He’s looking down at his
phone and doesn’t even see me when he passes. I feel my phone
vibrate in my pocket. I’m guessing that’s who he was
texting. I walk up behind him and wrap my arms around his midsection,
breathing in the smell that is Josh. He turns around, stunned at
first, and then lifts me up and wraps my legs around his midsection.

I feel like we’re in a movie
where lovers haven’t seen each other for ages and then end up
groping in an airport. I always laughed when I watched those kinds of
movies. I never understood it, but now I do. No one else exists for
me, just Josh and his beautiful blue eyes.

He kisses me just how I need to be
kissed, hard and passionate. I need the reassurance that it wasn’t
just me that has missed him like crazy, that he missed me also. My
body feels like a shot of electricity just passed through it. Our
mouths break apart, but he doesn’t let me go.

“Surprise,” I tell him
and he gets his trademark smirk.

“It’s a very lovely
surprise, but I really wish I hadn’t seen you until we were at
your place because now I can’t put you down. Someone has missed
you terribly, too.”

I laugh. I try to get back on the
ground, but he grabs me tighter and won’t let me budge.

“Josh, you can’t carry
me. Put me down.”

“Like hell I can’t.
And just so you know, I don’t think we’re gonna make it
home before I devour you.”

He starts walking while still
carrying me. I’m protesting, but he just smirks and keeps on
walking. I can see the looks we’re getting from all the people
around us. They must think we’re crazed lunatics.

“Please, put me down,”
I beg.

“Fine, but you’re
going to have to make it up to me,” he says with a wicked gleam
in his eyes.

“Okay, just put me down,
please. People are staring,” I tell him self-consciously.

“They can look all they
want. They’re just jealous.”

With that, he finally releases me,
and takes hold of my hand. We collect his bag and get in the car to
drive home. We’re halfway home when he tells me to pull over.

“Why? What’s wrong?”
I ask him, worried.

“Well, I don’t want an
accident, so you might want to pull over.”

I listen to him and pull up off
the highway and into a park area. It’s dark so I can’t
make out his facial expressions, but feel him unbuckle my seatbelt
and then he pulls me over to him.

“I’m really glad
you’re wearing a mini skirt,” he says in a low sexy
voice.

“Oh yeah, why’s that?”

“So I can do this.”

He inserts a finger and I squeal
in surprise. He begins rubbing my clit while kissing me. I’m
breathing heavily, and before I know it, I orgasm around his finger.
He lifts me up, undoes his pants, and then slowly slides me on top of
him. I can’t help but scream out his name while I’m
riding him. I feel like I have all the power over this man, and I
love it.

We finally make it back in one
piece, but Josh had to drive the rest of the way because my legs were
too weak.

Josh has been here for a week now
and we have had a great time enjoying each other’s company. The
boys have only barged in on us once. When they found
out Josh was staying
here for a while, they haven’t been back. But they’re
always calling and texting to check up on me. After every shift at
the hospital, Josh has brought me a rose. It’s so sweet. He
really is trying, and it’s making me fall in love even more.

We haven’t said those words
to each other yet, but there have been a few heated moments when I
have nearly let them slip. Same with Josh, but I think he is afraid
I’m going to do a runner if he says them too soon. He is due to
leave again tomorrow. I’m not sure when he will be back, but I
know it’s going to be worse than last time. So I have made a
decision, and have decided to tell him tonight. When I get home, Josh
is cooking dinner. I wrap my arms around him and breathe him in.

“I missed you today,”
I whisper to him.

“Probably not as much as I
missed you.”

“Hey, so I’ve decided
to give the hospital notice and apply for a transfer to move back
home,” I just blurt out.

“What? Really?”

“Yes, really.”

“Would you consider moving
in with me?”

“I’m not sure. Is that
something you want?” I’m not sure if that’s moving
too fast so I’m a bit surprised he even asked the question.

“Hell yeah, if you’re
going to be that close to me, I want you in my bed every night.”

“That’s a big step,
Josh. Are you sure we’re ready for that?”

“Yes, of course I am. If I
thought you would agree to marry me today, I would ask you. But I
know you’re not, so I’ll take what I can get.”

Wow, marriage. I didn’t know
he was thinking that far ahead. I haven’t even considered
marriage.

“Okay, I’ll move in
with you.” I practically lived with him before, so instead of
going backwards I decide to move forward. I hope that I won’t
regret my decision.

“God, you make me happy,”
he tells me with a huge smile.

I’ve sorted everything out
at work and gave my notice. Josh has been gone for three weeks now.
He asks me every day when I am coming. I’ve told him not to
tell anyone yet, as I want to surprise them. He agreed, but said that
he has told them all that we’re in a serious relationship
again, and their usual response was “about time.” That
made me laugh.

I’ve told my cousins I’m
moving and they tried to convince me to stay, but they understand I
want to be where Josh is. They agreed to come visit, but I have to
“hook them up with some fine babes.”

I finally arrive in Brisbane and
am anxious to see Josh and everyone else. I’ve missed them all
terribly. I spot Josh straight away, and as soon as he gets in
hearing distance, I warn him, “Don’t you dare carry me,
Josh Richards.”

“But, Sash, you know I got
to. I need to feel that ass,” is his sexy reply.

“Later, when we’re in
private, please.”

Chapter 26

Josh’s house is still as
beautiful as I remember. All my stuff from my apartment that I wanted
to bring with me has arrived. Josh has giving me free reign to do
what I please. He says I need to make it feel as if it’s my
home as much as it is his.

He has kept me huddled up at home
and not allowed me to leave for three days now, but I think it’s
time I go and face the real world. I need to go see my sister and
friends. As I’m getting ready, he comes into the bedroom with a
piece of paper and sits down on the bed.

“I want you to sign these so
this house is as much yours as it is mine,” he says from out of
nowhere.

He slides the papers over to me
and I realise it’s the deed to the house. I look up at him and
see he is watching me carefully, waiting for a reaction.

“How much money do I need to pay for half of
this?”

“Nothing, Sasha, I own the
house outright; and whatever is mine is yours. I just thought you
would feel more secure in knowing if we had a fight, neither of us
could kick the other out.”

“I’m not signing that
without giving you some kind of payment, Josh. I didn’t pay my
way to have this house, and I don’t accept charity.”

“It’s not charity,
Sasha. Whatever is mine is yours. It’s as simple as that. As
for payment, you give that every day by being with me.”

“I don’t know. I’m
going to have to think about this.”

We head out that afternoon to go
to Adam’s. Everyone is there to celebrate Kasey turning two. We
pull up and I’m a bit nervous to see everyone. The last time I
saw them was under bad circumstances. I hope today won’t bring
those bad memories back, and we can start making good ones.

“Oh, my God! What are you
doing here?” Lola comes running when she sees me.

“Surprise!” I say to
her and everyone else.

“Are you back for good or
visiting?”

“I’m back for good.”

She smiles up at me and then puts
her hand on her hip. “And why am I finding out about this now?
Where are you living?”

“I wanted to surprise you,
and I moved in with Josh.”

Josh chooses that moment to walk
up to me, take my hand in his, and kiss me on the cheek.

I lose track of time while walking
around saying hello to everyone. I’ve also lost Josh. I go
looking for him and stop when I find him with Kasey in his arms. He
is telling her how beautiful she is and that she is his princess. I
think Josh would like kids. Obviously, he is great with them. But I
don’t want children and I wonder if that would affect us in the
long term.

“Kasey really loves him, and
he’s great with her,” a voice quietly says from behind
me.

I turn to face Adam, and the sight
of him breaks my heart. He looks like he needs a haircut and hasn’t
shaven for days. He’s also lost a fair bit of weight. I
instantly grab him and pull him into a hug. I can feel the tears in
the back of my eyes coming and I try to fight them as this is a
special day for Kasey.

“I’m really glad to
see you and Josh happy. We always knew you two would find a way to
one another,” Adam says to me. I see him hesitate before he
asks, “Has he spoken about anything else with you?”

“Thank you, Adam, that means
a lot coming from you. No, he hasn’t mentioned anything, is
there something I should know?”

“Aunty Sasha, look who I
found!” Josh comes up with Kasey in her arms.

“Well, hello there, darling!
I heard a special little girl just turned two and this is her
birthday party. Do you know who that might be so I can give her this
present I got her?”

She reaches out for me and I take
her in my arms.

“Me! Me, Aunty!”

“Okay, let’s go and
see if it’s present time yet, want to?”

I’ve had a fabulous day
today. I truly am lucky to have a great set of friends in my life.
Josh walks up to me after putting Kasey down for a nap. He picks me
up, steals my seat, and deposits me onto his lap while he wraps his
arms around my midsection. I feel him breathe me in before he says,
“Hope you’re not worn out. I have somewhere I want to
take you.”

“And where would that be?”
I raise an eyebrow at him.

“It’s a surprise.”

Half an hour later, we have left
the party and he is driving me to a very posh part of town. We enter
an estate and I notice the houses are absolutely gorgeous. I’m
too busy looking at them to pay much attention until we pull up to a
driveway. Josh buzzes us in, and the yard alone takes my breath away.
It’s so immaculate with beautiful hedges and flower gardens
everywhere. The house looks like it’s a three-storey home.

“Whose house is this?”

“My parents,” he tells
me calmly.

I whip my head around to him so
fast I think I may have gotten whiplash.

“Tell me you’re
joking! Look how I’m dressed. I can’t go in and meet your
parents!”

I only have on a sundress. It’s
yellow and some of my cleavage is out. Definitely not a dress I want
to meet his parents in.

“Sasha, you look gorgeous,
and they’re going to love you. They have been very eager to
meet you.”

“Oh no, they’re gonna
think I’m the trollop who broke your heart, aren’t they?”

“No, actually, they think
very highly of you. I was the stupid one; well, that’s what
they tell me anyway,” he says with a grin.

I look back up to the house and
see a very slim figure in the doorway. I can’t tell from in the
car, but I’m guessing that is his mum. We get out of the car
and walk toward the entrance. Now that I can see her more clearly, I
notice she is rather beautiful for her age. She has hardly any
wrinkles, and is smiling brightly at us. She is very petite.

When we reach the top of the
stairs, she instantly pulls me into a hug. Then she let’s go,
looks at me, and says, “Well, let me get a good look at you.
Aren’t you absolutely gorgeous! I can understand now why my
Joshy boy is so crazy for you.”

She leans over and gives Josh a
hug and kiss before grabbing my hand and pulling me inside with her.
The inside of the house is as stunning as the outside. In the middle
of the entrance, there is a table with a large vase centred in the
middle full of flowers. I look around and
notice the entrance
is as big as my apartment back in Sydney.

“Josh, your dad is in the
study. Why don’t you grab him while we go and prepare some
refreshments?”

Josh walks up and kisses me on the
cheek before going towards what I presume is his dad’s study. I
follow Josh’s mum into the kitchen.

“It’s so good to see
him smile like that again. Oh, where are my manners? My name is
Sandy.”

We head to the bar area and she
starts preparing drinks. Thankfully, not long after, Josh walks in
with a very large man following behind him. He too is very good
looking. I can see where Josh gets his looks from. He smiles when he
see me and I instantly relax.

“Well, my son sure knows how
to pick them. You are quite a beauty, Sasha.”

“Thank you, sir,” I
answer shyly.

“Oh, please, call me John.”

We have such a lovely afternoon. I
can now understand where Josh gets his affectionate nature from. His
parents still look madly in love, even after being together for
thirty years. I wonder if Josh and I will be like that. My thoughts
get interrupted when Sandy tells the boys to go and get us something
to eat.

“They’re both great
cooks, and I’m hopeless at it. John always does the cooking. He
even pushes me out of the kitchen,” she laughs at herself.

“Yes, Josh is a very good
cook, and usually does all the cooking, too.”

“I must say, I’ve
never seen Josh this way before, but then again, I’ve never met
anyone he has dated before. I believe he is quite taken with you.”

“He’s never brought a
girl home before?”
