“Why do you think I want to take you to bed? I don’t plan on leaving all night. We can order room service, but I’ve got a list of things I want to do with you.”
Sadie blushed, “I barely know you.”
“What better way to get acquainted,” he winked and then tugged at her hand, leading her to the bedroom.
The couple lay breathless on the bed, naked and exhausted after a wild romp. “What just happened?” Sadie asked, her mind spinning.
“Glad I’m not the only one that felt the earth move,” Simon answered, and then pulled the naked woman closer.
“I need food,” she smiled. “I demand nutrition,” she giggled.
Simon ran his hand along the length of Sadie’s torso, letting his hand rest on her hip. “Then the queen shall be fed,” he said. Rolling towards the nightstand, he grabbed the room service guide so they could flip through and decide what to order.
“Mmm, turkey club, no tomatoes,” she started, “and a cold beer.”
“Really?” He laughed, “That’s what I usually get too.”
“Fun,” she grinned. She liked being around him more than she wanted to. This was a mistake, and yet she couldn’t untangle the mess she was making. She wanted to stay, wanted to be around him, and needed to feel him penetrating her again. She hadn’t felt that kind of spark and magic with someone in a long time – and while it was bad news to play with him, she wanted another taste – just one more.
When the phone rang, she rolled to answer it. Simon was in the bathroom, so Sadie grabbed it, “Hello?”
His voice was tense, “I see you made it,” Bobby said.
“Yeah, we’re here.” Suddenly she was slapped back to reality.
“Is he around?”
“He’s in the bathroom.”
“Sadie, never mind…”
“What?”
“He can’t know about us, that we…” he trailed off.
“It never happened.” She answered.
“Good, I’m glad we see eye to eye. Tell him to call me.”
“Will do,” she said and then hung up the phone. It was different with Bobby. She had no interest in him, wasn’t attracted to the guy, but he was the key to the tour. He was her “in”, and she did what she had to do. Thank goodness he didn’t want more. It was only awkward some of the time, but there were no feelings on either side. It was a trade, and they both knew it. There were no illusions.
Simon came out of the bathroom, “Who was on the phone?”
“It was Bobby; he wants you to give him a shout.”
“Later, I’m hungry,” was his only other response. “Hope the food gets here soon.”
After the grub finally arrived, they sat in bed talking and eating. Sadie liked him more than she thought she would. He wasn’t who she’d pictured. He was actually pretty normal underneath – and more guy next door than rock star. That threw her for a loop. She wanted to think of him as arrogant, childish, and difficult to be around, but honestly when he let his guard down, he was actually sweet and funny. Sadie almost didn’t want the night to end.
“Did you save room for dessert?” Simon grinned and pulled his temporary lover on top of him. “Sit on me,” he coaxed, wanting her to ride his cock so he could watch as her breasts bounced and swayed side to side as he thrust from below.
Sleeping here was going to be a mistake, she knew it. She should get her own room. One night, that’s what she promised him, but nothing more. The sooner she was in her own room, the better. In fact, the bus would be here tomorrow, and then she’d be able to hide in her little corner of the world until the next gig.
“Simon,” Sadie said, breathing ragged as he thrust from below. “That feels so good,” she continued, “but I need to go after this.”
“Where are you going in such a hurry,” he said, slamming his hips into her. “Shhh, stop talking.”
Leaning in closer, she laid on his chest, lifting her hips. Their lips met, and Simon’s pumping slowed down. Sweet, soft kisses turned to passionate ones. “Sadie,” he whispered between them, “stay with me tonight.”
“Just tonight,” she muttered as they finished their heated act.
Curling into his arms, the sheets tangled
in their legs, Simon started to sing softly. Listening to him serenade her, his words soft, his strong arms wrapped around her, Sadie realized she didn’t want to leave his side.
When the rest of the band arrived, it was back to business as usual, and setting up and getting ready for the next show was the name of the game. Sadie found her way back to her bus, and curled up with her laptop. Checking into the accounts, she tried to take her mind off the night before lying in Simon’s arms and listening to him sing to her. He kept crossing her mind, and the distraction made it difficult to get any work done.
As the show started, she found herself on the side of the stage, out of site, but in listening range. Watching him work the audience, she realized she’d grown a bigger crush on the rock star, and as silly as it was she hoped he enjoyed their night together as much as she did. She knew she’d just be another notch on his belt, and he’d be back to the groupies, bedding women left and right, after all that’s what rock stars do. Besides, it’s not like she could afford to fall for the guy, she had bigger plans, and that included taking the tour money and running. Feelings could not factor into things – it would only cause problems. She’d worked too hard to get this far, and Simon was the last thing she needed to be thinking about.
As the band brought the show to a close, Sadie sneaked off the stage, so she wouldn’t run into the star. Mooning over him wouldn’t do either of them any favors. Slipping down the hallway, she was out of sight and out of mind before he could see her.
It took her by surprise when he came looking for her later. Shouldn’t he be off with a teen tart getting another piece of ass?
“Hey,” he said leaning against the door frame. “Where did you run off to? Did you see the show?”
“Yeah,” she steeled herself, not wanting to give into the rush of feelings that were sneaking in when she looked at his face. “I had some things to do.”
“Are you busy now?”
“Umm, actually I am,” Sadie stood and gathered her things, “I need to do some work, if you don’t mind.”
“Why are you running away?” He was direct, not letting her pass as she went to swoop under his arm with her laptop.
“I’m not running.”
His arms wrapped down and around the woman, who felt the heat rushing to her cheeks. “Simon, I can’t, okay. I need to go.”
He looked at Sadie, “Okay.” He didn’t know what was going on, but he wasn’t giving up that easy. He had his pick of groupies, but for some reason, his heart led him back to the woman on his tour.
“Dinner?” He called out behind her as she fled down the hallway.
Turning to face him, “Fine, dinner.” What was she doing? She wanted to see him, be in the same room with him, spend time with him, kiss him again – and yet she desperately needed to stay away.

Simon put a call in with Bobby, “I’m going out for a bit. Don’t let the buses roll without me. What time are we pulling out?”
“You’ve got about three hours, where you going?”
“To grab a bite to eat, I need some fresh air.”
“I’ll go with you,” he started.
Simon cut him off, “Not tonight, Bobby. I have a date.”
“Sure thing, Simon,” he said understanding, thinking he was taking a groupie with him.
When Sadie and Simon left the building, they snuck out the back and had a car take them to a little bistro the driver recommended. Simon told him what they were looking for, and he delivered. A small Italian café named “Roberto’s” was just beyond the stadium.
They were shown to a corner table, out of the way, as the driver arranged when he told them who he was bringing in. The rock star was getting name recognition now, so people made allowances.
Sitting cozy and enjoying a glass of wine, Sadie and Simon got to know each other a little better. Sadie heard her voice before she ever saw the woman.
“Julie? Julie Monroe?” Her voice was way too loud for the small romantic atmosphere of the café.
Sadie cringed hearing her name and tried to turn away, but it was too late. Mary Alice, her long lost friend saw her across the room and came running over. She was terrified she’d ruin everything, and played it as cool as she could, her heart pounding feverishly, trying to burst out of her chest.
“Julie, oh my gosh, I knew that was you!”
Simon turned to look at Sadie, with curiosity.
“I’m sorry, I think you have the wrong person,” Sadie started. She knew damn well she couldn’t pull this off, but she was going to try.
“Julie, what are you talking about, it’s me Mary Alice!” She squealed. It was obvious she’d had a few glasses of wine herself.
Sadie looked down, not wanting to make eye contact. She was terrified her fear would show.
“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but I’m not who you think I am. My name is Sadie.”
“Sadie, Schmadie – Julie, I was with you when you got your tattoo,” she said pointing to her wrist. “Look,” she said, precariously balancing
and holding up her foot, “we got matching ones.”
“Could you please leave?” Sadie remained as calm as she could. “This is some weird coincidence, but you’re disturbing our meal.”
“Why are you acting so weird? Oh my gosh, are you…” she caught sight of Simon. “Simon Thrasher? Oh my gosh, I love your song about sugar,” she started gushing. “Can I have your autograph?”
“Is there a problem?” The host walked over to the commotion.
Sadie swallowed hard, “This woman is disturbing our meal, it’s a case of mistaken identity. Would you ask her to leave, she seems determined to stay.”
Mary Alice looked hurt, “Julie, what’s going on?”
Sadie found her voice, and firmly stated, “I am not Julie. You have the wrong person. Please leave.” She hated treating her old friend that way, but if she blew her cover, her gig was up and all the money she’d worked so hard for would slip between her fingers. When it came down to it, she chose the cash over her friend. She had to; it’s just the way it was.
“Ma’am, you’re going to have to leave, you’re disrupting everyone’s dining experience.” At this point people were all looking over to see what the commotion was about.
When things finally quieted down, and after Mary Alice was escorted from the restaurant, Simon turned and looked at the girl beside him.
“Who is Julie Monroe,” his face was made of stone. “She was telling the truth, but you’re lying. Why were you so desperate to get her out of here? You told me on the plane about your tattoo and your friend Mary Alice, and yet I know you as Sadie Mustang. What’s going on, and who are you exactly?”
Sadie looked up at the ceiling, steeling herself, not wanting to cry. “I wanted a fresh start, okay? I was in a bad relationship. My ex beat the crap out of me, so I had my name changed legally to hide from him.” It was a lie. “He stalked me for a long time after we broke up. The cops couldn’t do anything to help me.” Another lie. “I filed the paperwork so he had to stay away, but even then he got too close, I just didn’t feel safe. I had to hide. She’s a part of my past and knows him.”
She was good on her feet. It was all a big, fat lie, but she could tell Simon was buying it, all of it. She couldn’t very well tell him the truth. She shouldn’t be having dinner with him anyway.
“Listen, I don’t have much of an appetite, won’t don’t we get this to go,” she finished.
“You’re safe with me,” he wrapped his arm around Sadie, feeling protective after hearing about her scumbag ex-boyfriend. “I won’t let anyone near you, and if he tries to touch you…”
“You don’t have to do this. Besides, Simon,” she hesitated, “you and me, this could never work.”
He stared at the woman before him. “We should get this to go,” and then said nothing else.
Why was he doing this? Why was he falling for a woman he barely knew? He’d spent a little bit of time with her, but something drew him in. He wanted to be around her, and regardless of his rock star status, she made his heart race. It was simply chemistry – and they had it. Sure all the girls waiting in the hallway were nice for a quick blow job or sex, but he never felt anything, just an orgasm – but never any feelings. He hadn’t felt like this in a while. He couldn’t get this girl out of his mind lately.

“Julie Monroe has a record,” he said flatly. Standing in the wings of his next show, he left Sadie’s jaw gaping as he walked by.
Her gig was up, she’d lose it all. It was too late, and he checked up on her. Did he tell anyone, did Bobby know? She turned away, about to run out before more details slipped out. She’d miss out on the big gamble at the end, but she’d tucked away enough over the last few months to have a nice, tidy nest egg. It was better to get out now, before it was too late.
As she started to turn away, Simon called out to her. “There’s somebody special I want to ask to come out to the stage,” he started. Sadie’s eyes got big, she was trapped. She had the urge to run, but didn’t want to draw attention to herself. She’d play his game, and the second she was free, she’d run like hell and not look back.
“Sadie, can you join me on stage?” He turned to look at her standing behind the curtain. “Ladies and gentleman, this is a very special night. For the first time ever, I’m going to introduce you to my
new girlfriend.” The crowd let out a roar and cheers went up.
