Authors: Suzanne Enoch
Shock crossed her face. “What? How—”
“It’s all arranged. Just in case you returned, of course.”
“Do you have a pastor in the cellar?”
“I would, if I’d thought of it. Do you agree?”
Alexandra laughed, her turquoise eyes dancing. “Yes. For heaven’s sake, yes, yes, yes! Marry me this instant.”
Lucien pulled them both up, then swept her up to cradle her in his arms. “As you wish.” He looked up as Vincent appeared. “Vincent, bring the coach around.”
“Yes, my lord.” The groom turned on his heel.
“Wait!” Alexandra called.
“What is it?” Lucien asked, wondering if he would have to kidnap her again to get her to the church, after all.
“Vincent, please see that Shakespeare is tended to. We will return shortly.”
“Yes, Miss Gallant.”
“Yes, Lady Kilcairn,” Lucien corrected sternly.
The groom grinned and bowed. “Yes, Lady Kilcairn.”
Alexandra eyed Lucien as he carried her toward the front steps. “Not quite yet, Lucien. Don’t jinx anything.”
“You’re not getting away from me again, Alexandra.”
She twined her arms around his neck. “I don’t want to escape any longer,” she whispered, then kissed him. “I’m home now.”
He kissed her back. “And so am I.”
A native and current resident of Southern California, SUZANNE ENOCH loves movies almost as much as she loves books. She once appeared on an
E!
special,
Star Wars Is Back
, as an expert on the romance in the
Star Wars
movies. Other highlights include winning her third grade spelling bee, receiving an
E.T.
poster and T-shirt in an alien-inspired poetry contest, and submitting a script for
The A-Team
(which was not why the series was cancelled).
When she is not busily working on her next novel, Suzanne likes to contemplate interesting phenomena, like how the three guppies in her aquarium became 161 guppies in five months.
