"He told me I was The One."

A chunk of donut flew across the room as MJ
coughed her shock and surprise.

"Fuck. Off." She said, half choking. Alison
began slapping her on the back.

"Get off me, stop that, you're making it
worse!" She choked and hacked a little more, then swallowed some
water and recovered herself.

"Are you for real Alison? One damn date with
a millionaire and he tells you you're The One? What the hell did
you say to him?"

"Well of course I--"

"Took your panties off under the table?"

"MJ. For Christ's sake."

"You promised to blow him daily for the rest
of his life?"

"Jesus."

"Did you discuss a prenup? Because those
things are really important. Don't let this cheapskate nickel and
dime you out of what's legally yours. Are you listening to me?"

"MJ, if you don't shut up I'm leaving right
now. Do you hear me?" Alison was getting very tired of her best
friend’s line of questioning.

Okay, okay, just let me
settle down here a little." MJ fanned herself with a magazine, took
a drink of water, and then settled in for more
cross-examination.

"So tell me then. What exactly did you say
to him?"

"Well, I was left kind of speechless. I
mean, my God he's hot as hell--"

"And richer than God."

"Yeah, whatever--"

"Whatever? The guy is loaded. He's a
millionaire, right? Certified by the Certified Millionaire Online
Dating Agency or whatever it's called."

"Does that have to be the most important
thing?"

Alison couldn’t have cared less about the
guy’s money. In fact, she was sure he was broke, but MJ was fixated
on that one idea.

"Why else were you there? Why would you even
sign up with a millionaire dating agency if you didn’t care about
how much money he has? Every guy on that site should have minimum
one million dollars in cash in the bank and not a cent less or they
are guilty of fraud. So don't shortchange me here Ally, don’t skimp
on the details. Is the guy a millionaire or isn't he?"

"He kissed me."

"You let him kiss you?"

"He just did it. The perfect kiss. He
reached over to me, held my head gently in his hands, and then
kissed me without another word. It was like he was psychic. Just
the right moment, I swear to you, he was amazing."

"You let him kiss you."

"Of course I did."

"Without clarifying his financial
situation."

"We took a taxi home."

"Where was his limo? The guy arrived in a
limo. Did he lose it along the way? A taxi goddamn it? He took you
home in my best outfit in some stinking yellow cab with some motor
mouth cabbie in front ogling your cleavage?"

"Taxi, limo, come on what's the difference?
We went back to my place."

"Your place? Why your place? Weren’t you
good enough for his swanky pad? Or is it he hiding something?" MJ
was positively angry now. "Let me check this guy out, Alison. I
don’t want to be responsible for you getting involved with some
weirdo imposter." She turned to the computer, and logged in to the
dating website.

"I'm going to email that son of a bitch
right now and get to the bottom of this."

"You can't, MJ. That's my personal
account--"

"Which I set up."

"And then handed over to me."

MJ stopped. She took her hands away from the
keyboard.

"Did you seriously fuck this guy? Please
tell me you didn't fuck him."

"I didn't do anything with him, okay Mom?
Happy now?"

MJ breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank God for that."

"We just made out but Jesus Christ, it was
electrifying. That man knows exactly how to kiss, when to start,
when to stop, when to go slow. Jesus, I just can't imagine what
else he can do with that tongue."

"Nothing else as far as I'm concerned. Not
until you see a recent bank statement."

"I'm not interested in that."

"Don't be a fool. He already got a taste of
what you have to offer, so it's only fair that you get to see what
he’s bringing to the table."

"This isn't horse trading MJ."

"Who says it isn’t? Do you think that guy
would even have showed up if he hadn't already seen those big baby
blues of yours?" MJ stared down at her friend’s ample boobs. "His
part of the deal is the million dollars at least and not a penny
less. More is okay."

Alison looked down at her feet; her arms
were folded, her long blonde hair hanging over her face.

"Alison?"

She didn't move.

"Alison, what's going on?"

"I can't listen to this anymore." She stood
up. "Sometimes you really make me sick." She said. "How can you be
so materialistic?"

"How can you be so naive?"

"How can you be so chronically single for so
long? Maybe you need to lower your standards a little and finally
get off the shelf."

MJ's jaw dropped.

"I'm sorry MJ. I didn't mean that."

"Get out." She said.

"I really didn't, you're the best friend I
have--"

"Just get out of here now. Get back to work.
I mean it."

Alison turned and left the office. Why did
something so simple have to cause so many damn problems?

Chapter Sixteen

"Hey Olivia, how are you today?" Sebastian said.

The sexy Latina replied with a huge, lewd,
suggestive smile on her face and a luscious display of ample
cleavage squeezed up front and center by her Wonder Bra. "I'm
good," she said, "now that you're here."

Sebastian smiled, after last night he had
nothing to fear from Olivia’s advances anymore.

"Not now Olivia, please. You’re a very
beautiful woman and as much as I would love to take you up --"

"You already did, hot stuff, so let's drop
the pretense already."

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Sebastian
was still smiling, but genuinely mystified.

Olivia scooted over next to him and looked
up at him with huge, round, bedroom eyes.

"I already told them." She said in a loud
whisper. The eyes of female staff watched from all angles.

Sebastian stiffened everywhere except his
cock, which softened distinctly.

"Told them what? Told who?"

"Everyone and everything." Her eyes trailed
around the café, indicating all of the other female staff.

"I told them we were together last night
after work."

"You did what?"

She put her hand to his broad chest and ran
it down towards his crotch. Against his will, he felt a tingle of
response. He was only human after all, suffering with the worst
case of blue balls in his life.

"You're single, right?" She asked him.

"Uh... sure, yes."

Okay. So you still got
time."

"Time for what?"

"To catch up. Catch up with my story. These
girls all know you belong to me now and pretty soon Alison will,
too."

"You're crazy, Olivia. Look, I know MJ put
you up to this but it won't work. It can't work. Alison will never
believe you because--"

"Because what? She's known you for like
what, two seconds?" She plucked at his crotch again. He was
annoyingly hard. "Is that for me, lover boy?" She smiled. "You got
home late last night, big boy. Didn't you hear me come in?"

"I got home late and went to straight to
bed."

"After you made a telephone call."

Sebastian's heart froze. What was she
talking about? He had been on the phone all evening with the
Drummond security detail that was following Alison.

"What are you talking about, Olivia? I
probably made more than one phone call."

"Looked like just one very long, long phone
call to me."

"What is this? Were you stalking me or
something?"

"I don't call it stalking, lover boy. I call
it the ultimate compliment. Nice Maserati, by the way. But don't
worry, your secret is safe with me. You don't need to explain. I'm
open-minded -- not so sure about Alison though. You know, the whole
fake identity, pretend you’re a barista thing?"

He looked around the café and went pale.

"Do they all know?"

"They know we fucked--"

"But I never saw you--"

"It doesn’t matter. But don’t worry, I
didn’t tell anyone about your little secret. To them you’re just
Daniel Johnson, barista; not Sebastian Drummond--"

"Christ, Olivia, keep your voice down."

She grinned and stood close to him, swamping
him with her cleavage. The other girls watched with a mixture of
disgust and jealousy. Another helpless male sucked into the vortex
of Olivia Garcia Gomez. They would be lucky if there was anything
left of him by the time she was done.

"Please don't tell her, Olivia."

"What's it worth to you?" She plucked at his
crotch again. "Dios mio baby, you are all in proportion."

"I'll take you out, okay? On a date. But
please don’t breathe a word to her."

Sebastian didn’t know what to make of this
yet, but he was sure as hell going to find out. Olivia thought she
was clever but although she knew his real name, she still sure as
hell had no idea who she was really dealing with.

"It's a deal." She said. "Tonight. Pick me
up at 8:00 sharp and don't be late. Let's make it somewhere fancy.
I ain’t never dated a billionaire before."

"Shhh, keep it down. Don’t
worry, it'll be a
fancy
place alright. Just not a word to Alison and back
off while we’re here together. Alison can't know a thing or the
deal is off."

He looked around and saw Alison watching
them. She looked dejected and confused but then gave him a
secretive, barely visible smile that let him know everything was
okay between them. He shrugged his shoulders, looked to Olivia, and
then rolled his eyes to heaven. Alison gave just the tiniest smirk
and then set to work on a line of waiting customers.

Chapter
Seventeen

MJ sat in the office, stung by Alison’s words and
embroiled in her own conflicting emotions.

She knew she was attractive and that there
was more to life than just money. However, she was never going to
throw herself away on some no-account loser like Brad or a
penniless Prince Charming like Daniel. She deserved better.
Nevertheless, Alison was accurate in that she hadn't dated in
forever and she was beginning to look and feel like a hopeless
case.

MJ had invested so much time already in Don,
the area manager, without any result. At the same time, she still
wouldn’t fathom going the route of Olivia, gobbling up and spitting
men out like they were so many sticks of fruit flavored gum. Alison
had hurt her feelings, but only by speaking the truth.

She was right. She would have to make a
change.

But first, she needed to help her friend and
that meant getting to the bottom of what had happened last night on
her million-dollar date.

She clicked through to Alison's mailbox on
the dating website and began a thank you note to Dylan Bryant:

'Hi Dylan, I just want to thank you for
dropping me home last night. I had a truly wonderful night and I
would love to meet with you again. I hope you feel the same way
too.

Hugs and kisses,

Alison.'

That should do it.
She thought.
Let's see
what’s really going on here.

The reply came in seconds later:

'Your connection to this person has been
blocked. Please refer to our online help section to learn why this
may have occurred.'

WTF?

MJ stood up and marched out front. She stood
in the doorway and glared at Alison.

"Hey, Cinderella." She said. "Come on back
in here. I have a bone to pick with you."

When they were back in the office, MJ sat
Alison down and closed in on her, leaning on the armrests of her
chair, ready for the third degree.

"Tell me again what happened last
night."

"MJ, I'm so sorry--"

"Nevermind, you're totally right. I do need
to change my standards and I appreciate you telling me. Now I want
to know where you went last night wearing my clothes with the date
I set up for you."

"I already told you--"

"I know you never met with Dylan Bryant,"
she looked over at the computer, "so don't try to BS me."

"You hacked into my profile--"

"Not hacked into, logged into. I set it up,
remember? Now why did Dylan close out your connection? Alison," her
tone became softer, "I'm your friend, remember? I just want the
best for you. Did this guy hurt you in some way?"

Alison hung her head. Goddamn Mary Jane. She
was a true friend but a pain in the ass when she got her teeth into
something.

"I never met him."

"Damn it." MJ hissed. "I knew something was
up. So what the hell happened? Did you even go there?"

"Sure I did. His driver dropped me off at
Jean Jacques up on Central--"

"I know the place -- heard of it anyway.
Never had the pleasure. Michelin three stars, French, blah, blah,
blah."

"That's it. Well, I was hungry, starving in
fact, but I didn't know it. And I was nervous. I haven't been out
on a real date in so long, and I've never been to such an upscale
place. I'll admit I was intimidated, meeting a rich man like that,
so good looking. I...I just passed out on the floor in the stupid
doorway on the way in."

MJ fixed her stunning green eyes onto her
friend's gorgeous baby blues. "Oh my God Ally, I'm so sorry. I
didn't mean to put you through that." She threw her arms around her
friend and they both began to cry.

"It's okay MJ, really, it was my fault. I
should have just eaten something before I left here. I hadn't had
anything all day."

"You poor baby. Jesus, I just wanted you to
have the night of your life. Tell me this Bryant guy did the right
thing and swooped in to take care of you like a knight in shining
armor?"
