She sucked long and hard on his tongue. She didn’t want to forget right now. She wanted to celebrate their small victory of staying alive in the game. She wanted to celebrate that she’d beat the odds and was still here.

In the end, more than any of the lies she was telling herself, she wanted Niko Dare. She’d wanted him from the moment she first saw him. She didn’t want to be strong or calculating. She just wanted to feel.

She pulled back and looked into his eyes, those amazing eyes she had seen in the game. They stared back at her now in all of their alien beauty.

“Kitten.” He raised his hand and stroked her cheek, rubbing his thumb along her jaw line. “I’m not a man. I won’t sleep with you and be ready to let you go in the morning. I’m going to want to keep you, but not control you.”

He would be the worst thing for her. She knew that. He would change her world, whether he wanted to or not.

She leaned in and kissed him again.

“Kitten.” He held her head steady as he looked into her eyes. “Dee, if I start, I won’t stop. I won’t be able to. I’ve waited for a long time. If you need time, I’ll continue to wait. But if you say yes, I won’t stop.”

She looked into his eyes, his true eyes, the ones that held fire in their very depths. He’d showed them to her, revealed who he was. She’d seen him for who he really was. No hiding, no fear, just him.

She wanted a chance to be seen for who she really was and she wanted it with him.

“Yes.” Her need to run paled in comparison to her need to be with Niko, to feel him holding her, loving her. She wanted to feel something besides exhaustion and she wanted it with him.

He stood holding on to her. He crossed the room and took the steps two at a time until he came to the bedroom. He took his time walking to the bed and lowered her like she might break.

He stood at the edge of the bed looking at her. She stood, using the height of the bed to be closer to his height.

“You’re so beautiful. So fragile.”

“Wrong. I’m tough. I won’t break. I’m a lot tougher than I should be.”

“Kitten.”

“See me, Niko. Please see me.”

She reached down and caught the hem of her shirt and pulled it up.

“I’m not a fantasy. All this is real flesh and blood. I’ve been abused, kicked and used. You name it, I’ve probably done it. Don’t look at me like I am a Barbie. I’m not. I am real. See me.

See me and like what you see, despite the fact that I am no angel and won’t win the most virtuous award of the year.”

“I see you, Dee. I see a woman who had to fight for what she wanted. My guess is you started fighting when you were small.”

She nodded her head. Most thought she lived a privileged life as a child. They thought her home and car and nice clothes came from money left by her mother. Most were clueless. She’d worked hard to put herself through school and even harder for the life she lived.

He breathed her in, then kissed the side of her neck, making her shake. She loved the feel of his mouth on her.

“Shirt off. Tit for tat and all that good stuff.” He stood back and took off his shirt with one graceful movement. She sighed as his chest came into view.

He stepped close again. She leaned over and licked the side of his neck. He shivered.

“You like that.” She gave a throaty laugh, then did it again.

He kissed down her chest placing small bites on her until he got to a nipple. He took it in his mouth and bit hard.

“Again.” She screamed. He obliged, biting her again.

The rush of pleasure was almost more than she could take. Her legs shook and her pussy clenched in need. She could feel her juices pooling between her lips, sliding down her legs.

He switched nipples, moving those lips and deadly teeth to her other one. He sucked the nipple in, making her moan. Then he bit it while he pinched the other one.

Was that high keening sound coming from her lips? Her pussy spasmed, sending shards of pleasure through her and her legs tried to buckle, but he caught her.

He laid her down and stripped her pants off before taking his off, leaving himself in the buff.

“Wow that was good.” Her eyes were closed. Had she ever felt something that good before?

“Good.” His voice was rough and low. He sounded like he was barely keeping control.

She turned her head and opened her eyes to look at him. She fought to breathe. His body was a piece of art work. She reached out and touched a muscled leg to remind herself he really was flesh and blood.

His Beast had woken up. She could see him in his eyes. She waited for the suffocating panic to come. It didn’t.

He was magnificent, that beautiful hair pulling her in, those eyes capturing her like she was prey. The strong line of his neck molding into a chest that was so defined it should be illegal. His abs were so tight she wanted to lick them. His tapered waist with that incredible v was driving her crazy.

All on top of two well-defined, muscled legs. He would make a body builder cry.

She moaned deep in her chest. His cock was beyond impressive. It stood out from his body like a calling card. It was so hard and thick that she wondered if she would be able to get him in her mouth. He was long and her pussy throbbed wanting to feel him deep inside.

She reached her hands up to him.

He was beside her in an instant. Their lips met again as her hands caressed his body.

He kissed her everywhere he could reach. Kissing, biting and licking.

She rocked her pussy against his leg. She needed to feel him in her.

“I don’t want to hurt you, kitten. I need you so bad.”

“You won’t.”

“I’m bigger than you, thicker too. My thrust is harder than a humans.”

“Good, I need that. Break through my apathy, my inability to feel. I need you, Niko. Don’t make me beg.”

“Never that.” He rubbed against her, allowing his shaft to be covered in her juices.

She met his movements, rocking her body back and forth on his hard erection.

“You feel so good Niko.” If she kept it up, she knew she would come again from his rubbing.

One minute he was rubbing between her legs, the next she felt the blunt tip of his cock pressing against her, searching for entry. Holy hell, he was huge.

The tip sunk in and his eyes met hers. “Need you so bad, Kitten.” He sunk in deeper making her gasp as he stretched her.

He rocked back and forth, allowing her to get used to him. With one final thrust, he seated himself. Her body broke apart in another orgasm as she screamed her pleasure.

Chapter Fifteen

Her body shook. He stayed perfectly still, allowing his arms to keep the weight of his body away from her.

He watched her as her mouth worked, the pleasure he brought her crossed her face.

Her eyes opened. She’d been incapable of keeping them that way when her body shook.

“That was incredible.” She took one good look at him. The muscles in his arms shook and his breathing was labored.

She wrapped her legs around his waist and surged up on his erection, forcing it deep within her body.

That was all he needed. His mouth latched onto a nipple while his hips pounded into her. He rode her hard, desperate to get as deep in her as possible.

“Kitten, your body is finer than silk. You fit me so well.” He plunged in again, making her pussy quiver.

Could she die from too much pleasure?

“Don’t want to hurt you.” His hips continuously filled her like a jack hammer, a little harder and faster each time.

He growled as he drilled into her. His beast made noises that turned her on, while the male groaned his pleasure.

She was sick. She accepted that, but she wanted him anyway. It was his eyes that gave it away. The sea blue eyes looked like someone had lit a match behind them.

She felt his body stiffen. He threw back his head and plunged into her one more time. The deep groan of pure satisfaction and the kick of his hot seed set her off again. She came right with him.

She kissed his neck and tried to pat his back, but her arms were to tired and achy to lift.

“Are you ok?”

She smiled weakly. “Never better. You?”

“You’re perfect.”

“Of course I am. You should’ve known that way before now.” She teased him.

He took a deep breath and pulled out of her.

“I’m going to miss that.” Dee said savoring the pleasure.

“You’ll get it again. It’s yours now.” Niko leaned over and kissed her.

“Promises, promises. That’s what they all say until the next pretty face comes along.”

He didn’t protest. She didn’t need assurances.

They lay there in silence. He’d gathered her body and pulled her close. She gave him the occasional kiss. Should she dress? Would he let her leave?

“There aren’t a lot of people like my mother’s.” Niko said quietly.

“What makes them so different?”

“They’re truly a matriarchal society. Long ago they used to be patriarchal. The males ruled everything including the females. This may have not been a problem if as on your world, the females had been able to see freedom for themselves. This never happened on that world.

The greed of the males almost killed the females off. I don’t know how they did it. The memories of that time aren’t clear, but they had an uprising. The males never knew what hit them.”

He stopped, lost in his thought.

“I’m glad for the females of your mother’s planet. Sometimes you must be the person to fight for yourself.”

He nodded and stroked her side.

“It was a long, bloody battle. There were many casualties on both sides. It seemed as if that planet would become a footnote in history, a story told to keep other planets in line.

No one knows how they did it. One minute they seemed to be dying out, the next they were the ruling body. Everyone has a theory about what happened.”

“What’s your theory?” She reached out and stroked his arm. She let her fingers walk until, she found his hand. She entwined her fingers with his, giving him a big smile and a wink.

“They surrendered.”

She frowned at him. “What would make you think that?”

“You saw the picture of my mother she was no weakling, the males of her planet are even stronger. They stand as tall as I do when I’m in my natural form. They’re built solidly. They were and still are a warrior race. How does a race of men who have warred all their lives, lose their planet to the females of their race? They surrender.”

“Why would they surrender?”

“The planet had one ruler. Under him sat others who had rule over certain portions of the planet. They all answered to him. He had one mate. This wasn’t the custom at the time. They took as many mates as they could afford to keep and protect. If someone stole your female, she wasn’t yours anymore.

I believe he was confronted with a choice, one no male should ever have to make. He could either surrender to her or he could watch her die. He surrendered.”

She searched his face, looking for a smile or a gotcha, but saw nothing other than honesty.

“If what you believe is true, he changed the whole trajectory of your planet. Do you think they hate him for that?”

He looked puzzled. “I’ve often wondered about that. The women aren’t mean or callous. The men aren’t kept as submissive. They don’t bow or scrape. They hold office and do as they wish. The females lead in different ways. They pick their mates, not the other way around. They don’t part once mated.

A family is torn about by death. Death is natural, caused by a sickness or war. Wars are with others who try to invade their planet. Both the males and the females have adapted to this way of life. Neither could imagine life any other way.”

“It’s hard for me to imagine a world where there is no separation.” Dee said. “My mom found her soul mate. It was my dad. He died when I was six. From then on she had to raise a child and she was ill prepared to do it. She always thought love would save the day.

She learned the hard way that love didn’t always stay. Life was hard. She cried every night and many times we didn’t eat. She would always say that we should never eat every day. It made us think we were better than others when we did. We needed to learn to push our bodies to be the best we could be.”

She stopped to wipe a tear away. She was over all of this and she refused to cry.

“She used to cry herself to sleep. Then one night she came out of her room. She was dressed up. It reminded me of when my dad was still alive. She told me to stay in my room and sleep. Whatever I did, I couldn’t come out till she told me too. I kissed her and went to bed.

The woman who woke me up the next morning looked like my mom, but she wasn’t her. That morning a man was sitting at the table when she fed me breakfast. He was the first of many. My mom taught me that a body could be used to make a way in this world. Never to think of it as special or even as totally yours. It was more like currency.”

She rolled to her side not wanting to see his face. Would he be looking at her with pity or disgust? She never claimed to be like the others.

He rolled her back over. He caressed her face. That same gentle move that he’d done before. She blinked fast to keep any tears from spilling.

“Where’s your mother?”

“Dead. She killed herself on my twenty-first birthday. She left me a note. Dear Dee, I’m so sorry. You’re grown now, baby. I’ve done everything in my power to teach you how to deal with this hard and sometimes cruel world. You’re equipped. I know you can make it. Don’t judge me too harshly, baby. I miss your father. I left you two things. Money for college – get that education you always dreamed of, Dee. You can do it. The second is love. I didn’t do a good job teaching you about it. I was always so concerned about you making it in this world. I love you Dee and your dad loved you too. You hang on. I promise I’ll petition the man upstairs every day until he sends you someone to love forever. Your mom.”

Her silent tears fell fast. He held her close.

“Pitiful.”

“No, kitten. Tragic.”

She shook her head in agreement. It was tragic.

“Why did you tell me that story, Niko?”
