****

Luke had spent the last eighteen hours at the office, showering at the gym around the corner and even purchasing a new shirt and tie from a local men’s store just down the street from his office. He checked his watch and flipped through the files again – something he’d done now at least a half a dozen times. He was not himself and wouldn’t be for a hell of a long time to come. What had happened with Jessie, her interference in a way with his business, was just the tip of his anger. She was merely the catalyst of the panic attack he knew he’d experienced. Or so he thought. The tuxedo had already been in his office and it was a matter of a few minutes before he would need to change. The event he couldn’t avoid.

He walked toward the office window and studied the lights of the city. Normally the flickering calmed him, reminded him he was very much alive. Tonight they simply stated in bold colors he was a loser. He wasn’t good at being a businessman, a friend and certainly not a Dom. A quick glance to his watch reminded him that the party he’d literally required Jessie to be at was indeed very important. He wanted to make certain his firm was remembered as new contracts were about ready to be signed.

Besides, he needed to finish some things before he could go away with Jessie. Snarling, he slapped the window. If she would go away with him now. No matter she was his submissive, he wasn’t going to force Jessie to do anything. She had to come to him, want to serve him, please him. Anything else wasn’t acceptable. “What am I doing wrong?” He knew. Of course he knew. And in the knowing remained the terror capturing every pore, stifling every move he made. The last thing either of them needed was for him to be questioning his dominance right now. He had to be strong for her, for both of them.

After gazing down at the crowded streets below and thinking about how futile he’d always thought their lives were, he tilted his head back and laughed. Luke was out of his element tonight, very much not himself. But it was time to put on a show, one for more than just his athletes. Tonight was important to both he and his firm. His partner could handle things for the two weeks he was going to be away, but the celebration was about signing two important players and trying to woo the one he’d lost. Not an easy feat.

Luke turned away from the window and as he walked past his desk he could swear he saw a shadow, one that would forever haunt his deep psyche. A wave of cold air washed over him. Clenching his eyes shut, he counted to ten and moved silently toward the bathroom.

Ten minutes later he was dressed and standing back at the window. The evening was clear, stars in the sky. Twilight was his favorite time of night, a moment where the world seemed to be inviting the unknown, summoning a measured moment of darkness. During those times demons managed to grab souls who weren’t as they seemed – the ones that had no goodness within. The old story, one told by his dying mother remained as a constant reminder. Maybe she knew better after all.

He grabbed his keys and moved out of his office. For a few seconds he stood quietly amongst a crowded room of employees, scanning the men and women who made up his work force. They were hard workers because they believe in what he was doing, his dream. There were so many days he hadn’t cared he asked them to stay late, take time away from their families for the sake of his business, building his dream. He’d managed to convince himself they were all better off because of his leadership. Now he simply felt guilty.
Guilty for taking their time. Guilty for not allowing more time off. Guilty because he hadn’t cared before.
Now he wasn’t certain he knew how to care.

“Boss you are lookin’ mighty fine.”

“You must have a hot date.”

Luke waved them off. The two men were his top managing agents, the ones who worked with the finest athletes. He laughed softly. The finest meant the ones with money. “You know what tonight is and you’re late. You need to get dressed.”

“Slave driver,” the first man said then grinned. “You know we’ll be there.”

“Yeah, just signing a new client like the Scrooge of a boss required us to do. Funny how hard he works us.”

Raising his eyebrow, Luke slowly turned his head toward the two men who grinned and preened, turning in a full circle. “You work hard for a reason.”

“If you say because of the great pay I think I might faint,” the first man chortled.

“Robert, you know you love working for me.” Luke adjusted his bowtie and checked his watch.

“Seems like that hot date is calling,” Robert shook his head. “We’ll be there, boss. And I checked on everything. We’re all ready for the big night.”

“Excellent.” Luke scanned the room one more time before nodding. “Let’s kick some ass tonight, gentlemen.” Taking long strides he headed for the door. Tonight was going to be a good night. Somehow.

Luke breathed in deeply as he walked toward the car, taking in the bright moonlight sky. Unlocking the car he tossed his briefcase in the back and just seconds before he climbed into the driver’s side, a cold shiver raced down his spine.

Don’t forget about me…

Chapter Four

Jessie remained quiet. In truth she had nothing to say to anyone. No, that wasn’t even close to being the truth. She didn’t want to give Luke the notion she was ready to succumb tonight. Of course she was supposed to just give in. That was her requirement as a submissive, but she wasn’t ready to even go to that level. At least not yet. She was angry with Luke as well as herself. Frustration raced through her and she was as unsettled as she’d been in a long time. There was no way she was offering an olive branch at this point. Not when he was acting like the male version of a prima donna. Darting a glance in his direction, she pursed her lips in an effort to keep from saying something horrible. She glared out the passenger window and pursed her lips. Whatever location they were going was certainly uptown and no doubt to a swank establishment.

“Do you understand how important this is for me tonight?” Luke’s voice cut into the dense air of the Mercedes.

His question caught her off guard. “Of course I understand.”

“Then tell me why and how.”

Jessie shot him a look and was rewarded with a whole lot of nothing. He wasn’t going to feed into her willful nastiness tonight.
Well bully for him.
Of course she realized The End Game, a business he’d scraped from the dirt more than once, was his baby. She wanted him to succeed. She would do anything to help him. But he was consumed with certain aspects.

Sighing, she took her own sweet time to answer. “I realize you feel like you lost a potential client, one who would be the cream of the crop. I know that tonight is a glow and show for the Press in order to feed this particular wannbe client about the facts that you are the only sports management firm for him. I get it. I’ll be the blond on your arm, the eye candy who will draw him attention.” When there wasn’t even a breath from Luke after a full two minutes, she finally looked in his direction. The lack of expression was worse than any level of anger. She’d crossed yet another line.

“Very perceptive of you. You’re right. I loathe the fact that you consider yourself adornment, but the truth is I hate to lose and I will do anything in my power to grab Trevone Williams, no matter what I have to do. Frankly I’m sorry you have to see me in this manner, but this client will mean taking The End Game to another level, one I have to have. I honestly hope you can understand what I’m saying to you.”

Jessie remained motionless, but she longed to reach over and touch him, hold his hand. When she finally spoke she realized how demure her voice sounded. “I believe in you and your company. I’ve told you that before. I know what you’re doing and I’ll do anything and everything I can tonight to help you. That I can promise.” She heard the audible sigh, knew he was having difficulty with his emotions. She was going to be by his side, no matter what. He was struggling and here she was worrying about small disagreements. She was here to support him. Period. The pep talk helped and after a few seconds she tentatively reached over and took his hand into hers.

Luke exhaled and clenched his fingers around hers. “I know you will.”

Tingles shifted from her spine to her pussy and for a few seconds she thought about easing over and unzipping his pants, taking the base of his cock into her hands. Licking her lips at the delicious thought, she forced herself to look away. She hadn’t realized her fingers had traveled to Luke’s crotch until he chuckled.

“Are you always in need?” Luke growled.

“You seem to make me this way.”

“So I do. Behave tonight. I need my professional girl by my side. Later, we’ll talk.”

“Okay. I mean yes, Sir,” Jessie mumbled her answer. This was going to be a difficult night not really being able to talk.

Luke gave her a sideways glance and wrapped his fingers around the hem of her dress, lifting slowly. “Of course you’re not wearing any panties. Correct my special submissive?”

“Of course not, Sir.” Jessie bit back a grin and opened her legs as he eased his hand under her dress, pinching her inner thigh. Shuddering, she leaned her head back against the headrest and gazed up through the moon roof. There was something very beguiling about the way the stars were flashing by, a blur of shimmering color that turned her on. She could smell the sweet fragrance of her wet pussy and fought laughing.

“I see you’re hot and wet.” Luke maneuvered his hand, slipping his fingers inside her pussy.

“Oh!” For some reason his move startled her. Lifting her butt from the seat, she opened her legs even wider in an effort to coerce him to shoving his fingers in as deep as possible.

“Very wet. Tell me, my sexy slut, are you hungering for one of the men who would enjoy riding you hard?”

The crude words weren’t new, but tonight Jessie was somewhat surprised he was in what she called his King like element. “Sir?”

“You heard me.” Luke stopped at a red light and turned to face her, his fingers driving deep into her cunt. “Do you want to have another man fill you, fuck you?”

“No…I mean…” Jessie knew she was blushing. How in the hell was she supposed to answer this one? With every hard stroke she found herself lifting her ass from the seat, her breath hot and heavy. A giggle slipped from her lips as she watched the steam forming on the glass.

“You mean what, Jezebel?” Leaning over he nipped her earlobe, breathing across her skin.

Jessie shivered and shifted in her seat, just about as wet and uncomfortable as she could be. “I mean…I….” My God the man knew how to push every button, making her into a wild and wanton woman.

“Tell me.” The words were nothing but a ragged command, a dark hunger. “Do you long to ride another hard cock? Do you want to have one in that sweet pussy of yours, one in your tight ass and at least one in your pursed mouth?”

Blinking several times she nodded, laughed then choked out the words. “Yes, God yes.”

“I didn’t hear you.” Luke shoved his fingers in, driving deep and hard.

There was nothing like the way he could just get her to the edge of nirvana then draw back and the second the light turned green she groaned and had to fight not to grab his hand. “Yes!”

“Good girl. I knew what you wanted and I’ll always know what you need.” Jerking the car away from the light Luke chuckled softly and patted her leg. “You may just get your wish.”

Why was he saying the words tonight? Did he expect her to be the party favors? Jessie’s entire body trembled as she thought about the concept. Would she do it? Yes, of course. Would she like what he was asking? Maybe. Easing the back of her hand over her mouth, she tried to keep her composure and simply look the other way as Luke continued to finger fuck her. Every part of her body was tingling, her blood pressure off the charts. She eased forward in the seat as he turned into a side street. There was no way the party was here.

Luke removed his hand and patted her knee. “Yes, my darling, your Sir has taste.”

“But here? This must have cost you a fortune.” The hotel wasn’t just the finest five star resort within a few hundred miles, the facility catered to the ubber rich, the upper echelon of society. She’d only been inside the posh establishment once.

“Here indeed. What better place to woo a few new clients?” He rolled toward the valet parking area.

“True enough.” As the door was opened for her, a gloved hand extended, Jessie felt a little bit like Cinderella. Nodding to the extremely handsome Italian man, she had to force herself to look at the actual hotel versus the dark skinned hottie.

“Sir, so nice to see you again,” the attendant said, his voice quivering.

Jessie caught the bit of information and wanted to be surprised at his reaction. When the hell had Luke been here? Making mental note she smoothed down her dress and allowed herself to be led from the curb to the sidewalk. Grasping the guy’s hand, she was cognizant of the fact Luke was trying not to watch, but she knew he wanted to see her, study her. He wanted to know what she was going to do with another man.

“You’re here for the event, Mr. Brennan. You’re expected of course. Everything is very much prepared on the thirtieth floor.”

Jessie could tell Luke was very much in his element. As the attendant walked her around the car, the young man’s eyes never leaving Luke, she had to fight the smile that so wanted to turn into a laugh.

“Thank you. Very much appreciated.” Luke nodded as they walked closer to the bank of elevators.

“You’re welcome sir.”

Jessie glanced over her shoulder at the attendant as Luke pulled her close. When he leaned over and kissed her forehead she sighed and smoothed down her dress for the third time since leaving the car.

Luke yanked her to the heat of his body. “What you seem to forget is that you belong to me. You’re beautiful every day of your life, in everything you wear and more importantly when you aren’t wearing anything at all. When you’re out you don’t have to worry about how you look. You will be gorgeous on my arm. You will be the most pleasing woman in the room. And remember, you will succumb to any and every desire I have. Tonight is no different. Do you understand?”
