“Neither’m I. Get that dress up over your ass.”

She smiled, never taking her eyes off him. As she gathered up the fabric, raising the dress over her backside, she bent forward. Shane pulled his wallet free of his back pocket and removed a condom. After rolling the latex on, he moved behind her. “This ass of yours. Mmm.” He smoothed his palms over the curve of her butt cheeks. “So fucking fine.”

Cyn reached between her legs, moved her panties aside and pressed two fingers inside her wet channel. “Want you inside me.”

“Raise your ass higher for me.” With a groan, he slid his fingers between her legs, connecting with hers. “Been thinking about being inside your sweet cunt all day.”

Cyn knelt on the bench, grabbed the back of it and raised her ass higher. “Me too. I got so worked up thinking about you this afternoon, I had to get myself off in the bathroom before the wedding.”

Shane dragged his fingers from her swollen pussy to her asshole, coating the tight hole with her wetness. “Did you come hard for me?”

Cyn gasped and bent lower. “You know I did.” Every time he touched and teased her ass her body lit further, like a livewire. She wanted him to take her ass. She wanted him to take whatever he wanted. “Fuck me, Shane. Please…”

The blunt head of his cock pressed to the mouth of her pussy and Cyn bit her bottom lip.

“This what you want?”

“You know it is,” she breathed and pressed back against him.

“Take it, girl.”

Cyn shifted farther back and the head slipped inside her channel. “Fuck, yes. More, honey.” A low groan slid past her lips as she was filled with the thick length of his cock.

He bent forward and nipped her ear. “Gonna be hard and fast, so I suggest you brace.”

Hell yes! Damn right she’d hold on, because she knew he meant it. With a tight hold on her hips, Shane drew back and drove into her. Cyn gripped the back of the bench. “Oh God!” She gritted her teeth while Shane rocketed into her with sharp thrusts, his hips slapping against her ass. And Cyn died and went to heaven.

Reaching between her legs again, she found her clit and rubbed. Bolts of pleasure skipped down her spine as her climax built and Shane’s grip tightened on her hips.

“So tight wrapped around my dick like a glove.” He slid a hand between her legs and covered her fingers with his own. “Rub that clit for me. Help me make you come all over my prick.”

Shane’s tone and choice of words wove through Cyn’s mind and body like a symphony. Christ, the words alone were nearly enough to make her come. She’d always said, “Turn on my mind and you can have my body.” Shane had managed both…to perfection. Her channel clenched, and her clit spasmed.

She was close, ready to tip over the edge. And then he slapped her ass. He shifted somehow, which changed the angle of his dick, sending him deeper and hitting her G-spot. “Holy shit! Yes! Shane, don’t stop… Fuck!”

Shane moved his hand from between her legs and he pushed two fingers into her mouth. “Suck them.”

Cyn groaned, suckling his fingers, knowing it was his way to help her keep the noise level down. They sure as hell didn’t need to get caught having wild monkey sex in the coatroom at her brother’s wedding, for God’s sake.

“Getting close. Goddamn.” He grabbed on to her ass cheek with his free hand, his other now covering her mouth, and slammed into her so hard her teeth chattered.

Cyn panted through her nose, her muffled screams loud in her head as she took him deeper with each thrust. Her climax hit and Cyn’s cunt clenched tight around his shaft. As her orgasm rolled through her in endless powerful waves, her clit spasmed with little zings of pleasure.

“There’s my girl. Giving you mine now.” Shane slammed into her one last time and came. His shaft jerked inside her with each pulse of his orgasm. “Fuck yes. So good.”

Breathless, Cyn fell forward on to her elbows. So good was right. Jesus, how the hell was she going to give this up? Sex with Shane was so fucking epic that every experience she’d had prior to him paled in comparison. And the idea that she’d ever experience this kind of intensity with anyone else was not something she could even fathom.

He’d changed everything. Every. Goddamn. Thing for her and she had no idea what to do next.

Shane ran his palms over her shoulders, down her back and to her ass. “You’re like a drug, Cyn.” He pulled from her channel. “Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of that.”

Already caught in the same web of confusion, Cyn went with the safest response she could think of. She glanced over her shoulder at him. “Nothing to make of it. Good sex is good sex.”

“If you say so.” With a chuckle, he bent and kissed her shoulder before stepping back.

Cyn got her panties back in place and arranged her dress. “You disagree?”

“Not saying that.” He did away with the condom in the trash can by the door. Peering into it, he laughed. “Let’s hope no one notices that in there.”

“Here.” Cyn pulled a couple of tissues from an open box on a side table, and covered the evidence of their little romp. “That should do it. So what
are
you saying?” She ran her fingers through her hair.

Shane hooked her around the waist, pulled her close and kissed her. She melted against his hard body, entangling her tongue with his. Kissing Shane was another thing he’d changed for her. She found she wanted, and could kiss him for hours, days even—again, out of character for her. Cyn broke the kiss and gazed up into his pretty blue eyes. “Was that an answer?”

“Best one you’re gonna get right now.” He kissed her forehead and then stepped out of the coatroom.

Cyn took a seat on the bench. She’d settle for the kiss instead of an answer. God only knew what he would’ve said. She traced her lips with her fingertips and a shiver ran down her spine. Kissing had always been a gateway drug, a means to an end. Not something she craved. Not something that had her thighs lighting on fire. But with him, none of those old norms applied. Christ, she’d been daydreaming about kissing him all day.

And it didn’t matter. It didn’t.

Who am I trying to convince exactly?

He was leaving, and she was going to get used to being single.

But Jesus, once-in-a-lifetime chemistry didn’t seem to give a crap about any of what was supposed to happen, and sure had piss-poor timing.

Chapter Fourteen

“I
’m telling you, Angie.” Cyn smoothed some sunscreen on her nose. “When he kisses me? Good Christ, I can’t stop thinking about it.”

Her sister Angie glanced over from the edge of the pool in Cyn’s backyard. “Stop! You’re freaking me out. The more you talk about it, the more it sounds like one of those kisses I’ve read in romance books. You know, the kind that don’t happen in real life. Like ever. Except it’s happened to you and shit…I want to be kissed like that. Just once.”

“I think it’s awesome,” their younger sister Celia said from one of the pool floats. “But yeah, gotta say I’m jealous too. A kiss like that? I’d love to find a woman who could set me on fire that way too.”

Cyn got to her feet, grabbed her bottle of beer and took a seat on the edge of the pool. “Watch what you wish for, little sisters. I kinda wish I didn’t know.” She swirled her feet in the water, focusing on Celia. It was cool having her in town for the wedding and Cyn loved having her at the house for the day.

“What do you mean?” Celia asked.

“What I mean is, what if I never find it again?” She took a swig of her beer. “What if when I finally get done with my year of staying single, I spend the rest of my life kissing a bunch of toads in search of that same feeling I got when Shane kissed me?”

“Now, that’s some depressing shit right there. Way to go, now you’re really bumming me out.” Angie laughed. “Wait… Year of staying single?”

Cyn cringed. She hadn’t shared her plan with Angie yet, and now Celia was going to hear about it too. “Haven’t had a chance to tell you. Or you, Celia.”

“Uh-oh.” Angie pulled herself out of the water and grabbed a towel.

Cyn stood and followed her sister to the lounge chairs. “It’s not that big of a deal.”

“Wait for me. I don’t want to miss this.” Celia slid off the float and got out of the pool too.

“You single for a year is a big deal, Cyn.” Angie wiped her face with the towel and stretched out on one of the loungers.

What the hell? The statement kind of stung. “Why do you say it like that?”

Celia grabbed a towel and ran it over her short, spiky, black hair, then pulled one of the chairs over. “It’s not that big of a deal, Ang. I’ve been single for a year before.”

“Celia, believe me, it’s a big deal for Cyn. And, Cyn, I say it like that because…” Angie sipped her beer. “I’ve never seen you without a guy at your side.”

“That’s not true.” Cyn frowned and lay back on the cushion.

Angie chuckled. “It
is
true. You just don’t want to admit it.”

Celia sipped her beer. “Sorry, Cyn, but I think she’s right.”

Cyn smoothed her palm down her thigh. “Fine. Maybe it’s a little true. But that’s my point. I decided last week, after I caught Carlos cheating, that I was done with men for a while.”

Angie shifted and adjusted her bathing suit top. “Okay, yeah, but a year?”

“Why not a year? Listen, Maiya and I were talking that same night. After I cried my eyes out, we came to the conclusion that I have a broken picker. I keep picking the same kind of asshole over and over again. And I don’t know why, it doesn’t make any sense. I mean, look at Mom and Dad; they have a great relationship. So do Katie, Mary and Joey. I’m sure Ryan will have one too. So, yeah, why the hell can’t I have one? Shit, even Jimmy’s in a state of relationship bliss.” Cyn motioned to her other sister. “Hell, Celia’s even had bliss before.”

“I’m currently without bliss at the moment, so don’t lump me in with the success pool.” Celia shrugged.

Angie shaded her eyes from the sun with one hand. “Look, I don’t have the greatest track record either, but I’ve had a few decent guys. Celia you were dating that sweet girl for a few years in college and you two ended things on good terms, if I remember right. I guess the difference is, I dump their asses when it’s not working. Cyn,
you
stay. For, like,
wayyyy
too long. Why do you do that?”

“Again, that’s my point. I don’t know why.” Cyn sighed and took another swig of her beer. “Maybe I’m relationship defective?”

Angie laughed. “No, you’re not.”

Cyn laughed too. “Seriously, Ang. I must be.”

“Come on, don’t be such a baby. No one’s
truly
relationship defective. You’re just a little…bent maybe.” Celia chuckled.

Cyn gazed out over her pool. “What’s really odd is I don’t even care anymore that Carlos cheated on me. I mean, don’t get me wrong, at first I did. I was devastated—hence the crying jag and Jameson consumption at Maiya’s. But somewhere through that and the following days, I just—” she shrugged, “—let it go I guess.”

“I wonder if Shane’s magic kisses have something to do with that.” Celia raised her brows and tipped her head to the side.

Cyn gave the idea some thought. “I don’t know. Maybe? They’re definitely a bonus.” She grinned but quickly sobered. “I do know that I had reached the end of my rope. Finally just done with Carlos’s shit. Him fucking around behind my back only gave me more reason to leave.”

Angie flicked a bug off her leg. “You know what, maybe I should stay single too. I can be your wingman. We’ll hit the clubs. We’ll shop. We’ll do all sorts of things—wait, can we have one-night stands?”

“No.” Cyn laughed again.

Celia stopped herself before taking a swig of beer. “Harsh.”

“What? Why not?” Angie blinked.

“Because one-night stands, if they’re any good, turn into more than one night. And then you find yourself craving that fucker and end up in a freaking coat closet getting banged doggie-style over a bench.”

Angie’s eyes went wide. “Hello? TMI!”

“Oh, please.” Cyn waved at Angie, and Celia burst into a fit of laughter. There was no such thing as TMI where Angela was concerned. Cyn’s younger sister had done all sorts of crazy shit with guys. “You probably already had sex in that same closet.”

Angie sat straight up, a shocked look on her face. But then broke into a huge smile and winked. “Yeah, I did. Last summer.”

“Slut.” Cyn giggled.

Celia shook her head. “Oh my God. You two are killing me.”

Angie pulled her long dark hair out of its ponytail. “Takes one to know one.”

Cyn adjusted her bikini straps. “Yeah, yeah. So, you really want to do this with me?”

Angela tied her hair back up. “Sure. But you know, if a kiss comes along like the one you had with Shane, I may have to bail on you.”

“I totally want weekly updates on how this goes.” Celia ran her hands over her hair.

“Done, Celia. And fine, Angie, I guess I’ll take you while you’re available.” Cyn laughed and raised her beer bottle. “Here’s to a year’s moratorium.”

Angie frowned. “Mora-what?”

“Moratorium: A temporary suspension or prohibition of an activity. In this case, of men.”

“Oh. Got it.” Angie raised her bottle and tapped it to Cyn’s. “Deal. Bring on the single life!”

Cyn giggled and took a swig. “After this, let’s go get a massage.”

“Totally game for that.” Angie flipped to her stomach on the lounger. “Wait, what if the massage dude is hot?”

“He won’t be.” Cyn brushed her hair out of her eyes.

Angie glanced at her. “He could be.”

“Nope. We’ll request a female. That way we won’t have to worry.” Cyn shot her a wink.

“Oh, good call. Happy ending massage for me!” Celia got up and dove back into the pool.

“Fabulous. At least she’s happy.” Cyn giggled.

Angie snorted. “Right?”

Come hell or high water, Cyn was determined to see this through. And now she’d have support from Angie. She could do this…she just had to stay away from Shane the rest of the time he was in town.

How long was he in town exactly? She shook her head. It didn’t matter. She hadn’t seen him since the wedding and had no plans to. He’d called and left a voicemail. “Just checking in on you,” he’d said. He’d texted a few times too, but she hadn’t responded to any of it. She felt kind of bad, but she had to steer clear of him. He was too much of a temptation.

Cyn licked her lips and forced back the thoughts of his body. And his tongue. And his cock—good God, his cock. It’d been four days since she’d had that amazingly perfect
and
large cock inside her, and she’d be a fool to deny she wanted it again. Her whole body clenched and she groaned. It wasn’t going to happen again. Blowing out a harsh breath, she forced herself to relax. She could do this. Totally could do this.

* * * * *

“S
o, you and Cyn, huh?” Joey glanced at Shane as he navigated the jogging stroller with his daughter, Madi strapped safely inside.

Shane cringed but didn’t break stride as he ran next to Joey through the park. “So much for the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ approach.”

They rounded a corner on the paved trail. “Yeah, well. What can I say? I’m curious, so I’m asking.”

Shane wasn’t shocked Joey asked. He’d figured at some point Joey would give in and want to know what the deal was, but no matter how much Shane had anticipated his best friend asking about his younger sister, Shane wasn’t entirely prepared with an answer. “You seriously want details about me and your sister?”

Joey laughed. “Not
deeetails
. Just high-level.”

“Honestly, I have no idea where she’s at with it, but I dig your sister in a big way.” He glanced at Joey. “I didn’t expect it.”

“What didn’t you expect?”

“Her.”

Joey let out another chuckle and Shane shot him a sideways glance. “All right, Romeo. I don’t know how you couldn’t have expected Cyn. The girl has had a crush on you since grade school.”

Shane’s eyes went wide. “What?”

“Don’t even try and tell me you didn’t know that.” They rounded another corner, jogging alongside a small pond. “Dude, seriously?”

Shane slowed and finally stopped entirely. “What are you talking about?”

His best friend came to a stop a few feet ahead of him, glancing over his shoulder. “Just what I said. Cyn has had a crush on you since grade school. How did you not know this?”

“I don’t know… I guess because we were kids and she was your baby sister?” Shane walked up to him and wiped the sweat from his brow with the bottom of his T-shirt. “But that was grade school. Even if I knew, I’m not seeing how you think that means I should’ve expected her.”

Joey clapped Shane on the shoulder. “I said,
since
grade school.”

“Ohhhkay. And what does that mean?”

“That means all through middle and almost
all
of high school, she crushed on you.”

“No shit?”

Madi let out a squeal and Joey glanced around the front of the stroller. “True story.” He reached in and adjusted his daughter in the seat and then got back behind the stroller. “Running now.”

How the hell did Shane not know Cyn had crushed on him pretty much their entire adolescence? He ran after Joey. Maybe he didn’t notice because, like he’d said, Cyn was his best friend’s little sister? “I never knew.”

“Don’t you remember how she was always wanting to tag along? Or how she was always trying to wrestle with you?”

“Yeah, but I thought…hell, we were kids. I thought she was cute, but only because she was your little sister, and also because, duh, she
was
cute. But I guess I missed the fact that behind all her cuteness and requests to hang out with us were due to a crush.” He crossed behind Joey, keeping pace with him.

“Okay, so now that we’ve established that little missed fact, what’s next?”

Shane was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he’d clicked with her sexually in a way he never had with anyone else, and now added to it was the info about her having a crush. It wasn’t a big deal; lots of people hooked up with their childhood crushes. But maybe it was. “I have no clue. But let’s just say, we have a…connection.”

“Connection?”

“Joey, you don’t want
deeetails
, remember?”

“Okay, shit. Right. But…okay, is that it, just
that
kind of connection?”

“Yeah.” They rounded another corner. “I don’t know, but I can say it’s the kind I’ve never had with anyone in my life.”

Joey blew out a breath. “Thank God.”

“What the hell does that mean?” Shane glanced at him.

“Told you at the bachelor party, don’t hurt her, and it sounds to me like the kind of connection you’re referring to is the same kind I have with Steph. If it is, then no way you’ll hurt her.”

“I don’t know about that, but regardless, I’m not a dick. I wouldn’t hurt her anyway. I’m not in the business of breaking hearts.”

“I know you’re not a dick, but you’re the guy my little sister pined over for pretty much a year after you left for boot camp, and if you’re not serious about her, at least be sure you’re straight-up about that.”

“I hear you, man. Look, I know I swore up and down I wouldn’t go there with her, Joey. I’m sorry I didn’t honor that.”

“Pfft, you think I didn’t know you meant it when you said it? But, dude, I also knew that if you had an eye for her, and knowing she was probably still carrying a torch for you, there was no way in hell you weren’t going to go there with her. Don’t sweat it.”

God, his best friend was awesome. Always was and always would be. It meant the world to Shane that Joey wasn’t pissed, or worse, disappointed in him. “You know I love you, right?”

“Yes, dear. I love you too.” Joey laughed.

They ran in silence while Shane mulled over what Joey said about the connection between him and his wife. It was too soon to know if the connection between Shane and Cyn was more than just sex.

Right now, the connection was definitely chemical. But in addition, Shane genuinely liked her. How could he not? She was a smart-ass, with a bright-as-the-sun smile and a personality so real, a person couldn’t help but want to be near her. For sure, Shane wanted to be near her and so he intended to do just that. As soon as they got back to Joey’s he was going to send her a text, see if she wanted to hang out.

Of course, if they ended up having sex again, he sure as hell wasn’t going to complain. Taking her to bed a few more times…wouldn’t be a problem for him. In truth, even if they never had sex again, which would totally suck, he still wanted to hang with her more.
