"I promise. One date only. Now you have to
answer my question."

"Go ahead. I’m ready."

"Sebastian said you almost had sex with his
older brother."

Alison felt increasingly uncomfortable.

"That’s right—"

"But that’s not my question. I’m presuming
that part is true. I also don’t want to know how he did that or how
far you two went together."

"Can we get to the point, MJ?"

"I’m getting there. I just want to be very
clear about what I want to know if I’m going to pay for the
information by spending quality time with a Drummond brother. You
have to answer honestly and I have to believe you or the deal is
off."

"Just say it MJ, or I’ll call off the deal
myself."

"Okay, here it is. You almost had sex with
Alex. What I want to know is..." she faltered. It sounded so crazy.
"What I want to know is, if you actually had had sex with him, if
Sebastian’s trick had worked and you guys had gone the whole way,
would you still have married Sebastian? That’s my question."

An honest answer?
Alison thought.
Honesty?
The events raced through
her head again as vivid as though it had all happened yesterday. It
was rare that she thought about that night, but the images and
feelings came flooding back in an instant. Her heart beat faster
and she inhaled sharply.

"God yes." She whispered into the phone.
"That night was incredible, like nothing I’ve ever experienced
before."

MJ pressed the phone to her chest while the
response sank in. She put the phone back to her ear.

"No way." She said. "I thought you wouldn’t
speak about it because you were traumatized. Because Sebastian was
low enough to trick you."

"That night blew my mind. Don’t you ever
breathe a word to anyone. Do you hear me MJ? No one. Don’t even
think about it in your own head."

"I won’t. Not a word. Not a thought. You can
trust me."

"Why did you want to know that anyway?
What’s going on with you over there in New York City?"

"Nothing. I just… it’s been a mystery to me
all this time. I’m just trying to understand it, that’s all."

"Okay. So now you know. Don’t ever ask me
about it again. Now for your part of the bargain. When will I
pencil you in to meet Josh?"

"I've got to go Ally."

"MJ! MJ?"

She had already hung up.

Alison called back immediately but it went
through to voicemail.

Somehow the revelation that her friend had
not only not been damaged by the experience but had exulted in it
was absolutely shocking to MJ. An inexplicable flush of desire went
through her.

Alison had been the most straight-laced of
the three of them, the most sexually inexperienced and most
conservative, but somehow she had gone far beyond her own ability
to accept… to accept what? MJ couldn’t put into words what it was
that was having such a profound effect on her.

Why did she care so much? Why was she
panting as though she had just sprinted 100 meters?

Blake and Adam.

She thought of the two men
who had taken over her world and invaded her dreams in the last two
days.
Oh my god. Stop it, MJ. Get a hold
of yourself.

She gathered her things together and headed
home from the internet café. She needed to put her dildo into
action and get this nonsense out of her system before her two
hunky, horny, and sexy roommates got home. She needed to take the
damn edge off this thing before she ended up doing something she
might regret for the rest of her life.

She hurried home as fast as she could.

Chapter Thirty

Adam woke up tired again and with boner like an
iron girder in his shorts. He hadn't slept well at all. He loved
the idea of being next to MJ each night, just knowing that she was
there within reach and hoping that something would happen. But it
was also a kind of torture. In his more lurid fantasies, he
imagined himself waking up in the middle of the night to find her
on top of him, his engorged prong embedded deep inside her as she
rode him senseless. His last thoughts before finally drifting off
to sleep at night were of her. The sweet, sexy voice, the sumptuous
red hair, and not to be forgotten, her heavenly rack.

His first thoughts in the morning were
mostly of her insanely attractive ass and today was no different.
His rolled over, opened his eyes and there it was. He gave a short
gasp. As though his morning wood wasn’t hard enough already.

He came up onto one elbow and took full
advantage of the view. Her partially exposed body lay inches away
from him. His eyes travelled the exquisite line of her ribcage,
followed the graceful descent of her abdomen and then plunged to
her pubic mound and sexy underwear.

"Oh my God." He said softly.

He reached into his pants but then stopped
himself. He would have to get out of the room fast before she woke
up. He covered her up with a blanket before he left. No sense
giving Blake any cause for concern or undue lust if he should
somehow poke his head inside the bedroom door.

He left the apartment on a cloud of love and
desire for the next moment he would be in her intoxicating presence
again. As much as he would have loved to spend Saturday morning
with her, serving her breakfast, getting to know her better, and
generally prepping her for mind-blowing sex within the next 24 to
48 hours (max), he had a lot of hustling to do today. He was flat
broke, up to his neck in debt even, and he had to figure out some
way of getting the cash together to wine and dine the girl he had
fallen for.

He arrived at the cycle shop where he had
bought his second-hand bike the day before.

"Hey buddy, what's up?" The owner recognized
him. "Problem with the bike?"

"Naw, bike’s cool, I just don't need it
anymore."

"Is that so?"

"I'd like to return it, if I may, and get a
refund."

"You just said there was no problem with
it."

"There isn't, but I need the money for
something else."

Ten minutes later, he left the shop on foot
with $434 in his hand. He had no idea how he would work on Monday
morning, but at least he could take his potential future wife out
on a date.

His phone rang. It was Blake.

"God damn it." He hissed. He didn't feel
like speaking to his landlord and main love rival, but he knew
Blake. If he wanted something, he wouldn’t give in until he got it.
He was relentless. Better to take the call and get it over with
than to provoke him further by blowing it off.

"Hey dude, what is it?" He tried to sound
friendly.

"Don't bullshit me, you asshole." Joshua
snarled.

"All I did was say hello, dude."

"Don't 'dude' me, you double crossing piece
of shi--"

"Whoa! Hold on there bro--"

"You're lucky you still have a roof over
your head. You can thank MJ for that. Now here's the deal: we all
go out tonight. All three of us. We give MJ a chance to decide
between the two of us."

Adam looked at the four hundred bucks in his
hand. If Blake wanted to go out, that usually meant he was picking
up the tab.

"Jesus Blake, couldn't you have called me
ten minutes ago?"

"What for?"

"I just sold my damn bike so I could... uh,
nothing. We go out and she picks between the two of us? Okay." Adam
smiled to himself. He was sure that MJ would pick him. Blake was
good-looking, but he was an arrogant asshole and MJ would never
choose someone like that over him.

"Just one thing though. Isn't it a bit
weird?"

"Yeah, it’s weird. I asked
you to give her a box and now I’m sharing her with you on a double
date. What’s
not
weird about that?"

"Just the two of us and her? Isn't there
someone else you can bring along to balance the genders a bit?"

"God damn it." Blake cursed. "I guess you're
right. I'll bring along my secretary. But don't tell her she’s my
date or you'll be homeless before desert arrives."

"Wouldn't dream of it dude. I always believe
in playing fair. Send me the details. I'll arrange it with MJ and
if she agrees, we'll meet you there."

"You better pray she agrees." Blake said.
Adam was talking like MJ was already his girlfriend and although he
wanted to reach down through the phone and tie a boson's knot in
Adam’s tongue, he decided to let it go.

After all, what did he really care? Once MJ
got to compare the two of them side-by-side, the choice would be
obvious. Adam was just an irresponsible kid, and there was
absolutely no way someone as wise, caring and mature as MJ would
pick a flake like that over him.

Chapter
Thirty-One

MJ arrived home and dashed to the bedroom to locate
and unpack her friend with the good vibrations. She had just found
it and was changing the batteries when she heard the front door
open.

God damn this
house!
She thought.

"MJ? Hey, MJ! Are you home?"

It was Adam.

Shit.
She struggled to get her live-in lover back into the box
again and out of sight.

Adam saw no sign of her in the living room,
so he went straight to the bedroom, knocked briefly and then
entered.

"MJ?"

MJ was on her knees on the floor. She was
still flustered but her tool was out of sight at least. Adam was
instantly concerned when he saw the agitated look on her face.

God, I hope she's okay. She's been through a
lot in the last couple of days.

"Are you okay?" He asked thoughtfully. "You
look a little anxious."

"I'm okay. What is it?"

"How would you like to go out tonight? Not
on a date or anything, because I know you said that there was
nothing going on here and of course there totally isn't. But you
know, just to let your hair down after the week we’ve both
had."

"I don't know, Adam. I don't want things to
get complicated--"

"They won't. Trust me. And here's why..." He
thought quickly, it would be as messy as hell, considering he and
Blake had been cockblocking each other like testosterone-fed
roosters to hold her attention for the last two days.

She waited. "Why not?"

She sounded impatient, which turned him on
enough to put a comfortable stretch in his Calvin Klein’s.
Impatient women always did it for him. Impatient in life and
impatient in the sack as well.

"Blake will be coming, too." He said.

It was a brainwave. Why not? He had wondered
how he would explain the double date things but why not use the
most complicated thing of all to make it all seem perfectly simple.
A classic ploy.

"Just the three of us?"

"No, ha, ha, no way. That would be kind of
weird, don't you think? He's got a date too, I mean, not a date,
just a friend from work who will be coming along. She's really
nice. You should meet her."

I should meet her
too.
He thought.

MJ watched his eyes as he fumbled his way
through the explanation. He was obviously bending over backwards to
take her out in the safest, most non-threatening way.

"I think you guys would really get along."
He added pointlessly. He watched the adorable woman in front
him.

Would she go for this double date thing? Why
the hell couldn't Blake just have buried himself in work all
weekend the way he usually did or maybe taken a long business trip
out to the West Coast.

"I really can't, Adam."

Shit, shit, shit,
he thought.

"I'd love to, but at the moment I'm short of
money until I can get a new place."

He breathed a sigh of relief. That was an
easy one.

"Don't even think about it. It’s my treat as
a thank you for being here. I'm really happy that you're here."

"I should be thanking you, Adam. Without
you, I'd be homeless."

"No way, I'm thrilled you're here. Blake
will pick us up at 8:00 tonight. It'll be nice and relaxed. Come
on, just say yes. Don't think about it, just do it. You need to
have some fun and your problems can wait until Monday morning."
Just like his own.

Crap. My bike.
Now that he knew Joshua would be footing most of
the bill for the night out, he needed to get back to the bike shop
before it closed and buy his bike back again. He kept the easy
smile on his face.

"Okay, I'd love to." MJ said. "But I'll keep
tabs and owe you on this one, okay?"

"Great. That you’re coming, I mean. But look
MJ, I have to hustle. I’ll see you at 8:00, okay?" He pecked her on
the cheek again before she could do anything.

God damn him!
She thought.

The thrill of contact with
her soft cheek coursed down through Adam’s body as he escaped out
the door.
Gotcha,
he thought.

MJ looked down at the box with her dildo and
then pushed it away. She could still feel the warm spot on her
cheek where he had pecked her. Somehow she just knew that even an
hour with Casanova in the bathtub wouldn't add up to half the
thrill of that light peck on the cheek he had casually laid upon
her.

Chapter
Thirty-Two

Adam returned to the shop and tried to buy his bike
back, but he already had less money than before and wanted to keep
at least $300 as backup for the big night out with MJ. As a result,
he ended up buying a piece of scrap that he would have to try and
fix up to be usable before Monday morning.

He stopped off at a buddy's house, borrowed
some clothes, dropped off his wreck of a bike, had a beer or two to
relax his nerves, and then headed back to his place. He didn't want
to be too early and annoy MJ if she was getting ready. On the other
hand, he didn't want to be too far behind Blake either.
