“Are you sure you want to send that?”

“Yes, it will piss her of. She is a woman! If a woman emailed me that, it would infuriate me and my judgement would be clouded. No matter how smart you are, if you get a bitchy message of someone, the claws come out. The saying, ‘hell has no fury like a woman’s scorn.’ Well something along those lines, but you get what I mean and it’s true.”

“Ok, sent! Now we just have to wait. You think we’ll have to wait long?”

“I don’t know, what shall we do to pass the time?” He raises his eyebrow and looks at the bed.

“Well I could think of something. I’m only playing, I know you’re not that type of girl and I have nothing but respect for you.”

“I know, shame we don’t have cluedo, we so could have played that.”

“I have not played that in years, you would always win. I swear you always cheated.”

“I never once cheated; I was just amazing at the game. You were crap.” A pop up comes up on the laptop, that instantly gets our attention.

“Looks like we didn’t have to wait long after all, let’s read it.”

:
How cleaver Danni! Emailing me from another address, I like it. I know you are tracking me; the whole point in emailing me, was to do that right? I’m not that stupid. I’ll save you the hassle. Meet me in an hour at this address 44 Grove road. It’s not far from the hotel you’re staying at. Yes, I know where you are and yes, I know you have been stalking me. Looks like I weren’t the only one obsessed. See you later.

From S.H

“Damn, she knew I was watching her, she is always ahead of me, for fuck sake.”

“Well, at least you know where to find her and you’ve got time to map out a plan. You need to be careful, as this could be a trap. It seems a bit off, if you get me. If she knew you were following her, then she could have mapped this all out and brought you here for a reason. You did say everything happens for a reason right? Therefore, there is something here. You need to be smart.”

“You’re right, ok, how about this. I go by myself.” He interrupts me again.

“Hell no! That’s exactly what they want; you’ll be playing right into their hands.”

“Will you stop interrupting me and let me finish. I know it’s what they want, but this could be my chance to get them and record them. We don’t know if she knows you’re with me and I’ve told you everything. So if I go there and something does happen, you have the mouth to tell people. The police, my brother, anyone, I’ll record them and send you it by text, it’s a good plan. I bet you’re wishing you never bumped into me now.” I joke,

“Surprisingly no, I’m happy I did and to help you with this. I have nothing better to do and suppose that plan is ok. If it were your brother and I, he’d have us barge in and go for the kill. At least this plan is smart. Do you at least want me to walk you to the address? I live around here I know my way around.”

“No, I don’t, I can’t have them seeing you, then they’d know what I’m up to.”

“This is reckless, Danni! At least take my phone, its smaller than your one. As you can see, compared to your Samsung galaxy, my iphone looks like a baby; it’ll make it easier to hide. You know how to work one?”

“Yes, I recently just got rid of my iphone and upgraded; it was pissing me of, always crashing, so I decided to go with something different. Turns out, the Samsung is just as bad.”

“You gave up the iphone? You’re a strange one Shaw.”

“Indeed I am, now let’s hurry and get this over with.” He grabs me and gives me the biggest squeeze and then grips my face and pulls it towards him and lays his lips on mine to kiss me. I freeze in shock, what do I do? And without realizing, my arms are around his neck and returning the kiss. I pull away, oh shit. “What are you doing?”

“Sorry, spur of the moment thing, if anything happens to you, I just wanted to make sure I got my last moments with you perfect and reconcile from our past.”

“That is cheesy and silly, because I’m coming back and we’ll talk about that.”

“Admit Shaw, it felt good!”

“It did, nice way to say goodbye don’t you think?  Anyway, thanks for this, I appreciate it.” I give him one more last hug and leave the hotel room, feeling confused, scared and angry, not knowing what is going to happen, am I doing the right thing? Or am I leading myself into a nasty situation, I guess there is only one way to find out.

Chapter Fourteen

I’ve turned up to an abandoned building. This cannot be right. 44 Grove road, it says it is. Suppose if they are hiding, this would be the best place. How dirty though, It is dark and I’m heading into an abandoned building, yeah, this is some sort of horror movie this. Maybe I should just head back.
Don’t be stupid, Danni! You have come this far, don’t lose your balls now.
My subconscious screams at me.

I grab the handle, which is freezing. I push it down and the door opens with a loud creak. It’s dark in the hall way. I have to find a light switch and luckily I find one. Please say there is some electric in this place. I switch it on and I was wrong, it’s not abandoned, it’s pretty clean, probably up to rent and people to view. On the left, is one oak door, I open it and no one is in here, it’s just an empty room. I carry on walking down the hallway, to where I come to yet another room. I walk in, and switch the light and look straight in front of me.

“You!” I snap, it’s Phillip, and I launch at him. Trying to punch him and kick him. He blocks everyone and grabs me in a hold. He has   both of my hands around my back and puts his head on my shoulder from behind.

“Easy pet, remember, I taught you everything you know, so you know this is useless.”

“Exactly, so you should know better.” Before he notices his foot in the way, I stomp on it, causing him to loosen his grip and able to get free, as he hops on one foot, I then kick him in the shins.

“Ouch, you bitch. Look, you wanted to talk; well now you’re here, so talk.”

“I wanted Sabrina, not you, you cold blooded murder.”

“She send her love, you really think she’d come out from hiding? Please, you should know better. What do you want pet?” I already have the phone ready in my pocket to hit record; I put my hand in and press the record button.

“I want answers, I trusted you, I let you in my home and Jared trusted you with my life, and for what? To be betrayed by you for some skanky bitch.”

“Hey, she isn’t a skanky bitch. She has every right to be pissed at him. She would have done this to anyone who had Jared’s love. Unfortunately, it turned out to be you. How could you love someone like him? With him around you wouldn’t look at anyone else.”

“As in you? Why would I give my attention to someone who would betray me?”

“You didn’t always know that though, we spent a lot of time together. Do you really think I would spend all that time training you and risk my job if I was that bad? Yes, I’ve worked with Sabrina for years because that’s where my loyalty stands. I stuck with Jared, so I could keep her updated on everything. Plus, the money was good.”

“Why are you so loyal to Sabrina? How did this happen? For what I know is, they both where crazy high on the alcohol back then, she wasn’t even worth it.”

“She was always miserable, she’d talk to me when Jared wasn’t around, to say how stuck she felt in that relationship and he can’t give her what she needed.”

“They got married; surely you’re not that gullible.”

“Yes they did, she did it because he had money, if they divorced, she is entitled to half of what he has. It was perfect. Therefore, she went ahead with that and that is when she met Nick, Jared’s brother. Initially, he just wanted to screw her, to get to his little brother, but he eventually felt for her.”

“You knew? You fucking ass.”

“After what Jared did to her, she was in a bad way. I got to her first before Andrew, and she could barely speak. She told me to lie. Jared thought she was dead, so keep it like that. So when Andrew turned up, I told him she gone and I’d sort it. He is that loyal to Jared he was happy to believe me and he wanted to get back to help him. Jared ran off thinking she was dead, that is how much of a coward you lover is, he didn’t have the guts to go the police or anything. He deserves everything he gets. Once Sabrina was back on her feet, she vowed that she would get justice for what he did. That man got everything he could ever wish for, built on his dark secret, because he felt guilty. Please, he needs to pay.”

“He went by it all the wrong way, I get that. What I don’t get is, why didn’t she just go the police?”

“She thought that would be too easy for him, she wants him to suffer, prison would be too easy.”

“I understand you both wanting his head on a stick, but me? I’ve done nothing to you guys.”

“You already know that answer, why even ask. You know you’re the love of his life, it makes perfect sense to go after you.”

“What was Carl then? He didn’t deserve to die, he was a pure heart. What you and Sabrina did to him was horrible and that will live with you both for the rest of your lives.”

“Carl was just a pawn in it all to get to you, for what it’s worth, I didn’t want too. I knew what he meant to you and am sorry for that, but we had to break you and snapping his neck was one of them.”

“Wow, is that remorse I see in your eyes?”

“Yeah it is, I’m not lying when I say I’m sorry but it was either do that, or it would back fire on me.”

“Aww, are you scared of a little girl?” I taunt him.

“You have no idea, pet.”

“Oh right, yeah! There is someone else behind it all, yes I know there is someone else behind this, Dillon told me.”

“You went to see him? That Wessel opened his mouth, he is not going to like this.”

“He had no choice, he needed to tell me everything or he’d be made someone’s bitch. He then spilled everything. Anyway, cut the crap, where is she?” Before he can speak, he shows a smile and a voice comes from behind me.

“Well, I’m right here, Darling.”I turn around and there she is. I want to go over and rip her apart. She looks as fake as I remember, bad tan, bad hair, awful dress sense. My blood starts to boil with the hatred I have for her and I can’t hold my anger in anymore and I launch for her.

“Sabrina, you bitch. You will pay for what you have done. As I lay in to her, Phillip grabs me from behind. “Get off me, Phillip, the bitch deserves it.”

“Calm down pet, you really think I’m going to let you hurt her? I’m going to let you go, don’t do that again.” He lets go, but makes sure he stays behind me, in case I launch for her again. I glare at Sabrina; she wipes the corner of her lip with the back of her hand where I draw blood on her.

“Feisty.”

“I knew this was a trap, so whatever you have planned for me, get it over with, I’ve got what I needed.”

“And that is?” Sabrina asks,

“I pull out the phone and show them.”

“I reordered all of this and look.” I face it towards her and press send to my phone.” “I’ve just sent it? I got a confession out of you, well Phillip of course. So it looks like you’ll be another man down.”

“Pet you idiot, I also admitted to what Jared did, so if that goes to the police, not only do I get sent down but so does your beloved.”

“You think I care? It’s a small price to pay to get justice for Carl and you’re also forgetting, there is obviously someone who I’ve just sent that to and no, it’s no one you know and that person knows everything, who I was meeting and where. They know she shot me, so as soon as he gives that in to the police. Then he will inform them that Sabrina shot me and will send them straight here. Therefore, you both will go down. It’s a win, win situation.” Phillip grabs the phone off me, to look.

“You sent it to yourself? Did you really think we’d let you leave here?”

“Yes, it’s my phone, but the person who posses it, is probably on his way to the station by now.  I knew I weren’t going to be leaving from here, I don’t care what happens to me, all I care about is you two going down.” Phillip nods and starts typing on the phone.

“Well, whoever it is on the other side has just been told not to send and as he thinks it’s you, am sure he’ll do as he’s told. Nice try pet.”

“Oh well, it doesn’t matter. He still has all the information he needs.”

“Yes, that may be true Danni, but it’s all hearsay without prove and you have got nothing to go on.” Sabrina hauls,

“Maybe, I’ll guess we’ll see. Now if you’re done talking, kill me already, I’m not scared of you two and if you both think I’ll give you the pleasure of showing any sort of fear, you’ve got another thing coming, so hurry up.”

“We’re not going to kill you Danni, Phillip won’t, he has a soft spot for you and like you said, I don’t like my hands getting dirty. Plus, we have bigger plans and your death won’t help. Well not yet anyway.” Oh, I wish they would get it over with, I may not be showing it, but every inch of me is feeling frozen with fear and my mind is racing with all the questions. What are they going to do with me? Am I going to die? What if they go and look for Tyler and kill him for knowing too much? Or even worse, what if they go and target Andi again?
Deep breath Danni! Be strong. Don’t give them the pleasure in seeing your worry.
My subconscious says.

“If you’re not going to kill me then, what are you going to do to me? Are you going to let me go? Or are we just going to stand around and have such a heartfelt chat?” My sarcasm got the best of me.

I look towards the door trying to figure out the best way to escape from here, can I make it? Suppose there is one way to find out, no harm in trying.

Before she can say anything, I tackle her to the floor, and run out of the room we were in.

“Go after her.” I hear Sabrina shout to Phillip. I run down the hallway hearing his steps. I can make it. I run to the front door and as I open it and go to run out, their stands a man and he stops me on my way. I cannot make his face out in the dark.

“Going somewhere?” He speaks; his voice is calm and deep. Oh, crap, what have I got myself into. He starts walking closer towards me, so I take a step back each time and I have nowhere to go as Phillip is behind me.

“Sorry, she just shot off, right before our eyes and tackled Sabrina down.”

“It’s ok; take her back into the other room.” Phillip picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. I am so dead. Why didn’t I listen to Tyler? I was stupid to think I could take them down on my own.

As he brings me back into the room, he puts me down yet again.

“Don’t do that again, Pet.” I roll my eyes at him and fold my arms pissed off at myself.

“So, I’m a prisoner now? And this is supposed to be reality?” I look straight towards this strange man; he’s tall, wearing a navy blue suit. Brown short hair, deep brown eyes, tanned, has nice a stubble, well groomed, he is actually hot.
Seriously, Danni, you are being held captive by crazy people and all you can say is how hot the main person is? Focus stupid.
“So let me guess, you’re the master mind behind these to knuckle heads, the way they make you out to be, I expected it’d be someone bigger, scruffy, bald head, a lot more scarier then you are. Anyway, I know there issue and there deal. Do you fancy sharing with me what yours is?” He smiles,

“She has a right mouth on her, don’t she? I can see why he is in love with her. I don’t care for your thoughts, nor do I want them. I have my reasons, which I don’t care to share with you, so be silent.”

“Sorry, I can’t, it’s not in my vocabulary. Like I told your idiotic freaks over there, they don’t scare me and neither will you. I’ve been through hell, and I’m still standing and I certainly won’t be silenced just because you tell me too. You may all have me stuck here, so all I can do is entertain myself with my own voice, whether you like it or not.” He smiles again, but you can see in his face how vindictive he is. Before I know it, he grabs me by the throat and pins me up against the wall. His grip gets harder, and I can’t breathe and I’m trying my best to grasp some air but I can’t and I can feel my face burning red.

“Well, if this is the only way I can get you to be quite, so be it. Now this is unpleasant, we could have prevented all of this, if you just done what I asked. You do have luscious green eyes by the way, it’d be a pity if they where to pop out from your eye sockets.” He speaks so calmly saying all of this, I know these types of men and they are the worst kind, you can just tell.

I’m looking straight in to his brown eyes and I see nothing, no remorse, no soul, just completely black. I’ve seen this look in Dillon’s eyes, but somehow this man in front of me is worse. “Now, have I made myself clear? I’m going to let go of my grip now, please be quite.” He lets go and I struggle to catch my breath back, I cup my throat with my hands and my throat is burning, that means its turning red from his grip.

“Do you really think beating me up will work? Well you’re wrong. I’ve been there and done that, I’ve wore the shirt. So trust me when I say, that I can hack it.”
Shut up, Danni you fool.
I choose to ignore my subconscious.

“Does this girl have a death wish?” He turns and asks Phillip.

“I don’t think so; I just think she likes the sound of her own voice. I’ve been around her for a while and she just never learns, you could probably beat her black and blue and she’ll still open her mouth. Sometimes it’s just best to let her be and just zone out the sound of her voice.”

“Well if you, you tall, mysterious, handsome man wants to keep me from my will, at least give me a name. I like to go on a first date, knowing who the other person is.” I snap. He giggles to himself and walks closer towards me and he makes sure his face is in line with mine. The tip of his nose is touching mine. He places his right hand on my left cheek, his hand is long and takes up the whole of my cheek, I jump at his touch where his smooth hand is placed and he uses his thumb to caress the bottom of my lip. I shake my head away from him but he uses his other hand, to make me re-face him.
