When it
eventually arrived, the smiling and obliging doorman assisted with her taxi and
its door.

He waved
and bid her farewell
,
then, with hands behind his
back, he too gazed into space, rocked on his heels and considered Jody's night
sky.

He
smiled to himself in the full knowledge that any number of sexually explicit
and illicit acts, encounters and conquests may have, and may still take place
inside his modern day mansion house on this night.
As they
did on every night.
Yet he remained content and oblivious as to the
revelers, their reasons and their rewards.

On the
other hand, he might just know everything!

Chapter 17
What next?

Jody never
did divulge the complete turn of events in Amsterdam four years ago, or the
full truth of its significance in her ‘big plan’.

Instead,
she plied everyone with just the right amount of background information and role-playing
opportunities, together with regular updates and installments, sufficient to
keep their appetites whetted, their intrigue on fire and their sex lives
satiated in the process.

Jody’s
time in Fiji wasn’t just a holiday or ‘Travel Industry Trip’ either. It was
also another way of keeping her distance and staying ‘out of harm’s way’ for when
sentences were passed, “people” were locked up and keys were metaphorically
thrown away for however long the authorities deemed it necessary for “people”
to suffer.

“And
suffer they must!”

All the
clichés known to man (and woman) had been conjured up at some time in Jody’s
head.

“Hell
hath no fury like a school girl scorned,” seemed to be her favourite and she
had no qualms with the punishment dealt out to
those bastards
. In truth, her scorn, anger and venom had subsided
years ago, but a plan is a plan.

Finishing
the job was important. Doing it in style was showmanship and succeeding big
time, in total anonymity, was nothing short of triumphant.

And so,
another day of total relaxation under the picture postcard palm trees transposed
itself, through sunset and twilight, into the hot, humid, heady enchantment of another
tropical evening in paradise.

From her
tall wooden stool under the thatched overhang of the hotel beachside bar, Jody smiled
at the very friendly barman. He was a strong, youthful native of these idyllic
isles, who took it personally upon himself to ensure the most complete
satisfaction and fulfillment of certain ‘receptive’ individuals among his
guests, as we know from the opening page.

He
returned her sentiment, and developed it further into a dirty, big, all-knowing
grin, before attending to the thirst quenching requirements of our proud and
prurient protagonist.

Some
moments of circus-like skill and dexterity passed before he carefully placed three
tall, brightly coloured and suitably adorned glasses in front of her, for which
she thanked him.

Alcohol
induced, fruit flavoured libation expertly mixed with particular consideration
for loosening pent up inhibitions amongst their recipients. Actually there were
none in need of further loosening here, so in fact they were required only to
serve their main purpose. As long, cold, enjoyable evening drinks in the heat
of the tropics.

As Jody
turned, once again, to study the last of the fading horizon, two radiant and
particularly stunning beauties of lithe and luscious nature appeared from the
shadows to join her.

One
blond. One brunette. Both long.

Jody had
showered and dressed for the evening’s entertainment ahead of Famke and Aya,
and beaten them to the bar as usual. She passed over their cocktails, which
they received with wide eyes and big smiles.

“What
are they?” Famke asked the grinning barman.

To which
he replied, somewhat cagily, “It’s a secret.”

Lifting
the drink to her lips she drew in a lengthy straw-full of orange and yellow
alcohol and commented on its strength and sweetness.

“It’s
called a ‘Long Island Leg Opener’ round here,” said Jody, and they all burst
out laughing.

“Better
have another one then,” replied Famke.

Aya
leaned in between the two of them and quietly asked, “So when do we get to meet
these guys, then?”

“It
won’t be long now,” said Jody.
