Shawn hummed in understanding and put even more pressure onto my clit, which made me feel a sudden burst of pleasure rock through my entire body. My eyes rolled back and my back arched off the floor as pleasure ran through my veins like adrenaline. I was breathless and unable to talk. I simply worked on gathering my breath as Shawn slowly lifted his head and took his fingers out from inside me.

“Ah,” I exclaimed as Shawn’s fingers popped out of me.

“You squeezed me so tight,” Shawn said, “I could hardly take my fingers out of you.”

I laughed. “It was amazing,” I admitted.

“It must’ve been from the sounds you were making,” Shawn replied.

We both looked at each other and smiled.

“Shall we shower?” Shawn suggested.

“Yes please, I am so sweaty,” I replied.

We both got off the floor and walked to the bathroom where Shawn started the shower. Shawn got in first and I followed second. First we washed our hair and then we washed each other.

“Can you pass me the soap?” I asked.

Shawn passed me the bottle. I squeezed some onto my hand and began to wash Shawn. I was careful to get behind his ears and between his fingers. I also made sure to wash underneath his foreskin.

“That was some good sex,” Shawn commented.

“It was,” I agreed.

“I wonder if we will ever be too old for sex?” Shawn asked.

“If you break your back, I can ride you,” I said.

“What if
you
break your back trying to ride me?” Shawn laughed.

“That would be terrible!” I exclaimed. “I guess we won’t know until we are older.”

Shawn hummed.

“Shawn”

In return for washing me, I washed Rachel. I was careful to be attentive to all of her nooks and crannies and think I did quite a good job. Once we were both washed and rinsed we turned off the faucet. Rachel got out first and handed me my towel.

“Thank you,” I said.

“No problem,” she replied

We both went into our bedroom to get some fresh clothes. Rachel picked another dress to wear while I grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

“How was work the other day by the way? Weren’t you talking to Kathleen and Missy about something exciting?” I asked.

“Oh yeah!” Rachel exclaimed, “You won’t believe what offer I got!”

“What offer?” I asked.

“A magazine wants to feature my clothing line in their next issue! I’ll get to model my clothing for them and everything!” Rachel said excitedly.

“Wow! I’m so proud of you, Rachel!” I said with equal enthusiasm.

I brought Rachel into a large bear hug. “Thank you, Shawn!” Rachel replied. “It’s all because you supported me through it.”

“No, it’s because of your talent and hard work,” I said.

Rachel smiled at me. I then picked her up by her waist and spun her around. We both laughed whole-heartedly. We suddenly heard the door open and shut.

“Mom! Pop! We’re home!” Michael’s deep voice called out.

“How was school Michael?” Rachel asked as she entered the living room.

“It was the same-old, same-old,” said Michael.

He was now a young man standing taller than his mother. He was still only sixteen but he was old enough to look out for himself now. He had my eyes, but he looked a lot like Rachel because of his facial features.

“What about you Luna?” Rachel asked.

“We painted trees today and learned how to spell more words!” Luna said while shooting her hand straight up into the air. Luna, surprisingly, had Rachel’s eyes and my facial features. She actually looked like the old photos of my mother when she was a child.

All was well with the world. Jasmine called from time to time to spar but she hasn’t caused any forest fires (at least to my knowledge). Missy worked her way up to owning the hunting store. Kathleen worked with Rachel at her dress shop consulting and giving advice to first time buyers. Auntie called and visited often and always brought present for Michael and Luna.

Rachel and I were happy. We had everything that we have ever wanted and more. We have each other. We have a loving family. We have friends and relatives we can rely on. We have a smart son and a creative daughter. We have a roof to sleep under and a couple secrets to keep.

Every time I looked at Rachel I reveled in how lucky I am. How lucky it was we met that one night seventeen years ago. How lucky it was that her birth control didn’t work that one fateful night. How lucky it was that Rachel chose to still have Michael despite the fact that he would end her career for an unprecedented amount of time. How lucky it was that Jasmine forced me to run away in a surprise attack.

How lucky it was that I went to check the dragon sighting. How lucky it was that our son turned out to be a dragon shifter as well! How lucky it was that Rachel came with me to Sub-Dublin to keep Michael safe. How lucky it was that we were able to rescue Missy from my old boss and not give up Michael in the process.

How lucky it was that Jasmine bombed the underground city and there were minimum deaths. How lucky it was that Rachel found me on the street when she did. How lucky it was that Jasmine found us again and I was able to turn her to our side. How lucky it was that all these things happened; happy accidents are what they call them but so many have formed my world and what I have come to know as family. It was luck that built my world to what it is now.

I am so happy with where I am. I am not glad that all these things happened, but I’m happy with the outcome. I’m happy with where it brought all of us, and yes people might have gotten hurt on the way but I think the ending was worth the challenges we faced. It was a hard road for Rachel and I but in the end I think it was worth the ride. It was a challenge worth facing, a foe worth fighting, and a life worth living.

I don’t know about the future, but I do know that right now I love Rachel and she loves me, and sometimes that’s enough. We have everything we will ever need within each other. I am not the type to lie about these sorts of things. It’s the truth.

Our story is one of challenges and making most of what you have. It’s about believing in the impossible and doing your absolute best no matter what problems you face.
