do you think she’ll kill Alberto for you?”

His smile widened. “Without a
doubt.”
